For a chain, bagels here are decent. They have many different flavors like jalapeno and cheddar which I like. There's plenty of space to parking in the parking lot. I've been coming here on weekends on my temporary weekend shift. I took stars away because of the high price, For a bagel and veggie cream cheese is $3.09. Also, one of the employees maybe the manager is very persistent and I think is very rude. The way he communicates, angers me. If I don't want a bag please don't grab my food and stuff it in a bag after I tell you I don't want to waste the bag. I'm sure he has a system where he only knows that food is paid for when people have their items in a manhattan bagel bag. Another thing got to me when he asked me if I wanted help and I replied that I already order and waiting for my bagel but didn't pay for it. He lectures me that his line is the order only line and insists that next time I go to the pay line and wait there. And when I'm trying to ignore him because he already got his point across when I'm paying for my bagel points to the 'order here' sign and continues with his lecture. I wanted to reach over counter and punch him because there shouldn't be to lecture about which line to go to. I love this place! We started going for breakfast in the summer and now I find myself stopping in when I pass by for a great cup of coffee. Try the classic egg breakfast sandwich. What I do like is that I get to make my own coffee, or cold drink. Small place, but decent tables to sit at to enjoy a meal or quick snack and read the paper or tinker with your laptop. I'm usually not the bagel buyer in this household, but we went to the gym together, so we hit up Manhattan Bagel afterwards, for a dozen to take home! I have been here previously, I like the bagels, they always have an interesting variety. The bagels are of a good size but not super huge and over risen like other bagel spots. Bagels are fresh, and still warm! They have a nice pull on the outside and soft on the inside, just what you expect from a NY/NJ bagel. $9.99 for a dozen (they don't do a bakers dozen here) They re heat really well and are perfect for a bagel fix during the week! They are blaming the error on the website they use ( ez cater ) but they are the establishment that fulfilled the order . Literally always get the same thing and it's literally been burned every time. That thing would be a toasted everything bagel. Burnt toppings on an everything bagel kinda ruins it. It's also very tiny and chaotic inside during busy hours, very confusing to create or maintain a line or any organization to ordering. I chose to use the westfield location for all my catering needs because when I called this location I was turned off by what I perceived to be a lack of professionalism and organization (which I have already experienced). I have to go 5. I know it's a chain but I am always craving this place. Used to frequent here a lot more when my husband and I lived closer. Now, we only come about 2x a month. I started ordering egg whites, cheese, ketchup on a toasted multigrain bagel when I started coming here. I think they may add butter to the bagel before completing the sandwich and although it's unnecessary, it's so delicious!! The multigrain bagel always tastes so sweet mixed with the savory eggs and cheese. I now moved to egg whites cheese on a whole wheat wrap. Love it!! Always ooZing with cheese. How they make the wrap so warm and not flaky is amazing. Very respectable. I'll often order a breakfast wrap at other bagel places and they never manage to keep the wrap from crumbling. Hate that! Pleasantly suprised with their customer service. I ordered breakfast for my coworkers and I for pick up and our order came wrong. Wrong type of bagel, eggs and no salt pepper ketchup. Called to let them know we were displeased and they stated we could have breakfast tomorrow for free, anything of our choice. My rating is generous. I've been here a handful of times to buy breakfast sandwiches and/or frappes. On weekend mornings, they are very busy.... easily 5-10 ppl on line to place orders and/or pay at the same time. It is also very unorganized with people skipping the lines. Arrive early if you want to eat-in (limited seating). Their sandwiches, bagels and coffee are really good. Their frappes aren't as good as they used to be. I was there about a month ago and asked for a caramel frappe and the guy who took my order had to ask another guy behind the counter to get him the caramel sauce from the coffee station so that he can make my drink. The bagels were chewy (not in the yummy old school bagel kind of way, but the over-processed dough that has no love from a human crafting hand kind of way). The lox was thick and flavorless with bones and thick hard pieces of skin that randomly assault your teeth. No capers or wedge of lemon in sight. Let us for a moment assume that this NYC staple is not their strength. Operate on the premise that, perhaps my quest for this authentically NYC treat in NJ was a fools errand, given that allowance, this establishment was still a major disappointment. The chicken salad my husband ordered was dry and old tasting. The pickles were half frozen. The "smoothie" was really just minutemaid syrup poured over chucks of ice. Don't get me wrong, these bagels are absolutely amazing. However this bagel restaurant is VERY expensive. Just last week we ordered 2 Bacon, Egg and cheese sandwhiches and 3 bagels, 1 Orange Juice and 1 Vitamin Water. It cost us 20$. Lets talk about the cost. Out of 10 times I have been to this place. 9/10 of my orders have been wrong. Also be aware that I have TEXTED my order into this place about 6 of the 10 times. The incompetence of the staff is probably why my order costed me 20$. They have to make up for profit loss because 9/10 orders are thrown away and replaced. All of their order incompetence aside. This place is amazing, great food and a great variety. Seriously though, please replace the staff with people who can get a texted order correct. read more

One of the best bagel spots I've been to - consistency is KEY here. This establishment has been on-par with the best bagel places I've been to, and every time they make what you ask, it's spot-on. Been a long-time resident of Union (my hometown), and I've been coming to this Manhattan Bagel for years. I haven't had a bad experience yet. My only issue is sometimes, they'll forget ketchup on your bagel if you ask for it. Other than that, they're terrific. Eggs always cooked well, cheese is the PERFECT consistency, and their bagels are always the right size and texture. I've yet to have a bad bagel here. Yes, it gets very (sometimes annoyingly) crowded on weekend mornings, but that speaks volumes about the quality. If I ever enter a diner and restaurant during what should be peak hours, and it's not crowded, I head for the nearest exit. The food here is top notch, service is friendly and since its within walking distance of my home, I'm glad that this Manhattan Bagel is nearby and in the interest of doing business with my neighbors I try to frequent this establishment as often as possible.
