Came early Sunday morning, so parking wasn't difficult and the store wasn't too crowded. I got two salt bread flavors: mentaiko and some sort of red bean mochi. The mentaiko filling was good, but the salt bread was disappointingly dry. I took the red bean mochi salt bread home to reheat, and it tasted better that way, but still not sure why people are raving about this place's salt bread. It seems quite average. Maybe I picked the wrong flavors? If I'm in the area again, I might revisit to try some of the other breads and desserts. read more

I came in wondering how a bakery could survive on the salt bread craze alone. I left understanding. Honestly, I only stopped by because I was waiting for the restaurant next door, so expectations were pretty low. Not sure about the lines everyone complains about as we came on a weekend afternoon and walked right in without any line. They were well stocked and had every single option still available too! We tried the mentaiko salt bread, as well as the cream cheese one. The mentaiko is definitely the highlight, while the cream cheese one could probably use a little more filling. I came on a Friday afternoon to finally try this bakery after seeing it go viral on social media and the crazy wait times and previous limits on quantities. Be warned that if you plan to go during peak times or the weekends, parking will be tight. While there is a dedicated parking lot, it is shared with multiple restaurants and completion. There is no longer a limit on the quantity of salt bread you may purchase, but that may be a sign as to the hype dying down. While there was stock for most of the items inside, it was obvious that they weren't freshly baked recently. The bread had started to harden by the time I was there and it didn't scream fresh and warm. I have had much better. I got the egg tart, original salt bread, a garlic salt bread, and a mentaiko salt bread. Since all were fairly hard already, I had to reheat ~15 seconds in the microwave to get the bread soft again. Maybe it's because the bread wasn't fresh and then had to be reheated, but it honestly wasn't worth the hype for me. There is limited seating inside but overall a cute little bakery. read more

I heard about the viral salt bread at Milldang, but I didn't get to try it until today. We came around 10:30am and there was no line. There were a few parties inside but nothing crazy. It looks like there is no limit for purchasing the salt breads any more. They were out of plain salt bread when we came, so we tried the onion cream and garlic cheese. My husband really liked the garlic cheese. It had just come out of the oven so it was still warm. It's hard to go wrong with garlic cheese + buttery goodness, but one thing I would change is to make the bread less sweet. The onion cream was tasty, although I would prefer less cream filling so I can taste the salt bread itself. It's a cute little shop and there are tables inside to enjoy your bread and coffee. I loved how they refilled pastries as soon as they were running out and so the pastries were always fully in stock! Upon walk in, you have to grab a tray and then you can grab your pastries. Milldang in Santa Clara smacked hard. I heard this was the best salt bread in the South Bay so I had to try it myself. I picked up the garlic butter ($4.50), red bean ($4.75), onion cream ($4.50), and Dubai chocolate ($6.25) salt breads. Garlic butter is hands down my favorite. The garlic was tasty, the butter was rich, and the salt level was perfect. 5/5 I grew up on red bean, so that was my second favorite. I don't normally have it with butter but it ended up being really good. 5/5 Onion cream was 3rd on my list. It sort of tasted like a sour cream and onion chip. Very good. 4/5 The Dubai chocolate was good, but I'd skip on it. Cool novelty flavor but I really didn't care for it as much as the other 3. 3/5 They also had pre packaged baked goods, cakes, and coffee alongside the salted breads. Parking can be really tough. I went on a Friday around 12pm and the lot in front and behind the shop was packed. Definitely would come back here. I was thrilled to finally find a bakery that offered salt bread in the Bay Area that I immediately beelined to it! I arrived as freshly baked goods were transferred from the back room to the front pick up area so I bought them as fresh as possible. We bought all the salt bread variations (note there is a limit of 4 per person), they varied from dry to too oily. Worth trying it once but if you've tried the gold standard in Korea (Jayeondoga), you may be disappointed. It just wasn't worth the calories here nor the hassle finding parking. This bakery is located near Hankook Supermarket. We were in the area yesterday, so we decided to stop by to try their bread. I've been hearing a lot about salt bread so I'm on a mission to try as many as I can (not really but kinda). We came at around 3:20pm. To note, they do have purchase limits for their salt breads. We got 2 classic ($3.75 ea), 1 mocha cream ($4.50), and 1 mentaiko ($4.75). The classic was decent; it tasted a little dull. However, I heated one up in the air fryer today, and it tasted a lot better compared to yesterday. It was buttery and slightly salty. The mocha cream was good. I don't have too much to say about it, as my bf ate most of this one. The mentaiko had a strong fish/seafood scent and flavor. It was definitely a contrast to the others. Finally got to try this Korean Bakery. Their salted bread is one of the best because it's both salty and buttery. I also tried different pastries and they're good and reasonably priced. Just today, I tried their cute sausage pastry and i like the drizzle of ketchup on top. Their coffee roti bun is also good. I bought some to go and it tastes even better when heated. Quite expensive for such a small slice of cheesecake, but I will say it was very good. It's a great example of a Basque cheesecake--light and fluffy in texture with a slightly custardy center. There's a subtle almost-salty note (not quite salty, but close) that balances the sweetness really well. The top has that signature slight bitterness from the caramelization, which adds depth and keeps it from being too rich. Unfortunately, the salt bread was already sold out by the time we got there.
