Personally, great place for small bites/coffee, but not really a good choice for a full sit down breakfast. First of all: Skip the bottomless mimosas. 90 minute time limit, however it takes over 15 minutes to get your next one even if you drink it right away since they don't give you the bottle, they bring them one by one. They also don't allow you to place more than one order to combat how long it takes for the drinks to come to the table. By the time we finished our food, the second drink STILL never came. Could hardly call this bottomless. Service: The service was good but super slow. We asked for napkins but they never came. And again, the drink service was basically non existent. It was not the server's fault tho, as we noticed she was basically the ONLY server for the whole place even though it was a full house. We saw her serving on the outside as well. Not sure if it's always like this, but it seemed very unfair for her. She was nice, but because it was so busy we never saw her and things got missed. Food: Portions are small, but the food was high quality and flavorful. Everything had great presentation as well. It was hard to choose because everything on the menu seemed good! We ordered: La Paisa Arepa: 4/5, There was more short rib than anything else on the plate, and it was very tender! The server took a long time to take our order and didn't check on us to give us more water. While we waited to order, we saw a cockroach walk by. We ordered food to go on a separate check and the server put it all on one check, which was sketchy since we were asked to tip based on the entire order rather than our dine in order. We maybe went on an off day but we were appalled by how bad the service was. We were told the wait was 15 mins but weren't seated until 30 mins. We were ignored and not greeted by our server for another 20 mins where we rushed to put in our full order. Drinks came out very quickly but then we waited another 30 mins for food. To top it off, we had two kids with us and only one got their food with the rest of us and the other had to wait another 5 mins, which is a long time when already hungry and waiting for so long. The food was decidedly "meh." My morning power skillet had no flavor until I added cholula and the meat was overcooked. The maduros were delicious but everything else was just okay. They had a special going on with the empanadas on Wednesdays where they cost $2 each! I went in on that and tried the berry empanada and the Chicken Tinga Empanada. The berry empanada was not my favorite. It was filled with a berry filling which was too overpowering. It came with chocolate syrup on the side and that to me didn't go well. So this is my boyfriend and I's go to brunch spot on Tuesdays now. Why? Because of their Tuesday weekday special! Steak and eggs! Since the weather has been beautiful, we asked to sit outside. those tables and chairs are sooo close together! There's barely any space to get up without disturbing the party next to us. I was stoked to hear they were opening in my hood..=) The trendy breakfast Makers & Finders decor and vibe is alive and well in this location. There is outdoor seating but I've been inside in my 3 visits here. The servers are consistently so friendly, professional with major good vibes. They're batting 100% here and it's fantastic. The kitchen is quick with getting dishes to the table which I appreciate as a customer and an operator. I've sampled a plethora of dishes with my friends through my current visits. These are my go tos. Empanada sampler - 5 empanadas..all for me. They're tasty because the ingredients are quality. Cafe Con leche - my go to caffeine fix when I visit. breakfast burrito - This is great if you're feeling hungry that morning. I barely can get through it. The place looks like you would order at the coffee bar and then take a seat, but it is walk up coffee bar for guest on the run. You will be seated by on of the wait staff if you are dinning in. To early in the day for me to order a drink, but looking around at the other tables the specialty cocktails looked delicious. The empanadas are okay. Ordered the Shorty Benny which is kinda like eggs benedict, however, the English muffin is on an Arepa and it was awesome along with the egg white omelet. All were very good. The French toast was delicious. We sat outside in the patio (reason for the weird lighting on the photos). It was comfortable and we enjoyed our time here. We went at 10:30am on a Thursday and it was not very busy. They have specials Monday thru Thursday. Thursday it's $5 Mimosas. Wednesday it's $2 Empanadas. I'm a creature of habit and always get the braised chicken arepa with a side of French fries and black iced tea. The garlic aioli for the French fries is to die for.
