I had such a lovely experience here last week! The woman at the front desk with the amazing, vivid hair was so kind (apologies I didn't catch her name). She was incredibly accommodating, and her wonderful phone manner was actually what made me want to book in the first place. First impressions are everything! I booked an appointment with Nina after a recommendation from my sister-in-law who has been seeing her for a while, and I am so glad I did. Nina was fantastic. She really listens, has great attention to detail, and is very gentle. I can't wait to return!

Everyone here is super friendly. From the receptionists to the nail techs. They are all patient and ask you questions to make sure you get the design you have in mind. They offer free beverages and the ambiance is very relaxing. The decor and aesthetic is very pretty. I personally recommend Henry and Sam they are AMAZING!!!!

I always look forward to my nail time with Mimi at Gloss Nail Spa on Sunset Blvd. Mimi is truly gifted and excellent at what she does! I often go there with an idea of what designs I think I want on my nails and she builds my ideas into reality. Furthermore, all the staff at Gloss Nails are very nice and everyone works together extremely well. The establishment is well kept with a lively vibe. They even feed me snacks and drinks whenever I'm there. The only downside of the store is the parking situation, the lot is very small and it's not complimentary. But to be completely fair, for the quality of service I continue to get from Mimi throughout these years, the parking is a very minor issue. I am a fan of Gloss Nail Spa, and an even bigger fan of Mimi! If you are particularly keen on your hands and feet, and you are looking for someone who knows what they're doing, Mimi is your girl. Keep up the great work Gloss Nail Spa!

Try finding a different spot. I've been here multiple times only because of the convenience and I'm a regular at their other location, but this place consistently falls short. Every visit I leave slightly disappointed, wishing I had just made the 40+ minute drive to the Gloss Nail Spa in Pasadena instead. French tips are a hit or miss, but mostly a miss. On two separate occasions, both my girl and I had our gel extensions pop off within a day or two. The staff is nice enough that we kept giving it another chance, but the nail techs seemed distracted while working and even came off rude when I asked for a correction. Sure enough, a day or two later her nail fell off anyway. Still on the hunt for a reliable salon in the area. This one is not it. read more

It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I was told the card on file couldn't be used for the service--only for late fees or no-shows--which made no sense. If the salon can charge the card for penalties, why not for the actual service being provided? This was especially frustrating because the appointment was a gift for a huge accomplishment of mine, from my mother, so of course I didn't have the physical card with me. On top of that I was also charged extra for nail length without warning, and billed twice for polish: $20 for gel color and $15 for French tip, even though I only received 1 design; french tip. When I asked for clarification, staff just pointed to the online pricing--but I booked in person to avoid that confusion. The experience felt misleading. I intentionally came in person to avoid confusion and relied on the staff to guide me accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. If you're considering booking here, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for more transparent and customer-friendly service.

****UPDATE**** Ladies (and some of you gentlemen)...as though Gloss wasn't my favorite mani/pedi place already, it now offers HARD WAX waxing. So i've been hearing about this new HARD WAX thing lately and was wondering what was the big deal right? Lo and behold when I went for my regular mani/pedi last Friday, I was told that there is a new esthetician name Pamela who uses HARD WAX. I was headed the the beach that weekend so I was in need of a little maintainance so I said "what the heck." OMG, I am so glad I did. Pamela is the nicest person and is super gentle. Believe it ladies, the HARD WAX is AMAZING!!! I hadn't had a bikini in so long and it did not hurt one bit. Plus the wax she use smells like roses. I also had my brows done and they are the best I've ever had. I am a total convert. She is only there on Fridays for now but from what I was told, Gloss will be extending this service in the near future. Once you go hard, you can't go back. This place totally gets it. The vibe is chill and is like being in your girlfriend's living room, but with really amazing massaging spa chairs. The prices are reasonable and the service is amazing. My mani/pedi lasted for close to two weeks. And the music selection is awesome (no elevator or KOST here). Most importantly, this place is clean. i yelped this place looking for a place to get a Brazilian around Silver lake - some fool raved about Ana - - some have different standards of excellence when it comes to our public hair. She was out of control basically told me to "drop em" when we went behind a CURTAIN - ... i hesitantly complied - she did not clipper me down (i admit it had been a while ... since i moved here in June) just lathered on the hot stuff ... it took ... almost an hour - NO WAX should take longer than 15 minutes! about half way through she asks me if i want her to stop ... those are words you NEVER want to hear come out of your lady's mouth. her lack of confidence scared the beejesus out of me and i was crying on the table. she handed me a hand mirror for me to inspect ... the room was very poorly lit i took a good look - there were hairs still and i cried some more i pointed out the hairs and she went back at it ... she handed me the mirror AGAIN for the inspection and ... there was more hair. i couldn't bare letting her just trouble shoot my vagina - i left. WOW! By far the best mani/pedi I've ever had - had to sign up on Yelp to share. The place has the right balance - fabulous service with down to earth people in a cool environment. It was like being at a real spa without the crazy prices. Yummy candle burning - soaps and candles for sale - plus free books - free books!!! The workers were super nice and attentive and always checked in with me to make sure i was happy with what they were doing. The massage chairs were AWESOME and my french mani/pedi was perfect. They have an AMAZING polish selection - OPI and ESSIE - with all the latest colors. I was tempted to try their new polishes but had an interview the next day so i had to stay conservative. Plus they have a 3 day guarantee - dope! I get my mani/pedi religiously every 2 weeks and am so glad i found this spot. From the moment I walk in, Amaris at the front desk always gives the warmest welcome and makes me feel like I'm catching up with an old friend. I recently visited Gloss while I was visiting my sister here in LA. While the service was acceptable, I was appalled by the lack of professionalism employed by the nail techs. Two of them were not dressed for working in a salon, but more for a nightclub. I should not have to see a woman's breasts hanging out of her shirt while she is doing my pedicure. I understand that low cut shirts can be worn with class but she must have known because she adjusted her shirt every few minutes. And there was another, much larger, nail tech there, with whom I did not receive service, but caught enough view of her behind peeking from her pants. I understand that in the beauty industry, it is absorbed by many young people aspiring to make it big in the LA area, doing so is by proving it with class and hard work, not cheap thrills. I went to Gloss today because it is right up the street from my work and my boss told me they do a great job and are pretty quick. I thought I'd have plenty of time to get a mani pedi on my hour lunch break and I was totally wrong. I made an appointment and upon my arrival they did not have a pedicure spot for me. They started on my dip manicure -- the lady doing it was extremely nice. However they did not offer to start my pedicure until close to 50 minutes in. I did not have time to stay for the pedicure and now I am glad I didn't because my nails look awful. While the woman was really nice, she kept touching my nails while they were still wet. She repeatedly tried to buff them out -- three separate times, but still after an hour and 15 minutes, I left with lumpy nails and visible brush strokes. Not what I was hoping to pay $40 for and I don't have time to get them redone before vacation. Avoid this place!! read more

I'm between a 2 and a 3 here. The manicure itself was fine, but the lady that did it was a bit rough. During the massage part she was pressing my arms so hard it hurt. Ouch. And as fellow nail spa patrons know, after getting your nails painted you cant really put your jewelry back on yourself. The lady was in a big rush to do my nails that she bailed out before I was done drying and was left to figure out how to get my things together to pay. Oh well, live and learn. I stopped by with a friend last week. The place wasnt busy so we were able to easily walk in. We sat down for our service and as we gossiped away, our technicians wizzed through our nails. It was done pretty quickly but we just figured "you get what you pay for." To our surprise, it costed us an arm, a leg, and part of my calf!! Is this place seriously charging this much? We didnt say anything of course since it's our fault for not really paying attention to the prices but we never could have imagined it was going to be this ridiculous. I mean it's in a ghetto strip mall in the middle of no where!!! So what would compel me to publically address my bikini area on YELP??? Without getting too personal, I was in desperate need of a bikini wax last week. Went to Gloss for my usual mani/pedi (awesome by the way) and was told that they have a new waxer name PAMELA who uses HARD WAX. I needed a bikini badly and since I was there decided to try it. Gezz Louise, it was the best bikini wax i've ever had. This hard wax business is no joke. Pamela is amazing and the hard wax is unbelievable. It didn't even hurt. Trust me, I was ready to scream in pain, but before I knew it, I was done. And because I loved it so much, I let Pamela do my brows...holly cow, my brows were even more awesome. Hard wax rocks! This Place is Great. I am Not a Fan of Pedicures but going to this place was great. I was recommended by my friend to go see Sreynin. Tha last time i got a pedicure they hurt my toes at this other spot so i was hesitant on getting it done anywhere. I tried it with Sreynin and she knew exactly what she was doing. I got a Cup of tee and a massage on the chair that was very relaxing after playing basketball all day long..(20 Minutes later) Wow! My Toes Look and Feel better. I don't know how she does it but she is a pro at handling the tough nails i have.. This is only my second pedicure in my life. Will come back only to Sreynin and no one else. Granted it's been a couple years since I've been to this place because I moved out of the area-- but it's always been my favorite nail salon. The prices are good and the service was always good. I never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to get in & never got any weird infections. In fact, my nails always looked GREAT! I like the place so much that I'm considering driving across town from now on just to get my nails done!! The place near me makes me wait and wait and wait-- once I actually waited 45 min and I just left. It's excruciating to not have an appointment time honored. What can I say ? This is by far the best nail salon I've been to. I've been searching for a great nail salon around my area as I am very picky when it comes to my nails . I came in last week and I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. The result came out as I expected and the girls that did my mani pedi were really friendly and accommodating. I love how the staffs there are super friendly and the atmosphere is pretty relaxing. I have to say I'm a huge skeptic when it comes to getting my nails done. I need to feel the comfort of being there. I mean, if you're going to spend an hour just sitting there to get service, you better imagine you would want to be in a good environment. I honestly don't know why this place has such good reviews. And maybe I make the mistake of not finding "my person" and sticking with them, but I'm never happy when I leave here. I only come here when my usual nail girl in Beverly Hills is booked or I want to save a little money (my usual girl is pretty pricey). But whenever I leave I think to myself "well, you get what you pay for". The last pedicure I had here was terrible, the polish isn't even at all. LOVE Gloss!! I go to Gloss bi-weekly for my acrylic fill and pedicures. Joyce, Helen and Christie are the best! I am very particular when it comes to the shape of my acrylic nails, and these ladies do the best work. Gloss is clean, the staff is friendly and overall I have never had a negative experience at all. Tip: Make a reservation, as they are always busy. Highly recommend!! read more
