Horrible restaurant, never go here. The steak on our first visit was horrible. Bland taste and no flavor, the server was slow, so poor service and experience overall. Our second visit we decided to give it a second chance and tried the nachos. There was nothing good about the nachos. It was just chips and cheese thrown on a plate and thrown in the microwave. Awful experience. The service wasn't too bad this time but the food was nothing special. We will not be returning ever. We hope this review is helpful to others. read more

Great location overlooking boardwalk. We ate lunch there and had no wait (@ 11:30AM). We were 7 in our group, 5 adults and 2 kids. The food is alright, the service is good. We had crab cake sandwiches (small crabcake on a huge roll), seared tuna sandwiches (good), jamaican jerk sandwich (good), chicken fingers (OK). All in all not a bad meal- just not memorable either. read more

Second star for our friendly waitress. One star for food and drinks. We ordered wings and 5 minutes later they came out cold. I pressed my finger in and felt some warmth but they'd obviously been sitting for ten + minutes from someone else's order. I didn't want to get into sending them back and asking for a fresh order because I just assumed they'd do the same again and maybe throw them in the microwave. I asked for a margarita and specified please only tequila, triple sec and fresh lime juice. I confirmed they had the ability and the waitress went to check and said yes. My drink came with roses like or something else other than lime juice. My girlfriends drink was watered down and tasted like a remake from a drink that had sat a while. We sent it all back and asked for a check, explaining we were unhappy and just wanted to leave. No manager ever came. We left extremely disappointed. I will not ever trust Mangoes for anything, neither food nor bev. read more

We make sure Mangos is on our to do list every trip to Bethany. Happy hour starts at 1. The specials aren't as good as they used to be, but I'm sure I'm not as good as I used to be either. Get the mangorita, wings, and fish tacos. read more

Come for a good DRINKING time. I can't comment on the food, I've heard it's mediocre. 5 Stars for Henry's Sunset Bar (front bar) from Memorial to Labor Day for the best drinks. The problem about Bethany is that there aren't a lot of bars with in safe stumbling distance. You have to stay or drive to Dewey or Rehobeth, or be within walking distance of this place or the Cottage. That being said, while the food wasn't incredible, it was totally edible, and it was a fun place to hang out until last call, which sadly in DE, is 12:45 ish. Bah. The highlight of this place for me was 1) the 24 oz margaritas 2)the fact that all the super cute lifeguards hang out there, tres) the live music, and 4) the excellent view of the beach. I guess the crab cake wasn't half bad. But apparently that's all you can eat at the shore...fish. I want some flipping beef. Or green things, there was a definite derth of those too. Don't go to mangos to eat--go to imbibe. read more

We had high hopes but were told the wait would be long although many open tables, thankful that we were seated in 10 minutes. The nachos were soaked in salsa and had little cheese.... certainly not worth the 17$ price tag. Outside of the tacos the chicken broccoli pasta was awful. I love the environment in here and the great view from the deck, but overall the food is just so-so and the alcohol drinks are overpriced. I've eaten here a few times, most recently on Labor Day with my husband and parents. My crab cake sandwich was full of filler and shell- nothing memorable or even seasoned. I'm really suprised by the hit and miss reviews here. We only had lunch here once, but sat outside on the roof overlooking the ocean. The view made it worthwhile. Sandwiches were reasonably priced, and a good size. Nobody at our table had any complaints. Can't speak for the dinner service, but the dinner entrees do run quite a bit more than the lunch items. read more

The only good thing at this restaurant/bar is the view. Very poor customer service by hostess and manager. Ridiculous that you can only get the happy hour from 1-6 at the BAR! If you sit at a regular table you have to pay menu prices. Got the nachos and they were plain, nothing special about them. Could have thrown them together in my kitchen at 11 at night. The drinks were pretty decent as well. The issue was when we walked in the hostess asked us if we were here to eat or happy hour... Not knowing quite what she meant, we stated we were going to drink but wanted to get food as well. She said that happy hour was only available at the bars, then stopped talking. The food is wildly overpriced ($17 for nachos with a few pieces of "pulled pork" with soggy chips, chewy, overcooked cheese and salsa that tastes like marinara sauce), the service is bad, the bathrooms are disgusting and the drinks are weak. Post-labor day, slow weekday happy hour visit. Servers hang in a click, project a snobby vibe and take 10-15 minutes to approach the table. Bathrooms gross as mentioned. Ordered one of everything from the HH food menu for a group of 6. Fish tacos were a single cod fish stick atop of some iceberg/pico. Gross, and a solid representation of the rest of their menu. I don't understand the bad reviews here. My family has come to bethany every summer for years and we always make sure to eat at mangos! The atmosphere is super fun and tropical and if you get a chance to eat on the deck outside the view is beautiful. The staff has always been attentive and kind. This year we got the spinach crab dip to start which had lots of crab in it and was really yummy. My parents got the swordfish and halibut and raved about both although my mom said the pineapple topping on the halibut was just alright. I get the salmon every year and it never disappoints. It's perfectly cooked and the chipotle mango cream sauce is spectacular. Their mangoritas are pretty tasty. It was also my friends birthday and they gave her a free desert. She picked key lime pie and it was very good. I think it could have been just a little more tart but it was still delicious. The prices can seem a little high but not when you compare it to all the other restaurants around here. The wait can also be a little long sometimes so be sure to make a reservation! read more

Been going to this place for 15 years, ever since it was called Mango Mikes. The food has gone down hill. Every thing on the menu is lackluster and sloppily made. The Mahi tacos gave me diarrhea. The nachos are an abomination. The only thing I like on the menu is the cocoloconut shrimp. Unfortunately, this place is sometimes the only option because it has the space and Bethany has become so crowded. The servers and service is awful. They are rude and slow. The bartenders at main bar are good. Really, this place is only ok to go to if you're desperate and out of options or want 1 drink. This place is a skip. I avoid it at all costs now. It's gross and it sucks. I bet they have a million health code violations. Get better please! read more

Mangos is a beachfront spot that knows it's the only game in town. Because there aren't any other low-key, casual beachfront bar/restaurants in Bethany (there is a ridiculously expensive wine bar, which clearly provides a different experience), Mangos can afford to be extremely sub-par. They have literally cornered the market and simply don't care that the service is terrible, the food is BAD, and the drinks are laughably overpriced. We arrived on the early side of happy hour, around 4:30 on a Thursday afternoon. The three hostesses seemed like they really didn't want to be there, but were willing to sit us outside on the upstairs porch/balcony. There was one other table there when we arrived. We sat outside for 10 minutes, waiting for our drink orders to be taken. Nothing happened. I went inside to the host stand and let them know that no one had come to take our orders and she asked me where on the porch we were sitting. This was the same girl who had sat us 10 minutes earlier. We were, at this point, THE ONLY PEOPLE on the porch, as the other table had left. It was still early, and the restaurant wasn't nearly busy enough to warrant that kind of confusion. The host told me she would send our serve outside immediately, so I went back to wait. Another five minutes goes by and we decide to move to another table on the completely empty porch, where we sat for three or four more minutes, with no one coming by. At this point, I was ready to walk out. It turns out that our changing tables on the totally empty porch was enough to cause one of the servers to notice that we were out there, but instead of taking our orders, she came out to tell us that we couldn't sit where we had moved to. So we moved again, still with no drinks, no water, nothing, and at the same time that we moved, another group was seated where we had initially sat down, and their orders were immediately taken. Finally, a server came to our table and tried to explain that because we had switched seats (after 15 minutes of zero service, on a totally empty porch), there "was some confusion." No manager offered any kind of apology, but by this point we just wanted some drinks and appetizers. The drinks are overpriced and boring. I had two pina coladas and a peach mimosa, all of which were totally underwhelming. The boiled shrimp were totally overcooked, to the point where it was impossible to get the shells off of some of them. The crab dip was tasty, but not worth it for the price, given the three tablespoons of dip we received. If you're staying at Bethany Beach, do yourself a favor and go to the store and just cook, or order takeout from somewhere. Mangos is an absolute racket. Avoid if at all possible. read more

I am a 22 year old guy and I went up to order a drink from the bar in the middle of the restaurant. I was in the process of renewing my drivers license so my current one was voided by the DMV, however the DMV issued me a document that served as a temporary ID until the new one came in the mail. I showed this to the bartender and he told me he couldn't serve me because my height on the DMV document didn't match the height on my license (which I got at age 16). I told him I grew since then and he still wouldn't accept it. So I went downstairs to another restaurant called heidaway to order a drink there. The bartender upstairs sent one of his employees to FOLLOW me downstairs to alert the bartender downstairs that I was using a "fake ID" so the downstairs bartender didn't serve me despite my explanation that it was a valid ID from the DMV. Long story short the Mango's bartender is overqualified for his job. Promote him to the FBI. 0/10 would not recommend. read more

I'm really surprised by the negative reviews. We ate at Mangos last night and loved it. The service was great. We were seated right on time of our reservation outside as requested. The view is beautiful. Our server took our drink order within 3 minutes of being seated. Service was fast and friendly. Our food came out hot and honestly was delicious! The crab and spinach cheese dip was excellent. Again, really surprised by some of the reviews, I truly thought it was outstanding and we will be back! read more

The only good thing I can say about this place is the view and the mangorita. I'd rather eat something from an easy bake oven than the food at this place. The nachos look like they were microwaved with plastic. After mentioning the chips were burnt and the cheese not even gooey to the server, we were still charged $10.00 for the food we didn't even touch. The service is subpar at best. Don't expect to get more than one drink during your visit. All I can say is come for the view and not much else. read more

This place came highly recommended to us so we decided to check it out. We came for happy hour for drinks and appetizers. We sat at at a bar table that the waitress was clearing off when we arrived. She knew we were there and thought she'd come right back to wipe it off and bring menus. 10 minutes later we are still waiting so had to flag down someone to wipe the table off and had to go get menus myself. Everyone thought their drinks were watered down and tasteless . Since the drinks weren't good and the worst possible service decided to take our money elsewhere. Worst restaurant in Bethany Beach. Eight of us went out for an adult night While the grandparents watched our children.When we walked in we should've realized something was up when the place was pretty much empty. We ordered our drinks.A few of us ordered beer and the rest ordered a few different kinds of beachy cocktails. When the drinks arrived and we all took our first sips we all agreed there was not any alcohol in them. We mentioned this to the waiter who appeared nervous that he had to go talk to somebody about our issue. He came back and said the bartender said since they are different types of fruity cocktails we should not be able to taste the alcohol but would bring us out shots to add to the drinks and charge us LOL. Our salads arrived with basically no dressing in them so we each had to order more dressing. Once the food came the food was cold and at this point there was no point in arguing. A few of the employees including the manager and assistant manager were sitting at a table near us eating there dinner. Plus we never received the delicious rolls that they are known for. The fish tacos (w/mahi mahi) was very good in the opinion of another member of our party. The service was very good being dinner time in June. We both shared the Margarita calamari which honestly tasted just like any other calamari dish at a restaurant. Didn't taste too fresh. I had the key west crab cake sandwich which was again, pretty normal. I found a hair in my side of fries as well which was a major turnoff. Went to Mangos for lunch and had decent service. Once the food came out the waiters were not very attentive. I got the taco salad bowl with shrimp added on. The shrimp was delicious, but the salad was not that good. We got the check and noticed that shrimp was an extra $9, and nowhere on the menu did I see that shrimp was an extra charge. Although the shrimp was good it only came with about 4 pieces, which is ridiculous for $9! It is a decent place to go just make sure to really check out the menu before ordering! read more

I love coming here with my family, have been for year and will continue for years more. Its right of the boardwalk and if you get a seat near the window you get a great view of the ocean and beach. The service is always good and the food is pretty solid. I love the nachos here as well. It is a huge pile and overall absolutely delicious. The drink choice is extensive here as well. We like this place and you are getting a knockout view of the ocean from above the boardwalk. Had a crab cake sandwich which was good and a Moscow mule to drink. We also had coco-loco shrimp appetizer which we were disappointed in- 4 shrimp and I thought they didn't have much taste. Our mango salad was a bit sparse on the mango and corn. Service was ok but it's a little oricey- again I think the view is part of it. Any place right on the boardwalk will cost more. read more

Excellent table prepared by excellent wait staff. Bottomless fun fruits sodas served in fish bowls and others in Tiki's and Parrots. Fun! Burger cooked exactly to order, delicious. This place is all about the views! They are world class. The food was good (we hat filet, crab cake, scallops) but not what I consider the best in town. Both dishes came out on the cold side. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. But I was with a party of eight, and we had six separate checks among us. This business will not split checks, and we were required to go through the receipt ourselves and list out certain items that were for each of us and describe the card that would be paying for those items. From the time the bill was first brought to us until the time we left the restaurant was 50 minutes. We asked the manager to come out to talk to us, and he raised his voice, telling us "It's always been this way," and would not give us a discount for having waited that long to pay. read more

Right on the beach...perfect time for a 'mangorita'. Definitely go @ happy hour for the specials and get the double mangorita with a floater for a great refreshing break from beachin' it. Only had the wings and the jerk was awesome, the buffalo wings were good too but the jerk was done right. It can get crowded, especially @ the bar if school is out but probably the only place worthy that's right on the beach in Bethany Beach. read more
