Decent Chinese food for Logan. It's a little oily and not super flavorful but it's really the best I've had in Logan.

The lunch special is a great value for money deal. All menus are either only 6.5 or 7.5 and the portion is huge. We tried broccoli beef, tiny spicy chicken, mongolian beef, and kung bo shrimp. The vegetables were fresh and tasty, but the meat was just alright. Good service however! read more

If you're looking for Chinese food, you found the best. What it lacks in ambience, it makes up in food. Quantity is great for $6.50 lunch special and combination plates for dinner. I've never ordered something I didn't like. Favorites include: tiny spicy, sweet and sour pork, tsao's, and broccoli and beef. Best egg drop soup I've ever had. Hot and sour isn't bad either. Haven't been inside for dine in but I'll typically do take out from here. The portions are big and food is cheap. Plus the food is great for the price. It's honestly your typical quick Chinese place but better than panda express. I typically order the beef lo mein which is noodles and also comes with a side of rice. Pot stickers are also great here. Went on a Monday afternoon, well past any sort of lunch rush time, if this place even has one (I don't know if they do or don't). Wife and I both got the lunch specials, I got the Sweet and Sour chicken and it was great. Perfect amount of crunch and came out fast and very hot. The rice was also pretty tasty. Food came out so fast, in fact, that I hadn't even gotten half way through my soup when the food arrived. Kinda disappointing since I was really enjoying the soup (Hot and Sour) and had to put that on the back burner to eat the main course. By the time I came back for more soup, it was cold. But I don't think that is their fault. Service was good, food was good, place seemed pretty clean. With 10% USU student discount, I certainly have no complaints and will be back again. I had the tiny spicy chicken combination plate. It had been years since i have been there and I loved it. We just did take out as we were on our way up the canyon. The food was great. I would recommend getting the chicken by itself and the fried rice on the side, you will get twice as much chicken. read more

We lusted for Chinese food after spending a few days in Yellowstone. We ordered 4 common dishes. They were edible except the mixed vegetable in brown sauce. We tasted stale water chestnuts, baby corns and bamboo shoots which were from cans. When we explained to the waitres and asked her to return the dish back to the kitchen, sHe came back with words from the kitchen that we had eaten half the dishes, which was not true, so we must pay half the price of the dish. Mandarin Garden was on our list of restaurants to dine at because we'd never been. We went, fully in the mood for Chinese food, but weren't impressed. Husband ordered the lemon chicken, which had a thick, gelatinous sauce with weak lemon flavor and not nearly enough salt. I got the kung pao chicken (which they spell a bit differently but I can't remember it), and it was better, but too salty and drowning in sauce. It was worth going in to be able to cross it off the list, but I don't think we'll be going back for our usual second try if we can help it. read more

This place is OK. I may have been expecting too much as I had not been back here since college. Back then I thought this place was amazing. I do not think much has changed with the Restaurant, but my expectation of good food has definitely improved. I have eaten here ever since I was a child (literally 20 years) and the decor hasn't changed (for those who care about that sort of thing). You can't go wrong with tiny spicy chicken, chicken with cashews, and kansa shrimp. Although, it seems to depend on the day, I've had both the nasty and the delish, so you feelin' lucky? You get a lot of good food for the price. Service is generally good but they tend to get overwhelmed easily so plan accordingly. Stopped by for a quick lunch and would not go back. I do not recommend eating here. I usually expect Chinese food to be about average, tasty enough to hit the spot and pretty filling. This place didn't meet my idea of the average baseline. If you watch Arrested Development, think Lindsay's "hot ham soup" for their wonton soup. There were weird pieces of ham floating around in the watery soup and the wontons were filled with questionable looking/tasting meat. My friend got a dish with red meat and I got a dish with shrimp. The meat was unappealing in taste, texture, and appearance, and trust me I'm not one to waste or turn down food, but it was pretty gross. I have been eating at the Mandarin Garden for over two decades. Slowly seen it change, but I have never had the experience I had today. I ordered my dish with the omission of a few expensive ingredients. But added some spicy peppers to it. They said "no substitutions allowed." I get that, so I agreed to pay for spicy peppers to be added, (the menu says they have spicy chili peppers and jalepinos in certain dishes), which is what I said to add. When I got my meal, there were three small diced pieces of green bell pepper. I told them this was not what I ordered and paid for. They said that they never had spicy peppers, even after I had paid for them specifically. But the server who took my order couldn't be bothered to even ask. I have worked in the food industry a long time, so I have a lot of patience and even still, always tip handsomely. I was terribly disgusted by the customer service, and disappointed in the quality of food as well. Ps, I generally love the mooshu vegetables, even the menu lists the other ingredients in said dish they have. I literally got all shredded cabbage with three small diced chunks of bell pepper. I hate to write this! it saddens me to say I won't ever be returning to an old family favorite restaurant :( read more

This is not the same Mandarin Garden we all loved 15 or 20 years ago. This isn't even the Mandarin Garden we all kept coming to 2 or 3 years ago. This is now a fake Chinese restaurant trying to milk what little bit of profit is remaining from the once impeccable Mandarin Garden name. If you are taking out, they rarely get your order correct. And they have gone from being down right stingy with their soy sauce and chop sticks to now requiring you to make a special request for Chinese utensils and Chinese condiments. If you ask me, that's pretty lame. Also, with tonight's large order we only received one fortune cookie. If their profits are coming from 30 cents worth of chop sticks, soy sauce and fortune cookies, they are in trouble. Additionally, everyone there can speak impeccable English but they pretend like they can't and they are unable to express themselves to you unless the conversation turns critical towards their food or service. Please take my word this place is fake and their food is only okay ... not wonderful like it use to be. So if your back in town looking for a trip down memory lane, go to Fredrico's or the Italian Place. They are the same now as they were 45 years ago. This place will disappoint you! Surely a college town has to have someplace with good Chinese food. It's the law! I guess that's on our list of things to do: find a real Chinese restaurant that uses the right utensils and condiments and thinks that each person in the party should get their own fortune cookie. read more

The food was pretty good. The service was so bad. I ordered take out didn't even sit in after reading other bad reviews about sitting in. The two girls at the register made me not want to come back. Best chinese in utah... With a solid lunch menu for around six bucks you get an appetizer soup and main dish.

I am a sucker for Won Ton soup and they make a killer bowl. I will defiantly be back for more.

Very good Chinese food and good prices. It's a little different style of Chinese food than I am used to. For instance they don't have Kung Pow Chicken they have Kung Bo Chicken. Which does not have the spices that I am accustomed to. It's just not spicy. read more

Food is decent, but we've had the worst service ever here. We have given it three chances but probably won't be back. Last time we were here we promptly got our drinks and then didn't see a waiter for 40 minutes, until we asked someone to help us. They said the waiter forgot about us. They gave us a small discount which helped, but overall not worth the wait. The same exact thing happened to us tonight when we got drinks and then saw handfuls of servers and waiters who looked at us like we weren't their problem. After half an hour someone apologized and took our order. Ridiculous. I've never left a review but this place needs to work on customer service. I have lived in Logan my whole life and always loved going to Mandarin Gardens, until now! I don't know how or why but it's gone to sh**! First of all the waiter was so bad I don't know how he still has a job. I guess the management doesn't care anymore if their waiters suck. I got better service by getting up and getting what I needed or flagging down a different waiter/waitress! I am just shocked at how bad the service was! Even the guy next to us said he gets stuck with this particular waiter every time he comes in, however now they lost his business because management does nothing about him. So sad. I was also surprised at how little the lunch special servings has become. I won't even go into the presentation of the food! Honestly looked as though my plate had a previous meal scraped off it first and then my meal slopped on top of it! I don't think the waiter even cared or listened to us, then again his accent was so thick that I couldn't understand him. Well that and he mumbled! I'm so disappointed that one of my favorite restaurants is no longer a favorite. I was so embarrassed that I brought my extended family to the restaurant after I had bragged about it being so wonderful. So mortified! Oh and of course the manager wasn't working today. Hmmmmmmm, apparently that's nothing new either, from what I hear. I won't be recommending this restaurant to anyone, ever again! read more

Good Chinese in Logan. We have been looking for a go to Chinese place here in town and may have found our place. It was good but I did have a few suggestions for improvement. I got the Tiny Spicy chicken dinner combo per almost every yelper recommendation but I wasn't blown away. It was good, but you'd think it was the best food I would ever put in my mouth by the reviews of that dish. I would like to try some of the other dishes because the chicken was just OK. One of those times where you feel like maybe the fryer oil isn't fresh.. Cause you can kind of taste it.. Anyways the hot and sour soup was good and we are always fans of potstickers. The chicken lo mein that comes with the dish is very hard to eat for me. It's almost 100% cabbage which makes it very slimy. I could have done without that and just added another scoop of their delicious fried rice. Service was great and the atmosphere is outdated and needs to be redone. But all in all its a good place to get some Chinese food. Portions are huge too. read more

I'll start off by saying this is the best Chinese food we've found in Logan. The sweet and sour chicken is my favorite, fried rice is SO good, and the potstickers were delicious. I haven't had great service dining in or with placing orders over the phone. Last time my order was completely wrong, but I didn't realize till I drove home, and by that point it was too late to go back.
