Requested it med-rare. Got it med-well. Bit to chewy for me. Not sure what happened. Did not return the steak due to the cv19 times. And I support small business The lobster tail was good. Didn't mind paying hefty price for a great meal and drinks but I could of gotten this same steak next door or down the street. But.... I haven't been here in years and recently dined twice. The first was to celebrate my birthday. Being a special day with friends, I ordered seafood as this is a seafood restaurant. The clam chowder was pasty and bland. Chef's Seasonal Charcuterie was OK. My Main Lobster Tail dinner was so disappointing and for $75 for two tails I could have gone to Churchill's Market and purchased much better quality. These tails tasted like any other local restaurant lobster nothing special. I tasted my daughter's Delmonico steak and it was good. The service was good but the food was subpar for being a four star restaurant. My second trip. I remember my daughter's steak, so we invited fiends to go have dinner here. I was excited to have a Delmonico steak! I ordered an appetizer of Brussel sprouts. They were doughy and very under cooked. I sent them back and got a new order. They were no different than other restaurants as far as quality and taste, the only difference is they are twice the price from other restaurants. My Ceasar slad was wilty and chewy, not crisp. The taste was good but the romaine... When our Delmonico's came out, they looked perfect! Well until you took the first bite. The were so salty, it ruined my taste buds and meal. I ordered the mash potatoes instead of a baked potato. they were plopped on a plate and had a dried skin layer on the outside. Thet must have sat under the heat lamp for a bit. We went for no special reason and were happy to see some of menu favorites back! (Pretzel crusted grouper) Started with a new menu item, crab cakes as well as our favorite, brussel sprouts. We went to Bluewater Grille last night for our anniversary. We had a reservation, but even so didn't wait a moment to be seated. Our server, Caden, was absolutely delightful. He was efficient and extremely personable. His service was impeccable, and the food was nothing shy of amazing. In fact - this was the absolute best meal that I have had out anywhere in my lifetime and my husband made that exact comment as we were walking back to the car. The entire experience could not have been more perfect. My Delmonico steak was simply fabulous. With a sear to die for, it was cooked exactly as a mid-rare should be, beautifully plated, and with a flavor & texture that made you truly enjoy every bite. My husband had the scallops that looked equally as delicious, and the bread pudding we shared for dessert is still making us shake our heads. Beautiful presentation and a flavor that was just mind-numbing. Thank you Caden, and thank you Mancy's. You have again hit it out of the park (and across the parking lot and into the woods). This is far more than a restaurant. This is a fantastic experience. Amazing food and a great place for a special occasion meal, but also casual (saw people with shorts and a t shirt) if you just want a treat-yourself meal. The cocktails are great, not too much of a wine selection though. The bread and butter is delicious, but I would have liked the bread to be warm when it gets to the table. The crab cakes were a bit smelly and fishy-tasting, but when eaten with the garlic aioli, it was not that bad. I did have a crab shell on my very last bite of the crab cakes. The oysters Rockefeller were delicious, and the raw oysters were great as well. However, one time I did notice sand and shell in 3/6 oysters (every other one I ate), but made the staff aware of the inconsistencies and received compensation. The first time I came, they had a sparkling wine and oysters special where you tried different oysters and different sparkling wines and I loved that. The lobster bisque is creamy and one of the best I have had! Dipping the bread rolls in the bisque is amazing and I definitely recommend. The espresso martini is the best I have had because there is a bunch of flavor from the different liquers, and you still get the espresso taste without it being overly bitter. If you do like the pitch-black bitter espresso martinis however, then you may not enjoy this one as much. Overall, I would come here again for another special occasion! read more

Good evening wanted to let you know about our experience on Sunday, 27 October. Our reservation was for five people at 4 PM, celebrating a birthday. When we arrived there was the music in the background which I felt for a fine dining experience that you wouldn't be playing ghetto music, but possibly maybe instrumental or jazz or something soft but the music was Ghetto was not happy with that. Our waiter arrived at our table took our drink orders came back ordered some appetizers, which were very good and then placed our drink order and our food order. When our food arrived, which was three Delmonico steaks and two of the fillet steaks. The three Delmonico steaks were to be made medium rare and the two filet mignon steaks were to be made medium. The filet mignon steaks came out perfect all three Delmonico came out well done no pink inside two of the Delmonico were sent back the third one he chose to eat , when they brought the two back out again this time they were rare very rare. The one sent his back again at that time when it came out again it was medium rare. I asked the waiter if you guys had a new cook because I could not believe that three of the steaks came out as well as they did when we ordered them medium rare. Since we came early I thought we would have a good dining experience since there were only 3 tables of guest from 4-530pm but I was wrong. All in all for $430 tab, I was not really impressed and when a server John, comes to the table and if you ask him anything, his reply was alrighty alrighty, not very professional he has not Matthew McConaughey . read more

We were in town on a family vacation and wanted to try something we normally wouldn't get at home. Probably should have done a bit more research as we were a bit underdressed. We ordered the large seafood tower.....it's less of a tower and more of a large platter. It was good and had a decent amount of food. There were four of us....not enough food by itself to feed everyone. The shrimp were massive but over cooked, the lobster salad was good but a bit out of place as there wasn't really a vehicle to eat it with. We had the calamari appetizer which was amazing. The lobster bisque had great flavor however my husband's only had one very large piece of lobster meat.....which was a bit hard to breakdown with a spoon. Appetizer: We had the fried cauliflower and calamari for our appetizer and this would be the only thing that brought the score down a little. The cauliflower I felt was over battered and little too oily for my tastes. However the calamari was well fried and their sweet dipping sauce was imaginative and compliments it greatly. We also had the Brussel sprouts which I think could have been crisper, I've had better at Coopers Hawk. Decor/service: very nice ambience, staff was professional and polite. To give you an example, when I needed to go to the restroom, one of the girls from the front desk brought me to the right direction. This is how service should be! Our server Lance was very knowledgeable about the menu and guided us through our meal and was very professional. For the main course, I had the Chilean sea bass and this was phenomenal. The bbq glaze that they had on complimented it wonderfully. I had a French onion soup and Gerwuzetraminer to go with this and it went well. After traveling for several weeks and eating out every day and night, it's easy to get tired of mediocre (or worse) restaurants. That's why it was such a wonderful dinner at Mancy's Bluewater Grille. The atmosphere, the staff and the food were exceptional. We are big fans of Salmon and Mancy's turned it into one of the most memorable dishes we had during our three weeks on the road. This used to be one of our favorite places to meet friends for dinner, but it seems to have changed over time. The steaks were done as requested but were very salty on the outside and the restaurant was very noisy even though it was not crowded. Food: 3/5. A nice size menu, but the menu was full of salt-water seafood, even though Toledo is on Lake Erie-a huge fresh water lake ! The waiter said there had been some fresh-water fish a few weeks ago, but tonight there were none. The cook was heavy handed with the salt and we ended up scraping off the outside of the steak to try to get rid of some of the salt. The crab stuffing was ok. Waiters bring bread to the table to munch on before you order. Caesar salads are large. The vegetable sides are pretty good. Service. 5/5. On the night we were there, only one other table was filled, so the waiter was not over-worked, and he could be attentive and helpful. Facility: Unfortunately, even though the restaurant is attractive & clean, it was so noisy we could hardly carry on a conversation without raising our voices-(even though the restaurant had very few diners.) The music was loud -.Lady Gaga played loudly is not really relaxing dinner music is it? I would presume at these prices, most customers are looking for a pleasant dining experience, not a loud roadhouse atmosphere. Noise amelioration with a few ceiling tiles might be helpful? Location 3/5. Easy access off a fairly busy community street, with adequate on-site parking. If the weather is nice, dining on outdoor tables is a quieter alternative. We stopped in for dinner after a long day driving. We made reservations and were happy to see such a nice restaurant. Corey, our server was fabulous. However, the kitchen was extremely slow when the restaurant wasn't full. A Caesar salad and the bouillabaisse took 45 minutes. The bouillabaisse had no broth to speak of and was missing the scallop. We sat near the kitchen and could hear the "yes chef" shouts while servers lined up waiting for plates. Sad experience. Corey was apologetic but this was totally a kitchen/expo failure. read more

Celebrated the birthday of a friend we decided to go to Mancys Bluewater Grille. Had reservations but were seated in a poor spot at a table with bad chairs. I tried a different chair. Almost fell out of it. Bad chairs plus armor all is a bad idea. Server Deon was ok. Ordered crab cakes for an app. They were acceptable, coming with a lemon aioli and a mango salsa. For $25 the portion was weak but the flavor profile was ok. It went downhill from there. My Ceasar salad was wilted iceberg coated with dressing and nothing else. Ordered 7 oz Filet Mignon. Medium. Mancys has you cut the steak down the middle to see if they cooked it properly. The problem is when they DON'T. Now you are sending back two halves of steak. What was cooked more and returned to me didn't resemble steak. The crust was gone, replaced by a greasy black slime that tasted like greasy black slime. I couldn't eat it. For the first time in my life, I left a steak on my plate. For dessert, we ordered a chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream. The candle was a nice touch. The ice cream had an off taste. Like it was a different flavor. Maybe some odd french vanilla or something. But once I tasted the dry, bitter cake, the ice cream tasted ok. Both served to remove the taste of the steak from my mouth. The server was oblivious to my horrible meal. Mancy's can't cook a steak. With fewer and fewer restaurants to choose from, another that should be excellent at a $150-200 price point for two diners is horrible. The filet they used to serve at Doc Watson's for $9.95 was worlds above this steak from Toledo's leading name in steak. But Mancy's can't cook a steak. And another restaurant comes off the list. I will not return, and when I get the ubiquitous gift cards this holiday season, I will re-gift them. Would not eat at Mancy's Bluewater again for free. There is a trend where people who get a bad review say you were never even their customer. And you only give bad reviews. For verification purposes I saved my receipt. The time was 6:44pm, table was 44/1. Code on receipt is 1/10008. Total was $145.46 Wish you could cook a steak. But you can't. read more

A great place to dine in the lil' city of Maumee. There's a lot of history behind this restaurant. The make all their dishes from scratch everyday. Food & drinks : A good choice of steak and seafood options with the flexibility of a surf n turf. We dint try the appetizers but they have some interesting options on that too. A fully stocked bar adds to the experience. The steak was cooked to perfect and tasted great. The others at our table enjoyed their seafood dishes. Overall, a great dining experience. Service : Ashley was amazing! She did everything right and made our dining experience even better. A Cowboys fan too! Ambience : A near fine dining experience. I used to highly recommend this place, but since COVID, prices are sky high and quality has stagnated. If I'm going to pay that high of a price, I'm probably going to go somewhere a little nicer. The steaks we had were fine. The potatoes were fine. The drinks fine, but again, overpriced. I've had the oysters here, again, they were fine. Noticing a trend? I doubt this place is going to lower their prices any time soon and I doubt they'll change the quality of the menu to reflect the "newer" prices. I went today after I set a reservation in OpenTable. Meagan was our server. The atmosphere and dining room was beautiful, rich, dark, and warm. We had the crab cakes as a starter and it was pretty good (8/10). My ten year old daughter had the tornado Oscar filet mignon , which was also good (8/10). Then my seven year old loves fish , so I got him the fish and chips for 28 dollars (1/10) - STAY AWAY!! Super greasy - their soux chef or fry chef doesn't know how to fry. So saturated with grease/oil and when I told my server she was like "can I get you anything else?" - unfortunately, no..my son is particular ...make him fish and chips that aren't soaked in grease. They did nothing to rectify it - I got to pay for a full order of grease - even when I gave back 2.5 pieces of 3 . She asked me if I wanted something else and I had to waste the 30 dollar cost for cod and potatoes (fries). My wife had the Georges Bank scallop special which she enjoyed (8/10). I had the halibut special (6/10) and it was OK, but was underseasoned. It was my wife's 40th birthday and we got a dessert - which was flourless chocolate cake - it was overly sweet (3/10). Never once had a supervisor come by and ask (most people were well under 35 years old with minimal restaurant experience) and saw nobody who looked like a manager. This is where I got the Yelp App. We did frequent this restaurant often and never had a bad meal. The Mancy Family has always been a top establishment to go to. They have a number of restaurants around town and everyone of them is top shelf. Mr. Mancy would always come and talk with my wife and I when we would come. He did appreciate our business and was happy to see us. The service was excellent and the wait staff was very attentive. The food was great, I always ordered Salmon, my favorite, and it was done to perfection. Just a few minutes from the expressway , easy in and easy out. I took my family to Mancy's Blue water in June of 2023 to celebrate my wife's birthday. The service was miserable, the food was worse. I sent the following review in the form of an email to their "contact Us" section of their web page on June 6th and again in December after receiving a spam email to "enjoy the holidays" Following is my email and now my review since no one from Mancys EVER contacted us. We reserved a table last night at 6:30 for a party of five to celebrate my wife's' birthday. Between the original Phillips St, Italian Grill or the Bluewater, we have always celebrated birthdays at a Mancy's restaurant. Because it was such a beautiful evening, we asked if we could be seated outdoors. Our waitress was friendly enough and brought us water and soft drinks right away. A can of beer? That took a while. Take our order? FAHGETTABOUTIT! (she did). That was the last semblance of service we received from her. Water glasses and soft drinks were running dry and to bring attention to their emptiness we finally placed them on the edge of the table where the sat for another 15 minutes - at least - waiting for her to come out and check on us. Bread and salads took at least 30 minutes. Entrees, when they finally got to us were luke warm because they had sat so long after being plated. More water? I guess there is a two-glass limit or one per hour. Can I get the check? Not if she doesn't bring it. OK - got the check - been waiting 10 minutes - am I supposed to pay inside? We left at 8:37 and we were there before our 6:30 reservation. While we certainly enjoyed sitting around and talking, there was an hour's worth of being ignored padded into that 2+ hour meal. Other people dining outside had their waitress coming out 6-7 times. As bad as that inattention was, the worst part of the experience was my wife's meal. She ordered the crab legs at market price because it was her birthday. I didn't ask how much market price was because it was her birthday. When they came, I thought they were some snow crab legs because they were so spindly. My wife kept complaining on how dry they were. I finally tried some and the legs were desiccated and mealy as if they had either sat in a freezer too long before cooking or had been picked out of the steamer tray the night before and thrown in the oven tonight to warm them up. FOR $150 THESE HAD BETTER BE THE BEST DAMNED CRAB LEGS EVER - NOT TWO OF THE SKINNYEST SPINY POINTS YOU COULD FIND. THERE SHOULD BE AT LEAST 1 CLAW. THERE SHOULD BE NO DOUBT THAT IT IS A KING CRAB LEG AND NOT A SNOW CRAB LEG. THEY SHOULD BE JUICY AND SUCCULENT NOT MEALY AND DESSICATED. While were waiting for the check, wishing we had some more water, the manager stopped by and asked us how everything was. She said we should have let our waitress know the crab legs were horrible. To do that however, we would have needed to see a waitress. My birthday is coming up in June. For $400+, I can go to COSTCO get 10 pounds of fat, juicy king crab legs, 5 thick prime fillet mignons, and a really nice bottle of wine, (or two) and pay our neighbor's 10 year old $20 to be our waiter.
