The sweet lady behind the counter was so patient with me as I was looking and second guessing my choices. With the mixed variety you get 3 classic, 2 specialty and 1 extra fancy donut. I snagged a round glazed, a chocolate and maple bar, 2 apple fritters and a fancy donut with cream and strawberries on top. I was planning on giving 3 of the goodies to my in laws. I asked the sweet lady for an extra box and with no hesitation she grabbed it got me. I was able to get my goodies sorted. I dropped off the maple bar, an apple fritter and the cream and strawberry donut to my in laws. My father in law loves apple fritters and didn't hesitate to grab it from the box and claim it right away. 0 He enjoyed half of it and is saving the other half for later. Nothing but great things were said about his treat. I forgot to mention earlier that the sweet lady gave me two donut holes in my box. I snacked on those and mannnnn were they good! They were so soft and sweet. I just wanted a little something so it was perfect! My husband devoured his apple fritter. I didn't even get a bite! I'm happy he enjoyed it! I was recently at Krispy Kreme and honestly the donut I got tasted stale. Like it had been sitting out for more than a day. I only had 2 small donut holes and they blew Krispy Kreme out of the water, it was night and day. I'm happy I got to stop in today and grab some goodies. The donuts were amazing! I give major props to that little glazed croissant- it was delicious but I also appreciate that it wasn't huge. I felt satisfied but not sickly full afterward. I tried the buttermilk later in the day and it wasn't okay, the frosted donut for a similar review from my daughter- like, solid food donuts but nothing we couldn't find at the local grocery store bakery. Then I'd get all depressed because my bikini wouldn't fit right :( So when I asked about the doughnuts she said they haven't been making them and I think she said it was because of staffing issues. Thanks to the virus and people now refusing to work because the government is giving them too much in unemployment, this is the case with way too many restaurants, bakeries, etc. That's my subtle jab at the current government and what they're doing to the country lol! So I left without doughnuts BUUUUT I did buy a bag of cookies. The same bag I could have bought at WinCo or Whole Foods. I'm also sure with selling to those two major grocery stores plus selling them in your bakery that you can absolutely afford to use better ties, ones that we can actually open and reuse vs these where you can't just open them, you have to cut the top of the bag and then basically...the bag is useless after that. I know this sounds petty, but ugh they're they worst! Aside from that, this place is super nice. It's in a very weird location tho, I was surprised by that. It's like the only sit down place on this street. Across from them is a warehouse of some sort, half a block up are homes, it's just seems like it would be better on the north end, or NW Boise, basically anywhere other than where it is lol. The staff is super sweet, the ones that were there lol. I'll definitely be going back. Glad my first experience there was a decent one even if they didn't have doughnuts for my heffa ass hahahaha! However, for a dollar more you can get a deluxe with deluxe toppings like sprinkles, marshmallows and the like. Also ended up ordering a BIG Donut (Salted caramel Biscoff) for $4 and ended up eating part of it. Donuts are not made in house (I don't think. Or least didn't taste like it). The ice cream was MID, as the kids would say, great on a hot summer day (98 deg outside) but nothing spectacular. Service was decent, quick, but definitely can tell the person was bored. Went inside and discovered they were out of them. The same happened the first time as well. Too bad Sweet Sensations is no longer there. We wont be back.
