I am a sucker for garlic seared salmon so I loved this!! Everything was super fresh and had the perfect amount of flavor. Nothing too overpowering which made it easier to just keep eating. The free miso soup for dine in was really nice too. Great service! I'd highly recommend!

The photos looked so good that I had to check this place out! They offer both pre-made bowls and a build-your-own option, which I'm familiar with. I chose to build my own since their preset bowls were similar to others I've had. They offer mentaiko ahi and wasabi furikake ahi...both new to me. I wanted to try both, but since it was my first visit, I went with their popular limu option. You also get to pick two sides and all the toppings you'd like. We ordered a hand roll as well, and it was huge for the price, such a great value!! Overall, everything was delicious and definitely worth it. I would for sure come back for the handrollllllls.

The best poke bowl spot for variety and options. Mama Kim's is only a short bus ride from the Waikiki strip of hotels. I saw them on my IG reels and was stoked to come for a late lunch before an evening of surf. Their menu is extensive. I was low-key overwhelmed, so just went with the one that caught my eye. I love me some natto, and the Neba Neba caught my eye with that slow-cooked runny egg. I ordered as takeout, and they made my bowl within 10 mins. Super friendly and chill service. They also have local cans of juice and coconut waters for sale. Neba Neba was good, but I think I would try another bowl next time. If you're not a fan of runny texture, I would go for something else. My bowl was so colorful and healthy, I def got good ratio of protein to rice. Hella fresh and didn't leave me bloated.

Be sure to check out their Specials. Have enjoyed everything that we've ordered from all of our visits. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is something for everyone, including our kids.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you dine there you get a complimentary miso soup. The sushi burrito is great for on-the-go. The food is really good n' has me coming back for more!

Mama Kim's delivers bold flavors without trying to be flashy, and the spicy habanero trio is a great example of that. Each item had its own personality, but they all shared the same deep heat and seasoning that felt intentional rather than overpowering. The habanero spice built gradually and stayed balanced, letting the flavor come through instead of just the burn. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared, with portions that felt satisfying without being excessive. Service was warm and straightforward. Orders came out promptly, and the staff was happy to explain the menu and make suggestions, which is always appreciated when you are trying something new. It felt welcoming and unpretentious, the kind of place where regulars are clearly known. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is casual and comfortable, with a neighborhood feel that encourages you to relax and enjoy your meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nothing overdesigned, just a space that matches the food and keeps the focus where it should be.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, Mama Kim's is a solid go to when you want something flavorful, spicy, and thoughtfully made. I would gladly return to explore more of the menu.

We walked a five mile round trip from Waikiki to find Mama Kim's after reading an article about the best poke on the island. Mama Kim's delivers! The fish is fresh, the rice is perfect and the crab salad is bomb. Didn't try the poke with sauce on it as a sashimi purist but would go back in a hot second! Super nice staff as well!

First stop to get poke, etc. For good parking in the side street. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's right in the business district on King St., so probably super busy on the weekdays.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got lucky! Food was good, and it was a good so before going to Waiks.

I love Mama Kim's. My uber eats history will confirm this lol I've literally ordered from them two days in a row.. My go to is always a two choice poke bowl, usually with spicy ahi and shoyu ahi. Comes with 3 sides, I usually go with avocado, crab salad and takuan. Definitely add on the toppings such as furikake or garlic chips! Bowls have the option of regular white rice or sushi rice (always get the sushi rice)! The fish is always fresh and good quality! I've also tried the Kilauea bowl which was seared salmon and spicy salmon with toppings like crab salad and unagi sauce. So yummy!! No question that I will continue to support them!

One of the top poke spots we went to. I love all the customizations they do to their poke and everything was perfect. I still dream about this place from time to time.

Love their poke bowls! I got their spicy ahi with avacado poke bowl! This hit the spot! One of the best poke bowl spots on the island! Sooo good!

Mama Kim's famous poke was a delicious last meal in Honolulu. We got a half salad, half sushi rice bowl with soy salmon and tuna sashimi, seaweed salad (extra seaweed), cucumber salad, crab salad, garlic chips, furikake, Bubu Arare, and a spicy Ahi handroll. The poke was fresh, flavorful. The Pokéman were super friendly and we received a top notch service! A perfect goodbye to the island's food scene.

There are meals one enjoys. Meals one admires. Meals one respectfully documents, notes the flavor balance of, and later describes using words like "elegant" and "well-executed." And then there are meals that rock your world. This was one of them. Kaiten sushi, or conveyor belt sushi, is a casual, affordable Japanese dining style invented in 1958 where plates of sushi rotate on a motorized belt passing diners, allowing them to select dishes directly. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, it's not the typical catwalk of pre-made maki rolls, nigiri, and other offering. You order off a kiosk and then it is fast-tracked to your table via sushi belt. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, you are granted the ability to try their Edomae-style sushi for a more affordable price. Edomae-style sushi is a traditional Tokyo cuisine originating in the 1820s, featuring seafood, often cured, marinated, or simmered, served atop rice seasoned with red vinegar (akasu). It focuses on enhancing fish flavor through technique rather than just raw freshness, historically acting as fast food for 19th-century Edo residents. That said, dare I say the best meal I had during my stay on Oahu? I DARE! This was an excellent place suggested by Randy S. I really can't tell you all we had because Randy took charge but every bite? Certified bangers. Not one bad bite had. My biggest complaint is the iPad menu. It felt cluttered and is harder to navigate than it should be with all the tabs and pages. It's like trying to find hidden items. The selection is also pretty limited, so there isn't much variety. I can see what they were going for with the Japan-style conveyor belt experience, but it doesn't quite compare. The staff was friendly and efficient, though there isn't much service involved beyond seating you and clearing plates. Overall, good quality food, but I was hoping for a wider selection. I'd go again, but maybe once a year similar to many people that've gone here.

After walking around, the hostess asked if we had a reservation. I gave her my name, but she said we didn't have one, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. She then explained that our reservation was actually at their sister restaurant around the other side of the building. We went over there and found that it was primarily a sushi restaurant, which wasn't really what we were looking for. We had expected more of an izakaya-style experience, so we canceled the reservation and returned to the original restaurant. Once seated, the service was good and our server was attentive throughout the meal. One thing that was a little confusing was that sushi and sashimi had to be ordered from the sister restaurant, even though we were dining in the other restaurant. The food was brought over and served to us without any issues, and there were no problems with the bill, but it took us a while to understand how the two restaurants operated together. We ordered several dishes, including chicken skin wrapped gyoza, crab tempura, an assorted sashimi platter, a cream cheese and fish roe appetizer served with toast, an egg dish topped with fish roe, chicken karaage, and the miso butterfish. The highlights for me were the chicken karaage, miso butterfish, and gyoza. I enjoyed them enough to order another round of the gyoza and chicken. That said, many of the dishes leaned toward the sweeter side of Japanese cuisine, which just isn't my personal preference. If you enjoy those flavors, your experience may be different. Overall, the food was good, the service was solid, and there were a few standout dishes. The confusion with the reservation, entrance setup, and relationship between the two restaurants got the evening off to an awkward start, but the meal improved once we were seated. I'm not really a Japanese food person, so four stars is probably the highest rating I could realistically give a Japanese restaurant. With that in mind, I thought they did a good job, and there were a few dishes I would consider ordering again.

The chefs and staff also had a good sense of humor. Everything was simply delicious! Fast forward a few months, I order a couple sushi sets to host a poolside, golden-hour birthday get together at my other friend's home. (I know, you want to be part of this squad, right?!). Anyway, using the online order system is a snap! My hubby went in to pick up the sushi and said they were slammed but our sushi sets were ready to go. This time we ordered some ikura because the hubby and my bestie are big fans. Both agree it was fresh and fantastic! And the garlic set with the flash-seared fish and a hint of mayo is a MUST-try. We also ordered a California roll for my friend's aunt who is not really a sushi fan. She delighted in several pieces and even enjoyed the nigiri from the garlic set. Total convert! After enjoying the platters and sets, we had to try the bentos and bowls. This time it's just us and the pup at the park. The bentos provide a great variety and comes with miso soup. The hubby really likes the shrimp tempura with ahi and salmon nigiri and ahi poke. It's a steal at less than $20. I'm a bowl girl myself and like the spicy tempura. The tempura is cooked crisp yet tender. The spicy ahi poke combined with the creamy crab salad and the crunchy ocean salad delights all my tastes buds. It's truly an adventure in finding the perfect bite--and there are so many in this bowl! I also love the seared salmon bowl. It is melt-in-your-mouth goodness. I add the fried onions for some texture. You know a place is top-notch when you can feel confident that anything off their menu will satisfy your cravings. Because this is a Yelp review, here are some helpful tips. For sushi platters, pre-order. The online system is simple to use. Service is fast and efficient if you're just walking in for a quick bite or to grab something to go. Parking has always been easy for us to find in the small lot in the complex where Domo is located. It's right next to Assagio's Kahala. But if you're worried about parking, I suggest ordering in advance and then just picking up. This works great during peak dining hours. If you want fresh, delicious sushi that is reasonably priced be like us and visit Domo Café. You will probably also be like us and want to go back to try more.

This was my dinner day 1 of my trip back home. So delicious that I ordered again on the last…read moredinner of my trip! Spicy ahi bomb and Garlic salmon $18 - it's worth it for 8 quality pieces. The garlic salmon didn't have too much smokiness which I liked. They are not stingy when filling the inari with the spicy ahi. I did online ordering for easy pick up since the parking lot can be filled during dinner rush.
