The portions were on the smaller side but given it was lunch I didn't really mind. I was more let down by the lack of flavor in their grilled cheese, the spicy kraut was neither spicy and just didn't really add much aside from texture. The chili on the other hand was delicious so that partially redeemed the meal for me. My boyfriend got their bone broth which was very very light and needed additional seasoning though. While I love what they're trying to build here, I'm not sure if I'd go back.

They had all kinds of hot meals, skewers, and snacks that you could box up yourself and pay for by the pound. They also had separate sections for onigiri, sashimi, and sushi. I got there a little too early, so I missed out on the onigiri, but the sashimi was incredibly fresh and just melted in my mouth. I also picked up some mochi, and it was sooooo good. This probably makes up for their lack of food court. They also carry unique seasonal goods that Mitsuwa doesnt and vice versa. Mitsuwa has food courts and temporary traveling specialist vendors which are always exciting. Mitsuwa probably has a wider selection of more specialized goods tho. That said both chains are a great service to our area and will satisfy any Japanese food enthusiast like myself.

I was in awe with an employee who came out and spoke to the people reassuring them not to worry because there's a lot of bags enough for everybody. I'm not sure if he's the manager. Upon entering the store, staff was greeting us and thanking us for being patient in waiting. The customers were asked to pick 2 bags for each color , which I thought was more systematic so people are in and out of the store quickly ,instead of the staff handing the bags to the customers which will take longer. For some reason, I always felt welcomed at this store. The place is clean and they have all the things I wanted.
