Someone I work with wanted to go. It was again totally horrible. I didn't eat my salad. Sent the whole thing back. It's actually a big bowl of arugula. It's called a GRAIN bowl. There's about 3 tablespoons of quinoa in there. The avocado had a big brown spot. The dressing was nothing to keep this from being completely bland bowl of arugula. But now on to the fries they gave me maybe 10 fries total when you dine in it looks like they give you more based off the pictures...they were fresh though not frozen so that's a plus....worst part about this place is they charge a sustainability fee? Parking was ample. Friendly staff greeted us as we walked in the door. No wait for a table, the place was about half full. Bathrooms were really clean. Service was great. Beer selection was pretty vast and the First Point I ordered was tasty and, credit to the server, my glass was never empty. Good food, good beer! I tried both suggested flights. There was love music and was a little crowded. But I only waited about 15-20 min.

A bit of a drive for those not in Western Malibu as it's in the popular Trancas Market area which now boasts a large grassy area for concerts/picnics right outside the restaurant. On the phone they did say walk-ins are welcome -- but it was an hour wait on a recent Friday at 4:30pm (didn't know there was a concert that night). We could have been seated inside but it was crowded and VERY LOUD with horrible acoustics -- so our party of 5 bit the bullet and waited for a patio table which turned out to be the right move. As for the beer, we enjoyed the coffee porter and the Hatch Chili lager. Food was decent but for a nice gastro pub / brewing company it did not match the level of the beer. Flatbreads, salads, chicken wings all decent but the highlight were those pretzel bites with both cheese sauce and mustard. The dog friendly patio overlooking the concert area was the highlight and the service was excellent. We'll be back -- hopefully on a less crowded evening. read more

Less of a brewery and more of another trendy stuck up Malibu establishment. They think they are Nobu. Showed up at 2pm on a Sunday, normally they have first come first serve seating, switched it to reservations. 1hr and a half wait. Dude at the counter was an a-hole. I have mixed emotions with this place - first off, the name implies "brewing".....but I saw no brewing equipment onsite. Dang, I love seeing shiny fermenters and brewers at work at a "brewing company!".....but, good news, the beer is pretty solid.....no idea who is brewing it for them but the many styles I've tried were good - I haven't eaten here, but the food looks amazing.....just a bit overpriced for me (Malibu!!!) - the last time I was there, a bunch of (what appeared to be) local high school kids had secured tables in a large portion of the dining area and were just too loud, too rude and too demanding.....they kinda had an elitist-vibe that was off-putting....over my many visits I've also witnessed many kids & dogs running amok on the patio.....just not my thing......but the beer is good and hard to not like a fresh beer near the coast! read more

My husband and I stopped by this restaurant on a recent visit to Malibu. My husband had a goat cheese flatbread and I ordered the vegetarian wrap. My husband thought the flatbread was dry, it could have been better with tomatoes or another type of dressing.. He thought the flavor of the goat cheese was lost with the mushrooms, garlic and onions overpowering it. The vegetarian wrap was good but the "chips" that came with it were like deeply fried cardboard. I love fries and chips but these so called chips were terrible. We've been wanting to try this place way before Covid. It took forever to open up and when it did, it's constantly busy.

My fiancé and I came here during the Autumn market. We were sat immediately off to the side near the window/hostess stand. However we waited for about 15-20 minutes until having to stop someone to ask them if they could help us find someone to take our order. The brewery was moderately busy which we 100% take into account but it was odd not having any greeting from a server after so long. We stopped the host and asked for help and he said "I'm not a server but I can take your drink order if that helps you." which felt like a weird response. He took our drink order then had a bartender come over to take our food order. She came over and said "Are you wanting to eat?" without introducing herself, apologizing for the wait or anything. We ordered and she immediately walked away. Food was good but service felt very judgmental and cold. Staff also appeared unhappy and a bit angry all around the restaurant. We received our food and had to wait 5 minutes to find someone to get us silverware and the food was a bit cold by the time we got it. Not to mention we were never given water or any refills on our drinks after being there 2 hours just waiting for people to help us. Couldn't get help getting our bill as well. Wouldn't come here again because of how horrible the service was :/ read more

My son and I had our regular mother and son quality time lunch date and decided to try this place in Malibu, since it was a beautiful day, and we had other business there. We got to sit outside and found our booth to be very comfortable. The seating was perfectly spaced for added comfort. The sun was out, and there was a nice, light breeze. Since it's also a micro-brewery, it seemed mandatory to try one of their brews. I ordered the Sand and Sea Mexican style lager, and it did not disappoint. It was so delicious and went down so smooth. I ordered a smash burger with the waffle cut chips, and my son ordered chicken wings with lemonade. Everything was amazing and perfectly wonderful, including our friendly, attentive and gracious waitress. We were pleasantly surprised, knowing that new places sometimes can disappoint, but I assure you this one exceeded all expectations. After the meal, which was most satisfying, we did not feel overly stuffed, bloated or uncomfortable, which is very important. It was just the right amount of good food, prepared in just the right way. The smash burger was exceptional and very unique. My son enjoyed his wings so much that much of their sauce wound up on his face and hands, no time for napkins, time for eating. LOL Everything was just right. All and all, it was a lovely experience and terrific day. We will be going back. I would highly recommend it. It is a lovely little gem and a great addition to the Malibu community. read more
