Stopped in for something quick. I got one item plus the fried rice; it wasn't bad they just give small portion.

Came here with my coworkers. I've been here several times, but I haven't been here in over 2 years…read moreso I was nervous that it'd be drastically different because I loved this place. They did change the menu a bit, but it had what I exactly wanted. We ordered the Szechuan Mala Spicy Rice Noodle Bowl w/ Beef Slices, Popcorn Chicken, Shrimp Tempura, and Xiao Long Bao. The noodle bowl is the best. Tons of flavor and ingredients with the vermicelli noodles are just amazing. The popcorn chicken is delicious, nothing special. The shrimp tempura is delicious and has an amazing crunch. The Xiao Long Bao is more of a soup dumpling dim sum style. It was pretty delicious, but it didn't taste really fresh like you'd get from an actual dim sum restaurant. The staff are friendly and fast. Lots of tables to dine at. Parking lot is a bit small, but you can park on the other side of the buildings where there are more parking.

Probably should have gone somewhere else. So I walked in the location. There wasn't very many people in there. There was two employees, both of them were on the computers. They pretty much ignored me for a couple of minutes before they decided to come. And help me.I looked over the menu fairly quickly.I already knew what I wanted.I wanted the combination fried rice.I noticed that it's said that the fried rice had scallops in it had never tried it before. So decided to give it a try.I was sadly disappointed. First off, I'm gonna start with. I've had scallops in the past and the scallops that they had in there or whatever they where were extremely fishy to the point of the entire Fried Rice tasted like fish. I ate the majority of the Fried Rice. It left an oily fishy taste in my mouth. I was just so hungry. I ate it and I fell asleep. I noticed that I started getting rumble guts in the middle of the night and yeah, you can figure it out from there. I think next time I'll probably steer clear of this place. And I do come to brian college station quite a bit after I ate there. The next night, one of the guys told me that I shouldn't have eaten there. Just walking in the location didn't look very clean.Look kinda unkepped. Would I ever come back? Probably not more like, definitely not. If you want to try it, try it out. Maybe I just had a bad experience. But yeah it wasn't for me. Combo fried rice 1 outa 10 just nasty fishy taste i have never had scallops in Fried Rice. In my entire life until that day I would never have it again. Location 2 outa 10 looked unclean Service 1 outa 10 staff was more interested in the lap top next to the bar.

I didn't want to park at the restaurant across the street and risk getting towed so I parked down the street. The food was pretty solid and definitely feels like a place college students wouldn't mind eating at. I think that was all that was there when we went.

TLDR: food quality went downhill after the renovations; would not recommend anymore…read more It breaks my heart to give Shun de Mom so low of a review. Last year in Spring 2023 (before the semester-long renovations), Shun de Mom was my favorite eatery in CSTAT. I ate here at least 2-3 times/month. However, they're not the same anymore (maybe a different management staff?). For starters, they changed their menu and removed the Thailand Chicken (my favorite dish) along with raising their prices slightly. More importantly, they changed the sauces so "saucy" dishes (like the Orange Chicken) just did not taste good. The chicken lo mein had very little flavor and the noodles seemed "rubbery" for some reason. Lastly, the salt and pepper pork ribs looked exceedingly deep-fried and I'm fairly sure had MSG on them. The only semi-decent dish was the chicken fried rice. So if you're hankering for chicken-fried rice within walking distance of campus, then this is your place. One positive is the servers were exceedingly friendly and the food came out fairly quickly (~10 minutes). The chairs are metal and neither comfortable nor uncomfortable.
