I came here with my wife and friend on a trip out in California. We were driving along the coast after doing some hiking and wanted to find a place to grab a bite to eat. Malibu brewing is conveniently located right off of route 1 in a very nice shopping plaza that you can walk around in. For my meal here I had the braised short rib sandwich with chips and au jus. The chips were pretty good and the jus was a nice moist flavorful dipping sauce. The cut of meat wasn't the greatest in the sandwich and was a bit chewy. This is why it's a 3 star for me. However, my wife and friend both enjoyed their meals and the food looked pretty good. Definitely a cool spot to check out along the coast. read more

They just opened like a week ago, and we loved it! We often come to Malibu over the weekend to hang out on the beach, so I feel like this place will be our go-to place for brunch. We were seated outside with our dog, and there were 2 other large-size doggies. They can give you a water dog bowl as well. Our server, Skyler was really nice and got us a custom beer flight after telling her we like lighter beer in general. I liked Canyon (rosé lager) and Happy Days (honey blonde ale) among 4. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations for food thinking it'd be like a regular bar type of food, but they had plenty of healthy options and they can make most of the menu vegetarian or vegan upon request. I thought this was very thoughtful and inclusive for those who have specific diet restrictions. We had Fish Tacos and Beachside Burrito, they both tasted delicious! Wow wow wow!! We casually stumbled upon this place when stopping to take a break from our drive. The beer and drink selection has something for everyone! I also truly appreciated the shared plates which were prepared with love. It was so refreshing to have veggie options served with the dip and the pita was excellent too! They also offer two different charcuterie boards and I'm pretty sure our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. The outdoor dining area was lovely (in fact we spotted a member from *NSYNC who was casually enjoying the day with his family. I've been wanting to go here since I heard about this place. And I was not disappointed. I had a churro Porter and my husband had hazelnut stout. I could taste the cinnamon in my churro which took a little getting used to, but then I really enjoyed it. I had grilled shrimp tacos and my husband had a breakfast burrito. They were both excellent. We are locals who appreciate a dinner place that is not exorbitantly expensive. The MBC is a most welcome addition to our community. The beer is outstanding, and the food is very good. My favorite entrees are the Smash Burger and the All-Day Breakfast Burrito, while my wife loves the fish tacos. Ask for the chef's special salsas if you're getting that. Brought son, friends and family here after hiking nearby in Malibu. The food was excellent and while I did not have an opportunity to try the beer, friends who have been there have enjoyed the selection. The server checked in on us frequently enough where we felt taken care of but not too much. While the restaurant was a bit noisy, it's because it is a brewery and popular. Very disappointed. I git the Smashburger, basket of sweet potatoe waffle fries, & wings. I asked for ranch & blue cheese for the wings but only got blue cheese. I asked for ketchup for the fries & got none. The "basket" of waffle fries consisted of 8 waffle fries. The price $9. The 3 items above were $50 & it was too little for too much. Drove by and saw this new to us restaurant. It was a Saturday so I assumed it would be busy around 1:00 pm. They got us a table in 10 minutes. We ordered the table fries as an appetizer and they were thick and crunchy. Really good with the flight of beers. I had the quesadilla and my husband had the nachos. My quesadilla was very good. Earlier this month, my friend enthusiastically suggested this place, raving about their exceptional burgers and beers. A classic combo that happens to be right up my alley. Naturally, I couldn't resist and decided to make it a priority in my burgeoning Yelp review journey!! The view too from the tables outside was an added bonus. Our server (can't remember his name lol, but he had long wavy hair. Nate or Nico haha) was knowledgeable and gave us a nice run down of the beers and their qualities (hops, flavor notes, etc.). He also went into detail about the main menu and specials that day, which we both appreciated. Moreover, he turned out to be a fellow anime enthusiast and it felt like he took genuine interest in who we were! After downing a couple pints, he convinced us to try a truffle flatbread (fyi, i'm not a big fan of truffle oil) that we ended up enjoying A LOT. We even saw the head chef going up to tables and personally greeting customers during our meal. You rarely see that these days.. I found this place searching on Yelp and looking for a spot in Malibu to enjoy the vibes. The parking is easy, at least it was for us for dinner. The food was reasonably priced for the great quality and taste. We had the blackened salmon fish tacos and beachside burrito. The corn tortilla tasted freshly made and the fixings on top were great. It came with three good size tacos and not the normal tiny three you may expect. The burrito was also a good size to where we couldn't finish it all. The service was equally as good. They are pretty busy for the staff they had and we never felt that we were waiting long. The food came out quickly too. And their beer is EXCELLENT! We sampled three of their beers and choose the Pink Boots IPA and the Canyon Rose Larger at the recommendation of the server. Both were great! read more
