We had a long day and were trying to decide what to eat when we passed by and gave this place a try. I was a little nervous and felt bad about coming in 30 minutes before closing but the staff was extremely friendly and did not seem annoyed. My son and I split a small pizza and they were not stingy on the extra cheese! It wasnt the best pizza, but definitely better than most places around here and the service was great. The worse pizza spot I've ever eaten at. DO NOT waste your time here. There is a mooyah, and a chipotle next door that will treat you, and your stomach better. First off I was inside for 45 minutes before I got my pizza, there were two other people one just sitting at the bar and one I guess called ahead. Then soon after people starting strolling on in, and everyone of them got their pizza before me. I was late to my movie, and the place seemed to be ran by a bunch of moronic 16 year olds that could care less that they unconvinced you. I love pizza and have been going to this location since they opened. I would be very skeptical of the one and two star ratings. I know that food tastes are subjective, but I have never had a pizza here worthy of one or two stars. I tried the buffet, pizza was very lukewarm but tasty, salad was good, cinnamon rolls were not warm at all & too doughy. Mama's pizza reminds me a lot of Cici's, except the quality's a tad better. It's not the best pizza, nor is it the worst (hence the 3 stars). I will admit that the service is top-notch and nice, and they keep the restaurant as clean as possible. We are so glad that there is finally a good pizza place in the area. Have been to this location about 4 times since it has opened, and the pizza is as good as their other locations, meaning better than anywhere else around here. This is not the qaulity of pizza that Mama's of yesterday used to make, It is comparable to what you would get at Pizza Inn, I would not recommend the buffet, it is mediocre at best....they do have a decent salad bar though, for decent pizza at a reasonable price, drive a mile east and eat at Pizza Garden in Bedford, far superior. read more

We went here on a whim, & I regret it. When I first when in the door, the smell seemed weird to me. I should've turned away then. The only thing I liked about the pizza was that they brought it out hot & the crust was nice & crisp. The rest of the pizza tasted off to me though. Mama's Pizza has been part of the Fort Worth restaurant scene for a long time. We visited this location for take-out only. We would normally order at the counter and have a draft beer while waiting on our order to be finished. Mama's pizza is a good pizza though the crust is a littler thicker than I like. Totally shocked at some of the poor reviews. I'm from Chicago.....where they know how to make real pizza. Mama's Pizza is the closest I've found in Texas to the real thing. Tastes like real pizza, not those "chain" style pizzas. Maybe I'm the lucky one, but when I buy here I get great ingredients and lots of 'em. Very happy the expanded here to this area. Though we like the cheese pizza here, the wait, price, and customer service is the pits. We went in on a Friday night, and there were seven other tables full, most of them already with pizza on the table. We paid for our pizza, and sat down to wait. The manager kept coming out of the kitchen chewing on food. We watched him do this three times in plain view of all of the guests...so gross. We watched four other pizzas arrive; three of which had walked up and ordered AFTER we did. We waited for 30 minutes for our pizza before walking up to ask what was taking so long. They had zero record of our order...totally lost the ticket. The manager approached us (he told us then that he was the g.m.) and told us that they had never been this busy before. There was no apology, no sense of urgency to make us happy, just excuses for how busy they were. He couldn't even figure out how to give a refund on his own cash register, and we had to wait a long time to even get our money back. He leaned over the counter and said in a hush-hush voice to see him again and if he was there, he would hook us up. Why does that need to be on the downlow? It's called throw some money on a gift card for next time, apologize, and retain the service. The attempt to rectify the horrible experience was pathetic. We will not be giving them another shot. read more

Yelp forces me to give 1 star which is more than this place deserves. Absolutely the worst! Should have read the reviews here first. My husband and I decided to try the closer location (than TCU) and it was horrible. Paper plates, plastic forks, no napkins (waitress handing out paper towels) and the salad bar was out of anything "salad" except lettuce and cheap bacon-bits. Waited for an hour for a requested plain pepperoni pizza - which never came before we decided to leave...not even that many people came in for it to be such dismal service. The entire visit was so below par we just wanted to leave - should have requested a refund but decided there was no way the staff could not have realized the shortcomings and chose to get out of there! Way way way below par for what Mama's has been for years! Very disappointed and even more so that Mama's corporate would allow such sub-standard quality to be associated with the name. read more

I have come for the lunch buffet on several occasions and have enjoyed it every time. The selection can get low during the busy time, but they are usually quick to get more pizza out. Ok I don't usually write reviews but I thought I would on this restaurant . After ordering our pizza and salad the waitress told us their salads were really good and it would be about 20 minutes on the pizza. The salad was delivered right away and was literally just a pile of lettuce with 2 cherry tomatoes, nothing else. Then we waited 45 minutes on our pizza which when finally delivered was not done the crust was soft and not fully cooked. I will not be returning. read more
