Reasonably priced, great food and service. I am so mad at myself for not stopping to try it earlier.

Food was very fresh and delicious even on the Monday night that we went while they were closing. Our waitress was extremely friendly and made our experience much better. Fried calamari was very well seasoned and crispy. The chicken and shrimp Alfredo, shrimp scampi, and pasta and sausages were top notch. While the entrees were a bit pricey they were worth their price. Well worth your time. read more

Wonderful meal! Minestrone soup was fabulous, homemade pasta melted in your mouth. Marina sauce was excellent. Tiramisu perfect ending!!!

Food was pretty good. Went a little heavy on the salad dressing and salad was lame. Service was good; prices are average.

Wonderful Italian restaurant! My husband and I visit the Lake George area every year for the Adirondack Balloon Festival, and we always make it a point to stop at Mama Riso's. The food is flavorful and fresh, and the portion size is very ample. On our most recent visit, my husband and I shared the fried calamari appetizer, which was made to perfection. For the main meal, I had the special: a medley of crab, shrimp and lobster cooked in marinara sauce and served over linguine, my husband had the chicken marsala. Both dishes were to die for! We shared a bottle of their Prosecco and finished the meal with cannoli and cappuccino. If you're in the area and looking for great Italian food in a homey and friendly atmosphere, Mama Riso's is the place to go! This place has the best Italian food in Lake George, we regularly travel the 2 hours just to have dinner here. Staff is always amazing. Last year most of the power went out along the strip in the village and this restaurant was still going above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing meal. The food here is terrible. The app we ordered was calamari and it tasted very fishy as if it was made from frozen or not fresh. The main courses no one liked. We had a table of 9 and no one had ordered the same dish. Each dishes sauce had no flavor and was bland. Personally I had Chicken Parm and my piece of chicken tasted like it was a frozen patty. This place is extremely overpriced for the quality and taste of the food. I will never give this place another chance. I can go buy frozen meals and cook them myself. We were seated promptly. The waitress was very well spoken, however we ordered salad with balsamic vinaigrette, but it was drenched in Italian dressing. If you were to order minestrone soup or salad, choose salad. The main highlight of the dinner was the homemade linguini. You can taste the difference between the boxed pasta and the freshly made ones. I had the Homemade Linguini with Mussels, Shrimp, Clams, and Squid, in a light Marinara sauce which was delicious. My boyfriend had the Veal Saltimbocca. You definitely taste the prosciutto in the dish. Tiramisu was very light. The Tortuffo, italian ice, tasted so different from the italian ice you get from the supermarket. It is very rich and creamy and you don't taste the shaved ice. read more

My family and I had eaten here just about an hour or two ago. This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. I know we had gone to done during their dinner rush but a what was messed up was just common things. Being in the restaurant business myself, I know how crazy things could get but seriously. We sat and she took our order in a timely manner but that was the only fast thing that happened, aside from how fast we left afterwards. It took close to thirty minutes for us to get our soups and salads. The minestrone was bland but acceptable with some salt. After we all had finished eating our plates just sat on the table. EMPTY AND DIRTY!!! Still with our salad and soup plates dirty on the table, she brought our entrees about twenty minutes after we had finished our apps. Not to mention two of us ordered coffee at the beginning, before we ordered any food. We received the coffee along with the entrees after asking for it multiple times. But our entrees started off great except for the fact that some of our food was cold but by this time we were just fed up and delt with our cold food. So if you didn't notice I will never be returning to this establishment ever again. I could go go mcdonalds and het better service. read more

My family and I ate dinner at Mama Riso on July 3 2014. The restaurant was nice . There was not a big crowd but the service was very slow. We had to ask for things a few times before we got them. We waited 30 for our meals and when we got them they were cold. I asked for my steak medium rare and I got it well done. My daughter had the ravioli which was clearly frozen and tasted like glue. The fettucini Alfredo was bland and tasteless. My husband got the homemade pasta which was good but the portion was very small. Very expensive not worth it. read more

From the looks of the dine in service, this place provides good hearty portions. We had take out though and the serving sizes were less than desirable for the cost. The quality of the food was decent. We ordered a variety of dishes with most of them being average. The standouts were definitely the chicken parm and pork shank. read more

VERY poor treatment! The staff was horribly rude. My family and I went, including my 93 year old grandmother, who cannot easily walk up many stairs or the ramp at this place. We finally managed to assist her to the entrance only to be turned away; the staff made it obvious that they did NOT want our business when it was EMPTY. We had dinner here last night. I have nothing but great things to say about this place. The food was delicious. I had the Chicken Scarp and my husband had the Manicotti. The portions were great for the price and i left the restaurant full and even had leftovers. The soup was super tasty full of vegetables and pasta and the bread was warm and yummy! Ate here in a pinch on a Monday night when nothing else was open in the village (it was March). We weren't expecting much but were actually surprised at how good it was in the end. Started off with some wine and great homemade bread. The salad was atrocious; yellow iceberg lettuc that was well past it's prime. Don't skimp on a fresh salad ownership! The main course made up for it. I had pasta primavera al pesto, a special on the night. It was very tasty albeit a little on the heavy side. All in all for LG standards it was pretty good. I'd return. Use a better head of lettuce and the dude will give you 4 stars. read more

Came here for some Italian food. The owner and his wife were the only ones working since it was off season. We were a bit worried as the place began to fill up and she was the only hostess, waitress, bartender, and busser! She had that place under control! It probably took a little longer for our dinner out than it would have with more of a staff, but things came out timely and it didn't seem like we were waiting forever. I ordered a martini. Was pretty strong, but good. We both offered pasta dishes. My husband got the tortellini Alfredo. It was tasty. I got the chicken francese. Kind of disappointed in it. I was expecting a white sauce from the description, but it was more like a brown gravy... I wish I would have ordered something with the red sauce instead. We got garlic bread, which was nothing more than the Italian bread with some seasoning. Definitely needed butter or marinara to dip. She asked if we wanted the Italian bread that came with our meals too. We declined (didn't want to fill up on bread. Plus we ordered the gb because we thought it might be awhile before or meal). We still got charged the $5 for the garlic bread thigh. I think they should have just "upgraded" the bread we were supposed to get with a small charge instead. The waitress was very nice and accommodating. However their chicken seemed as if it were defrosted in a pot. Their pasta is pretty good. The coke was extremely flat. Their excuse was that it was flat because there was no ice in the drink. I found that a bit absurd. Their pizza is probably the best thing that they have. However they were very resistant in adding additional toppings. I probably wouldn't go back to this place. read more

Disappointed this weekend. Ordered our meal and took 40 minutes from time we ordered until it arrived. Two meals lasagna and fetachini Alfredo shouldn't take that long. Food was overpriced and small portions. Desert menu looked good but just couldn't risk waiting another 40 minutes so we skipped it and had desert at bakery down the street. Keep in mind this was @ 7:30 on a Sunday. Best part was after food arrived waitress said "wow you ate that faster then I can bring it out". If the best you can bring it out is 40 minutes then yeah. Looked around and the 3 other party's where having same slow service. Oddly one couple knew one of the waitresses and their food arrived in under 10 minutes. read more

food is good service is the worst. a tip is to e earned, not expected. no one offferd us a drink, more bread or even checked back to see if everthing was ok after we waited for over a half an hour for our appetiser. service brings rating down, sad part im a local and thinking i wont be back soley based on the service. what a shame, now i wont be recomending mama risos to anyone either. read more
