Tastes amazing, parents and aunt approved. It is not too sweet, tapioca was soft and chewy, taro and the roots made the dessert feel healthy and light. Overall would come again. Only thing: seating is very limited. There were many Togo orders as a result.

Illegal junk fee. They don't take cash and charge 3% for credit card Report to California AG here: https://oag.ca.gov/report

Credit Card Surcharge (3.00%) Makkee recently added this junk fee. This is a violation of the law. Ordered at kiosk, only way yo pay is credit card, the don't accept cash. So why not just increase prices 3% rather than hiding the fee until the checkout. This hidden junk fee violates California's Honest Pricing Law. Businesses in California are barred from advertising or listing a price that excludes mandatory fees, a practice known as "drip pricing." To get Makkee to drop this junk fee they recently added while you wait for your order please make a complaint to the California AG: https://oag.ca.gov/report

I tried coming here with my friend during the long 4th of July weekend, but the line was super long, and I didn't have time to wait, since I needed to make it back to San Francisco for an art exhibit. We made it our priority to go early over the Labor Day weekend, and luckily, there was no line. Seems the hype has died down some. My friend and I each easily placed orders on the outside kiosk. We then proceeded to find seating indoors but quickly moved outside to find shade since the indoor seats were in direct sunlight. We had to move tables a few times outside as well to chase the shade. When our desserts were ready, the first thing I noticed was how small the portions were. While I understand a lot of the ingredients take time to prepare, I thought the value was just not there considering what we got for the equivalent price of a fast casual meal. The taste was okay, but I left feeling like I could and should just learn to make the dessert at home. Not worth a combine 4-hour roundtrip commute on the Muni and Caltrain for this, but it was at least a good excuse to see my friend.

Overhyped Don't get me wrong, their desserts are not bad (light, not too sweet blah blah blah). We tried their mango pomelo and the taro coconut sago. Both were yummy and pretty much exactly what you would expect. The mango wasn't super ripe and the portions weren't particularly large (but enough for sure). My main gripe is that this place isn't really better than comparable places (like Hui Lan Shan for example). However, the line here is astronomical. Waited a good half hour to order and then another hour to get the actual dessert. Oh ya, there are not enough seats here so we sat on a concrete ledge outside. It's almost like people see a giant ass line and assume its gonna be amazing. Sad part is that the line propagates itself. Long line = more unknowing ppl line up, making it even longer. I would come back but would not wait in line again. This is worth a 5 minute wait, tops.

Seen this spot on insta a bunch. Happened to be near Castro so we decided to try it. It's part of the same structure as the four seasons hot pot place. They have an order kiosk outside where people line up to order, and then you pick up your food inside. Not much space inside but the patio area has quite a few tables. The desserts remind me of meet fresh before the Cupertino one closed. Pretty decent food and not too sweet, but kinda pricey for such a small amount

I've tried pretty much everything from the menu, all hits no misses. Eats: 5/5 - Simple dessert bowls with high quality ingredients, first time I've liked grass jelly and lotus seeds. - Enjoyed every milk tea, even the creme brulee pearl milk tea was not-too-sweet and not-too-heavy. Vibe: 3/5 Small crampy spot mostly for takeout, too claustrophobic inside to sit and hang. Instagram: TianTianEats

Hot spot. Easy to miss on a busy street, so just look for the tall building a few doors from Asian Box. Note, prices are on the higher side for the dessert quality and value. Not a huge cup size. Expect long lines and long wait times throughout the day. Desserts at Makkee Dessert on Castro St. in Mountain View didn't make my top list for good desserts, but it's certainly legit and authentic desserts here. I miss these varieties of Asian type desserts, so it's a good addition to this city. Busy inside. Self service kiosk is conveniently placed outside the entrance doors. It took about 30 minutes after paying on kiosk to get my order today. They process lots of takeout orders daily. I had the watermelon coconut qing bu liang, taro coconut sago, and mango sago with mini tapioca pearls. Surprisingly, the flavors are good, but they didn't give me enough fruits and other additives, so I was a bit disappointed in how watery my desserts turned out and the portions in the takeout plastic cup wasn't as big in size. Interesting first impression. Staffs are detailed and efficient though. Customers looked happy inside. Overall, it's a good dessert spot to revisit. I'll probably try them again next time.

Makkee is a tiny dessert cafe tucked inside a hot pot restaurant in Mountain View. There are only about three tables inside, but they have quite a few outdoor tables. We ordered the Watermelon Coconut and the Makkee Deluxe. Both were served in to-go cups, although I noticed other customers received their desserts in ceramic bowls. Maybe there was an option we missed while ordering on the tablet. Either way, both desserts were so good--perfectly sweet without being too sugary, and very refreshing. The watermelon coconut was especially nice on a warm day. I wanna try all other menu too!

I should have listened to my friend who said this place was alright. My husband was not thrilled to line up for this place and he was right. We came here during 4th of July weekend during their BOGO offer but didn't realize it was only for To-Go orders only. We came 2 hrs before closing and by the time we ordered, each dessert was out of an element. Ordering is only 1 kiosk and seating inside was dirty and sticky. Customer service wasn't attentive and the desserts were lackluster, we didn't enjoy a single one. I liked that they had oat milk alternatives but everything was super bland. I wouldn't come back. Fruit was also sour and nothing as executed well.

Dessert hit the spot! They have a few choices to choose from! We ordered Taro Ball & Grass Jelly Bliss and Taro Coconut Sago! Drinks: 2 Creme Brulee Pearl Milk Tea. Recommended 70% sweetness. There's 3 small tables inside and a bench. Will definitely come back and try the rest!

Delicious Chinese desserts spot that lives up to the "not too sweet" title that Asians lovingly bestow upon desserts. I ordered the watermelon coconut and peach gum milk tea, and my friend ordered the taro coconut sago. We were lucky enough to snag the very limited seating indoors! The line to get to the kiosk is daunting, but definitely moves a bit quicker. I would wager that we got the three items we ordered within 20-30 minutes at night. The watermelon coconut was light and refreshing, the coconut milk was a nice liquid base for the fruits and qq toppings. The peach gum milk tea had a good texture to it that was not too thick, but not too watery/still differentiated from a regular milk tea beverage.

Waiting time to order is 20 mins. And after that i have to wait additional 1 hr to pick up my dessert. Went home and eat my dessert. It missing the rice balls. Nothing alike the menu picture list online.

I attended the first day of their grand opening and waited close to 2 hours from start to end. Typically I give grace because it's a grand opening and I fully expect there to be a wait but 2 hours was just insane. They only had one kiosk to order from which was why the lines were moving really slow. It took about 1 hour 15 mins to order and another 40 mins to get our desserts. We got the BOGO peach gum milk tea and BOGO mango snow black sticky rice. The milk tea was watered down but had a strong jasmine tea flavor. The dessert was surprisingly really good. Mangoes were sweet and it came with a side of vanilla ice cream and black sticky rice on top of the shaved ice. Everything paired well together and was refreshing. It's a bit pricey but I would consider coming back to get the dessert again.

I enjoyed the Ube Cashew Brownie and Milo Cupcake, but would recommend the Ube Leche Flan Cupcake for your first visit. One trend across their offerings is the use of Filipino flavors like ube, Milo, and sweet corn. It makes them stand out in the crowded cafe & boba market.
