We tried the Italian food- pasta dish- spaghetti and lasagna, sweet tea and Pepsi. It was pretty good, big portions. Just wish my lasagna had more cheese layers. The sauce was a little acidic but yummy. Bar was crowded and noisy when we stop in after arriving home at RDU from a trip. Would go back but when less busy.

Other than then running out of Eggplant for eggplant parmigiana, it was great. Good martinis, good burger and apps.

Manchester's Grill is located in the Pinecrest Point Shopping Center. I had never been to this bar and grill before but it has been opened since 1989. The menu is large and should have something that appeals to most from burgers to salads to pizzas to pastas. The shopping center has plenty of parking. Tanya was our waitress and friendly. They may have been understaffed as she had to be waved down for refills. I went with the Northern White pizza and enjoyed the simple pizza. I will return again and try some of the other menu items.

Trudy got us seated and ordering within five minutes of the doors opening at noon. The six of us, a dining group that goes all over the Triangle, were ready for whatever they offered. What they offered was an array of sandwiches, pizzas, pastas, and wraps that left us all full and many of us taking leftovers home. Great service, not too crowded (it was a Tuesday lunch) and the food was amazing. I had a Shrimp Carbonera with mushrooms and peas that was possibly the best pasta I've been served in a restaurant outside of Italy. Call ahead if you have to, because most of their tables seat 4-6. Tell Trudy the rowdy bunch sent you!

Ordered to go I had to go in and get the order because the front desk is not very nice/welcoming to our daughter (she is over 21 the girls her age that work there tossed the last receipt at her). 15 bbq wings which were big and tasty. The celery as seen in picture were the tops of the stalks- very hard and bitter. We got blue cheese which was just cream with tiny - tiny pieces of blue cheese. I also ordered a chicken wrap it was ok the grilled chicken was cut in small pieces made it hard to eat when they fall out. The French fries were bland but I added some spices and they were better.

Half no cheese, extra mushrooms, half with cheese and the works.

This pizza joint has been highly recommended by a number of people and I finally made a point to come over and try it. The menu also has lots of bar food that sounds great. Our waitress was a tough nut to crack, but I think it was cos it was just her and another person for the whole place, so I see how it could be a lot to handle. She finally did come around, but gettin through the thick ice was a job for us two ladies. So I was excited to try this highly anticipated pizza! My spouse doesn't get along with cheese so she gets hers without and double mushrooms and it works for her. I'm a cheese lover and also added sausage, onions and green peppers on my half. I gotta say, it was a letdown flavor wise. Seriously, not a lot of taste except for the sauce, which was like straight up tomato paste. No seasoning, just plain. You'd figure with the toppings I had it would be full of flavor, but overall it was very bland. We'll come back, but would take a pass on the pizza.

If you can't find parking on Person street I recommended parking on a side street and walking. Walking in the pizza shop has a cool, laid back, neighborhood vibe. To be seated you'll want to ask for an open table from the staff. Once seated we ordered a pitcher of Narragansett Pilsner and a small Caesar Salad (housemade dressing, lemon garlic breadcrumb, pecorino). The pils was excellent and wanted to order a little extra beer since it was the weekend. The Caesar was excellent and the portion was plenty of food for two people. For pizza we ordered a pizza with half sausage and half pepperoni. The pizza was huge and we definitely had to take 3/4s of it to go. The pizza itself was good and was a little heavier than I was expecting. If you are in the person street area and looking for pizza, I definitely would check out the Oakwood Pizza box.

For drinks I ordered the Long Island Iced tea (vodka, rum, tequila, gin, triple sec, sour mix, and a splash of cola) and my partner ordered the Appletini (vodka, sour apple pucker, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup). Both drinks were excellent and were nice and smooth. For our entree we split the Chicken Parmigiana with spaghetti. We also ordered a side of spaghetti and it was the perfect amount of food for two people. The chicken parm was seasoned perfectly and may be one of the best I've ever tried. "Best Pizza" many years running back when that actually meant something. Now? It feels less like a restaurant and more like a nostalgic reenactment gone very wrong. The menu still reads like a dream--Carolina crust this, atomic sauce that--but ordering has become a real exercise in imagination. Half the ingredients are apparently on a spiritual journey and no longer physically present. You'll ask for sharp cheddar and get a thoughtful pause, followed by, "We don't have sharp cheddar, we might have a Wisconsin sharp cheddar?" --which, to their credit, has the word "cheddar" in it. The staff move with the energy of a group project that everyone forgot was due today. Pizzas emerge... interpretively. You might order a margherita and receive something that captures its essence, emotionally, if not structurally. It's less "wrong order" and more "pizza as a suggestion." A master of creative problem-solving, this cashier has boldly redefined the concept of "making change." Why fumble with buttons and math when you can simply hand over two beers and call it even? It's less of a transaction and more of a surprise gift exchange--one where the rules are unclear and the outcome is mildly concerning. And the wine list--oh, the wine list--is a beautiful historical document. A relic. A time capsule from at least six months ago, when bottles still existed and hope flowed freely. Now, asking for wine feels like asking about a long-lost friend. "We don't have that," they'll say, gazing into the middle distance. Still, there's something oddly annoying about it all. Like walking into a once-revered theater that still clings to its golden-age reputation. The performances feel like echoes rather than art, the lighting flat where it once dazzled, and every scene drags with the weight of trying to live up to a forgotten past. It's not bad enough to be a disaster--just disappointing enough to make you wonder if the hype was ever real or if you're just eating the ghost of someone else's great experience. Cheers!
