I have been coming here for years! In August/sept I noticed the bagels have changed. First it just seemed harder, not as fluffy- the outside of bagel noticeably different. Then the other day got my usual order-- onion & cinnamon raisen . It was 8:30-9am-- the bagels were cold & hard! I went to cut both-- and very few onions on the onion bagel, it was different outside/ like a definite change look. I cut them-- and they were not fluffy like they used to be. The cinnamon raisin only had ONE raisin inside when cut!! The onion barely any onion. So even if an owner changed hands-- WHY are the bagels now COLD & HARD at 7:30-8-9am???!!!! They used to be sooooo FRESH & HOT out of the own at that time! Soooo sad! They need to get their act together & get that recipe/or baking BACK to its original recipe ! read more

Im a foodie, I know good bagels. This Manhattan bagel had the best bagels around. a fluffy water boiled bagel. I've been going there for 7 years. Recently I was told they changed their oven so I gave them a pass, I'm a loyal customer. but the last dozen times the bagels have been hard and not the great bagels that I've always looked forward to every Sunday. I was told today that the owners changed. when I got my bagels today and tried to squish them and they were hard, I went back to the counter and asked for ones that weren't hard. HEADS UP!! Been going to this place for years but new owners just changed a bunch of stuff. The Everything bagel used to be the best but took off all the seasoning and changed recipe. Also coffee is noticeably different. Watered down and bitter. It's a shame because the women that works the front counter is such a nice person, and she's going to have to deal with the complaints when they start pouring in. Located in the Shop Rite Mall on Route 72 this is a fun, clean and spacious bagel shop with great bagels, wraps, coffee bar and whole grain bread (toasted of course). Fresh salads, sandwiches (tuna, chicken, breakfast, etc) and a nice selection of coffees. For something different I prefer the tostini country egg and cheese sandwich with peppers and taylor ham on toasted whole grain bread. Yum. Plus they have free wifi and a TV showing the news. Staff was disorganized, poor attitude l, they insist on rubbing in the fact that the breakfast sandwich comes with meat even when all you want is egg and cheese ( why complicate this people???). I had the worst service I've had in a long time there. I ordered a bagel sandwich on a thin bagel which was listed as "Turkey Thin" on the menu. The girl at the counter rudely replied "Deli turkey?" when I ordered it. Assuming that she had misunderstood me, I said, 'no, the turkey thin, please." She pointed out to me with disdain that the "turkey thin" is listed under the deli style sandwiches. When I called her out on giving me an attitude, she was taken aback and went to get the manager. Always great service ! We eat here almost every week. The owners in particular are very friendly, my wife only drinks earl grey tea and on one occasion they had run out the owner saw this and literally ran to shop rite to get tea and brought it back before she finished her bagel. We order bagels for our daughters birthday parties and school holiday days. Never had an issue with service or a bad product. I wish they could also make waffles and pancakes too but you can t have it all. Toilets are always clean and maintained and when you have small children thats a plus. read more
