So my wife and I went here on a Saturday night to their new location near the tracks, I don't think we'll be returning. Not for any other reason except the food was not very good. *The Braciole wasn't very good. Very small portion, and the bed of what I would have liked to be Angel Hair, which was just spaghetti, wasn't drained well and made the marinara incredibly watery, which was gross. The service was good, and the atmosphere was also, but unfortunately the food was not. I would have to think about going back there for another meal. The prices were fair and reasonable. Arrived at 6:30pm on 10/11/19, was promptly seated and ordered drinks, about 10 minutes later ordered our entree, 5 minutes later received our salads and bread. 7:45pm still no entree served, asked why the delay , they said they where busy because of the play nearby. One of my hubby and I's favorite places to eat. The Veal Saltimbocca is to die for! Hubby's fave is the chicken cutlet parm dinner. You never leave here hungry, that's for sure. Waiting for the warm weather to return as we love sitting out on the patio to eat! The food was excellent, service was perfect...I wouldn't have changed a thing. The fact that my mom, who is an excellent cook and very harsh on Italian restaurants, LOVED her veal. Went with two people who are on special diets and they both wanted chicken Parmesan with grilled or sautéed chicken not deep-fried chicken. Very simple to make and they would not do it. Came in on a Friday night. Not too busy. Ordered the Chicken Francese. For $18.95, I was expecting a nice plate of pasta and chicken. What I got was a chicken breast, with a side of over cooked penne with marinara sauce. I've never been served penne with marinara sauce when ordering chicken frencese. I was going to request a side order of plain spaghetti instead, but by the time the waiter came back, my table was done with the food. When we were asked how we would like the check, we split it two ways. Seeing as we only ordered 4 items, we didn't think it was that big a deal. Plus, they asked if we wanted it split. Shortly after, the waiter who took our order came over to our table and proceeded to say, "How are you going to do that? Huh? Whatever. Who got what? How do you want it split?" with a crazy attitude. Appalled by the service, I didn't leave a good tip. Although, my friends did. Then, when I checked my debit card statement, they charged me an extra 15%! What! No where was it stated they would charge me an extra 15%. I was never told. That's completely illegal. I'm not even sure what to do at this point! Will never return! read more

Tried this place for the first time on a Friday night. The place was pretty busy, but not a mob scene. We grabbed the last table out back along the railroad tracks, which was a very different dining experience. This place really has the feel of an old railroad station, which is cool. Our server was very attentive, and so was the bus service. We got a reasonably priced $30 bottle of red, and order some appy's. The fried calamari was chewy, but that is the only negative we had for the evening. The salads were very good (Cesar, house) and served on ice cold plates with excellent dressings. The entree's (a chicken special, rigatoni, and alfredo) were all served piping hot and not a long wait at all. Bread was served warm with lightly crisp crust. We were neither rushed nor ignored, and our wine glasses were kept refreshed. We barely had room for desert, but they had a really nice selection of creamy chocolatey cakes and Italian pastries. We split a chocolate/raspberry cheesecake and coffees. We all took home leftovers because the portions were very respectable. They also honor the restaurant.com $25 certificate on a Friday night. Love the new location, so cool that it's the old BB train station. The outside patio area is nice too, though after a day in the sun we opted for indoor seating. Have loved the dish "Rosina's chicken" (I think that's what it's called) for years and was excited to have it again on our NY/NJ visit. All in our group loved everything we got. House salad dressing was delish as were the desserts. No doubt we'll go back next time we visit NJ. read more

We were not told that if we sit outside, there'd be many trains passing, making for a big racket and dining that's not peaceful. The service was very slow and the server spent the minimum possible amount of time at the table. The bruschetta served was cold and tasted odd. Perhaps it was prepared in the morning, had been laying around and served to us for dinner. My chicken was like leather. Food was overpriced and they did not give credit for the entire $25 restaurant.com certificate. We will not return. read more

I absolutely love this place. I used to eat there all the time when they were located on Main Street. I have since moved out of state, but every time I come back to visit NJ I make a point to go eat there just to have the Shrimp Italiano and Rigatoni Joseph. My absolute favorite dishes. I have even tried to make those dishes myself, but they just don't come out the same. I like the new location, and how the bar is now in the center of the restaurant. read more

Nice place. We've been coming here for years. The Rigatoni Joseph is so good. An original! I like the outdoor dining.

Food is good, atmosphere is casual but nice and all of the bartenders and waiters are friendly. Great place to grab a drink after work too.

The spinach ravioli was excellent, especially the sauce. The rest of the experience was average. My friend enjoyed the shrimp in the scampi too. Some of the servers seemed very attentive, ours not so much. For a $50 date, the insistence of recycling silverware from the bland house salad to dinner seemed rather cheesy. This was our second time at this restaurant. My husband and I weren't impressed the first time we visited this restaurant 3 yrs ago but thought perhaps it had changed since it was in a new location. Boy were we wrong! They changed their location but the quality was still the same, unimpressive. The soup tasted like Campbell's Minestrone, the creamy Italian dressing was the worst I have ever tasted, the calamari was bland and not crispy, and the grated cheese was not fresh. The food tasted as if nothing was freshly prepared. It either came out of a can or it was frozen. My family and I eat out once a week to biweekly and we know great qualtiy food when we taste it. They should have Chef Robert Irvine or Chef Gordon Ramsey come in to help them with their restaurant. read more

The last time I was at Mama Rosina's I ordered the Veal Francese and it was tender and delicious. There was a choice of salad or soup and I chose the chicken and spinach soup which is included in the dinner price. I certainly will be there again soon. read more

This wasn't our first visit to Mama Rosina's and certainly won't be our last! Very nice atmosphere since they took over the Bound Brook train station's building several years ago. Our party of 4 experienced friendly, attentive service from their well seasoned wait staff. Our entrees (Shrimp Scampi, Veal Marsala, Pollo Rosina & Veal Francese, which all included house salad or soup), were excellent as usual. We feel that one of the best features of Rosina's is consistency. Always an very enjoyable experience at a moderate price. We went this evening looking for a restaurant with outside dining and read they had it (why so few restaurants in NJ offer that option is confusing to me...). Anyway, waiter was also bartender, so you knew he would be busy and that meant waits for us between getting drinks, taking order, appetisers, main course and checks. We were ready for each about 5-10 minutes before each took place. Of the 4 at our table, all liked their order. I didn't much care for the penne bolganese. Meat did not have much flavor. Our appetiser calamare (very good). The chicken parm also tasted good. We had a few trains stop at Bound Brook station which was different, but not distracting at all. The outside patio is very clean as was the inside. Our waiter was very professional, just wasn't walking by outside at all. Came out to take order than went inside to perform other jobs...just came out when food was to be served. With limited options for outdoor dining in this area, I would say this is worth a try. They take the entertainment club card, which saved us $14 and they didn't stamp it, so we can use it again. It was a fairly nice dinner and outdoor experience, but if you have a long drive to get here, you may want to consider something more local. read more

went there on friday, 02/24/12 for dinner with 2 friends. the one owner sat us t a table. when we where done eating he asked us to move to another table so another one of his special customers can have our table. we did not even get to have dessert, coffee or another drink. we where made to stand at the door and wait for our bill. then he had the nerve to add the tipon the bill and there was only 3 of us. we where not going to stiff the waitress she had nothing to do with the classless owner. i think the way we where treated was terrible and then the owner goes nasty with use. why we did nothing wrong but make the mistake to go to his restaurant. please post this article so others don't waste their time and money going there to be treated like you are nothing. rosina's of bound brook is a disgrace. read more

Where to start... Arrived at 6:00, ordered at 6:15. Got our appetizers at 7:45. The clams were terrible and inedible. At 8:15 our salads finally came out... I've never had a Cesar salad that tasted like fish before, and I'm not talking anchovies it tasted like some other old rotten fish, it was terrible. Two Cesar salads uneaten and no one asked if we did or did not like them. At this point, the person across and to my right were asked if they wanted refills, while my glass was completely empty and the server ignored me, not once did I get a refill all night and I should not have to go out of my way to ask for one. As tables next to us had only been there for 15 minutes and must have been regulars from the first name basis they had with the staff and owner, they received their dinner as we still waited. at 8:40 our dinner finally arrived. At this point, my infant son got very sick and vomited, with the server standing right next to him. I figured he'd go get the wood chips, broom, butler and mop to clean it.... but to my surprise 10 minutes later he came out with more dishes of food for another table! And then 5 minutes after that, another set of dishes. I had to step in front of him and request him to clean vomit from the floor. Another 10 minutes passed before the most unsanitary cleaning of vomit I've ever seen. A gentleman came out with a mop and just sloshed it around on the floor and walked away. Absolutely disgusting. The dinner mean may not have been terrible, but the service was god awful, the staff was slow and oblivious to how a restaurant should be run. I for one will never ever be going back to this establishment. If I could give Zero or Negative stars I would have. Not a single discount or anything taken off the bill for food we did not enjoy. read more
