It's a cute store, sure! Music is too loud, and it's such a cute little store it can't hold that many people. The layout is awful, also. When they pass out a drink they don't say names, and if they do it's so loud nobody hears it. There sucha congestion of people by the pick up spot because everyone has to check each drink they finish because no names are called. It also took 35 min for our drink to arrive. I'll never go back. First time in and got the Beach Cruiser which is one of their tea refreshers. Honestly was really good and the flavors were refreshing. Honestly, I've been holding off for a while now on trying Makenna just because of negative comments I've heard about service (long wait times, errors with drink orders, etc). I also like to give new businesses at least a few months to settle in and get everything in order because I only expect chaos when a restaurant/shop is too new. Well, I finally decided to check it out recently and I've already been back multiple times within the same week lol. They have a huge variety of drinks that it's almost overwhelming reading their menu. But the listed descriptions of what's in each drink is super helpful. I've tried 4 or 5 different flavored lattes so far, and I have loved every single one. But I would say my favorite is the iced Hawaiian Latte (macadamia & coconut) and the Cabo San Lucas (cinnamon latte w/ cold foam). So yes, their drinks are definitely worth the hype which will keep me returning. However, I would agree with others about the slow service. This coffee shop is not the best pit stop if you're in a rush. You should expect a long wait time when coming here, or maybe mobile order beforehand. I have been at all different times and days, and it seems that even on the most random day (ex: a Tuesday at 2pm), it's still just as busy as it is at 10/11am on a weekend. I mean it's good for business that they're so popular, but it seems like the crowd never really dies down. There's also very limited seating inside, so don't plan on sitting inside to catch up with a friend or work on your laptop for hours. At least there are a lot of tables on the outdoor patio, but who wants to sit outside when it's 100° out. It's much smaller inside than expected, so the line can get long and out the door, plus there's not really any space or much of a waiting area to stand while your drink is being made. Everyone is all squished and huddled together by the tables waiting for their orders, which can be for a while. It always seems super loud and chaotic too, and I think that's why the cashier sometimes can't hear what you're ordering. My friend had to correct the barista twice because she didn't understand what she said, and I received a completely different drink than what I had actually ordered. At least they remade the drink for me, but it's just a bummer that a whole drink was completely wasted and was probably just dumped down the sink after. Overall, I would recommend Makenna because of their delicious drinks and various menu options. Service isn't quite the best yet, but I'm hoping over time that they will improve. In the meantime though, I will for sure be coming back to try more lattes. read more

Something seems a little off with the ordering system at this coffee shop...all the mobile orders seem to take "priority" over the customer who walks in to enjoy their coffee at the cafe. I have seen this with other coffee shops too...Instead, I patiently waited 10 minutes for a simple espresso drink, while in the back the baristas, who are nice and friendly, seemed to frantically scramble to get all the mobile, on-line, pickup, mobile app, whatever...orders in before mine.. I work nights at a hospital and forgot to order my coffee until I was running out the door. When it was delivered this is what was written on the cup which I find pretty unprofessional and inappropriate. If it's a problem to make an order before closing either deny the request or change how late customers can order on delivery apps instead of writing passive aggressive messages. My personal faves are the Honey Bee latte, Hawaiian Honey w/ Kona cloud on top, and Matcha with coconut milk. Expect to wait about 10-15 mins after ordering for your drink. Outside the coffeehouse they have a street sign of Hawaiian words like Killer Hawaiian coffee etc. you walk inside and it has a outside swing inside in a little corner of the shop decorated kind of funky . It's my favorite place & it seems to be the kids favorite place as well. Then it has an area like any Starbucks has for doing business on your laptop. Then we have the ordering area. Their coffee is so good! They always have a smile on their face. They are full of patience and even though they are always busy they always take a good amount of time with each customer. They don't rush you. Their pastries are so good! They have a large variety of pastries and coffees. I bought a few pullover sweaters as well as t shirts that they sell. Their clothes are so Hawaiian looking and beautiful. It's a kick back atmosphere and people of all ages go and come there. I feel like I'm in Hawaii when I'm there. Coffee is delicious. We have tried several different drinks and all have been amazing. BUT waiting OVER AN HOUR for a drink you ordered online is ridiculous. People who ordered in store received their drink in 20 minutes yet those who ordered online waited over an hour. Another issue is that if you ordered food along with your drink order, the food comes out quickly so if you wait for your drink your food is cold. All they kept saying is that they are backed up on online orders but yet they could fulfill the in store orders in a timely manner. Not the best customer service to say the least. read more

Brand new Hawaiian-style coffee shop in the Santa Clarita area! As someone who works in this area, I'm always looking for the next caffeine fix and different coffee shops to try. Makenna Koffee opened up not too long ago, and I was excited to try it out for the first time. Today is my second visit, and I must say that I haven't been disappointed yet! My go-to order here has been the iced latte with regular milk. The taste is just the right level of bitter and sweet, and the amount of ice put into the coffee is the right level of chilled goodness. Their menu selection is huge, which is great for diverse customers. Service hasn't been bad either. Since the coffee shop just opened, their staff members may still be undergoing training, so it's good to be patient with their new service. I'll be coming back sometime soon! read more

Like every new place in SCV , the place was packed. The drawback was we waited a good half hour to order and another 20 minutes to actually get the coffee. I get it, there were a lot of people and sometimes you just have to wait. There were plenty of baristas working and trying to fill the orders as fast as they could, but it was a long time to wait. There are plenty of hot and cold drinks along with pastries and breakfast sandwiches. There is seating inside and a nice patio outside. The staff were very friendly and patient, especially with the long line out the door. The menu is a bit overwhelming, but it's definitely good for people who like lots of options.
