I went in just today with a friend after calling ahead to make an appointment. We arrived 10 minutes early and still waited almost 30 minutes. We both got basic pedicures which were fine. She got a gel manicure, also fine. I asked for a dip manicure. The lady had no idea what she was doing. When I complained, the manager and older man started screaming at me, the man hit my hands when I was showing him the unprofessional job, they blamed me and then threw me out of the store after they charged my card of course! I have really debating leaving this review. But after much thought and this was my second experience with this nail salon. I wouldn't recommend them. The first visit was in 2021 in June and I got a pedicure. Well the lady ripped off the sides of my toe nail and it ended up getting infected. I told her to stop that it hurt and she kept going. Well this past week I decided I would give them another try and get a full set. Well let just say 6 out of 10 of my fingers have cuts on the side from the lady filing my acrylics. I have been going to Mandy V for several years now and was happy with their work. I recently took my thirteen year old daughter and she said that they were being to rough on her hands and she was not happy with them. They looked horrible the nail polish looked clumpy on the edges of her nails and also one of the nails looked crooked. I showed one of the other employees her nails and she said "they look ugly and took a picture of them". I asked her if they can please fix them and she said I had to ask at the front. So I asked the guy that did her nails if he could please fix them. He started getting upset and started raising he's voice to the other employees speaking only in Japanese. He told me she bits her nails and I said ok but you put fake nails over them and they should not look like that. He sounded so annoyed and said he will fix them and walked away and the owner said that next time you ask for me to do her nails. So they charged me over a $100 and her never fixed her nails. That was very unprofessional he should not have been raising he's voice and very rude only speaking in Japanese. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Wax extraordinaire, Mandy, not only made my legs silky smooth and bikini ready, but she won me over with her friendly and quality service. I called at 2:30, and they were able to see me the same day. The customer service was great, especially after calling around to a few other salons, and having one tell me the earliest they can schedule me to come in and get both a bikini and a lower leg wax at the same time, was in 6 days. Look, if I'm looking like a Wookie, and call your place for a wax - I am not waiting 6 days to return to non-Wookie status. I need hot wax - stat. Mandy gave me one of the best waxes I've ever had, and I've been to a lot of salons. She was very thorough and double-checked her work to make sure there were not any strays. After she finished, she gave me a mirror so I could check her work and let her know if she missed any thing. That was a first, and another reason I liked her shop. She cares about taking care of her clients and making sure they are satisfied. Mandy is a true professional. I have been seeing the same nail/waxing lady for three straight years in Seattle. So naturally I was apprehensive about allowing a new person "down south" for my Brazilian wax. Everytime I have used this web site's recommendations, I have been surprisingly pleased with the outcomes (see other reviews). And this time was no different! I looked up Mandy V's salon on yelp, and after reading her positive reviews, decided I would make the phone call! I explained my situation and my apprehension and was welcomed with understanding from Mandy! I requested her to purchase a specific wax for my bikini line (the same one my previous lady always used). She went above and beyond to attain the special wax I asked for, just to make sure that I would be satisfied! I came in a few days before my scheduled Brazilian wax, so that I could meet Mandy and so that me and a few friends could get pedicures. I had very bad calluses on my feet (embarrassing but true :) I needed a remedy so I could keep up with the summer sandals look! Her husband Vince had just the thing! He put a great deal of time and effort into making sure my feet came out flawless! He had a great sense of humor and joked that we should of taken a before and after picture. He was right though! We should have taken some. The bottom of my feet were like night and day after Vince took care of those pesky calluses with his top secret formula! Went here for a pedicure and bonding time with my 2 teenage daughters. They did a pretty good job, so when my daughter asked me if she could get nails done for her senior prom, I thought this would be a nice place to return our business... so, I took my daughter for manicure and gel polish. What she got was very sore fingers when they used the drill tool that is used on acrylic nails to rough up her NATURAL nail to apply the gel polish. No prep otherwise for nails. no base coat, just 2 coats of gel...and no manicure?! Within 1 hour of being home, gel polish chipped. When I called to complain I was told to have her come in again and they would repaint her nails. I asked about the process and if it had been done correctly and the person, who said she was the "supervisor" says to me, "the other line is calling, I hang up now" and they hung up on me! They can fix the crappy job they did on my daughters polish, but we will not be returning. read more

Went in for a back wax. This is something that men don't talk about much. So I'm gonna risk a little embarrassment for the greater good. This was my first time for a wax and first time at this salon. They were very friendly and professional and took me even though I only called 30 minutes earlier. I felt like more could have been done as far as preparing me for the treatment. The only thing the really did was let me know about the cost. It was painful but she was friendly and helped communicate the progress. Overall not a bad experience but after reading online afterwards maybe more info about the type of wax, care afterwards, and general process would have made a better experience. Im very disappointed in their lack of customer service.. I've been a customer here for several years until I was unsatisfied with a set of nails. Once their work is done, whether or not you are satisfied, they do not care. I got a set of nails done by the owner and was not happy with the outcome. I went back not even 24 hours later to see what she could do for me. I let her know I was not happy with the nails and all she told me was "you picked that color" and proceeded to sit back down. I told her that I had spent over $100 dollars the day before. I understand that I choose the color, but she could have at least looked at them to see what she could have done to try and fix them...my family and I go there at least 2-3 times a month. It would have been as easy as a color change and for that, they have lost our business. read more

I wish I could find a Mandy V's in the Austin area. The salon is super clean and well decorated, the staff is very friendly and, most importantly, the pedicure is inexpensive AND good. I chose the $28 "deluxe" pedi (not sure if they actually call it deluxe, but that's what I called it), which includes a vigorous salt scrub and foot "mask." They have a decent selection of nail polish colors and carry OPI products (not Oh.PI or EPI or some other knock-off brand). Best of all, my pedicure has already lasted a week without chipping. went for a mani pedi the lady that did my pedi was great the man that did my new set didn't do what I wanted didn't even ask for the picture I showed the lady that asked what I wanted. My nails are way to long after I said I wanted them short. he told me he'd file them down shorter that didn't happen. I asked for an green and teal ombré color and didn't even get an ombre. Both hands are different shades of green. When I asked to fix them and just have a solid color I was told they looked like the picture. Very clean & friendly. There are 10 adult pedicure chairs, 2 children's pedicure chairs & 10-12 nail stations. They're also staffed so that even when slammed busy there is not a long wait. Prices are reasonable, I spent $40 on a #3 deluxe pedicure (including tax) & it was worth every penny. I also noticed, & appreciated, the cleanliness. Best gel manicure I've ever had! I hardly ever get my nails done because I always find myself dissatisfied. That was not the case when I visited Mandy V's. Tram did an amazing job! My cuticles are usually out of control, and Tram tamed them without drawing blood! I've left many a nail salon with cuts and sore nail beds and never returned. I will be coming back to Mandy V's. Took a major risk on making a same-day appoint at Mandy V's but I was very pleasantly surprised. The YELP reviews helped me make a precursory decision to make an appointment. Mandy's quality bikini wax was done with professionalism, courtesy, and privacy. (Ever had a Brazilian done to ya at a nail shop and in walks one of the nail techs??? Yep. Happened in LA) This is a VERY CLEAN shop and comes highly recommended. I typically don't like to mix waxing and acrylic BUT I can tell you with 100% confidence that I suspect Mandy V's does nails as great as they do waxes.
