Mama Mimi's is a tasty and convenient take and bake pizza place. They send very clear and easy baking instructions home with you, and it's a very easy process. They have a wide variety of choices, including multiple crust options (white, honey-wheat, gluten free, cauliflower), sauces, and toppings, and they also offer custom options from which to select. They also offer salads, lasagna, garlic cheese bread stix, cheesy bread loaf, and desserts. This location shares the space with a beer and wine store, so you can also pick those up while you're grabbing your pizza. Everything we've tried has been good, and some of the items we especially enjoy include the Moltansanti combo, the meatball pie, the garlic cheese bread stix, and the Italian vinaigrette for the salads. The parking lot is small and can get crowded. The staff is friendly and efficient. read more

I'm a pizza fanatic. Mama Mimis isn't just good take and bake pizza, it's good pizza, period. If you follow the instructions, or even get really radical and turn your oven up a little higher to 475-500, and use a pizza stone, you can bake pizza at home that is better than any delivery pizza. Oh, and I laughed really hard at the review that said they couldn't get the raw dough off the paper. It's parchment paper, you bake it on that! I don't really like the giant pepperonis but they offer smaller pepperonis. Can't remember the name for them but if you call I'm sure it's something that can be figured out. I actually prefer to order non traditional pizzas here, the Marmaletta is amazing. Their email subscription has good coupons pretty often. At full price this is definitely on the expensive side, but we like the Marmaletta so much that I have to admit occasionally paying full price. read more

Not sure what the other raving reviews are about? I had high hopes for the pizza, but overall it's really mediocre and not something I would buy again. Honestly, I would rather eat frozen pizza from Kroger (which is just down the street by the way). It's cheaper and way better. I really can't justify the price of the medium pizza I got from here. $15 for a smallish medium pizza that I had to bake at home?? Not to mention, the picture online didn't match the actual product. They gave me a honey wheat crust even though I chose a white crust. Even with the correct crust, I don't think it would have tasted any better. This is the first time I have regretted ordering pizza. I won't give one star because I don't think it's complete trash. I mean I still ate it lol just not something I would ever buy again! read more

The pros of this pizza is that it is completely customizable and you get to watch it be assembled in front of you. The cons are the crust and sauces are not fresh, it is expensive and when I baked it the crust was soggy. I feel bad because the people working were so nice and I've heard many good things but it wasn't for me. read more

We love Mama Mimi's for both the product and convenience but until this location can create accurate orders or educate their staff on customer service, we may have to take a break. The past two visits have resulted in my husband and I receiving inaccurate orders or uncommunicated ingredient swaps while still paying full price. We ordered a Caesar salad (our favorite) but when we went to pick it up the employee let us know they were actually out of romaine so she had swapped spring mix instead, "which we usually actually upcharge for so, you know..." all while blankly staring at us. We gave her the benefit of the doubt (New? Just really inexperienced? Not aware that this 'fancy' spring mix will definitely not hold up to the Caesar dressing?) and paid for our order - as no mention of a discount or comped item was to be had. The second miss was this past weekend. We called twice and got their answering machine, but was able to reach an employee on the third try - 5:00 on a Saturday. We were ordering for out of town visitors who had a very favorite Mama Mimi's order. When we got there, I noticed our visitors' favorite pizza had been made with the wrong sauce. When I mentioned this, the employee just stared at us and said..."Uh, so do you want me to remake it or what...?" We were in a hurry so we expressed our frustration but said we didn't have time. Charged full price again! No apology! When we got to the car I realized another pizza had been made incorrectly, even though she had repeated my order to me during the ordering process. So, out of 2 visits and 4 items - 3 items have been incorrect and we have paid full price for everything. Please educate your staff on the importance of order accuracy and how to remedy any customer dissatisfaction that occurs. Amazing! Everything is. The fact that it's connected to Gentile's Wine Sellers, the variety and mouth water taste of the pizza, the fact that you can cook it when you're ready, not when ever it's delivered, and the service! So nice! But, here's my story. I was getting ready for an OSU game. Friends were coming to hang at my house. One of my friends was picking up Mama Mimi's. They open a little late, 12noon. So we had to wait a while for the pie. When we finally got it, I was famished and so excited! But whoever decided that it was a good idea to let me unwrap the pizza must have already been drunk. Just as I was unwrapping, out of the blue, the entire pizza fell to the floor! Well, there goes that. You know, I found out that I'm not the only clutz in Columbus. It turns out that many others have done the same. So, there's your warning. Unwrap the pizza on a table, with plenty of surface area, not a counter and do not pull the plastic towards you. read more

I had heard about Mama Mimi's, and finally got around to trying it. Their online ordering was smooth and simple- I did a custom pizza. 15 minutes later, I was picking up my pizza. They were very efficient and friendly at the store (bonus- you can get wine at the shop that shares the building). Once home, the pizza only took 10 minutes in the oven. I really like knowing just how fresh everything is! It feels healthier that way. It's a little pricey, but I would definitely try it again! read more

I love the conveneience of being able to walk in, custom order a pizza (with baking directions), buy a bottle of wine or beer and take it home to have dinner whenever you are ready. This may not be the most novel idea, but it is a nifty option to have close by home. Granted, a self-bake pizza is not quite the same as having a fully baked, hot pizza delivered to your door, but there is something to be said for a fresh, made-to-order pie, ready to bake whenever you want it. One of my favorite things to do (a few years ago), was to go to stop in and pre-order a pizza for a specified time before going to the gym just up the street from Mama Mimi's. We'd swing by to grab the pizza and a bottle of wine en route home- and all's good. $10- $15 for a fully custom pizza-- This is a good deal. The toppings are plentiful and the sauce is good. Frankly, I have my favorite pizzas, but Mama Mimi's is a good alternative for when you aren't sure exactly when you want to have dinner or might not be too hungry at that exact moment. Mam Mimi's pizza will be ready to go when you are... Plus, the pizza shop is attached to Gentiles Wine Shop, where you can buy a great bottle of vino at a reasonable price or pick out an offbeat six pack of beer. I don't necessarily think to come here for pizza, but when we're in the neighborhood buying a bottle of wine or just want to have a homemade pizza waiting in the wings, Mama Mimi's is a delicious choice. read more

I love this place! I remember some of my first memories of this place was someone making fun of the concept of buying a premade pizza to take home and bake yourself, and it "costing about the same price as other pizza places." Then, I saw my neighbor had grabbed some for dinner. I checked out Gentile Wine Market and saw they shared a space. So one night I needed a quick dinner, I decided to get some takeout there. When I came in, I saw they had such extensive menu, it was hard to decide what to get. The lasagna sounded very tempting; however, it took an hour to cook. So I finally decided on pizza which only took preheat time plus 10 minutes. They do take a little bit to put together depending on the number of orders so it is best to order on line before you go over there. Although they don't take a terribly long time. The first mostly veggie pizza was slightly drab, but this comes from a girl who puts red pepper flakes on a lot of her pizza...but I couldn't find the red pepper flakes that night. And it was mostly veggie. The second pizza was a lot tastier. The third pizza was interesting with apricot jam, chicken, and gorgonzola cheese. I definitely recommend the caramelized onions. Overall, the variety and interesting combinations wouldn't necessarily be found as easily at a mainstream pizza joint. Plus, the pizza is easily baked at home, and you get the joy of it straight out of the oven! The price seems okay to me for what you get. I also like their small Caesar salad, and my husband likes their tiramisu. Lastly, the people working there are always helpful and nice. I will definitely be back the next time I want a quick dinner. Full disclosure: I worked here for a while a few years ago. I even met my fiance while we were working together! That being said, I ate this pizza almost daily for the six month period I was here, and I STILL crave it years later. If that doesn't tell you how amazing this pizza is, I'm not sure what will. They make their dough fresh daily and have a varied assortment of artisan toppings, including sun dried tomatoes, caramelized onions, fresh basil, and artichoke hearts. The Marmaletta Amore has the strangest combination of toppings, but it will probably change your life. Also, I could drink a whole glass of their italian salad dressing and feel absolutely no remorse. It's take and bake, so as long as you have an oven (or a grill!) or toaster oven there is no excuse not to try this place. The home baking instructions are easy, and you can even refrigerate them for a day or two before cooking if needed. Their signature pizzas are all delicious, or build your own from the previously-mentioned toppings, white, whole wheat, or gluten-free dough, and several kinds of cheese. Including shaved parmesan and GORGONZOLA. Did you hear me, people? Put gorgonzola on everything. Tuesdays in the summer are buy one get one free pizza days, and they send out coupons to people on their mailing list. I was hesitant to write a pizza review because there seems to be no objective good or bad in pizza tastes. I think Donato's is slop on cardboard, others say it's their favorite of all times. So....the reason I'm writing this one is due to 2 items: 1) Yes, the pizza..and 2) Their new meatball lasagna. So anyway the pizza is fantastic. White or wheat crust is consistently delicious and bakes up crisp right to the very center. Toppings are top-quality and the signature pizzas are all uniquely great. Considering the pizza bakes in 10 minutes, it's no big inconvenience considering people will wait 45 min-1 hr for a delivery pizza. Now onto the lasagna. I've had a lot of lasagna in my life, and I have to say this is my favorite. (Note: "Favorite" doesn't mean I think it's the "Best"...just my personal fave) It's a simple preparation of the classic lasagna ingredients but the meat portion is big hunks of broken-up meatballs. (delicious ones at that) The cheeses are low-moisture, the lasagna stays together and it's rich without being over-the-top. An every day lasagna is how I'd describe it. Bravo! to Mama Mimi's. We tried Mama Mimi's for the first time last night (we had a coupon) and I was impressed. I just went gluten free and until last night, I hadn't found a good gluten free pizza. Mama Mimi's has started offering gluten free crusts all the time now (I guess it used to be only 1 day a week) and while I don't really think any gluten free crust tastes fantastic, this one was actually pretty good. The staff was really friendly and helpful when we went to pick up our pizza too. We told them that it was our first time there, and they gave us free breadsticks! The breadsticks weren't GF, so I actually couldn't have any, but that was still nice of them! They also talked us through exactly how to bake our pizzas so we wouldn't ruin them & we got a punch card to use next time so that we can earn a free pizza. The only way Mama Mimi's could get any better was if they cooked my pizza for me, but I'll take when I can get. read more

I love the quality of the food and love the service I used to get at the Clintonville location. I wish this location would get their speed down. First and foremost, I must mention, Mama Mimi's has gluten-free options and will go out of their way to make every effort to prevent cross contamination for anyone with severe gluten sensitivities. On top of that, their gluten-free crust actually tastes good. That right there will grant a 4-star review. In addition to their fantastic GF pizza, they have a number of other great pizzas, bread sticks, and even lasagna. They really do value giving people options. I live just next to the place, so this is one of my favorite dinner spot. One thing you should know, you have to cook the pizza yourself. I have to say the dough is fantastic, it's not the thin type italian pizza, rather it's kinda thick. I personally didn't really like what the pizza selection that they offer, rather i just make the pizzas myself. The have the famous one with the apricot which is too sweet for my taste. i usually have mine with the garlic base, then i added meatballs, mozzarella, garlic, grilled onions and parmesan. or maybe just tomatoes, basil and fresh mozzarella. I am in pizza heaven!! Where do I begin??? I was a little nervous about the whole "take and bake" experience because of prior fiascos, but after reading reviews on yelp I knew I had to give this place a shot.... I walk in and am greeted by some of the nicest people and am offered samples of pizza AND tiramisu. ummm holy heck! That is some good tiramisu! They even cared enough to ask my opinion on it. I told them it was my first time in, and the cashier got excited and thanked me for stopping by. Then, upon handing me the prettiest pizza I have ever seen, he proceeds to go through the step by step of how to cook it properly! The instructions are on the pizza packaging, so its pretty much idiot proof. I just really appreciated that he took the time to go through it all. I love the store it is in too! It is located inside a cute wine shop (pizza and wine??? Don't mind if I do!). Needless to say.... I will definitely be back! I haven't even tasted the pizza yet, but I had an urge to instantly drive home and yelp about this awesome place.... now to try the pizza :-) nom nom nom read more

Mama Mimi's, a local Columbus pizza place, takes the take-and-bake concept to a new level. Unlike the more widespread Papa Murphy's with its mediocre pies, Mama Mimi's offers gourmet pizza with unexpected toppings. As for the pizza itself, it is really tasty. It bakes on parchment paper, so the crust is wonderfully crispy. The pizza ranges from gourmet (all-natural chicken with creamy garlic sauce, roma tomatoes and scallions) to run-of-the-mill (good ol' pepperoni). They do both equally well. They also feature some killer looking breadsticks that I have yet to try. The restaurant is located in a Grandview wine shop called Gentiles. Unique, flavorful, and fresh describe the best pizza in C-bus! Nothing says fresh like seeing the raw ingredients on your pizza before it's cooked. Carmella's Classic and Mama's Marmeletta Amore are the most unique and flavorful pizzas I've ever had. Caramelized onions, sun dried tomatoes, and Gorgonzola cheese give Carmella's Classic amazing flavor unlike any other pizza. Also using olive oil rather than tomato sauce probably makes a big difference, since tomato sauce would detract from the flavor of the toppings. I was afraid to try the Marmeletta Amore at first because I never liked marmalade and I assumed the apricot glaze would be like marmalade (similar root word in the title right?). I was wrong. The flavor is sweet with a little bite to it. I'm not sure if the bite is from the glaze or another ingredient, but it's magical. I can't remember how many, but after buying a certain number of pizzas (9?) you get a free pizza. I'm thrifty, so although I love Mama Mimi's it's difficult for me to justify spending $15+ on a pizza, but I do every now and then. You would think since they don't have the overhead of powering a stove for the pizzas it would reduce the price. Keeping in mind though, this is a local restaurant and not a national chain, so it can't be compared to national chains. They're serving the same type of food as the chains, but taking a totally different approach. It's a risk having customers use their own ovens to cook pizza, given the fact that the end product can vary widely, but with quality ingredients the customer can only blame themselves for under/over cooking! Stopped in for the first time last week and tried the special Blackened Chicken Pizza...Topped with olive oil & roasted garlic, chopped onions, roasted red peppers, blackened chicken breast, bacon, mozzarella & cheddar cheeses with a drizzle of honey mustard on top. Can't go wrong with that, right?! To top it off, the staff was super friendly and helpful. Got our breadsticks for free since it was our first visit, AND a free sample of the new Chicken/Broccoli/Bacon/Alfredo Lasagna! They walked through all of the cooking instructions with us which made it a snap once we got home! Everything was flipping delicious ! Lasagna was to die for. I like their pizza. It is good. I drank half a bottle of wine from Gentile's that I bought when picking up my polpetina grande and prima pesto chicken. That should explain this review. However, you dont have to be drunk to like this pizza (unlike Mikey's). Mama Mimi's is consistently fresh and convenient. Veggie lasagna was extremely tasty and filling. It had about 9 servings. I'm not a fan of the cookie pizza. It's not sweet enough for me. The breadsticks could use some more garlic and salt. The pizza choices are varied and guaranteed to please a group with multiple tastes. It is take and bake so plan ahead. Lasagna takes 35 minutes.
