This is my new favorite restaurant in NYC. The food and views were incredible from start to finish. We came before sunset and enjoyed twilight and nighttime views of the sparkling city. We didn't come here for a special occasion, but this would definitely be a place for it. The service was amazing, too. The view is amazing. The service is outstanding. We did four courses, the first two of which were excellent, and the main and desert being largely misses. (In the case of the main, the meats--ribeye, lamb, lobster--were of really extraordinary quality, but the preparation detracted from each rather than contributing to it.) I visited Manhatta in FiDi for lunch on a Saturday and opted for a 3 course prix fixe menu. They offer both 2 course and 3 course lunch options. While dinner features a different menu and pricing as well. For my meal, I started with the smoked burrata, which was fresh and a great way to begin the meal.for my entree, I chose the spaghetti with zucchini, lobster and summer truffle. It wasn't that great. For dessert, I ordered the toasted rice millefeuille with rice cream and jam. This was absolutely delicious. I also had the chance to try my partner's dry aged burger and it was really good. The burger was so juicy and flavorful. If I had known how good it was going to be, I would've swapped my entree. Overall, the service was amazing and the food. The restaurant is located on the 60th floor of 28 Liberty Street and offers breathtaking views of Lower Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, Staten Island, and New York Harbor. Before our table was ready, we waited in the lounge area and enjoyed the incredible views. A thoughtful touch was the personalized birthday note waiting on our table when we arrived, which made the occasion feel extra special. The atmosphere was elegant but welcoming, and it was interesting to see that many other guests were also celebrating birthdays and special occasions there. We came for lunch and ordered the two-course lunch menu. To start, we had the "Beef Tartare" and "Fluke Crudo", followed by the "Grilled Sea Bass", "Dry-Aged Burger", and "Lobster Ravioli" for our mains. I was here earlier in the day for their Summer Restaurant Week, which is available daily for lunch for either $60 for 2 courses or $70 for 3. In comparison to their normal menu, this is decently priced, and it's nice that this place offers their lunch or weekends. Another nice difference here is that there was only one dish that was a supplement, being the beef tartare for $10 more. The staff was very friendly, with her being knowledgeable about the menu and giving good suggestions. You partially go here for the atmosphere, as it's on the 60th floor, and it was nice that the other side of the restaurant that is used for events was also open, so our group could see the views on both ends, including a nice view of the Statue of Liberty. The food in general was good with very nice presentations. To drink, I went with a complimentary sparkling water. They gave us some pretty good bread with decent butter to begin with. My appetizer of choice was the Fluke Crudo, with sungold kiwi, aji amarillo, and avocado. The crudo consisted of several thick pieces in a broth with a bit of avocado cream on top, while the kiwi was chopped. The fish was good quality, and the broth added a bit of sourness and sweetness. There was also a nice crunchy texture from some pearls, likely made from roasted rice or similar. This was overall refreshing and tasty. Another person got the same dish as me, and one other loved the Apulian Burrata, served with rose and lettuce kimchi, amaretto, and stone fruit. My main was the Dry Aged Burger, served on a seeded bun with koji onion, Cooper Sharp, and house-cut potato chips. The burger was juicy and cooked to a perfect medium rare and was very beefy. The sweet caramelized onions helped cut the richness of the meat while the cheddar added a touch of saltiness. There was also a shiitake-infused mayo, which added to the richness, though I couldn't taste the mushrooms much. The chips on the side were fine, though I would prefer fries, either frites or waffle style. It also came with a standard half pickle. Overall, it was a tasty burger, which highlighted the meat more than anything else, and as it was mostly about the beef, it reminded me the most of a burger from a handful of steakhouses or Rolo's. The majority of others enjoyed the Charcoal Grilled Sea Bass with corn, cilantro, and mussels escabeche, while one person ordered and enjoyed the Eliche Pasta with summer truffle, mushroom, and pecorino. In particular, the sea bass looked wonderful, and everyone loved this sauce. For dessert, I ordered the Lemon Verbena Semifreddo with fromage blanc and melon sherbet, which had an artful presentation like the crudo. The texture of the semifreddo felt a bit off, but I liked how citrusy it was, which was toned down by the melon sherbet. There were also small cubes of melon. It was tasty, but probably my least favorite of the three courses. For those who got dessert, the majority got and enjoyed the Chocolate Mousse with sobacha, malt, and corn silk ice cream. We overall had a good time here. It wasn't the best meal I've ever had, but it was certainly worth it for Restaurant Week. read more

This wasn't a meal, it was an experience. Sixty floors above Lower Manhattan, the room gives you every famous building you can name, Brooklyn stretching past the bridges, and -- on our night -- fireworks in the distance. The sommelier made the evening. Warm, vocal, genuinely deep in her knowledge, and every pour came with a reason, including a sparkling shiraz (my favorite grape) I never would have thought to order. The food held its own against the view, which is no small thing at that height. The fluke crudo was as beautiful as it was good, and everything after it kept pace. As I begin to pen this particular Yelp up for those who see my images and words, I have to admit that my experience didn't come from being an actual patron of the restaurant/bar but as someone on an assignment that found me working there for the night. Manhatta sits on the 60th Floor of 28 Liberty Street and when you walk into the place this is a very comfortable lounge to use should you be waiting for additional members of your party. Once upstairs the patrons can enjoy a panoramic view of the city and while it looks pretty cool during the day, in the evening this is simply magnificent and reminds you just how amazing NYC is. I only saw one section of the city based on where I was doing the work but it was so cool. Now the reason I decided to offer up some Yelping was based on the restaurant feeding the folks who were working. They served up a couple of different salads, a fish dish, a chicken dish and some potatoes. I had one of the salads, the chicken and the potatoes and since I am weird on fish dishes I left that for my co-workers. Needless to say this was some tasty stuff and my compliments to the chef. I was happy to be able to have seconds :) The facilities were great, super clean and spacious with private stalls that completely closed you in for extra privacy. While I don't mind the other types of them, these are very nice to experience every once in awhile. There was also a complimentary WiFi signal to use during the stay and that allows you to quickly share highlight moments with your friends or social media followers without using your own data resources. Based on the menu prices that I saw this is a pricy dining experience but its a classy one with good food and great views. I absolutely love Manhatta! It's charming, classy, romantic, and the food is delicious. Recently with the good weather in New York we've been getting into rooftop/high elevation dining experience. This restaurant lounge is situation on the 60th floor in the FiDi area. They start with a coat check on the first floor before welcoming you to the 60th floor. There is a bar area to sit at to wait for your table if it's not ready yet. They offer a lunch course menu, a bit more affordable compared to the dinner course menu. If you want to order a la carte, that's only from the bar area seating with is first come first serve. We got a reservation for lunch to do a celebration and they even wrote congratulations on the post card displayed on our table. While windows seatings are never guaranteed, when we came around 2pm on a weekend it wasn't completely packed and most groups were able to be seated near a window. From the 3 course menu food we ordered: - beef tartare - fluke crudo - sea bass with mussels - Berkshire pork neck - cheese plater - millefeuille Everything was delicious and tasted really fresh. I'm usually not a raw meat person but the beef tartare was prepared so well I couldn't resist! I love the rice crunch paired with the green sauce, it was irresistible. I don't know why but I was obsessed with the grilled okra in the Berkshire pork neck entree. Something about the combinations - the flavorful dry spice with the perfect smoky charcoal grilled complex - unforgettable. The 60th-floor skyline views here are breathtaking, especially if you catch the transition from sunset to city lights. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between sleek and welcoming. Food-wise, the lobster quenelle was rich and silky, and the wagyu was cooked to absolute perfection. The New York Sour from the bar was also top-tier. Taking off one star because despite having an advance reservation, we didn't end up with a window table, which was a little disappointing since the view is such a huge selling point. We came to Manhatta for Restaurant Week with high expectations, especially given the restaurant's reputation and the level of experience it clearly aims to provide. Unfortunately, while the food was exceptional, the service and overall hospitality left a lot to be desired. My wife made the reservation, and we arrived about 10 minutes early because I wanted to be respectful of the restaurant's time. This was our second time and we were excited since it rained the last time we were there and weren't able to see the beautiful views from the 60th floor venue. We were seated temporarily in a small booth across from the bar while waiting for our table. From the beginning, the experience felt a bit off. When I asked the hostess where the washroom was, she pointed down the hall and mumbled the directions without even looking at me. Not exactly the warmest welcome. What bothered me more was what happened while we waited. THREE different window-side two-tops became available, and each was given to couples who arrived after us. I understand that seating arrangements can depend on reservations and table assignments, so perhaps one or two of those parties had earlier reservations. But seeing three separate tables open up and repeatedly watching later arrivals get seated made us wonder why we were being passed over. We were eventually seated in a booth farthest corner of the restaurant, without the view that is arguably one of Manhatta's biggest draws, after watching several other couples who arrived after us get seated. The wait staff were friendly, but the service was painfully slow and forgetful. Our drink order (a signature cocktail and a glass of wine) which was ordered at the start arrived after we had already finished our first course. My wife's wine finally arrived just before our main course, while mine showed up another 5-10 minutes later. My water glass went more than 15 minutes without being refilled on multiple occasions. On two separate instances, we were asked whether we wanted bread, said yes, and then simply never received it. I realize that complaining about bread and water may sound petty, but that's really the point: at a restaurant that is clearly trying to deliver a Michelin-level dining experience, the details matter. Slow drinks, forgotten requests, empty water glasses, and an indifferent greeting add up. And the frustrating part is that the food was incredible. The beef tartare was outstanding , the fluke crudo was divine, the charcoal-grilled sea bass was delicious, and the burger was arguably one of the best I've ever had--even compared with the double Wagyu burger at 4 Charles. The kitchen absolutely delivered. Unfortunately, the service never came close to matching the quality of the food. The staff did eventually recognize that I was visibly unhappy and removed the drinks from our bill, which I appreciated. But by that point, the damage had been done. Manhatta has an incredible setting and a kitchen capable of producing truly memorable food. But for the prices and the level of experience the restaurant is clearly positioning itself to offer, the hospitality needs to be significantly better. This sky high FiDi restaurant on the 60th floor of the 28 Liberty St. tower was the perfect place to celebrate the semiquincentennial of US Independence Day with its commanding view of the Brooklyn Bridge and New York City skyline. On a rainy 4th of July, it was nice to be indoors while still enjoying a perfect view of the fireworks. The chicly decorated bar and dining room was decked out in red, white, and blue balloons, a cornhole tossing station, a skee-ball machine, a hotdog cart, a Photo Booth, and an open bar serving patriotic jello shots and themed cocktails. The staff was warm and cheerful, passing out hors d'oeuvres and desserts throughout the night. The buffet featured all American classics like chunky Buffalo chicken wings, tender porchetta, and delicious cheeseburgers fresh off the grill with koji onions and Cooper sharp cheese. The crowd was a mix of young and old and everyone was well dressed. I would definitely go back to celebrate a special occasion. read more

You enter downstairs and it starts with the great service immediately, as well as a free coat check. It's a quick and easy hotel ride up to the amazing views of the Manhattan skyline! Delicious drinks and a small menu that starts at 5pm. We got the garlic knot and it was ok - it took a bit and was different than I expected but still enjoyed it. The labneh with chili oil is what really made it. Honestly I wouldn't have even complained about the wait, but the bartender comped it for us on her own accord which was super nice. The sweet meats were good, but very busy. The scallops were pretty good. I would not say spectacular. I had the beef which was good. The squash was a little bit too much on the acidic side. I had one of the red wines which was lacking body, and the Manhatta I would definitely pass on. had this bitter taste, which was not pleasant. The lobster was pretty good. But much too busy a dish which overwhelmed the lobster. The chocolate mousse was OK not very chocolatey, but the lemon dessert was very good. There's nothing worse than a restaurant that wastes your time. After spending so long getting there only to receive terrible service, it honestly feels like they're trying to kill you. At least a bad meal ends--the time wasted never comes back. Do not go to this restaurant unless you like being ignored. I have had this place on my radar for years! I saw pictures of the view online. It seemed to have all of the best elements for an elevated (Literal & Figurative) restaurant. Unfortunately, it's sometimes hard to corral all of the members of the friend-group. Since I couldn't "assemble The Avengers." I reserved Manhatta for a solo visit. I was called in to the Manhattan HQ of my employer on a Tuesday. As the day was ending I was poking around my map of flags, looking for a rooftop. I figured I would skip rush hour, have dinner and then drive back after the "rat race" had cleared up. Manhatta popped up, with reservation space so I booked it, then booked it downtown from 34th St. I'm so glad I did! I went with the four course option. Surprisingly, the waiter said that some people feel like that's too much food. I thought the portions were perfect and I went all the way through to dessert. My choices were as follows, Hamachi Crudo, Spanish Octopus, and Sea Bass. My dessert choice was their signature Toasted Rice Millefeuille with Koshikari Rice Cream and hazelnut caramel. The courses all "hit" on every level (Taste, presentation, color, smell etc.) In between they also provided some extra small bites as well as pallet-cleansers. While I marveled at the view... and the food... I also had some wine (Sauvignon Blanc), but they also had this cocktail called "The Coconut Exchange" (If I recall correctly), and that bad boy stole the show for me! I would've ordered two but rush hour driving was looming. Cocktail lovers, try that first! Meanwhile, THE SERVICE, very very good. They were attentive but not obtrusive. Everyone seemed genuinely kind. When I say, "everyone," I mean Everyone, including hosts, Maitre'Ds, waiters, waitresses etc. I'm not sure why this place doesn't have a Michelin Star. My Manhatta experience rivaled that of other Michelin-rated restaurants I've been to around NYC, maybe even the world. Speaking of service, before I leave, I want to give a big shoutout to the curly-haired, blonde, petite waitress, Nina (?). We had a few short mini-conversations about the cocktails, the view and even her travels to South Korea. Her calm demeanor and kindness punctuated the service for me. Go ahead and promote her! If anyone asks why, tell them that one of the representatives of one of the biggest labor unions in the country said so, haha! Bottom Line: Make the trip to visit, but this place is so good, you might want to reserve it for a special celebration or anniversary. I'm genuinely a bit surprised this place doesn't have a Michelin star but wouldn't be surprised if they got one soon because everything-- from the service to ambiance to taste to presentation-- was definitely Michelin worthy. Starting with the service, you're greeted warmly from the moment you walk in. All the staff were so professional and friendly, and they give you an intro to every dish you order. Like, food was also really good and all but the service was a standout. Regarding food, lunch is a steal here-- $65/$78 prix fixe for 2/3 course meals at this caliber is absolutely worth it. The oysters we started out with were alright if not particularly noteworthy, but everything got better from there. I highly recommend the Berkshire pork neck, which was some of the most tender pork I've had in my life, plus I loved the accompanying okra (seasoned SO well) and sauces. Sea bass was also very good but the pork was better. For dessert, the millefeuille was beautifully presented and I enjoyed it but the coconut mousse was absolutely stellar (if you like chocolate, caramel, and coconut, this is the dessert for you); I really enjoyed the textural and temperature contrasts in this dish. Drinks are STRONG and the cocktails are so creative-- that pad Thai daiquiri? One of the most unique cocktails I've ever seen and done so well. But our favorite was the hot buttered rum which was so smooth and delicious, a must order. Theoretically this place has a fantastic view of Manhattan as well given it's on the 60th floor but it was super foggy when we went so all we could see was white outside lol. read more

Amazing view. Amazing food. Amazing service. This place is in the 60th floor near the financial district. You check in and coat check then head up on an elevator. The views are stunning and they have binoculars you can look to see around the city. The food for lunch is an amazing value. We opted for the three course prefix menu. This place has always been a favorite of mine, thanks to its stunning views and typically fantastic food--a rare gem in the city! I stopped by for lunch during Restaurant Week but opted for the regular menu, as I'm usually skeptical of special event menus. The service was decent, as expected, but I was disappointed to find the food quality wasn't up to par this time. The sea bass was slightly overcooked--not terrible, but definitely not the "wow" experience I've come to expect from dinner here. The wagyu had great seasoning but was surprisingly chewy. Also, our entrees took quite a while to arrive, likely because the kitchen was focused on the Restaurant Week menu. Had a nice, if too long, restaurant week lunch here, luckily with spectacular views to keep our eyes entertained. The space was airy and bright, thanks to the floor to ceiling windows. Food was good with a couple dishes that stood out. Both appetizers, burrata with blood orange and Hamachi crudo, were fine. The latter especially lacked the complexity I was expecting with mango and salsa macha as ingredients. The pasta we were also surprised by the lack of punch given that it was a garlic cream sauce. It mostly tasted of bottarga, understandable given what a strong flavor cured roe has. Luckily, the burger stole the show--perfectly cooked and with a delectable topping of cooked onions. We liked both desserts, with favorites split down the table. As someone who doesn't particularly like caramel or coconut, I was shocked that the coconut mousse with caramel and various chocolate forms was the clear winner for me. The smokey caramel was addictive and paired well with the bitterness of the cocoa nibs and the creamy coconut. Service was attentive, but slow to start and to wrap up, the latter likely a glitch because they brought our bill after we finished our second course and we waited around 40 minutes for dessert before we ultimately flagged a server down to ask about the third course and were told the system had marked our dessert as served and service as completed. They kindly gave us some sorbet scoops on the house to make up for the delay. If I had family or special guests visiting, I'd come back solely for the delicious burger and the impressive views. read more
