Been here twice and loved the crogel so much the first time that I got it again. 5 stars for the first visit but only 3 for the second. I paid $3 extra for avocado and there was the barest whisper of it on my crogel the second time around (less than the flavoring in a la croix). There was also a single layer of smoked salmon the second time around, but a ton of pickled onion. Overall it was still pretty tasty, perfect crogel texture, but disappointed with the inconsistency. The pistachio croissant had a very nice texture but I wasn't a huge fan of how much pistachio filling they put in - it was almost a syrupy consistency and very sweet, with minimal pistachio flavor. Would try a plain croissant next time, or maybe the pain au chocolat. It's quite busy on the weekend - easiest to snag a counter seat with 1-2 people, otherwise expect a wait. I recently visited this cute coffee shop in Georgetown after visiting the one in DC and since the one I wanted to visit in Georgetown was already closed. They were very busy inside and almost all tables we're taken. There was a line inside but only about 2 people in front of me. I really liked their coffee and pastries. Hands down my favorite go-to cafe in DC. I have spent countless mornings and afternoons here since I love the ambiance, the treats, and food. If you love matcha lattes, I recommend trying a matcha latte with their house honey lavender syrup... it's a game changer! The employees are always so nice and helpful. Pro tip: if you're coming in on a weekend make sure you make a reservation because you won't be able to find a table. Maman gives a cute little coffee shop vibe. It was super busy around 12 on Saturday so I ordered to go because there was a wait. I ordered a chocolate almond croissant, a crogel(lox bagel) and an iced maple French toast latte(signature drink). This was my second time visiting them and unfortunately they were just as unimpressive as their Bethesda location, if not more. Between the two visits, I've tried the honey lavender latte, breakfast sandwich and Brenda's Belgian waffles. I'll describe my most recent visit which was on a Sunday morning. They were fairly busy and noone was handling the front. Finally, a hostess showed up quite unhappy with my decision to sit all the way in the back as opposed to the front. I guess she wasn't in the mood to walk? Who knows. Having been completely disappointed by the weak honey lavender latte from my first visit, I decided to just stick to food so I got the Belgian waffles. Those waffles took forever to come out and then all I got were mini waffles - definitely not worth the wait or the cost. The waiter never checked on me, even though he checked in on the group sitting next to me regularly. When it was time to ask for the check, the waiter was nowhere to be seen. I had to flag the hostess when she was sitting someone else so she could get the waiter. I find it interesting that the lowest tip option is 18% when the service is so inattentive. Still not sure about the hype with maman. The decor is beautiful, but after having been to two different locations more than once and leaving unsatisfied, I don't think I'll be going back or trying them elsewhere. read more

It's was decent. The vibe was nice but the food is very mediocre. My friends iced matcha was horrible and wasn't properly made (clumps of matcha throughout the drink). My latte was decent but not worth the price IMO. There are better and cheaper coffee places near by. This is the type of place I recommend for a quick study break but wouldn't recommend planning on sitting down and eating here with how busy it gets. One my favorite brunches in DC hands down! My partner and I always go to Maman whenever we are in Georgetown as we love to try their seasonal pastries, brunch items, and coffee. I would say their service has gotten better over the months, especially since they started host seating instead of first-come, first serve basis. Their croque maman is one of my favorites, especially when it's warm with their cheese and Parisian ham. Definitely also recommend their ratatouille (served only on weekends) if you want want something lighter. We always try their seasonal pastries as well, including their famous chocolate chip cookie (endorsed by Oprah!)! Their coffee is also strong and always enjoy their seasonal coffee. A really beautiful bakery located in Georgetown!! It has been on my list of places to go and I finally had the chance to go. We got a few pastries from their display as pictured below. Most were pretty good and not too sweet. I thought the cookie was a little bit on the drier side and I didn't enjoy as much. Among them my favorite was definitely the lemon blueberry Bundt cake. The Gone Abroad was good but only had a sip but refreshing, To eat, we ordered the pastry assortment, Brenda's Belgian Waffles, and the Eggs Ratatouille. We were a little disappointed that they ran out of bacon because it limited some of our choices. The food came out pretty fast though. The pastry basket was a little odd. Came with a chocolate croissant, and two cookies. The croissant was ok but one of the cookies was hard for some reason. The Belgian Waffles were really good. Not crazy sweet and the berry compote gave a little tartness. Could've used bacon for some saltiness though. The ratatouille was ok. The egg was a little overdone but decent flavor. Visiting on weekends or holidays is definitely not the best idea. This is a chic brunch spot in Georgetown with cute decor so it understandably gets busy and loud. There's usually a line but it moves fast. The wait for a table for 2 is around 15-20 mins. However, every time I visit the waitstaff seems a little overwhelmed by the number of guests despite doing their best and offering friendly and efficient service as much as possible. We had to wait a long time for someone to clean the table and get our check. Their pastries are a little hit or miss for me. Some seasonal items and the chocolate chip cookie are pretty good but other staples, especially the croissants, just don't do the job. A little too sweet, too flat, and not fresh. Maman is a delicious and super cute cafe located in Georgetown. You can either order at the counter and take your items to go, or they have a bunch of indoor seating. We went on a Saturday at about 11:30 and the wait was 5 minutes. The table we got was quite small and right at the entrance of the restaurant, so it was great for people watching but not amazing for enjoying the people at your table. The service wasn't great. We got half a bottle of water for our table and then our waitress never brought us another so we asked another table for their water. The food was amazing through! The Tartine au Saumon was one of the best salmon toasts I have had. We also had the make your own omelette, it was also good though a bit wet and they put full (not cut up) cherry tomatoes on it. We also had peach mango tea to drink and it was so flavorful. We ended our meal with the halva dark chocolate cookie which was chewy and so delicious, and the coconut oatmeal cookie which was subtle and moist. Since I just moved to DC, I was super excited to pass by Maman. The interior is extremely cute so that is a positive. Overall it gives a feel of a French cafe. Also the menu itself is French oriented. So all in all, I would call it a French styled cafe. From eating here and seeing it while walking by, seems like it's a busy place. Which is a good sign. Most of the seating is inside but they do have outdoor seats. The design and theme inside is one of their best sides. Really cute place. They have good salads. I recommend trying some of those. The pastries collection is big and some of them are pretty artistic. We tried some of them, I would have to say that they were good but not wow. One thing to watch out. With the European feel, you might also assume it's low on calories. However most of the sandwiches and salads are on the higher calories aside. Extremely pretty café in Georgetown. I got there nutty Nutella cookie which is really good. We also got three of their seasonal drinks which we also really liked. I got the pistachio drink and I will say that I just tasted like milk with a little bit of an essence of some thing. It just kind of taste like not that sweet milk tea.
