Their salsa verde is perfect, and the spicy red salsa has a delicious smokey essence that any heat connoisseur would enjoy. They have lots of meat options but my favorite are the chorizo, asada, and cabeza. *Chef's kiss.* They seem to be a fairly new family business but I wholeheartedly believe they are the best in town. I'm so glad they set up their kitchen in my neighborhood! You can find them next to the 76 gas station on Stockton Blvd and 14th Ave, usually in the evenings. They currently accept cash, Venmo, and cash app. They also do catering!

A little over a year ago, they moved their weekly operations to a new location at the 19th hole, at the Tracy Golf Course. NARRATIVE: I was invited to Speer BBQ for lunch a few weeks ago by a friend. After arriving, I was surprised to see how nice the set up was at Speer's BBQ new location. Big floor to ceiling windows overlook the golf courses putting and front nine holes. Beyond the views of the golf course, the rolling Sierra Mountains can also be seen in the background distance. The seating area at Speer's is abundant. Lots of four person tables and even a bar seating area with elevated, single seats. Not mentioned on their menu, I ordered a Tri Tip, grilled cheese sandwich which came with a side. I opted for their backed beans. My sandwich was really tasty. Lots of meat and cheese melted around it and just the right amount of BBQ sauce to know you were eating a BBQ sandwich. SCENE: Speer BBQ is located in the rural, Southend of Tracy at the Tracy Gold Course. If you drive South on Chrisman Road, just follow it until you dead end, beyond the 33 and Highway 580 freeways. RECOMMENDATION(S): Well worth the visit.

I can't believe no one has written about this little food stand!…read more My fiance and I paid a visit to the vet this Saturday and were heading to Costco. We saw that a small Farmer's Market was going on in the Bishop Ranch complex #3 (adjacent to GE Software's lot). Since we needed vegetables that Costco probably wouldn't have (or have in the mega Duggar family pack), we decided to make a quick detour into this small farmer's market. Man, are we glad we did. I mean this FM is much, much smaller than the one we went to in Pleasanton. But at the end of the rows of vegetable and other stalls was this delicious aroma of grilled food. Since we hadn't eaten lunch and Costco food was NOT a healthy option, we decided to take a peek at Gorgeous Gorilla. While I don't want to make a definitive statement about the ethnic origin of the food, my guess is either Jamaican or (generically) Caribbean. They had Jerk chicken, Oxtail, shrimp, and grilled salmon. Also they serve their plate meals with red beans and rice. Oh snap, I love red beans and rice! And best of all: fried plantains. They also serve it with a small side of a fruit salad which is heavy on the mangos. Nice. We also ordered a positively awesome strawberry fruit drink which we know used fresh strawberries from a vendor down the row of veggie stands. We saw him deliver two boxes of strawberries while we ate lunch. We shared a jerk chicken plate and that was enough for us because we didn't want to fill up too much before shopping. The flavors were AMAZING on every part of the meal, esp the chicken. while I've had much spicier jerk chicken in the past, this one was one I'd consider a very mild jerk flavor. Maybe if I ask for what the locals would eat would they turn it up a notch. They let me know that they are there every Thursday in the same lot, so I'm going to make another trip next week as this Thursday I won't be in the area. But for now, here's some pics to whet your appetite!

I thought the crispiness of the chicken was absolutely perfect; however, I did think the chicken meat itself lacked a lot of flavor. I thought the fries were cooked to perfection and tasted great with the spice blend that I believe the owner created himself. Some things that would have made it a lot of better was if they had added some lettuce or onions to the burger as it was literally just a piece of fried chicken sandwiched in between 2 buns for $12. The loaded fries could have used some more toppings like onions, some bacon bits, jalapenos, cilantro, and maybe drizzled with a homemade creamy or spicy sauce. These additions would not only take their food to the next level but just give the food that extra pop of color to make it more appealing! The store was hard to find and was located on a one way street in downtown Stockton. There is not a clear sign outside on the building besides a stand up sign outside. From the outside, it may look closed. Tip: I parked about a block away and decided to walk. They are at the end of a chain of stores located right next to a parking lot! It was also empty when I visited and there was a lot of seating. The service was great as they took my order and had my food ready within 10 minutes. Although I understand it is located in downtown which can get more dangerous at nighttime, I wish they had the option to do delivery or be open later as this would made a perfect a quick dinner or a late night snack delivery. I hope to be back to try some of their desserts.
