Haven't been to Mama Teresa's in ages and my mom and me were both craving pizza. We usually go to Salerno's or Fairfield Pizza in Stratford but we figured we'd give'em a try tonight. It's been quite a while since we've been to this restaurant. To start mom and me ordered two bowls of soup. We had the Minestrone. We both weren't happy with it. It was overly spiced...and most of the vegetables didn't even taste cooked through (done). In fact, it was so overly spiced it tasted odd. I said to my mom this soup has a weird taste to it....and she said that's what I was just going to say. We ordered a large pizza with meatballs and sausage and extra sauce. Well, the pizza came out and it looked quite small. We started eating it and I'd have to say it was the most under-seasoned pizza we've ever had. Also, the dough was like just baked through; not enough. It was so lightly baked. We couldn't taste the meats or the sauce. All you could really taste was the cheese which was very overdone. Back in the day we remember the cooks using some oregano, basil and other spices in the pizza....and it used to be really good. Truly it's not good anymore. After eating a couple of slices our waitress walked by. I said I was wondering...we ordered a large pizza but this looks quite small. She said I was just actually coming over to tell you that the cook made the small in error and that she would fix it on our check. I was shocked to see on our bill the small pizza was $12.00. And we only had two items on it. Thank GOD we didn't order the large pizza...can you imagine how much that would've been? And we really didn't need more of it...that's for sure. Our waitress was nice but hard to find several times when we needed her. Mom thought she was serving outside too.....but no. So all in all.....will we go back?????? NOPE!!!!!! There is better pizza and other food other places...and the prices aren't as steep. read more

What a disappointment! Visited on Sunday afternoon October 31, 2021. The management has eliminated the main reason most faithful customers continue to patronize Mama T's - Pasta Specials ! Also a new change, Dominick (Owner, Manager) has raised the price of coffee to almost $3.00 a cup. There are no refills to boot. He now charges $3.00 a cup !!!! Use to be a fairly-priced place to get a good family dinner. Mama Teresa's will soon earning the reputation of being an old established restaurant which is turning into becoming a rip off to the dining public in the Milford area. We loved it here, and will now always comes when in the mood for Italian cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious made with fresh Ingredients. The waitress Janet, was super sweet and very attentive throughout our entire meal. She made us very comfortable. My husband is a sticker and kept commenting on how so very clean everything is. The lasagna dish I had was very meaty, cheesy and juicy. I loved it. Fried calamari was fried perfectly and very tasty.my husband loved his Cavatelli the upstairs with broccoli rabe and sausage. It was so tasty. We actually loved the entire experience, and will make this a regular spot. Def try the calamari. You can't beat the prices, food is amazing and the service is super quick and very sweet. read more

Went for lunch with my mother and son..last Tuesday at 3pm. Delicious pizza...my mom had one with broccoli, garlic and spinach. It was all sauted with olive oil...so much flavor. I'll be ordering that pie at my next visit. Server was very sweet..nice decor. Bathroom needs to be updated. Wouldn't be the only restaurant in Milford..thats why the 4 stars. Never had food here before, but ordered take out yesterday. One of the best meals ever and well-packed, secure. That's a big deal to me that packages are sealed. Delivery driver had on plastic gloves, which was good. The bacon and mash potato pizza is heavenly good. And for all I purchased, the price point was excellent. I ordered out from Mama's recently and it made for a great dinner. My family used to come here every weekend (back at the old location) when I was young so it was nice to come back. Their pizza is very good. There's a lot of flavor and the dough is so enjoyable that the crust is one of my favorite parts, not like some places where it can be a chore to eat. the $9.95 pasta dinner deal includes salad. There were quite a few options but only 2-3 had meats in it. so we ended up going with the buy one and get 2nd dinner 50% off Yelp check-in deal. The service was great even though we had gotten a discount. I got the Chicken Sorrento (eggplant and Chicken parm). It was HUGE!!! for $17, my plate of chicken/eggplant was about 12" x 4" (oval shaped). It came with pasta of choice - linguini, angel hair, spaghetti, etc. The dinner also came with a salad before hand (lettuce, 2 slices of cucumbers, 3-4 halfs of cherry tomatoes and two olives). The blue cheese dressing was $0.50 extra and we weren't told about that, but not a big deal. Friend got fettucini a la vodka with grilled chicken. Also a large portion, but not as impressive as my dish. The bread was warm and crispy on outside and fluffy on the inside. I made sandwich with my eggplant parm and chicken parm. :) Total was $27 (pre tip) after the coupon. I liked the place so much that I got two pizzas to go for a business meeting today. Ordered on the website and picked up 30min later. Got 2 small sized specialty pizzas (meat lover $14 and Chicken with sundried tomato and cheese $14), came out to be ~$30 after tax. When I picked it up, the receipt was ~$23! The guy said they have a deal during weekdays for buy one get one half off for lunch. WOOHOO! This was plenty for 4 people and both were loaded with topping. Yum! Will go back again for sure. read more

I probably hadn't been here in 15 years until last night. We used to come here all the time when I was a kid, and more so than the pizza, I remember feeding quarters into the Karate Champ arcade game in the back of the restaurant. Anyway, the pizza I had definitely won't be mistaken for Wooster St. any time soon, but I will definitely say that it's now my preferred option when I need to get pizza and I'm near the mall. The crust was not as crisp or as thin as its New Haven brethren, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it undercooked. The pepperoni is of good quality, has a nice thick cut, and is cooked enough so that the edges start to curl up a bit which gives it added texture and flavor (nothing sucks worse than getting a pepperoni pizza where the pepperoni is paper thin and has barely been warmed). Ultimately, I'd say this pizza is 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up b/c of my biased nostalgia (even though the restaurant is not in the same location as it was in my youth) and the fact that I really did think it was tasty. Plus, there must be some kind of Monday take-out deal, b/c the woman took off $5 at the register, which means that we got two large pizzas for $20! Beat that, New Haven! read more

Please note my experience was take out recently, however I've had previous experiences dining in that were no better. So after several less than wonderful experiences here, my husband insisted that we get take out because he missed having it. We spent $27 on two dinners - baked ziti and stuffed shells. What a disappointment when we got home. First off, there was no salad and one loaf of bread. Inside the baked ziti container was just about half a normal serving. My stuffed shells contained only THREE shells. I thought I would be able to share the dinner with my daughter, but that certainly was not the case. The upside is that the food tasted good. It's not the best Italian I've ever had, but it was fine for what it was. My major complaint was the price for two dinners and the lack of substance. We were both wildly disappointed and certainly will not be returning unless all other options are out. read more

The food here is good, but the service is absolutely terrible. I checked my take out order before I left the store and found out it was incorrect. I sent it back and the counter staff did not once say they were sorry. When the order came back, the girl behind the counter said very rudely "do you want to check it again?" I've eaten here twice in the past month. The first time I purchased and consumed a chicken parm sub and experienced extreme abdominal pain. I thought this could've just been a bug and I decided to give Mama T another chance at redemption. This time I purchased the penne ala vodka with chicken. My girlfriend grew up in Milford and has been recently talking this place up to me as having some of the best pizza outside of NYC. Her taste in food is excellent, so I was obviously excited to take a trip up this past weekend from NYC to experience it myself. The pizza is out of this world great!!! We ordered a small cheese pie and it was super delicious and lived up to her hype! Every bite was better than the last! Well done! I'm drooling on myself just thinking about it and kinda just wanna get in the car and drive up there right goshdarned now to go get myself another one! We also split the chicken parm dinner with penne on the side. The chicken was a tad dry, but the sauce was really good. The pasta was a bit undercooked, and bathed in watery marinara. Will probably get something different than this next time. Salad was the usual side you get with dinner, but the dressing was really good. Garlic knots were awesome and plentiful! 3 bucks for a beer! This place has been around forever and for good reason. The portions are huge, the pizza is hot, the food is consistently good. I recommend the gnocchi with sundried tomatoes and spinach and the clams casino pizza. I've been coming here since I was a kid and it was just a junky pizza joint. It was good then and it's good now. My in-laws love coming here, and while it's not the place I would choose for every family dinner, it's a solid choice. I generally get a calzone, which is large, cheesy and delicious. These fine qualities usually last 2 meals for me. It's frustrating that the unhealthy filling choices- cheese, meats are cheaper than spinach, eggplant or broccoli. The service here is always good and everyone in our party enjoys the food. Don't go here if you're expecting high-end or avant garde. I've been coming here since I was a kid and it has stayed consistently good throughout the years. The pizza is not bad at all but the pasta and other Italian dishes are the way to go here. Service is always really good and the salads that come with mostly all the dinners are pretty good and big although they may come from a bag. My favorite is the penne vodka, but I've had plenty of other dishes throughout the years and they all are above average. Eggplant rollatini is outstanding. The food is great and I love the wild mushroom ravioli. I went here a few days ago with my family and they loved their meals. The only issue I've ever had is the wait staff can come off as a little moody. Same thing for the food runners even when it's not busy they typically have an attitude. It's a shame the staff isn't too friendly considering their food is pretty tasty. Really good Italian food for not a lot of dough! I got takeout and even though it was just takeout, the food was presented quite beautifully! Most places tend to just toss the food in the containers but not here. While most people said to put more garlic in the garlic knots, I kind of agree, but I also like them the way they are. But besides the actual garlic taste, they're brown on the outside and chewy inside! They're perfectly baked! And the marinara sauce that came with it was delicious too. However on today's visit, I had to give one star as our waitress ( Anita ) was very unresponsive couldn't find her when needed and was quite frankly rude.
