asada enchilada plate
KJ E.

As I hadn't eaten all day, I was honestly starved and ready for some comfort Mexican food. This was close by, and thank the Lord bb Jesus for that! I have to say I made an excellent choice with the asada enchilada plate with rice and beans with a small horchata. Ate in. I devoured everything. Tasted good. Red sauce. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Spanish music playing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Vibrant colors inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What else could you ask for? I'll be back for another craving!

Asada burrito......just as good as when Manny made them back in the 80s.

Been going to Manny's since the 80's when the late Manny still ran the place. Decided to stop in yesterday and pleased to report that the burritos are as good as they ever were, and gigantic! Definitely a bit on the pricey side for a burrito, but keep in mind it is pretty much 2 meals with how big it is.

The carnitas wet burrito for the WIN!! Service was fast and friendly. I'm definitely coming back!

Tacos de asada

They have really good hard shell tacos with your choices of meat. My goto are the carnitas, or chicken which is lightly marinated in salas. It's the same chicken they use for there quesadillas too which are delicious! There street tacos de Asada & burritos are good too, and there bean & cheese burritos never disappoint! Of course all this good food couldn't be done without their outstanding service! If you eat here you'll enjoy the Spanish music they play on the TV, or at times they'll have a soccer game on.

Enchiladas with chicken and al pastor!

10 out of 10 would recommend to everyone I know. I haven't had such flavorful proteins in such a long time. I had to take a second and take a photo because I could not miss the opportunity to share how good it was! My family was very happy! Picky 4 year old loved it and even was willing to try food off my plate! What a score!

Amazing. Authentic! Affordable! Delicious! Wholeheartedly recommend Mannys for some of the BEST Mexican food this side of Ensenada. When I have contractors over, lunch choice is one of 3 and they ALWAYS choose Mannys. Best salsa too!

Love the Menudo here but last time was not so great. It was extra spicy and not very edible. Had to water it down immensely.

Great!! Great food. Great Margaritas…read more. Great people!! I specifically love their soup.

And in a way, that's exactly what El Sancho Cantina is: an escape. A secret. A little taste of something else. Whether you slide in for lunch, happy hour, or dinner, El Sancho is where you come to cheat on your routine. Tucked into Thousand Oaks, it's a getaway hidden in plain sight. Sit at the bar, let the cool breeze drift through, and allow the Spanish ballads to work their magic. For a moment, you'll forget where you are--and believe you've wandered into a dreamy cantina somewhere deep in Mexico. Start with the "El Viejo"--their riff on an Old Fashioned. Let the applewood smoke swirl above the glass as you lean in. The aroma hits first, then the deep flavors of añejo tequila and Mexican whiskey settle in with smooth confidence. Sip slow. This isn't a race--it's a seduction. If you're looking for something a little lighter--a healthy balance between indulgence and intention--try the two taco plate with the green salad substitution. I went for one Potato taco, one Shredded Chicken taco, and swapped out the rice and beans for a salad of mixed greens and cucumber, dressed with balsamic vinaigrette and a squeeze of fresh lime. The flavors were bright, clean, and satisfying. I walked away full--but not heavy. If I was meeting my Sancha after, I could've easily gone for a stroll. Maybe even dessert. But don't let me lead you down the wrong path--the tacos and cocktails are already all the temptation you need. And if that post-lunch lull starts to creep in, fight back with the "El Cafecito"--a soulful wake-up call of Licor 43, Kahlúa, cold brew coffee, and chocolate bitters. My personal pick over an espresso martini--bold, smooth, and unapologetically delicious. So yes, you might be cheating on SoCal for an hour with Mexico vibes, but El Sancho doesn't judge. In fact, it invites you back--with open arms, a strong pour, and just the right amount of trouble.

I'm so glad I came back--it reminded me why this has been one of my favorite local restaurants for years. From the moment we walked in, Sammy took great care of us. We wanted to sit at the bar, and she made sure we got seats right away. Throughout our visit, she was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Service like that makes a great meal even better. The tacos were absolutely outstanding--fresh, flavorful, and every bit as good as I remembered. And the margaritas? Still some of the best around. It's hard to beat great tacos, an excellent margarita, and top-notch service all in one place. Sometimes you forget just how good a restaurant is until you go back, and that's exactly what happened to me. Los Agaves hasn't missed a beat. Great food, great drinks, and outstanding people. I

Service... if you like no follow through and people who can't look at you while speaking to you, maybe it's for you. None of the soda fountain was working, they knew about it, and multiple people said they'd bring me the soda I paid for, and it never happened. Back to the counter to get a refund. You'd think if they knew sodas weren't streaming they'd either stop letting people purchase or refund proactively. They don't. Bizarre concept, will never be back. Plenty of Mexican places with great service and food.

Came to this little place easily lost in the corner of a strip mall…read more Sat at the bar and had the wings, crunchy tacos, and the tortilla soup. Everything was good except the tortilla soup which sucked. Bartender was attentive and the prices here are reasonable given where inflation is. This was our second visit and it was the second time we didn't receive our happy hour discount on…read moreour bill (there is suppose to be a $2.00 price break off of any cocktails and we ordered Cadillac Margaritas). We ordered and were disappointed that the seafood cocktail did not taste fresh and my husband returned the dish to the kitchen. Our server apologized profise and staff was very accommodating. we still left a 20% gratuity, as it was not the wait staff person's fault. Another issue we experienced was the bar had a private party, which was fine, however the noise level from the mariachi band was way too loud and none of the patrons could enjoy their own table conversations. If yo're going to shut down the bar on a Saturda, please take into consideration all other patrons in the main dining room. I am open to going again for drinks and appetizers at the bar, however, I should not have to tell the wait staff to charge us accordingly what the menu offers.
