I got a pedicure here a couple weeks ago based on a friend's recommendation, and unfortunately I'm now dealing with a painful nail infection afterward. It has gotten bad enough that I can barely walk. The whole experience felt confusing from the start. The pedicure itself was very quick -- around 30 minutes -- and cost about $30. When I asked about a typical tip amount, I was told that a $20 tip was recommended, which felt unusually high considering how short and minimal the service was. I also expected a more complete pedicure experience rather than what felt mostly like a quick polish change. There was no real foot massage or spa treatment involved. Most concerning is the hygiene issue, since I am now dealing with an infection afterward. I really tried to love this place. It's beautiful, they offer complimentary beverages, and Kim has always been incredibly kind and accommodating--but there are serious hygiene issues and a lot of tension among the staff. When Kim isn't available, I've been nicked, bled, had my nails break under the gel within 10 days, or had a technician cut nearly all the length off my nails when I asked for the most minimal cut--none of which ever happened to me before coming here. On my last visit, a new tech (very sweet, but there was a big communication gap) tried to place my hand on a metal sterilization tray completely covered in nail dust and debris. I pulled away and asked to clean it. She tried, but it was still visibly dirty. When I mentioned this a second time, the front desk woman gaslit me and said, "it's a nail salon, you're going to run into dust." I've been getting my nails done for twenty years and have never seen such a disregard for basic sanitation--especially for a surface clients are expected to rest their hands on. This is a major health violation as nail debris/dust/skin can harbor bacteria, fungus, and viruses. I even reluctantly explained I have autoimmune concerns, so this matters for my health. The tech then disappeared with no communication. After 15 minutes, I was told they were switching technicians, despite me saying she was lovely, I just needed a clean tray. I then saw her crying in the corner, which was really unsettling. I reassured her multiple times that I wasn't upset with her. I still tipped 22-25% and thanked her excessively. Later, when I tried to book again, I was told I'm on a "block list" and can't return. No explanation, no follow-up from management. Being banned for requesting a clean, sanitary tray is honestly bewildering. I've since gone elsewhere (Base Nail Salon in Weho) and had the polar opposite experience across the board. Sharing this because the issues here--hygiene, injuries, and how feedback is handled is not only a health code violation but a punitive response to feedback that should never be warranted. read more

I did the builder gel mani, glow pedi, callus remover and gel polish with luxury set for a total of $160. I tipped via Venmo. My friends got the luxury pedicure and it looked really nice. The experience was great and they offer drinks, like mimosas. It was clean. Staff were friendly. Pricing was easily understood. Booking process was simple. I'm so disappointed with my recent experience at Maison Nail Spa Silverlake. My mom and I were excited because our first two visits were great, but yesterday was incredibly frustrating. When I booked our appointments, I was very clear that we both wanted simple nail designs and even sent photos ahead of time. We're leaving for vacation, so this appointment really mattered. When we arrived for our 6:00 pm appointment, it quickly became clear that the technician working on my mom's nails was struggling. My mom kept mentioning that the gel was getting on her skin and that the nails were too long, but her concerns were ignored. She even had to file the sides herself because they were catching on everything. It got worse when it was time for her design--the technician admitted she didn't know how to do it. I asked the front desk, and they confirmed it as well. So what was the point of sending pictures and clearly requesting designs when they assign someone who can't do them? The pricing was the final shock. I was fine paying $70 for a gel overlay, but I was charged an additional $53 for French tips on six nails and simple designs on just two nails per hand. $20 for French tips and $33 for basic designs? That feels completely unreasonable, especially since the design wasn't complex or particularly impressive. And it's honestly crazy that they advertise designs "starting at $3"--what does that even mean, a single line? That kind of pricing feels misleading considering what we were actually charged. To make it worse, the staff seemed to find the situation funny, which was frustrating and disrespectful. Another technician eventually stepped in for my mom after being asked multiple times, and for a similar (even simpler) design--just one nail per hand--she was charged $20. The inconsistency is unbelievable. This experience felt misleading and disappointing. It's frustrating when a place starts off strong to build reviews but doesn't maintain that quality or consistency. Definitely not worth the price. Be better. read more

Service was sooo sloppy. I am extremely disappointed and definitely never going back. I treated my fiance, daughter and myself to get our nails done today. Upon making the appointment, I asked for extra calluses removal for my fiance and the technician Joan totally disregarded the request despite being told in advance and it was also written on the paper to do so. I don't understand why she refused to do the service. Last time I checked if a PAYING customer wants a certain service it should be done by the salon. Please explain why she could not perform such duty. For my daughter and I, both technicians straight rushed our gel manicures. The outcome was just ughhh okay to be honest but we definitely had to fix all the imperfections on our own from home. I still tipped each technician out of etiquette but I feel ripped off for receiving less than mediocre quality service and walking out displeased. read more

Two bad experiences here with two different nail techs. First guy didn't clean my cuticles and left my gel lifting within days. I went back for a complementary correction and the second guy was wildly rude and rough on my hands, to the point I asked him to stop. Left the salon with my nails unfinished. Maison is one of the most clean and relaxing nail salons in the area. I like all the choices they offer (gel-x, builder gel, japanese gel) and deep selection of diff polish/nail art options. It is a bit more pricey but they are gentler on my thin nails going on and coming off. (Some places are very overzealous with the drill.). Got a Japanese gel mani from Kelly today and she did a beautiful job with the shape & paint job and was so quick. Mani and pedi was in and out in 45 min. All the nail techs are different so try + see who suits you. Would def book w Kelly again :) read more

I come to get my nails done at Maison regularly, about every 2-3 weeks, and I always request Kevin. He's amazing and my favorite nail tech. Kevin is so detail oriented and really takes the time to always do a great job. I'm so happy with the way my nails look and feel every time I leave! I treated myself to the Seasonal Pedicure for my birthday earlier this month and I loved it! It includes a 10-minute massage, callous removal, and paraffin treatment. It was the perfect way to pamper myself. :) The complimentary mimosa is also a very nice touch. 10/10! read more

I was a loyal customer of Maison and I am sadden to have to write this. I went this Friday and it is a complete mess. For starters I tried booking an appointment last Friday but no one answered. I ended up booking online but needed to reschedule so I called again. The woman on the phone told me that they rescheduled my appointment to next Friday but I still ended up getting notified that I was a no show to my original Friday appointment which is ridiculous because I made sure to call and reschedule. When i did show up to my Friday appointment it was pure chaos. I was was never properly greeted and it was clear that the people at the front did not know what they were doing. Drinks were poorly served and I never got to see colors. My pedicure was done in under 15 mins which is ridiculous since prices went up (they never said anything btw) I hate having to write this because Emily and Kelly always do great with my nails and Tati is always the sweetest however the recent changes to this place needs to be addressed. Service definitely depends on the day and from what I saw make sure to avoid Friday since they clearly can't handle the crowd read more

This salon is one of the only ones I've been to in LA that really takes their time and tries to offer a very enjoyable healthy experience for their customers. They have a ton of natural/healthier options of nail color available and the service is great. Last week I got a regular polish manicure from Mia and it has lasted an entire week so far! I always want a little design for my gel manicure and Anar always does a great job. My nails always last for 3-4 weeks. They don't have massage chairs for pedicure seatings but I don't mind as their environment is much better than the ones which have them. Though I love the idea of low toxin nails and it is hard to find, this place is simply incomparable to the salon I had previously and I miss it dearly :( . Attitudinal unpleasant manager . Called as soon as I could after spending 70$ on a mani/pedi with gel removal and she gave me attitude for not calling sooner to return for a nail fix since my nails started chipping right away. Umm not even an apology for them chipping for the high price ?? Where are the customer service skills ma'am? I work and go to school full time didnt have time to call sooner and they were closed when I tried. Then she talked smack in her language with the lady who re did them and made sure to emphasize that they wouldn't redo the nails but paint over them since I called three days later to report immediate chipping. WOW this place is amazing! From the safety precautions taken to the actual services provided, my experience was just great. I was given a temperature scan, COVID assessment form & hand sanitizer right away as well as gloves to handle the nail color samples AND they sanitized my card after handling it. I was then led to the back where they set up an outdoor salon and I have to say, it was pretty comfortable! Granted I went first thing in the morning so it wasn't as hot as it can usually get in the afternoons, but they had big fans going the whole time :) All in all I felt very comfortable and safe and the nail technicians were great to boot. 10/10 def would recommend!! read more
