Met our Kinfolks here for a late Lunch, we live in another area of Texas and being our First here not sure what to expect but was very surprised to find out they were excellent, each Dish tasted better than the last! No one was here but us, I think it is because Yelp showed them closed on Sunday! Which means they need to correct the hours on this site! Luckily a few other Diners came in as we were leaving! I would hate for People not to come in because they thought the place was closed. I pointed it out to the staff! They said they would look into it! Back to the review! The appetizers were delicious, and prepared to perfection! Sorry no pictures, were taken! Were select three, stuff mushrooms/ meatballs, mussels, and the mozzarella sticks! For my Lunch, I selected the Chicken Parmigiana, which came with a side salad, which was very delicious, both the salad and my main course! It not only tasted delicious but looked delicious too! Served with spaghetti and mixed vegetables! A Joy with every bite I ate! Everyone else said they loved their plates as well. Afterwards a few of us ordered dessert! I was just too full, I did sample the two that came to the table! The tiramisu and the crème brûlée! Both looked delicious, and both Tasted Delicious! I went to Mangia Bistro this past weekend with six of my friends. Upon arriving, I was a bit surprised to find the restaurant mostly empty. However, it's not too shocking considering it's a newly opened establishment with less than ten reviews at the time of writing. My initial impression, based on the table settings and the wine racks inside, was that it looked like a great Italian restaurant. They had a decent wine selection, so we ordered a couple of bottles for the table, and both were fantastic. I mostly had the Malbec, which was great for its price. For starters, we had the stuffed mushrooms, which were also enjoyable. I must say, however, that the complimentary bread and garlic oil dip were the real stars of the appetizers. For my entree, I ordered the scallops and risotto. The scallops were decent, but the risotto was absolutely amazing! Regarding service, we felt very well taken care of. The server consistently made sure we were looked after, and our glasses were never empty. If you're in the Plano area, I recommend giving this place a try. The food was good, and the service and atmosphere made for a lovely dinner with friends. read more

I went to Mangia Bistro in Plano at 11:25 am on a Friday and the restaurant was deserted; no other customers and no server. The only person around was the cook in the kitchen. As I waited I noticed immediately that the Italian music being broadcast through the ceiling speakers was at an ear-splitting volume. Finally the server appeared and told me to sit anywhere. After I chose a table as far from an overhead speaker as possible, the server took my drink order while I waited for my friend to arrive. I had to nearly scream to talk with the server and asked her to please lower the music volume so that my friend and I could have a normal conversation. However, the music remained at the same uncomfortably loud level. When my friend arrived several minutes later I suggested we go elsewhere due to the noise level, and she immediately agreed. The server was nowhere in sight, so I informed the cook why we were leaving. He just shrugged his shoulders. As we headed across the parking lot to the restaurant next door, the server raced out the back door of Mangia Bistro and chased us across the parking lot. We stopped to hear what she had to say. She told us that she had trouble finding the volume control for the music and said something about not having the keys. I acknowledged her comment and told her we were done with Mangia Bistro and were going to go elsewhere. I wish I could have had an opportunity to try the food. But I concluded that the dining room at Mangia Bistro was empty for a reason. I won't be giving them a second chance. BTW - the restaurant next door was packed with customers and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch there. read more

Delicious Italian cuisine in downtown Plano! I've been a long-time fan of the owner's Richardson classic, Aboca's. I couldn't believe my luck when they came up to Plano. Food is well prepared, flavorful and not "basic Italian." Service is exceptional as well. I recommend going during lunch for a quiet meeting location with tons of lunch special options. We had our company holiday party here. Everyone LOVED all the food. I will admit Italian is not usually my go-to but this place has opened my eyes! The mozzarella fritti was so wonderful. Fresh mozzarella and hand breaded. Oozing creamy goodness with very crispy and light breading. The marinara was so flavorful. The house salad is wonderful and I was surprised it had so many ingredients. Our event was served homestyle. So I tried many dishes, all fabulous! Chucuterrie, fresh yummy bread, meatballs, alfredo (pretty sure the pasta was fresh), chicken parmesan, and dessert. The tomato sauce for the meatballs was so yummy too! The service was spot on and everything was immaculate. I will admit I was struck with how clean the restroom smelled! This place will be a go-to for me! WARNING: Do not park in Fish N Tail's lot or you will be towed!!! The parking lot appears shared with Fish N Tail's next door but it is not.y friend's car got towed. And it's not like Fish N Tail's was busy. This was the middle of the afternoon and Fish N Tail's had no customers! The tow truck driver even admitted they have a deal with Fish N Tail's. The food is wonderful. I love going to this place because the owner is so involved. He is so sweet and he waits on his customers. The ambiance is nice and relaxing. The Mangia scallops are delicious. I had that last time. This time I got a margherita pizza which is amazing! I had gastric bypass so I do not eat a whole lot. I am worried the owner thought I didn't love my pizza. That is not the case. I just couldn't fit anymore. Everything from this restaurant is delicious so far. We got 3 cannolis on the house. He personally has our food boxed up for us every time we go. The wine list is extensive. Please give this restaurant a chance! You will not be disappointed. The live music was also very enjoyable. read more

First time coming here for a dinner party, and i'm not sure how to feel about my experience. Staff was lovely and helpful, especially when dealing with such a big group. We started the night with the limoncello cocktail and it tasted decent. Not sure if I would reorder the drink again personally, but it wasn't a bad way to start the evening. Next we tried the calamari as the appetizer and I have to say I was very disappointed. Our food took a good minute to come out, but I did appreciate that most of the food came out together. I ordered the shrimp alfredo and thought it saved the evening for me. The side salad that I chose to pair with my dish felt very small, but had a great dressing. Overall, I enjoyed my evening, but not sure if I would be choosing this restaurant as my first pick. read more

Took friends to Mangia Bistro during the late afternoon/early evening. We had such a great time. The food is amazing. All of us were impressed with the choices as well as the quality and taste of each dish. Our sweet server did a great job. I looked this place up on yelp and gave them a call to ensure that they had lamb chops and they did so I got dressed and we headed to them. Now I must say this place was decorated nicely it wasn't too busy but it's very spacious very. I ordered the rack of lamb and it was actually prepared by the owner himself he seasoned it to perfection and even came to the table to make sure everything was good while we was there we had some wine the owner made sure that this was a night to remember for us.
