We went Saturday April 12, 2025. They open at 12pm instead of 11:30am. There was a line outside. The food is ver good. The only draw back was the potato salad & collar green was not prepared. That was a disappointment along with one staff person with a big Afro not covered. I believe, when you open the doors to service the customers, everything should be ready including the grooming! Wow, wow, wow! I have only two bad things to say about this place. The wait is insane, but that's more due to the volume of customers than the restaurant being slow. Second thing is the Mac and cheese could be cheesier, but flavor wise it's an 8/10. The kind of place you look forward to going to and doesn't disappoint. Wonderfully seasoned before frying, not over-caked with breading, and the seafood itself is tender and well-cooked. The shrimp have a very slightly sweet, almost coconut-y, flavor. Mac and cheese was good, could perhaps have been melted through a bit more when it was baked. The service runs smoothly and quickly. The menu has a good variety and combinations--they know what people like to order. Greens are cooked with turkey. Corn bread is on Fridays only. No chicken on Fridays. Cash only. ATM in-restaurant. The food holds up well to eat later if commuting. There is a window bar you could eat at in-restaurant but there are usually so many people, it would feel crowded to sit and eat. read more

Best fried fish I have EVER had. We go the catfish and shrimp. I'm not a big fan of catfish but I enjoyed the fish here. The batter and seasoning were spot on. I'm from Los Angeles and there are plenty of fried fish joints but none I have had compare. Had plenty of meals in NY this trip but this was the best meal I had on this trip. Interesting local neighborhood joint. NOT A DESTINATION place. Small local neighborhood order and go spot. They only accept cash but very reasonably priced seafood menu with potato salad, greens, Mac n cheese, and candied yams for sides. The menu needs to be updated it is more than what is posted on signage in store and on website. The actual location is a small flat roll in manual glass door in middle of block. It is obvious that it is a local spot not very courteous or inviting of first timers and new customers. The catfish was exceptional! The sides were mixed. Bread is by request only but you wouldn't know unless you pay attention to the old timers order. It was an interesting experience that I would have passed on if I knew the trip from Brooklyn to Harlem was not not worth it. The long trip on the bus was not equal to the experience meant to celebrate the last day of the semester. Just don't expect too much in terms of seasoning and flavor. On the other hand they do offer and provide plenty of sauces with every dish. I usually get the . whiting or salmon. Their sides are pretty hefty considering so you will get value for your dollar. The location itself is kinda ugly, and off putting imho, so I opt to use their delivery service. I still think about the catfish dinner I had from here. Catfish was perfectly seasoned and remained crispy! None of that soggy fish business over here. I've never been in this establishment but my neighbor frequents it and always shares the food with me. Every time it's very good. The fish is hot, crunchy, and well seasoned.
