immediate seating...ordered fish..wasnt hot after first bite.."smashed" the end to show server it wasnt hot..was returned to kitchen. put back into fryer AFTER i had it in my mouth AND touched with my hands.returned to me in a yellow pool of grease.. didnt eat dinner nor was i asked if i wanted anything else in its place..pasta fagioli soup, which was informed its made "in house" more like a can of tomato soup with rigatoni type noodles and a few beans. crackers with the fish dip were stale..needless to say not a good first impression. when informing the restaurant, was basically called a liar and told they DO NOT put eaten food back in the fryer..maybe not but i was reserved a piece of fish IDENTICAL to the fish that was sent back..been going there since it was manatees..but its not the same..they wont go out of business if we dont return but its not on our list of places to dine again ;-( read more

Sorry food was awful. I ordered two separate pasta dishes the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and the linguine w/ the bolognese sauce. Completely flavorless and bland. Also ordered two appetizers the meatballs w/ ricotta. The meatballs had no seasoning tasted like WAWA meatballs. The wings were just thrown on a dinner plate w/ no real thought. The pasta fagioli was watered down tomato sauce with noodles and a few beans. I felt bad for the gentleman singing so we gave him a $20 tip. ( was completely dead) ***** they also charged a credit card fee***** Please don't pass off your expense to your customers. We've been a few times for their lunch specials. There's a pick of about 10 items which include ff or salad for $12.00!!!! Our server Jo was very nice and friendly. Our drinks were served right away and our food followed shortly. I got the cheeseburger with ff, my husband got the sausage and peppers sub with fr. The food was very good. Jo checked on us often to make sure all was good. Their October dinner specials are 3 course meals of about 10 entrees for $15.95!!!!! Will definitely be going back! read more

My parents found this gem about a month ago and decided to take us while we were there on vacation. Let me tell you, if you get the chance you have to go. There summer menu has unbelievable pricing. You get so much food for the price tag. Coming from a NYer this was good Italian cuisine. I will definitely be returning when I come down again. Let's just say there was one to two days worth of leftovers to enjoy. There was live music outside and a spacious inside air conditioned seating where we ate. All the food was cooked perfectly and done well. The staff was kind and attentive. But definitely get the cannoli for dessert soooo delish. Good job Mangia! Can't wait to come back! read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant situated in the heart of downtown Port Salerno. It stands as a welcoming establishment among a collection of restaurants and bars lining the waterfront. Given the lackluster history of previous businesses here, my expectations were initially modest. However, upon arrival, it became evident that the staff operates like a well-oiled machine, delivering attentive, friendly, and professional service. Personally, I hold a discerning palate for two Italian dishes: linguini with clams in a white wine sauce and chicken parmigiana. Serendipitously, my wife ordered the chicken parmigiana while I opted for the linguini with clams. The linguini was generously adorned with little neck clams and garlic, cooked to perfection. The dish was so abundant that the linguini was almost obscured--a truly delightful experience. The chicken parmigiana boasted a satisfying crunch on the outside and impeccable cooking inside. Our companions selected the grouper sandwiches, and we were all content with our choices. Seeing how many locals were here on a Monday night in the off-season, my guess is this place will be packed when the season is in full swing. And why not? With good food, excellent service, waterfront views and entertainment this will be a hit. Remarkably, this satisfying dining experience came without an exorbitant price tag. Worst food experience in a long time. My wife returned the New England Clam chowder I can't blame her it was really bad I ordered the pasta fagiole soup it was the worst I've had in any restaurant ever I just let it sit there the fried shrimp was obviously frozen not fresh the chicken marsala barely edible also previously frozen the mushroom sauce was bland. Even the espresso martini was mediocre. This is a one time thing never going back. Just really bad food and the prices aren't commensurate with the quality. read more

Visited this restaurant Monday,12/16/2024. Sat down at 12:30, ordered lunch around 12:50. Meal was served at 1:30! Service and the attitude of the waiter and owner was awful. I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely no ambiance whatsoever. read more

The place is nice and trendy. Very friendly staff and nice live music. We had ordered peel and eat shrimp, fish dip, wine, shrimp scampi and shrimp marinara with pasta. Everyone loved their food and bill was very appropriate for the services and food received. Scampi was a little too much wine for my liking but I don't necessarily se it as a negative, just be aware. read more

I had been in town for a week and had not had any seafood. I decided to eat here on my last night since I had been riding by it all week and was looking forward to some seafood, sitting outside, looking at water. I sat at the outside bar, which had a couple of groups of people already starting their Friday happy hour. I sat down, and was there almost 10 minutes and was never acknowledged by the bartender. He was chatting with other patrons, doing things behind the bar, and even left the area to get something. When he returned, 2 couples came in and sat at the bar and he immediately took their order. When he walked past me, he caught my eye since I was looking at him and he finally acknowledged me. I placed my order for a scallop roll with fries. The scallop roll came out, and I was shocked to see 6 small scallops, which had heavy fried batter all over them (it was like the scallops came in a fried shell). Disappointing to say the least. I would have to say this is a place I would not eat at again. Bad customer service and not good food (at least what I ordered). read more

We've been coming here for years when it was manatee Island. Wr were sad to see it go. Imagine our surprise when we come back to Mangia, and It's improved! Let me start by saying Bill and Kim are back as bartenders. They are the best, and have been there for years. Previous owners food was marginal, but we always came for the atmosphere. Mangia's food does not disappoint. Thought it was a little strange having an Italian restaurant under a Tiki setting, but wow, it's yummy. To be fair all we've had is the early bird 4 course dinner for $21.95.( what a deal!). I've been ordering the same thing almost every time, because it's delicious. I have tried a few other options, but keep coming back, because it's that good. I usually start out with a Caesar salad that has the best Caesar dressing I've ever tasted. I order Sole Franchise, which is also the best I've ever tasted. Hints of lemon with a savory sauce. I also get a big bowl of Linguini with meat marinara sauce. Yum as well. For desert I have a delicious cannoli and coffee. Perfect meal that you could not make for that price. Come early for happy hour and order the early bird before 5:30 and you will not leave disappointed. read more

Needs improvement: I've been here 4 times since they opened trying to give this new restaurant a chance. The service was always good and staff is very friendly. The food needs some improvement in a # of areas. I'll start with the good: - Chicken Milanese -eggplant parm sub -fillet tip sandwich Good only if you change the dressing: (the salads come with the balsamic dressing which is typically my favorite at home/other restaurants but theirs is the worst dressing I've ever had; it's 95% oil with no flavor. Steak tip salad (substituted blue cheese dressing) Pecan salad (substituted blue cheese dressing) Needs Improvement: -godfather hero - there is no sauce, Mayo, dressing all all. It's just meat/cheese in plain dry white sub roll. - chicken sandwich with mozzarella, red peppers, basil - this again had no sauce of any kind and was very bland with little flavor ( it would probably be good if they added pesto sauce to the roll) -side dish of broccoli tasted like they cooked it in the same pan as fish - pizza slice (as part of lunch combo) tasted like it sat and was reheated multiple times. It had that bright orange grease caked on the top -pasta Fagioli soup - tasted like Campbell's tomato soup with beans and big pieces of rigatoni . read more

Sunday afternoon and great music by Jason Montero, perfect weather for dining on the deck in the Pocket. This time we decided to try the Pizza, several friends said it was good. My wife was thrilled to find they offered a gluten-free pizza (allergies). She said it was very delicious, best gluten free she's ever eaten. I ordered a 12" Pepperoni/Black Olive regular pie. The crust was very good, crispy outside soft inside. Mozzarella cheese was yummy, lots of toppings and good flavor. If only they would sprinkle some oregano on it, or serve some on the table like the parmesan cheese. We had great service (thanks Joseph), beers were cold, and atmosphere awesome. I still think Happy Hour should go till 6PM, (not 5PM) Worth checking out for yourself! read more

I have avoided this place due to the previous manifestation. I had lunch with two friends and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and guantity. Very good service, good taste and the specials provide some of the best value around. I had the sausage pepper sandwich my friends had boiled shrimp and prox fixed all day chicken parm & pasta, drink, desert and salad for 16$ crazy cheap and good. We love coming to Manga, great food and the best staff. We usually sit outside at the tiki bar and enjoy the live music, trivia, or karaoke. Great spot if your looking to enjoy the waterfront but not over crowded with people. Some of my favored foods from here are the meatballs, bruschetta, and pizza. We were seated outside by request and the hostess, Diane, placed us in the shade and asked if we liked the location. Went to Mangia for the first time last night. What a great experience! The food was excellent! Everything we had was made fresh which was a pleasant surprise...not always the case around here. I had the chicken Milanese and my husband had the sausage and pepper hero. So many things to choose from. Can't say enough about the service, Brittany is probably the best waitress we've had since moving here two years ago. Genuinely friendly and cares that you have a good experience. We also enjoyed listening to the guitar player/singer last night... very talented. Tiki bar had heaters so it made for a very pleasant cool Florida evening. read more

We really tested them. We were there early and everything was brought out on time and hot and delicious. Next time I will have the linguine and white clam sauce for 1599 which is the lowest anywhere I just have to see how it taste but anywhere else it's five dollars and more which is just basically gouging this place all their prices are decent. . Tried Mangia for the first time. We had take out summer specials, we both enjoyed our entrees (chicken piccata and chicken Marsala) nice portions abundance of mushrooms on the Marsala, both very tasty sauce. We were not fans of the pasta e fagiole mainly because it was different from how we make it. Broccoli was plentiful for us to share. We also were not fans of the pasta in meat sauce again because it was different from how we make ours. We thoroughly enjoyed the Italian cheese cake ( flavor and texture very good). The portion was very generous glad we only ordered one to share. Overall 4.0 and we are particular about food, especially Italian food. We will definitely try more items. read more

Terrible! Had one drink and left. The owner was extremely rude and talked to us like children. We refused to order food because the vibe was ruined. It's no longer laid back. Also who needs 4 menus?? Our server was great but the obvious NY attitude from the owner was downright disgusting. I can't imagine being one of his employees! Saying it's non smoking is a joke. People were outside smoking and it was blowing back in our faces. 0 out of 10. Would NOT recommend. We left and went to Shrimpers across the way and had a wonderful time and excellent food. read more
