Worst restaurant I've been to. Sat down with a party of 6. 10 minutes later the waitress finally came over to take our order. 1 Taco Pizza, 1 White Pie, and two pitchers of soda. The drink glasses were disgusting, looked like drinks were poured out left to dry and reused. My glass had leftover chocolate milk residue and my wifes cup had what appeared to be lipstick on the rim. The other glasses were no better. Waitress when confronted apologized and said "I know im sorry" and continued to blame someone in the back. The pizza crust tasted like pre-made school pizza. As we were leaving the wairess continued to apologize and blame herself for having a bad day, her asthma, complaining about people in the back who allegedly take her tips. I just placed an order. It arrived almost 2 hours late. Over an hour after the food was supposed to arrive the driver called from the wrong address in an entirely different town 15 minutes away asking where we were. I just got off the phone with the restaurant. After I explained the situation to the young woman who answered the phone she became defensive and simply said "yes we have the correct address in the system goodbye" and hung up. They belonged providing a discount for next time given that we still had to pay for cold food and still gave a generous tip. Management should address this instead of driving customers away. I will not order from here again until this is rectified. Make sure to read the reviews before ordering from here! When this place opened 10 years ago it was fantastic. Now, it is horrible largely in part due to the staff who are reckless and could care less about customers. Pros: They have great pizza with a variety of toppings and decent pasta dishes. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and a friendly staff. The prices are reasonable and you get a good-sized portion. Cons: For takeout, they don't wear gloves while handling your money and pizza. So if you are a germaphobe, don't scrutinize them, especially if you ask to add toppings. I also ordered a chicken parm for my contractor and he said it was the best he ever had! I've met the staff and the owner/manager who are really nice people. Well my daughter and I have always liked Mangiamo's I have taken her since she was little. Tonight was the last night, we were the only ones sitting outside and ordered a pizza with half eggplant. What I received was a precooked pizza that they put eggplant on and covered that side with fresh cheese. You could obviously tell the difference when it came out it wasn't fresh out of the oven and I am disappointed. I get we are having tough times all over told the waiter afterwards but we were hungry and a hangry teenager didn't help. So I eat at this restaurant often and the service and food is always outstanding. My wife needed a baby shower fruit basket so while I was there I asked if they could make it. Mind you this is no ordinary fruit basket, this is a fruit basket that looks like a baby carriage with wheels on it and handlebars to push the stroller and probably about nine different types of fruit. Something that you would see add a five star wedding hall, hand carved. They said absolutely!! I gave them a picture of what I wanted and sure enough it was perfect, better then the picture I gave them. I also order two trays of Italian pastry's, they were awsome also. Especially the little cannolis. This place serves great food and caters for lots of different events. I have used them for office meeting and business lunches and its always perfect. I use to eat lunch here all the time. Until one day i had a philly cheese steak sandwich and found a maggot in it. I called them and they sent someone over i think it was the owner or manager. All my co workers agreed it was a maggot it was GROSS ! He saw it and closed up the sandwich and denied it was a bug! He refunded my money but ill NEVER eat there again neither have my 25 coworkers ! So not worth the trip. Ordered one slice to go on my way home. Total $3.96 - FOR ONE SLICE 5 people behind counter, 2 people working. Girl at register taking orders & warming up slices. After paying my for my slice I waited a good 6-7 mins while she rang up the other customers. I asked her if it was going to burn, she said no. Finally, one of the other guys pulled out my slice. Very disappointed in their delivery service. Ordered over $100 worth and specified utensils, etc. Would be necessary for at least 8ppl. Our pizza, wings and potato skins arrived after an hour, cold and we had to eat our salads with our hands. I've visited this place several times. Although I do love the pizza here .. there are other pizzerias that can put out a good pie as well. The service lacks here. I came in one afternoon to order a sandwich and soup and sat down at a table. Waited 40 minutes ! And was completely ignored by every server in the place. In addition the zeppoles are terrible, swimming in butter and tastes raw and or like cottage cheese in the center? Not your traditional zeppoles. Came here on Sunday night and ordered a Panini - I thought it was going to come with grilled chicken (my "mistake") but the breaded chicken cutlet and the honey mustard it came with was great as well as the panini bread, which tasted fresh. This place knocked it out of the park. I hosted a Christmas Party for 25 friends at my house in Mahwah, and ordered their Hot Buffet for 25 - 30 people which set me back 375 dollars. They came with a full tray of Chicken Parma, full tray of Penne Vodka, and tray of sausage and peppers. According to their menu, it was supposed to be a veal dish, but veal is one of those weird foods that is not universally popular. So they were more than happy to substitute out the sausage and peppers for the veal dish. They also provided a delicious antipasto salad, fresh mozz and tomato salad, dinner salad as well as complete set up. They arrived right on time to set everything up. What else more positive can I say. Oh yeah, there were only a couple of servings of Penne Vodka left, but everything else was devoured. This is the third time I've ordered from mangiamo and had no choice but write a review. I decided to give this restaurant another chance but this was the 3rd time I've been disappointed. Food was cold, bread was burnt. Chicken in the pasta was minimal and cut up into kid size bites. The food lacked taste and was bland, felt like Ordering from Olive Garden would have been better. For what they charge on their menu prices and what you get I say try another restaurant. There are 2 restaurants nearby you should try before wasting your money here...try Nonnas or Anthony Franco's. read more
