Haven't been to Manhattan bagel in a while. Decided to order with my husband after our morning gym session. I like that we can order via app online! The order was prepped fast, looks like there is a good number of staff behind the counter to roll out orders quick on busy mornings. Our bagels were pretty good. Presentation could be a bit neater, but hey...we got our tasty food fast and the portions were good! I had egg & cheese bagel and my husband got lox on a bagel. He said it was very very delicious. This place is a lot like Einstein Bagels which is a fav of mine. I ordered the nova lox and it was decent at best, but $12.95 for a bagel that small is ridiculous in my opinion. Einstein bagels offers way better bagel sizes and better service in my opinion. I'd recommend trying different bagel shops in the city to get a better bang for your buck. This place is wild. I've been ordering an egg and cheese for 20 years from Manhattan bagel. Today I ordered an egg and cheese and when opening the bag, the egg was scrambled. I have never had a scrambled egg for this order from this place. I went back to ask why they did that and the worker said "sometimes it's scrambled and sometimes it's not". What? That is total gas lighting. He made a new one with no problem and eventually the other worker admitted it's supposed to be fried. I was told I had to specify that I want a fried egg. What they deserve is zero star.I went last week and took one dozen bagel, apparently they mix old bagels with couple that are new. Although I put the rest of the bagels in the refrigerator the next day it had already fungus on it. First, the food itself...This was the absolute worst breakfast I have ever had. I ordered the breakfast cheesesteak on a jalapeño bagel with Swiss cheese and no onions. Not only did I have onions but I had American cheese. Not what I ordered at all. The taste was horrible. I barely ate half before I decided to give up and throw it all away, even the half-cooked hash brown that I got (did not even try it because it was still partially frozen). Basically a waste. The bagel for me, had a little too much jalapeño (I like a hint of it not too much) but overall the sandwich was really good. The flavor was there and it wasn't too hard to bite into. I would def try this again. My friend got the Santa Fe Egg White which is: Asiago bagel with grilled egg whites, turkey sausage, cheddar cheese, roasted tomato salsa, and jalapeño salsa cream cheese. It was just ok. The staff was not friendly perhaps since they are so busy they go into robotic mode but a "Hello" would be nice. This small location was on a busy corner so street parking is the only option although I'm sure most people stop in on foot in this busy Center City location. A few window counter seats. The bagel didn't taste as fresh as other locations (ex Clifton Heights). I doubt I'll be back. Made my sandwich a lil too salty, so next time, I'll be ordering it on a plain bagel. I also ordered a small coffee. I made myself a vanilla nut coffee with some cream and sugar. Went in on Saturday, August 27 while visiting the city. Had never been there before and went because it was the closest bagel place when I checked my phone. I got a bagel and lox. It was prepared as asked with a small amount of cream cheese. The order taker wasn't stressed because of my request. The gentleman at the register was nice and it took no time for my order to be completed. The business was very busy, the store was clean and the employees were polite. I'm easily impressed when it comes to most carb based things. However, when it comes to bagels I am nit picky. Does it taste good toasted? Untoasted? With toppings? Without toppings? Manhattan Bagel checks all those boxes. The only box not checked was the one on my wallet. These bagels cost a pretty penny, but are worth it for a weekend treat. I've had honey whole wheat with honey almond cream cheese and it was delightful. NOTE: they sometimes get the ratio of cream cheese to bagel wrong so be warned! Staff is SUPER friendly, the bagels are awesome (especially the super cinnamon and the cinnamon raisin). Prices are fair and there's always enough coffee. The hotel I was staying at wasn't too far from here. Don't let the name fool you. Their bagels DO NOT taste, look, feel like bagels from Manhattan. Their prices do. Had a bagel with scallion cc since they don't have olive cc. Smaller bagel which was palatable. Had the next day a "pork roll" & cheese on a everything. The Taylor Ham, yes Taylor ham her in Jersey, not pork roll, tasted off. Didn't have the same flavor as what we serve here. Anyway, their coffee was good. Surprisingly.
