    make your own omelette

A French-inspired cafe and bakery located at 1353-1355 Wisconsin Avenue NW that absolutely lives up to its reputation. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance of Parisian cool and casual, making it an excellent spot for a mid-morning, work-ish get-together. I stopped in around 11:00 AM. Since I was already over-caffeinated for the day, I skipped the coffee and opted for the Martha Stewart spritzer with mint. It was exceptionally lovely and refreshing. For a midday breakfast, I ordered the omelette with spinach, roasted red peppers, and feta cheese, which came with a delicious green side salad. The execution on the food was excellent, and while I didn't grab any pastries this time, the entire display looked incredible. The staff were incredibly kind and gracious, upon learning, it was our first time there give us a humongous cookie! The only downside is the standard neighborhood reality: Georgetown parking is a notorious pain, but you know that going in. It is well worth the effort for the quality of the food and the environment.

I've loved Maman ever since I visited a NY location in 2022. Glad to see they've kept up the same vibe, aesthetic, and great menu. Everything tasted fresh and I genuinely love coming here. I don't think the company itself is French but it's definitely heavily 'inspired by'...from the food/drinks, to the decor, to even the service. The service is exactly like what you'd experience in France and reminds me of how you're treated in Zara lol. No one is blatantly rude, but they also aren't very helpful right off the bat either. Overall, I'd give this place a 7 or 8 out of 10.

The manager got in a screaming match with my husband because I didn't like the specialty latte & wanted to get it swapped with a CHEAPER basic latte. The manager told him "you are wrong, it is great, everyone likes it"... I didn't know that managers were supposed to operate off of their personal bias and tell the customer they're wrong for having certain taste preferences (the latte sucked and tasted like artificial almond syrup). He finally agreed to swapping it after my husband asked "aren't you as a manager supposed to take feedback from the customer?" This place is always packed and there's never anywhere to sit anyways. Don't bother going, you won't be able to understand any of the employees (if you speak English) and you might get screamed at if you don't like your drink. Maman, you should really educated your management on customer service! It's crucial to your business model and you have just lost a customer for life

First time at a Maman location and after lunch was in the mood for a Matcha on a colder day in Georgetown. Popped in and had friendly service, ordered pretty quickly and before you knew it, there was my beautiful Matcha Latte right on the counter for me. The decor in this place is so nice and it was a very nice sized space! Overall a great first experience at maman. My only regret was not getting something from behind that sweets counter but an excuse to come back right?

Loved the vibe in here - beautifully decorated and their pastries and drinks are equally as pretty! The cherry blossom croissant cube was almost too pretty to eat! I stopped in on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon and it was super busy. The to go line to order moved quickly, but getting beverages took a bit longer. Also had quite a long bathroom line (15 people deep for two unisex bathrooms) and the bathroom I went in could have used a bit of attention.

This is going to be my proper review of maman. At this point I have been to this place about 10+ times. Let me start by saying that I love the interior. This pretty much is how I want my kitchen to look. The staff is wonderful. The service they provide is top notch. The baked goods are amazing! I have tried the banana walnut bread, Nutella brownie, Martha Stewart Kitchen Sink cookie and Martha Stewart Lemon Creme Brûlée Bun. All of these items are amazing especially the Lemon Creme Brulee Bun. That is epic like a 9 minutes song. The sandwich however was just okay. Nothing special. A bit over priced but then again this is your premium coffee shop so I cannot complain... or maybe I can? The coffee is a labor of love! Whoever the barista is deserves a lot of praise for the fabulous job they do. I would like to give this place 4.1/5 If you want to waste your down payment on coffee and stuff - this is the place to do so.

Maman is never disappointing! I have been to Ardmore, multiple locations in NYC and now DC. Their smashed avocado tartine with sunny side egg is a piece of art. Their flavors and presentation are always on point. I always get their lavender hot chocolate but it was a very hot day in DC when I went so I skipped it but would recommend trying if you haven't!

    Polina L.

This was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. I ordered the avocado sandwich and added extra salmon on top, and everything was absolutely delicious and very fresh! I also tried the London Fog tea for the first time, and I liked it as well. The presentation was beautiful, the place was very clean, and the design of the space was amazing: cozy, warm, and welcoming. My friend also really enjoyed her food. So we had a wonderful breakfast on our last day in Washington, DC. I recommend visiting this place if you are in the area.

    Cherry Blossom Matcha
    Kristen S.

The inside has cute decor and feels cozy and the pastries on display look delicious. However, the prices are too high. I ordered the cherry blossom matcha latte which is a seasonal item. I opted for the large and it cost $9.90! I was not expecting it to be that steep and deterred me from adding on a $4.50 singular cookie. The drink itself was smooth, floral, and not too sweet. I couldn't really taste the matcha, but still enjoyed the uniqueness of it.

iced matcha latte & iced americano
    Baran K.

I feel like this is a classic cafe to check out in NYC or DC, and I cannot speak for the food much, but the americano was mediocre at best. Sometimes americanos can have that sort of sour aftertaste of stale coffee and this definitely did. My friend tried the matcha which she said was pretty good. We also grabbed a jalapeno cheddar scone and a cherry blossom croissant cube. I didn't try the latter, but my friends really liked it. The scone was ok, surprisingly sweet. That being said, I feel like Maman has made a brand off of its ambiance and I can certainly attest to it. It is BEAUTIFUL inside, and perhaps it would be nice to stop by for breakfast (items going around looked pretty good).

This has quickly become my wife's (and mine too I guess lol) go-to café. With Inkind taking it from pricey to a solid deal and such creative coffees like blueberry muffin or the pumpkin spice matcha latte were always pulled back with intrigue. They have a pretty good smoked salmon crogel croissant/bagel thingamajig as well as a steak sandwich that will not fail. All of their pastries appear to be on another level in regards to creativity and deliciousness, and the few that we have tried have been solid options. This place really just gives a great positive café vibe so fitting right there in the middle of Georgetown.

    Amanda D.

Cute brunch spot in Georgetown. Ideal to get there before 10a to beat the rush as well as to get a parking spot nearby if you drive. Mainly smaller tables but two bigger shared tables in the back. Really cute aesthetic inside. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Food was good, a little pricey but expected for that area. Lots of pastry options as well.

    Ameena A.

I honestly love all of the Maman locations- super consistent with the quality and freshness of their food, pastries, and drinks. I also LOVE their gluten free options- that chicken sandwich on GF bread gets me every time!! For this location in particular, the only reason I have 4 and not 5 stars is due to the service and how busy it was!! Now honestly you should sort of expect this in Georgetown... but for some reason the lines were just super unclear to me (where did it start?! end?! there felt like multiple?!), it was difficult to tell where you food/drink would be ready, and it was just so crowded both indoors and outdoors. I was overstimulated lol. ^I think it speaks to how much this place is loved which is wonderful- just prepare yourself! Or, perhaps there are more "off" times that are less busy.

I had absolutely no plans on buying or eating cake that day, but as a cake lover stuff happens. It was such a cute building the pastries had to be everything! It turned out to be the perfect stop. 1. The looks The building itself is so cute on the outside, and being a fan of the color pink, it instantly caught my attention. Inside, it feels less like a fast, high volume bakery and more like an intimate cake boutique. It gives small town where the owners know you by your first name. You can feel that real love was put into the space and the baking. Tasted like every ingredient was hand mixed, every cake hand frosted, and every cookie carefully hand scooped. They even served my slice of coconut cake on a real plate, which was such a cute, bourgeois touch that I loved. 2. Service The hospitality here is top-notch. On my first visit, yes you heard me! Lol! The gentleman Eric who rang me up was incredibly knowledgeable about all the different cookie and cake flavors. I ended up returning the very next day, and although he wasn't there, the other two staff members working which included Mikaela were absolutely delightful and so kind. The young lady told me her daughter loves the carrot cake as well and Mikaela said they started working there because they loved the patties so much! 3. The Cakes -Coconut Cake: This slice was so delicious, fluffy, and airy that it instantly reminded me of being a kid at holiday family meals with a fresh coconut cake on the table. -Carrot Cake: It was everything you want a carrot cake to be. It was nice and dense yet soft, with a pleasant texture from the added fruits. Definitely noticed pineapple bits! The cream cheese frosting wasn't overly thick and was so good you could eat it completely by itself. -Strawberry Cupcakes: I stole a small bite of my son's. unfortunately, this one was my least favorite. The frosting had a little chemical taste to it but it was a super cute cupcake. To answer your question, will I return? Absolutely! If you are in the DC area or planning a trip there soon, check this spot out. It truly feels like a mom and pop or pop and pop boutique. Not a bakery but a BOUTIQUE! Check them out! The beef börek was good; the cheese finger börek was good, too, if maybe a teensy bit dry. I also got one of their signature coffees. While these coffees sound interesting and delicious and creative, I wish there an option or two that weren't as sweet. I tried the Sultan's Velvet, which was just way too sweet for me. Next time, I'll stick to a classic coffee - an americano or a cappuccino - since they have it all. There's quite a bit of seating - some downstairs, some upstairs, and some outside. I sat down and read my book while I enjoyed my pastries. It's definitely the kind of place that is comfortable to sit and enjoy. The customer service was friendly and fast. Overall, I'm glad I stopped by Caspian Crust. Georgetown is lucky to have several pastry shops/bakeries, but Caspian Crust is different and stands out. Its focus on Turkish and Azerbaijani pastries means that there's something for everyone - some classics for those folks who like what they like with their coffee, more savory pastries with meat or cheese or olives, and some sweet but less common pastries as well. Great flavors and variety. It's also cozy, comfortable, and casual, with good customer service. I'd be happy to return.
