Crab and asparagus omelet. Both cream cheese and asparagus was a huge surprise n delight. Cheese grits tasted nice as well.

Astonished that because of a freeway sign food advertisement for Malones that we had the best breakfast/ brunch of the year. Nice high rated restaurant with great food. Our waitress Tori came to our table 8 times inspecting without encroaching or bugging us and wish all waitstaff elsewhere could see how simple it is to give the best service! But the food as well was superb! Thanks to the posting on this freeway sign in Lexington we found this hidden gem! I included the dinner menu which changes but those wanting to see it too. Our plane ride could not have started any better after this classy find!

After many years, this is still one of our favorites! The quality and service can't be beat, and this is one of our favorite Malone's locations. The Lexingtonian is a salad we crave, the calamari and crab dip are both spectacular appetizers, and there are so many entrees that we love. Great steak and shrimp top the list. For a special occasion or a casual lunch, you can never go wrong with Malone's.

We came to Malones to celebrate a birthday and have a fun girls dinner. Our food was delicious, server very attentive and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was perfect! We had so much fun. Great food, great time!

Fantastic service from Davin. Second time had him as our server and he makes for an extremely pleasant meal out. Had multiples of the fresh bread per usual and I ordered the Mediterranean dips appetizer (happy hour special) and for entree their New York strip with shrimp chimichurri that comes with Lexingtonian salad and classic side. The dips were decent but didn't love how they fried and seasoned the pita bread. Next time if I order it I'll ask if can get plain pita because the seasoning was overpowering and I order those dips as a healthy option which is countered by frying the bread (ended up just using the bread for the table which worked well). The Lexingtonian salad was perfect for me with it being extra ranchy and lots of bacon and my steak was cooked perfectly but was super salty and the skin of my potato was covered in salt. I'll need to remember to ask for no salt next time but wish they'd just leave salt off everytime. Got the cookie and ice cream for dessert and when you get that bite in the middle with the super warm cookie and ice cream it is something you'll keep thinking about after. Overall, a great meal despite the excess salt because the service was impeccable and the value for everything you get is incredible.

Breakfast Burrito

I have ate at Malone's several times but this was my first time trying the brunch menu, and it did not disappoint my favorite was the quiche because the cheese sauce on top with all the bacon tasted delicious. The potato's were surprisingly good as well, as I thought they looked a little dry, but the taste was so good. This was my first time trying a breakfast burrito and it was chocked full of all your typical breakfast fixings that potato's, eggs, bacon, and more.

Always will recommend a reservation! Service has always been on point and been I've always been well taken care of. The ambiance is chill but also romantic. I've never gotten anything bad with service, food or experience. The sushi is a must for me, along with the filet, potato croquettes and the Pixie Stick cocktail! My husband and I are regulars to Malones! I also always choose to dine here for my birthday!

First time trying Malone's new weekend brunch! They had a limited menu but something for everyone. The lemon ricotta pancakes were exceptional. They had the perfect amount of fluff and the lemon taste wasn't overbearing. We ordered the breakfast burrito but got it "naked" aka without the tortilla and it was so delicious. My only gripe would be that the avocado toast wasn't toasted. It was just on a soft piece of bread which was disappointing. I opted to get the eggs scrambled instead of sunny side up as the menu states and I'm glad I did because with the bread being untoasted it couldn't support the weight of the avocado or eggs enough to hold it with my hands. Our service was amazing! The renovated inside is so nice! I loved their new booths. I would go back and try some of the other breakfast dishes!

Let's not bury the lead...the team at Malone's is world class. Out bartender, Matt, took fantastic care of us. Letting us know of all the spots in Lexington. A few nights before, Tyler treated us to exceptional service. HH is off the charts!

This location is THEEE top tier steakhouse in Kentucky! Signatures of Chefs, Singers, Football Players, and so on, that have visited the restaurant and signed their name on a memorabilia , that hangs along the restaurant walls. I visited in a group of 3 to discuss feedback from a camp that had been completed, during the week. Even though it was storming and raining Clydesdale horses, we managed to make it safe. Top tier customer service! From the waiter's mannerisms, his knowledge of bourbon, the smile on his face of enjoying "the pleasure to assist you with anything you need tonight ". Amazing etiquette young Man!! I'll figure out his name. He needs a raise and I made sure to tip him accordingly. Food was exceptional! From the apps of Parm crusted fried asparagus, THAT CRAB RANGOON ROLL (bussinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn), the filets, salmon picatta, THAT BREAD & CHIVE BUTTER, and anything that says "garlic, lemon, Parm". They have a great system in place here! Genius! Kisses to all the Chefs and bar backs and bartenders and waitresses and waiters and expediters !!!!!! Front of House Staff and most importantly those that make sure the facility is spotless at all times.....and the Dishwashers!!! I'll be back! Bourbon everywhere!!

Quiche with Home Fries

Great weekend brunch with amazing service and upscale ambiance. The lemon ricotta pancakes were fluffy and not too sweet. Quiche and breakfast burrito were both a little salty but still flavorful and packed. Food wasn't too rich, perfect for a brunch meal. Portions are also very generous for the price.

Arrived around 7:30pm on a Thursday. It was busy. There were not many tables open, however, we found a table big enough to seat six of us but just needed to be cleaned. Asked for the table to be cleaned out and it was done. We sat, ordered drinks including beers, unsweet tea and water for each of us. The server was very nice and kind, drinks were brought out in about five to ten minutes. Then we placed our main dish orders along with some appetizers. Most of us ordered steaks with rare, medium-rare and medium cooked. However, one steak that was supposed to be rare looked more like medium or even medium-well done. Regardless, the steaks were really good and even the menu says 10oz, it looked like it could be 16oz. Also, steaks came with one side - corn, mashed potatoe, asparagus, broccoli, fries or mc and cheese. One of the sides was brought out wrong when we ordered broccoli, the server brought out corn. I had Grilled Salom Piccata. It was amazing! Huge juicy salmon fillet on top of linguini, the portion was too much to finish in one seating and I normally don't leave the dish unfinished but I could not get linguini cleaned off of the plate. When we ordered an additional beer, again, we got the wrong beer. It's pretty expensive restaurant/bar looking at the menu and orders seem to be not placed correctly. Steaks not being cooked as we asked and wrong sides/beer being brought out. However, the server was very nice, just few mistakes we just had to address. Overall, good dinner experience and the place got really slow after 8pm/8:30pm -ish.

An Absolute Standout in Lexington Dining…read more We decided to give Blue Heron Steakhouse a try after noticing it shared a name with another restaurant in a neighboring county--though it quickly became clear this is a completely different (and exceptional) establishment. Encouraged by strong local reviews praising its cozy, rustic, and intimate atmosphere--along with consistently attentive, friendly service--we walked in with high expectations. Blue Heron exceeded them at every turn. From the moment you enter, the original rustic design and softly ambient lighting set the tone for a dining experience that feels warm, inviting, and effortlessly refined. There's an intimacy to the space that makes it ideal for both special celebrations and elevated everyday dining. Service was outstanding, with special recognition going to our server Carlo. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making the evening exceptional. The entire staff demonstrated professionalism and confidence, offering thoughtful recommendations and personal touches that enhanced the experience without ever feeling intrusive. The menu reflects a clear commitment to farm-to-table dining, showcasing some of the finest locally sourced ingredients available. Every dish balanced innovation with comfort, allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine. We began with the baked brie, which was luxuriously creamy and indulgent in all the right ways, followed by West Coast oysters--a smart sourcing choice by the owner. They were impeccably fresh, beautifully plated, and delivered that perfect briny finish oyster lovers crave. For the main course, we selected the Porterhouse Steak for Two, which proved to be the most cost-effective option and an outstanding choice overall. Charbroiled to perfection, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and deeply flavorful, the steak was a true centerpiece of the meal. It's served with four sides and accompanied by house steak sauce upon request, with excellent optional additions such as green peppercorn sauce, béarnaise, grilled onions and mushrooms, or bordelaise. The creamed spinach deserves its own praise--it was unlike any we've had before, rich and perfectly executed. The kitchen clearly understands steak preparation at a serious, professional level. Dessert was the perfect finale. Though not typically a carrot cake enthusiast, this version was exceptional--moist, warmly spiced, and beautifully balanced. It was, quite literally, just what the doctor ordered. The cheesecake was equally impressive: silky, restrained in sweetness, and refined. A word of advice: don't forget your wallet. Blue Heron Steakhouse delivers premium quality food and top-tier service, and prices reflect that level of excellence. That said, the experience justifies every dollar. Blue Heron is the kind of restaurant you return to with confidence. Whether marking a milestone or transforming an ordinary Tuesday into something memorable, it consistently delivers. For those who appreciate exceptional steaks, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that feels both intimate and elevated, Blue Heron Steakhouse is an absolute must-visit.

We had reservations but ended up getting there early and just had our dinner at the bar. We both had cocktails which we enjoyed along with the deviled eggs for an appetizer. The eggs were okay--a bit spicier than I would have preferred and I would probably try a different app next time I go (there will be a next time for sure!) My shrimp and grits were great but honestly the bourbon glazed wings that my fiance had were the show stoppers. Large sized wings that were smoked perfectly with the right amount of crunch topped with a sweet but not too sweet bourbon glaze. I will definitely get those next time I go. Good price, good quality. No complaints there. For food, we had a mix at the table: fish, steak, and burgers. The fish was off. The texture was strange, almost like the skin had been left on even though it wasn't, and it had a fishy taste that just wasn't right. The burger, on the other hand, was very good and easily the best value of everything we tried. If I ever go back, that's probably what I'd order. The biggest disappointment was the service. Our server clearly wasn't having a good day, didn't seem interested in us, and let our drinks sit empty long enough that we had to wave him down just to get refills. It really took away from the experience. I'd give the place another shot, but if the next visit ends up feeling like this one, it'll probably fall off my list of places to go.

As usual, we both got their Nighthawk special which is a large steak floating in garlic butter, a huge baked potato and a Diego salad. Though my first steak came out a bit overcooked and I had to have them remake it, the final result was fantastic. Both steaks were thick, hot and flavorfu, just as I remember. The potato was not only hot, it came with a quarter stick of butter on the side and a large cup of sour cream on the side - both of which made the very flaky potatoe heavenly. They also have very good rolls which were not real hot today but were still very good. The decor continues to be on the used side with the seats being lumpy, but the food could not have been better. Columbia Steakhouse proved to be exactly what we were looking for, and then some. Located in the heart of Lexington, Columbia Steakhouse exudes an understated elegance that's perfect for business travelers. The atmosphere strikes that ideal balance: upscale enough to feel special, but relaxed enough that you're not overly formal. The lighting is warm and sophisticated, and the noise level allows for easy conversation--a detail that business diners always appreciate. Our server immediately understood our time constraints and moved things along seamlessly without making us feel rushed. This kind of professional service is rare and deeply appreciated when you're on a tight schedule. I ordered the 14-ounce ribeye, cooked medium-rare, and it was a masterclass in steakhouse execution. The exterior had a beautiful char that provided a subtle smoky flavor, while the interior was perfectly pink and remarkably tender. The marbling throughout ensured every bite was rich and flavorful. What impressed me most was the quality of the beef itself--you could tell this was prime cut meat, properly aged and prepared by someone who knows their craft. The steak came with their signature steak butter, a compound butter with herbs that melted luxuriously over the hot meat, adding another layer of richness without overwhelming the beef's natural flavor. My sides were equally impressive: a loaded baked potato with all the fixings, cooked until the skin was crispy and the interior fluffy, and their grilled asparagus, which had a perfect char and snap to it. My wife chose the filet mignon paired with a lobster tail, and from her first bite, I knew she'd made the right choice. The filet was butter-tender--the kind of cut that practically melts on your tongue. Cooked to a perfect medium, it had that delicate, almost velvety texture that only a properly prepared filet can achieve. The peppercorn sauce she added complemented the beef beautifully without overpowering its subtle flavor. The lobster tail was equally outstanding. Perfectly cooked (no easy feat, as lobster can go from perfect to rubbery in seconds), it was sweet, succulent, and generously portioned. It arrived already butterflied and brushed with drawn butter, making it easy to enjoy. She paired her entrée with the garlic mashed potatoes, which were creamy and indulgent, and the Caesar salad, which featured crisp romaine, house-made dressing, and fresh parmesan. Columbia Steakhouse understands that business travelers value efficiency. From appetizer to dessert, our meal was perfectly paced--we never felt rushed, but we also never experienced those frustrating gaps where you're waiting unnecessarily. Despite being on a schedule, we took advantage of their bourbon selection (we were in Kentucky, after all), and the staff provided excellent recommendations. The bread service deserves special mention--warm, crusty rolls with whipped butter arrived promptly and were outstanding. Small touches like this set great steakhouses apart from good ones. While we were focused on our entrées given our time constraints, we couldn't resist sharing their chocolate lava cake for dessert. It arrived warm with a molten center, accompanied by vanilla ice cream--a perfect sweet ending to an exceptional meal. The Bottom Line Columbia Steakhouse demonstrated why it's a Lexington institution. The quality of both our meals was outstanding, the service was professional and attentive, and the restaurant accommodated our business travel timeline without compromising the experience. The prices reflect the premium quality--this is not a budget option--but for a special business dinner or important client meeting, the investment is absolutely worth it. Whether you're a local or just passing through on business, Columbia Steakhouse delivers on every front. We left satisfied, impressed, and already planning a return visit the next time work brings us to the Bluegrass State. Highly recommended for business travelers, special occasions, or anyone who appreciates expertly prepared steak in a refined yet welcoming atmosphere.
