Absolutely incredible barbecue!…read more We ordered the ribs, potato salad, cornbread, sweet potato pie, and baked beans. Everything was amazing. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and excellent. The baked beans were honestly the best I've ever had, and the potato salad was the best potato salad I've ever had from a restaurant. The cornbread was absolutely to die for and so delicious! We also enjoyed the sweet potato pie, which was the perfect way to finish the meal. Everything tasted homemade, flavorful, and made with care. Catherine, the owner's daughter, was working while we were there, and she was so friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. She made the experience even better and was happy to answer our questions. I highly recommend Daddy's House of Ribs if you're in the Lockeford area. The food, service, and hospitality were all outstanding. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I went here for dinner because friends suggested it saying, "best BBQ west of Texas."…read moreI was not impressed. 1 - They have only one kind of BBQ sauce, and it is VERY spicy. I like spicy, but this was nothing but burn. How does a BBQ restaurant NOT offer a variety of sauces?!? 2 - We ordered the 3 Meat Combo plate. We wanted pulled pork on it, but were told that wasn't available for combo plates. Reallly?!? So I got the chicken instead. That turned out to be two dry legs. Had I known that, I would have gotten the ribs. The meal plus one water plus tax and tip ended up being $48. To be fair, there was enough food for two people with a little left over. But I just don't see the value.

Great news for northern California, one of best BBQ joints if not thee best bbq joint…read more I first found this place on mother's day, googled best BBQ in northern California and Smoke and Meats appeared. We got the food to go, and let me tell you, I kept coming back, The ribs are perfect the flavor is amazing the brisket was so tender it almost melts in your mouth, 3 kinds of sausages cheese, hot and regular amazing the smoke flavor is prominent in everything you taste. There is aways a line, but the line goes quickly, The ambiance is A BBQ RESTAURANT! calm down the decore is western, the sodas come in a can, this is a BBQ joint, the focus is the food. The neighborhood is very cool, the night we went thay had a farmers market with music going on, busy but parking was safe and near. When you do come, say hello to Jeremy the owner, and give him a congratulations for being voted top 10 BBQ in northern California, he was very happy when i told him, we celebrated together as the room cheered and celebrated with us, hears to you Smoke and Meats Keep the meat hot and a table ready, i will be coming back often

Hubby was so excited when staff asked if he wanted the fatty or lean cut of the brisket…read more.. apparently to him that means they know what they're doing... nonetheless it was DELICIOUS. Perfect smoke, rendered just right. I wasn't a huge fan of the sweet sauce, definitely have a preference for the more vinegar based stuff. The cole slaw was delicious, super crispy and not too sweet thank goodness. We loved it. The mac and cheese was definitely cheddar cheesy, it was super rich so we didn't finish it but it was good. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was made in house and amazing, we loved the bite of the casing. We also ordered a banana cream pie cup and the vanilla wafers were really soggy, but the pudding consistency was great. Staff were super friendly, food was great, and it was packed inside, definitely can see why this is a local favorite with such high reviews.

I am rooting for this local business as they deserve all the support they can get. I ordered two…read moreitems off their limited menu: fried chicken sandwich and fried chicken loaded fries. I thought the crispiness of the chicken was absolutely perfect; however, I did think the chicken meat itself lacked a lot of flavor. I thought the fries were cooked to perfection and tasted great with the spice blend that I believe the owner created himself. Some things that would have made it a lot of better was if they had added some lettuce or onions to the burger as it was literally just a piece of fried chicken sandwiched in between 2 buns for $12. The loaded fries could have used some more toppings like onions, some bacon bits, jalapenos, cilantro, and maybe drizzled with a homemade creamy or spicy sauce. These additions would not only take their food to the next level but just give the food that extra pop of color to make it more appealing! The store was hard to find and was located on a one way street in downtown Stockton. There is not a clear sign outside on the building besides a stand up sign outside. From the outside, it may look closed. Tip: I parked about a block away and decided to walk. They are at the end of a chain of stores located right next to a parking lot! It was also empty when I visited and there was a lot of seating. The service was great as they took my order and had my food ready within 10 minutes. Although I understand it is located in downtown which can get more dangerous at nighttime, I wish they had the option to do delivery or be open later as this would made a perfect a quick dinner or a late night snack delivery. I hope to be back to try some of their desserts.

Plenty of parking although this place gets busy during peak times. This spot is not big inside although there are 2 separate dining areas with several dining tables. There is also outside patio seating with a bar/counter table. Went in for lunch a lil after 11am and there was already a line. Ordered the following for to-go: ***3 Meat Plate 5/5 - $28 Tri-tip, sausage, chicken with bbq beans and baked potato casserole - sooo good and tender! ***Half-rack pork rib plate 5/5 - $25 With bbq beans - super delish! For dessert, got a banana pudding. It was good!! 5/5 Staff are always courteous and friendly. Great customer service! Will definitely visit again.

This is actually one of the worst bbq spots I've been to…read more I haven't done Texas bbq yet, but I've been to a lot of spots across St Louis, Nashville, and Arizona. Literally every meat we got was dry, bland, and overcooked. You really have to try to mess up a brisket point, but they managed it. I've had juicier flats at normal spots than this point ever was. Pulled pork is also a really hard thing to mess up, but it was extremely dry too and had basically no flavor of its own. Feels like on days they goof up they should just drown everything in bbq sauce to cover it tbh. The sausage wasn't anything to rave about. The tri tip was cooked medium well and at least didn't seem like a select cut since it had some tenderness to it. But it barely had any smoke. You're genuinely better off making one at home. None of the meats were seasoned enough. Everything needed sauce. The sides didn't help either. The cole slaw had no noticeable dressing and looked like straight up salad mix from Sysco. The mac and cheese just tasted like the powdered cheese packet you get in boxed mac and cheese with a bit of Whiz mixed in. Honestly the best thing on the table was the Diet Coke. At least it saved me from choking on all that dry meat. Service was the one bright spot. Everyone was extremely friendly and checked on us for waters and offered to take our trays. 1 star for the phenomenal service.

No trip to Gold Country is complete without a stop at Swingle Meat!…read more As mentioned in my previous review, groceries, especially meat prices are super high in the Bay Area, so whenever I have a chance to get some good deals on meat, I'm going to make every trip here worth it. On this trip I picked up some frozen ribeyes, sirloins, burgers, breakfast sausage patties, cheddar jalapeno sausages, and some chile verde and ranch house chicken. The chicken items I got come vacuum sealed, which is perfect when I plan to sous vide them. The things I wish I got more of was their honey pepper beef sticks and hot teriyaki beef jerky. It's very affordable and perfect for snacks. Another low key thing that we like are their frozen chicken wellingtons. super easy to bake at home and it's a tasty meal. I arrived in the morning and luckily it wasn't super busy. Grabbed a basket and before I knew it I had enough meats and snacks to feed a large family when in reality, it's just for a couple of us. $153 well spent and meals for days. The prices for the tri-tips have more than doubled since 2020, but honestly, still a great deal considering the size. $35-40 for a good sized marinated tri-tip is still a steal of a price. The mother lode tri tip is a can't miss and a fan favorite at any of our family bbqs. Definitely plan to bring a cooler and some ice packs so you can keep your meats stored properly in route to back home.

I was expecting a butcher shop where I could select some fresh pork chops or rib eye steaks. But…read moremost of the meats were pre-packaged frozen meats. Absolutely nothing wrong with that... it just wasn't what I was looking for. We did buy some frozen steaks. I found the prices to be reasonable but not worth going out of the way for (it's about 40 miles away from where we live). Regarding the quality of the steaks, we didn't find them to be better than what we normally purchase.
