I went to visit my parents and on my way home I decided to visit Makenna Koffee. They are located in a busy little strip mall off Tustin Street. The parking lot was busy, i went in the middle of the afternoon. Since it was my first time trying their drinks, I opted to go inside and look at their menu. I was greeted right away and the employee was very helpful, I asked her opinion on two different drinks. I ended up getting the Pistachio Cold Brew. My drink was good, and I was happy with the flavor. Ambiance 4/5 Service 5/5 Drink 4.5/5
Got the Maui latte and Irish cream cold brew and they were both delicious! Definitely on the sweeter side, like if you wanted a dessert coffee drink. The maui latte was sweet, slightly nutty, and the perfect amount of creaminess. The cream on the Irish cream cold brew was divine! It tastes like vanilla marshmallow fluff, and the coffee had a nice fruitiness to it!
Have been wanted to try their coffee since they opened a few months ago, but the drive thru line was always too long, until today! Their menu is expansive with cold brew, espresso, coffee, smoothies and more. Ordered The Legend iced -- it was cold, flavorful, with lots of caramel drizzle. The staff was very friendly and helpful with my selection -- will definitely be back to try one of the other menu items.
Love the vibe and the many choices!! Lots of workers there to help make ordering a seamless experience. My first time here and I was recommended the first 5 lattes on the supreme section of the menu. I ordered the Cabo San Lucas which is surprisingly the perfect balance of sweet and cinnamon coffee. Also whatever heavy cream they used on top, is seriously amazing!!
If you like your coffee drinks sweet and not taste like coffee, this is the spot for you. Similar to Dutch Bros or Better Buzz. Not my cup of coffee since I prefer to taste the coffee or espresso in my drink. Not a Hawaiian owned coffee shop, but Hawaiian themed which means Hawaiian themed drink names and beachy vibes? I never did find out if they used Hawaiian/Kona coffee or what exactly was their "Maui Milk". Service was friendly and wait time was longer than expected, but they were busy both inside and the drive thru. They have a parking lot and you might want to consider parking a little further in the lot or you might get stuck if the drive thru line gets long, which it does!
VERY SWEET COFFEE - very similar style to Dutch Bros. If I came back, I'd definitely do 1/2 sweet and I'm typically someone who already likes their coffee sweet and I already had an extra espresso shot added to my drink! I got the NORTH SHORE iced latte with a 3rd shot (they offer the 3rd shot for free - which is nice)! The drink was still yummy end enjoyable just way too sweet for my liking. I also ordered an ALMOND CROISSANT which was delicious, flaky, and a good sized serving. NO INDOOR BATHROOMS. But there is a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating at this location as well as a SMALL DRIVE THRU. They do have a LOYALTY program here which is nice to earn points towards eventually redeeming a free drink. Overall a great experience but I'd still rate 4 out of 5 stars because there's no restroom and because of the drink quality. Something to also note: this is a high volume location on the weekends.
We bought caramel cold brew, sandy blonde, and strawberry smoothie. I came in and placed the order on the counter. Less than 10 minutes of waiting and the drinks were ready to go. I forgot to take pictures of the drinks but I did take a picture of the inside counter. It's well-lit inside, plenty of seats, and they have merchs available for purchase. The place has a very casual and laid back vibe! The drinks were great! Coffee was refreshing and a nice pick me up for the afternoon.

The shop has a cute ocean and beach theme throughout, which gives it a fun atmosphere. The space was smaller than it looked online, and it seemed like most people preferred using the drive-thru over ordering inside. Even with several baristas working, the wait was a little longer than expected and took close to 20 minutes for our drinks. Overall, it was a good first visit although the drinks were slightly sweeter than I would have liked.
Such a great find. This Hawaiian owned coffee spot definitely stands out. The drinks are delicious, smooth, flavorful, and made just right every time. You can really taste the quality in every sip. One of the best parts is they offer XL sizes, which is perfect when you need that extra boost or just want to enjoy your drink a little longer. The vibe is welcoming and laid back, making it an easy go-to spot. If you're a coffee lover, this place is definitely worth checking out
I really love latte with macadamia milk and although this is my first time trying at this place, I tried their signature, which is Maui latte and Maui milk is their signature milk even though I'm not sure if it's using macadamia milk or not but let's pretend it is. I think the sweetness is OK. It could be a little less sweet. Maybe next time I would ask for a less sweet like 75% but other than that it's perfect. I can't wait to come back to try their other drinks because they have a pretty big menu for a coffee shop. Hopefully, they will expand their food menus because I love Hawaiian pastries too. All the stuff who worked there are very friendly and smiley. They have a pretty cool set up inside and they offer drive thru too!
Makenna Koffee is a great addition it OC! This coffee shop is so cute inside, has a quick drive thru, and the sweetest baristas. It is super similar to Dutch Bros in my opinion, as they have coffee, blended drinks, energy drinks, teas, and more. On this trip I tried their banana chocolate macadamia nut latte with Maui milk (basically a creamer that tastes like vanilla ice cream). I found that drinks here are pretty sweet so if that is what you are in the mood for, I definitely recommend!
I had seen a viral video of this place from when it first opened. I bookmarked the location and was excited to come try it when I'm in the area. If you don't want to read more of my review, this place is basically a Hawaiian Dutch Bros. If that place is your cup of tea, you'd like it here. I mean, I understand the hype: cute interior, cute drink names, cute logos and designs, and a nicely lit interior. If I had to choose between Starbucks, Dutch Bros, and this place, I'd come here. If I could choose a coffee shop with real brews, I would go there and wouldn't come here. The coffee is subpar and full of milk and sugar like the other reviews have said. I couldn't taste any coffee beans. I had ordered the Cabo San Lucas after being recommended it. I'd love it if I wasn't a coffee fanatic. I'm really disappointed with how much sugar and syrups were put into it. My fiancé got the shaken espresso and even he was off out by it. We also tried their sausage burrito, which was not worth it. The service is also okay. I liked the cashier the most, but the workers here don't smile at you even when you excuse yourself for being in their way. Again, I'd rather get coffee elsewhere or brew my own coffee at home with my Breville.
If you're looking for good coffee, this isn't it. If you like your syrup with a splash of coffee, this is the place for you. I'm not much of a sweet latte/coffee person. This is the Hawaiian version of Dutch bros. They have a variety of drinks and flavors that it is a bit overwhelming. Service was great and fast. The bar was filled with plenty of baristas so it pretty efficient. They have some food options like a breakfast burrito as well but small portioned. There isn't a lot of seating inside and there is some seating outside with umbrellas. However I came on a windy day so there was limited seating inside. I'd say personally this isn't a place I'd come back to for coffee, but isn't a bad place for a coffee fix.

I love coffee - like real espresso not sugar milk. With that said I'm always down to try a new popular spot - even if they have Torani syrups. The menu is extensive to say the least. I ended up with the Irish Cream shaken espresso and it was good but a little sweet which might be bc of the Maui milk which is like a sweet milk. Next time I'll ask for less sweet. We went through the drive through around 8:30 am on a Saturday. The line went by fairly quickly. I had been seeing videos on Instagram and friends recommending this spot so I was excited to finally go. It reminds me a lot of Dutch bros with the staff and set up. I like the variety of drinks and got the cookie butter drink which was very sweet and good. My boyfriend got their cold brew and he loved it. The staff was incredibly friendly! read more

I drove 40 minutes to come here and waited I. Line for maybe 20 minutes and let me tell you... ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT! And I would do it again! The coffee was so smooth! Delicious coffee but really long lines! Waited almost 35 minutes in the drive thru to try this. The drive thru is chaotic since it weaves through the parking lot and people are constantly coming and going. I would probably recommend ordering inside next time now that the lobby seems to be open. Service was friendly but it sure was packed! I asked for a hot latte but it came out iced (even after repeating the order twice with the cashier), line was long so didnt feel like making a fuss. Paid a little over $8.00 total for an iced latte, half filled with ice, felt like I couldve gotten this at Dutch Bros for $2.00 cheaper. Normally when getting any iced drinks I'd ask for less ice but since I asked for a hot latte I wasnt expecting the ice, and for the cup to be filled with half ice really sucks! Finished it in like 4-5 sips. Also maybe consider hiring for diversity? Just a little? (Especially it being a "Hawaiian" coffee joint.. I felt nothing Hawaiian about it.. more like Newport Beach Koffee lol, not sure if they even use Kona coffee beans). If Abercrombie & Fitch had a coffee bar inside its stores, I'd imagine this is what it would look like lol read more
I know that this shop went viral on TikTok and I waited for the hype to die down because I really did want to try their Hawaiian inspired lattes. I went on a random Wednesday and it was still steadily busy, but the line went by pretty quickly, and I got my drink super fast. The cashier was super helpful considering it was my first time and explained to me their best sellers and what makes certain drinks unique. I ended up getting the Maui latte, which was so delicious. The cashier said that their secret is the Maui milk and he described it as "tasting like vanilla ice cream" and it definitely did. I have gone back multiple times and I have tried other drinks, but I keep going back to the Maui latte. Overall, I think that although they are busy, the line goes by pretty fast and they also have a drive-through, which is awesome. read more
First time checking this place out though I've passwd by it many many timea. The place has a very vibey ambiance. Great music. Wonderful staff. Clean and very well lit. The menus a bit overwhelming. Everything looked so good!!! As much as i want to try their heart attack supreme or watermelon red bull, I have to calm myself down and opted for Maui Latte with 25% sweetness. I love the nutty taste and the espresso itself tastes delish. This has indoor place to stay in, relax, and enjoy their coffee. They also have a drive- thru. This place is poppin'. It gets very busy in the morning hour. I will definitely be back to try their other drinks. A must to check out and try. read more

Great addition to the neighborhood! We ordered the Irish Cold Brew, the Legend (1/2 sweet with an extra shot of espresso), and a chocolate milk for our little one. The drinks are on the sweeter side, so definitely glad we went 1/2 sweet. I usually drink iced coffee black so this was a nice treat. Husband liked the Irish cold brew, sweet but not overly sweet. Staff was helpful and answered all my questions. They also now offer food. Bacon burrito was fine, but great deal for $7.50. They're previously frozen, but still got the job done. They don't have salsa, but have hot sauce packets on the side. Inside decor is cute, seating is comfy and everything was clean. read more

There was a long line so I decided to park the car an order in person. There was a line but it went by quickly. I like how they have a big menu. I decided to get an iced cookie butter latte. So excited for another coffee shop that opened in the area, and it's amazing! When we visited it was really busy in the drive-thru, so we decided to get off and order at the tent they had outside since their lobby area was still closed for customers and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Nonetheless, the coffee I ordered was the iced Hawaiian Honey, was delicious and perfectly sweet. Can't wait to return and try other coffee's on their menu! read more
This place has really good coffee I went here this morning the drink I got was The Legend it was good I like the flavor and taste of the coffee it's different from other places I also got the chocolate chip muffin it was good reminds me of a chocolate cake . The employees here were really nice and helpful when I asked what drink was good they have a menu of what drinks are popular I thought that was cool I went through the drive-thru. there was a long line but it went fast I didn't have to wait very long the location is nice I don't think the inside is open yet I can't wait to come back and try more drinks and pastries. Another new coffee spot to add to my list! Just recently opened and it's definitely worth the hype! The drive thru is pretty busy, it's out the plaza and into the streets. The lobby was closed when I went so customers were in line outside by the tent to place their orders. I got an iced toffee nut americano and I LOVE IT! Great quality coffee and the flavor was sweet and nutty! Definitely would order this again but will definitely be back to try other drinks. read more

Really nice people working. The lines finally died down a bit so I stopped by on a Friday morning around 10:30am. There were about 7 cars in front of me & it took a total of 25 mins. They were very busy inside as well, but there were a lot of people working. I ordered "The Taylor" mostly sugar-free. I forgot to ask for oat milk. Obviously my bad, but as a suggestion it would be helpful if the people taking orders could 0ask, "Is whole milk ok?" I was also unaware that they had breakfast options until I pulled forward and saw a menu posted at the drive thru entrance. Asking people if they would like to add a breakfast item/pastry while they're odering in line would probably help sell more. Again, Just a suggestion. The bacon breakfast burrito was small, as expected for the price point (around $8). If you've ever had Jimmy Dean bacon breakfast bowl (which I haven't had in years), it reminded me of that, wrapped in a tough tortilla. My daughter got the cotton candy freeze, which was surprisingly good! Not too sweet & didn't have an overpowering cotton candy flavor. Went back again & tried the Waikiki and the Sandy Blonde with Kona Cloud topping. Both really good, but will try something new next time. Definitely won't be trying any more of the breakfast items, but will definitely return to try more drinks! It's nice to have a new coffee shop in the area and especially nice to have kid-friendly options. I decided to stop by today and try Makenna Koffee since it's been popping in my IG feed. The place looks super cute and the girl who took our order was really friendly. My sister and I ordered two iced coffees (cookie butte latte & Maui latte) and one of their Red Bull drinks. The cookie butte latte was a bit on the sweeter side for me and I did ask for it half sweet. The Maui latte was also sweet but my sister enjoyed it. The Red Bull drinks was enjoyed all around. Our new go to coffee stop!! Staff is absolutely amazing and I enjoy talking to everyone while here. Drive thru is super quick and walking inside is just as quick! We love bringing in our cats Obito and Winston for their dose of whipped cream and giving the staff a little bit of serotonin.
