Everything was delicious! We got the Satay Chicken appetizer. It came with peanut sauce, though by itself it had so much flavor and was tender! For our main dishes we got Chicken Chow Mein and Kai Jiew. Both looked decent when they got to our table, but had so much flavor it surprised us! For dessert, we tried the Mango Sticky Rice. I really wanted to love this place. We just moved to the area and began our search for our "go to" Thai restaurant here. The service is great, and they let you know that they are grateful for the business. We started with a combination appetizer platter. Everything on it was especially delicious & I would order any of them individually or on the platter again. For entree the hubs had the first dish on the noodle menu (Mali something) with a #2 heat level. He was very pleased with the dish, fresh ingredients & the heat level was just fine with him. As is customary I ordered chicken Pad Thai because ultimately I judge all Thai restaurants by that signature dish. I was pretty disappointed by it, mainly due to the texture of the noodles which were very starchy & stuck like glue to each other. It was sort of the noodle equivalent of "sticky rice" which I hate. The traditional Pad flavor was quite subdued & over powered by the heat level which luckily I had chosen the mild. We would definitely eat here again, but sadly I will have to find my perfect Pad Thai elsewhere. read more

Very impressive. The Tom Kha soup was seriously the best I've ever had. They were generous with the veggies and protein, and the broth was incredible. Pad Thai was delicious too, perfectly spiced. VERY disappointing after the positive reviews we saw. Soggy spring rolls dripping with grease. Mixed up our orders with regard to spiciness levels, so no one in our party was happy. The drunken noodle, ordered very spicy, was delivered bland. The green curry, ordered mild, was fairly spicy, and was pretty good. We attempted to communicate with staff about the issues, but they clearly did not understand and made no attempt to correct the problems. We may try again but not soon. read more

I cannot tell you how happy I am we have some Thai food in Oro Valley!! I have been traveling the country eating Thai food and asking the good places to move to Oro Valley and open a restaurant For 17 years!! I've been to Mali Thai five times and I have enjoyed almost all the dishes! We love the Panang Curry...absolutely delicious! Pad Thai Is pretty good. The chicken coconut soup, delicious. I was very disappointed in the larb, one of our favorite dishes! It was greasy, no fresh lime flavor at all. It's usually so fresh and clean! No one cared for it! We ordered the pineapple curried fried rice...ok but not for us! We are working through the menu, trying different dishes along with our favorites. I have noticed the serving size is smaller lately and the last time we were in, no one was wearing a mask!! I repeat, no one! Not the waitresses or the cooks! the side of safety and good health!! We are in the middle of a pandemic!! It shows respect for your customers to wear a mask! We are going back and try it again. I really hope the larb improves. And the employees are masked! read more

This is the best Thai food in the area. We are both vegetarian, and most items on the menu are either vegetarian or can be made that way. We have tried about a half-dozen dishes so far and all were delicious! Wait time for takeout was a little longer than usual, but it's worth the wait. Most dishes come quite mild even if you order them spicy, so be sure to tell them what you want. It reminds us of many small Thai restaurants we've been to, which is a good thing! read more

It wasn't very busy when we went in around noon on a weekday so I wondered about this place, but my doubts turned out to be unfounded. I had Chicken Pad Thai and my husband had Shrimp Pad Thai. Both dishes were some of the best Pad Thai we've ever had. The lunch came with a salad with peanut sauce--the peanut sauce was great but the salad was just a plain bagged salad. And they were out of Coke that day. I don't understand some of the negative reviews about this dish--some people mentioned the lack of sauce but Pad Thai isn't supposed to be saucy. I originally took one star off for the bagged salad and no Coke but the Pad Thai was so good I came back to add another star. We'll be back and order Pad Thai Again! read more

My goodness was this delicious. We had three appetizers; satay, fresh roll, and egg roll. We also tried the pad thai, fresh ginger root, chow mien, panang, and the sweet and sour. All were wonderfully seasoned and fresh. As typical in all new restaurants the wait time was quite long but all the staff were attentive and apologetic. We even got the sweet and sour for free since impatient customers decided to leave. We will definitely invest in this place and return. read more

After paying we talked with the owner who was very apologetic, but it was too little too late. Delicious! Lots of flavor and authentic. As appetizers, we ordered the cold veggie roll wraps. The wraps were extremely fresh and the peanut dipping sauce was quite tasty. For dinner we had the yellow curry and massaman curry dishes with rice. YUM! Loved it all! We have eaten at many Thai restaurants and are so happy to have Mali Thai open in Oro Valley with legitimate Thai food! Hidden on the northeast side of the Safeway shopping center on Rancho Vistoso and Tangerine is the best Thai restaurant I've found in Tucson. In reading the reviews about service, my fiancé and I decided to break away from our at-home offices in the middle of a work day and try the place for lunch. Service was impeccable. And the FOOD! Whoa! As others have said, best Thai food around (and the best I've ever had). Tom Khai, the curry, and Pad Thai were all superb. Staff was super friendly, attentive and helpful. Recommend they get larger water glasses (or leave pitchers of water) to help alleviate some of the service constraints though. Their water glasses were like 4 oz cups so she had to come back about 4x just to refill our water. I could see this, alone, dragging down service during a busier time.
