Came here with my family for breakfast and had a buy one get one item free (equal or lesser value). They do NOT honor their coupons here. When I brought up the issue with the OWNER, he literally said, "oh well maybe next time" rather than honor their own offer. To boot, our sandwiches were sloppily put together and they don't taste nearly as good as others. You're better off going somewhere else. read more

This place is pretty good if you're looking for a quick bite for an affordable price. We have two coffees, two sausage,egg & cheese croissants and the chicken Caesar salad for $20 which is super cheap! The salad was huge! Enough to share or as a light lunch. Terrible. Not only was our order wrong... TWICE in the same visit, but the quality was nonexistent. It is run by a few teenagers who couldn't care less. Took forever for two bagel sandwiches that were both incorrect. The "Frappuccino" was not only an infringement on a trademarked beverage, but it was so foul I was only able to tolerate three sips. Imagine a coffee flavored syrup snowcone.. That's what it was. It was very obvious there was no real coffee in it. You will never see management here. Friday 1/3/2014 10:30am was a disaster. The two young main girls and the one young guy are the only reason we come. First they were so slow to wait on us and we were the only ones here. It took 10 minutes to get a bagel with cream cheese and a Burt Reynolds. The tables are not clean, the staff don't know their own menu, English is barely spoken, and with 3 people in the place and 7 teen age staff, my $11 omelet took 15 minutes. Called to place an order for delivery. Had a coupon for buy one menu item and get another of equal or lesser value for free. Woman who I spoke with said they can't accept that coupon even though it doesn't expire until 12/31/16. I asked for the total which was different than what I had calculated. When I asked for clarification she told me the prices on the website are incorrect and she doesn't know why. If you don't want people getting a sandwich for free you shouldn't put your coupon in a discount coupon book. Then the prices on your website are wrong? Do you just make up the price as you go along. I had a very bad customer service experience with Makeb's Bagels today. I ordered an omelette and it was very dry and bad to the taste. When I brought it back to the counter, I asked the manager for my money back. They gave me a difficult time and insisted I order another beagle. I got a beagle in replacement but they refused to give me back the difference in costs of the omelette to cost of beagle, which came to over $5. I am very disappointed in their customer service. Their food is not of good quality and taste like it was cooked and warmed up from the evening before. This was a simple customer service resolution of giving back money, but instead they choose to insist on another omelette. I told them I would call the police and their response was, go ahead. Poor management conflict resolution skills! I finally got the difference of my money back, after complaining for several minutes. I would not back off because I was right. My temper should have been more controlled, but they could have used better satisfaction customer service skills! Just for a $5 difference they made it a big deal, so so stupid!!! The manager Bobby was very rude arguing with me about writing a review . I live right across the street from this store I came here all the time when it was crosanterie . The place is now makebs and is horrible every time I order they charge extra on the app and then extra in the store as well . I have given this store 4 chances to show me the service is acceptable and every time I'm not surprised two days ago they gave me someone else's order in the store if I didn't check it before I left I'd be sitting here with a sandwich instead of three. This time I get to the the store and they try charging me for grilling by bagel with butter I just paid for a breakfast egg sandwich on the app and they want to charge extra for butter that they already put on a grill to grill with, absolutely ridiculous . I even told him the last 4 times I've been here it's an issue and he just continues to argue with me . Very disappointed with our first visit where quality, service, and value was lacking. The simple ingredients lacked flavor not to mention they forgot to put on the most important ingredient; the dressing. As a connoisseur of coleslaw, theirs had way too much mayonnaise so I couldn't eat it. They also forgot our pickles. It took plenty of time to wait for our order and even more to get it fixed. I love Makeb's, but only the downtown WPB location. Their Okeechobee location has let me down at least 4 times. I love their bagels and food, but how many times can I enter the restaurant to see one person on the register (even though they have 2 registers) and at least 4-5 young ladies just chatting and ignoring me as they stand behind the counter.... seriously. I've worked in the F&B industry for almost 20 yrs and it's common knowledge that you at least acknowledge a customer when they come in. If you're busy, I understand, just say "we'll be with you in a minute." But I sat there in a line behind many people looking at the second empty register as the young ladies chatted and basically ignored the customers. They have also repeatedly messed up our orders...l order for my coworkers as well... how hard is it to toast a bagel? So disappointed, because Makeb's downtown was one of my favorite places to go for breakfast and lunch. The Makeb's on Okeechobee really needs to work on their customer service. Bagels are delicious. Staff: incompetent. I go there EVERY DAY and order the SAME THING and every time that SAME LADY is working in the kitchen, she acts like she can't read my order. It isn't my job to check to make sure it's correctly prepared. When you can DO IT BETTER YOURSELF, you shouldn't have to pay for the service.
