I got the roll combo and added a few rolls and the beet app. The restaurant is kind of dark and doesnt have the most seats available definitely wish they had hooks for bags and coats I had to leave my stuff on the floor. The service was ok nothing bad or wonderful. The food was good but also nothing special and sometimes I wasnt even sure what I was eating.

The handrolls at Maki a Mano a Mano were delicious! I got the 4 Handroll set which was perfect if you're hungry but not super hungry. The restaurant is great if you want a quick casual bite. I was taken to a table and served pretty quickly but did not feel rushed.

Tried this restaurant in Chelsea Market after a friend recommended it to me. It has a nice vibe but this is not foodie worthy. The menus are printed on these cheap paper menus but with high end omkase prices (think $10-30/ two bite hand rolls). Honestly I don't care about price if the food stands out but it's just not there. The "sushi chef" is a glorified supermarket sushi chef that was rushing to roll the hand roll as they are serving from halfway down the sushi bar. The rolls are served on cafeteria style paper (what's with the elementary school arts and craft materials?)...I don't understand why they don't spend the extra $ and get a hand roll specific serving vessel like a taco stand or something / anything! Anyways.. They skimp on the fish, the tuna was not even seasoned in the tuna hand rolls and most importantly the seaweed was not properly roasted and is NOT crispy. I'm fricking chewing through and ripping the seaweed apart like jerky.. If you've been to kazi nori or any proper hand roll joint in LA you would understand that this was a cheap knockoff and a shame for pretending to be a hip sushi bar. Two stars for location and bumping music - no stars for food or anything you're actually interested in.

On 09.26.25, was a day to remember! We found this amazing place inside Chelsea market. I give this place 100/100, just wow! From the waiter greeting and sitting us to the food and drinks, I mean just everything. Not only did the food taste phenomenon but the presentation was excellent! It really blew me away! We ordered yellowtail & leche de tigre and hokkaido scallop & gooseberry aguachile from the ceviches option, wow! The three handroll set which was the salmon, lobster and yellowtail. Our drink of choice was lychee vodka highball and chika sake cup. Sitting inside of a sushi bar was different because it was my first time and did not know what to expect. It was worth it! Drink and food menu had great choices and can't wait to go back! I recommend! Thank you guys for a wonderful experience, see you guys soon!

This experience was a 10 out of 10. It is a hidden gem inside of Chelsea Market. It is clean , quiet, bright , and minimal modern decor. You are greeted immediately by a host who walks you over to the bar and explains the menu. You are able to substitute one hand roll out of their pre set roll sets. The yellowtail hand roll was the best one -- super fresh, the fish almost had a citrus flavor amazing!! I also opted to switch fish for a mushroom truffle roll which was a great choice getting a nice rich flavor mixed with the rice and seaweed. I had a lychee highball for drink which was light and refreshing. A must try if you are visiting the market.

I came here on a Sunday afternoon with a friend and got seated almost immediately. I ordered the miso salmon bento box ($29) which came with a large piece of fresh salmon, miso on the side, edamame, and delicious sushi rice! It was very calming and I'd definitely come again!

La comida rica, al paso y económica. La atención buena. Siento le falta un poco de sabor.

My new favorite hand roll spot. A really special, peaceful little bar tucked away in Chelsea Market with such fresh, top-notch salmon, lobster, and yellowtail. Insanely creamy uni from Hokkaido, Japan and a fatty tuna-and-caviar hand roll. The lobster and uni rolls were my favorites. The flavors and ingredients are on another level here than other hand roll spots in the city. Shoutout to Jirho who was the kindest! So warm and welcoming and helpful with ordering. 5 stars!!!!

Maki a Mano is one of the newer spots in Chelsea Market and it's a great addition. Came with a friend for lunch on a weekday at moon, and there was no wait. Service was quick, which was perfect for us (we needed to be in and out in 30). I ordered the 5 piece hand roll set, and the yellowtail hand roll was by far the best. Unagi and lobster were also great. They also have a little stand with onigiri and kakigori, so I'll definitely be back for that. P.S. Check out their sister bar Nbetween!

Visit: Aug 2024 Was so excited to see kakigori but was then super disappointed that the kakigori took forever and was missing the advertised soft serve. I did feel bad for what looked like a solo employee who was manning the booth. I didn't confirm that the soft serve was indeed missing until I was looking at photos later in the day.

I ordered out from the mini quick take out section. Here you can get $5 fresh made rice balls (salmon or tuna), shaved ice and drinks. You order at the tablet and then wait until you get called for your order to be ready. I got the salmon rice ball. It's the freshest you can get it. Served with warm rice, the salmon is mixed with kewpie mayo and served with a sheet of seaweed. The rice balls was a nice quick and affordable option. My daughter shared one with me and she loved it. Definitely will be back in the future.

This is a shared location. We went to the snack stand outside and got the fresh Onigiri. We got the spicy salmon and the tuna. I liked the tuna better than the salmon. It was nice and crunchy arm. The filling wasn't as much as I thought there would be but over all very good.

Saka has a solid offer of Any 3 Rolls for ~$20. Their selection of rolls is more limiting than other places; would love if they had yellowtail or scallop as options at lunch. Nonetheless, the rolls I got were solid! The fish was fresh and the portion was great, the rice layer wasn't thick at all which is a big factor for me, and to my surprise, it came with both a miso soup & salad. The miso soup was pretty flavorful compared to others I've had and the salad came with a sesame dressing that was so refreshing with the crisp salad. I should've kept my order at that as the Crispy Spicy Salmon wasn't worth it. The crispy rice was slightly too hard/over-fried and the portion of spicy salmon was so tiny. The rice layer should be fully topped with salmon, unlike what they gave. It didn't taste half bad but I'd probably skip it next time. If you order for delivery, their insulated packaging is great for transport and temperature control. Solid try!

The menu kind of reflects this struggle too, as it can't seem to decide if it wants to offer more traditional Japanese sushi-ya fare or something more innovative. As a result, we kind of wound up with the middling middle with our choice of 4 specialty rolls: 1) Saku: Probably the best and most traditional of our rolls with salmon and avocado inside, and ponzu, chives and crispy shallots on the outside. 2) Lobster: Not enough lobster salad inside to justify the overuse of miso-yuzu mayo, and just a whole ton of filler nonsense going on outside wrapped in pink soy paper. 3) Drop It Like Its Hot: Not spicy enough to justify the cute name. This should've been an easy slam dunk in flavor, but everything felt kind of bland and flat. Maybe due to the lack of nori. 4) Crunch Drunk Love: Lots of fish, but again, not enough flavor. We also got the Edamame with Spicy Miso Butter, which was just OK--the butter was weirdly sour. I wouldn't order it again. In fact, I....wouldn't really order anything here again.
