Went over to the bar to order a meal to go, and a glass of wine while I waited. There were a couple of men talking in the bar, that was obvious they'd been there for a couple of hours, because if they thought they were whispering I got news for them!! The bartender, Jackie was very nice, and serviceable. It seemed she knew the loud guys there, and she was venting to them instead of the other way around. Didn't bother me, just seems to me people used to go to a place like this to chat with bartenders for free therapy, and it didn't seem like that to me. Anyway, another patron apparently got upset because service was slow and his waitress was no where to be found, so he left through the fire exit. Not sure if he did that on purpose or an accident, but 10-15 minutes of a fire alarm sure has a way of getting to you. Needless to say, the loud patrons at the bar might have well turned into cheerleaders in the super bowl. I think sitting at the bar isn't the way to go if it's your first visit. When I walked into the restaurant I was pleasantly surprised with a refrigerated glass case displaying different cuts of meat. Plus the decor was really quite charming. There's a big statue of a horse and someone riding it, which was very unexpected, but welcoming. Because I was sitting at the bar, I think my initial opinion of the restaurant changed. I felt the staff was very unprofessional, all gathering chatting, complaining, venting, gossiping about management, other patrons, etc within earshot of the bar. The food was really good, and Jackie made sure all was well with the order. The side salad, should be a dish on its own. It was huge. I had a grilled salmon and rice and beans. The salmon was okay. It was frozen, and I don't think it had thawed out prior to putting it on the grill. The rice and beans were good, a bit salty, which I don't mind but if you're not a salt lover like me, you may wanna steer clear from. The bread was super yummy and had a cinnamon type butter that was almost like dessert. The salad had a ranch and garlic dressing that was delicious. Since I'm not from the area, I won't be going back, but if I were I'd give it another shot, I'd see if sitting at a table does magic. read more

The best steakhouse in Florida. This is hands down my favorite restaurant no contest. It has a great mix of different foods. It is tough to beat there prime rib or steak but the ribs and fajitas are awesome as well. The rolls and cinnamon butter are out od this world. First of all the hostess told me 10 minutes and it was actually a 20 minute wait that was disappointing on a school night. When I mentioned that we were anxious about time due to a school night, she told me - ya my kids have school tomorrow too. Like really? Did I sign up to close up tonight with you? No just seat my party timely please. Our server Ashley was prompt with drinks and food, the salad and bread was really tasty and we enjoyed those along with the shrimp cocktail. But let me tell you that I've never been to a steakhouse and received such lackluster flavor in a steak in my life especially for a place that calls itself a chophouse. The steak was actually cooked to the perfect temperature, but it was lacking with salt, pepper, garlic...hell any flavor! when I told the server that our steak needed some flavor her recommendation was to take the perfectly cooked temperature steak and put it back on the hot pan with some seasoning to help it. She brought back an overcooked steak with some seasoning on it. It was inedible along with the bland mushrooms and the onions that came along with it. Also, the stuffed shrimp were lacking flavor, I ended up taking the steak home to feed to my dogs. Ashley told us she doesn't order the steak there except with extra seasoning. It seems like everything would've been great if someone would just learn to use the seasoning in that kitchen. To make up for the mistakes of the kitchen she offered us a free dessert I thought why not we'll go ahead and try out the dessert at least and we can end this meal on a good note. so we asked for the brownie overdose dessert and we were so full we wanted to eat it at home. Well we came home and we're amazed to find just four scoops of ice cream in the to go box and no brownie feeling disappointed and lied to. I tried the Keylime pie that we ordered. It tasted like it came from Costco. So very disappointed. If I ever want salad and rolls and soup, maybe I might try this place again but for steak.....definitely not, I really don't get the hype at all. During the last few months, we've been trying to prioritize ordering delivery and/or curbside pickup from local restaurants to try to help our local economy while minimizing our possible exposure to unsafe conditions as we live in an area where people are (for the most part) not social distancing or wearing masks. Overall, we've had good experiences. When my fiance wanted a steak for dinner, we were excited to see on their website that Manny's was offering curbside pickup at two of their locations, including the one near us as they don't normally even offer takeout, but we'd much rather support them than a large chain, which there are many of in town. Unfortunately, we had a very negative experience this evening, and I wanted to make sure that people were aware of a restaurant to avoid if you are trying to make smart decisions right now. When we called to place our order, my fiance specifically stated that we wanted to do curbside pickup; no mention was made of this not being an option. We were given a time to arrive and our total. Once we arrived at the restaurant, there was no signage indicating curbside pickup, so we parked near the doors and called the restaurant. When he asked where we should park for our curbside pickup order, he was told that we could park anywhere because we had to come inside and pick up the food ourselves. My fiance mentioned that the website states 'curbside pickup' specifically, but was just told to come inside. Luckily we had a mask in the car for him to wear, so he went inside to get the food. Inside of the restaurant, no on was observing any social distancing - he said the bar was packed, and no diners waiting for tables we wearing masks. The staff was wearing masks, but for the most part they were wearing them incorrectly, with their noses exposed. After asking for a manager, he was approached by someone without a nametag, who did not introduce herself or have any indication of actually being a supervisor; when he explained what the issue was, she just said "we don't offer curbside pickup." He asked why the website would show that the Winter Haven location is specifically listed as offering curbside pickup, and she again just said "we don't offer it; we don't even normally offer takeout." He asked why the person we spoke to on the phone when placing our order didn't explain this, he did not get a clear answer. The manager eventually said "well, if you let us know it was a problem we could have brought it out to you." When he explained that we did ask for it when we arrived and were told that we had to come inside, the manager's response was just "oh." As this manager was obviously not going to be of any help, he paid for the food and we left (no point in wasting our order when he was already inside of the building). We're not sure where the miscommunication here is, but somewhere on the chain of command, someone decided that even though they said that this location is specifically offering curbside pickup, they just don't want to do it - my guess is that a majority of their patrons don't care about it because we live somewhere where people want to go out and don't care about social distancing (as evidenced by house busy the bar & restaurant were on a Tuesday at 6pm despite a drastic spike in covid numbers). After we ate, my fiance reached out via facebook to the location, and someone did respond politely and quickly, but we are still waiting for the promised phone call to discuss our experience. Overall, the food is good quality but this experience was very frustrating. We both work in hospitality and understand how crazy it is out there for businesses right now, but don't state that you offer a service and then not offer it; if the person we first spoke to when ordering had simply said "sorry, the website is incorrect, but we are offering takeout," we could have saved ourselves time and frustration. The next time we want steak, we'll be choosing a chain restaurant in town that actually offers curbside pickup. read more

If you want a pleasant dining experience with friendly staff that serves food quickly...go elsewhere. My family and I dined at Manny's today and were shocked at the customer service and professionalism (or lack thereof) by nearly everyone we encountered at this establishment. To start, the kitchen lost our ticket, so our food took well over an hour to be brought out. Once it was finally brought out you could tell it had been sitting under plate warmers for some time (the waiters made sure to let everyone know the plates were scorching hot, which they were). The "manager" Bridgette came over after we finished and we addressed our concerns with her. However, her response was essentially "oh well, it's Mother's Day we're busy...so are you ready to pay?" Yes... it was busy, but we watched as other larger parties were seated, brought their food, and leaving by the time our cold food was brought out. When we asked Bridgette why the waiter told us the kitchen lost the ticket, but now she's telling us the reason our food took almost 90 minutes was because it's busy, she just gave us a puzzled look and walked away. Bridgette then brought out Andrea, another so-called manager, who said "yes, the kitchen lost your ticket but only for 5 minutes, and I know because I helped plate it...so are y'all ready to pay?" At this point my father and I are absolutely dumbfounded by the level of incompetence and unprofessionalism displayed by the two supposed managers Bridgette and Andrea; and just decided to pay and leave. We ate at Manny's Winter Haven last night. I gave them our club number to get our points, but never got a text to do a survey. I had a small complaint that I wanted to talk to the manager about. The bartender, Jennifer, said that the manager was too busy to bother with such an insignificant thing. I don't think that MY PROBLEM was insignificant. She hurt my feelings. I will not be back for a LONG time. Jennifer should get her head out of her sand box! If she treated all her customers the way she treats the regulars, you would have no business at all! This place was jumping on a Friday night in Winter Haven. This was only my second visit to this adorable town and this place was unexpected. Think Texas Roadhouse style (with the case of steaks to choose from) in a fun atmosphere where the servers call you hun and write all over the paper table covering. BIG FUN....HOLLA!!! I ordered the filet and shrimp. You get 2 sides with your meal too and I opted for a salad and loaded baked potato. Look...the salad alone was worth a mention. It was also endless...a chapter from Olive Garden but SO MUCH MORE FLAVORFUL!!! They have a garlic ranch dressing that is to die for and thet toss it up right in front of you. The salad had cheese eggs, cabbage, tomatoes, onions and, of course, lettuce. Pepperoncinis are added to those who like them. They leave the mixing bowl of salad on the table for you to grab seconds or thirds or.... The filet was seasoned and cooked to perfection. You can select how you want your shrimp so I opted for the crabmeat stuffing. It was all meat, no filler....delicious! The potato was large and the bacon was smokey including the fixins a loaded potato should. Yummy!!! The bread rolls were buttery, warm and included cinnamon butter. Gosh, can it get any better. We came to Manny's for the bogo fajitas and the happy hour specials. We added the endless salad to our meal as well. Manny's has a great opportunity to be a fun tourist destination. I liked the decor and the menu is big. I agree with other reviews about so so food. The salad was pretty tasteless and the fajitas ok. The best part was it was like paying for 1 person to eat and have drinks, so can't be mad at that. I'd try them again but maybe for something other than fajitas. Everything was delicious and our server Kimberly M. was the sweetest and exceptionally attentive and informative, she frequently checked on us and also made sure our children were content. The environment is very welcoming and warm with diner-type of feel. The price range is a little on the high but it's worth it for the quality. They give complimentary warm bread with cinnamon butter. The salad is brought out in a large bowl which is tossed and served to you. We ordered the boneless wings for appetizer which were so crispy and the sauces were so good. For our entrees we ordered the t-bone which was cooked to perfection and the coconut shrimp paired with a sweet sauce was great. The server also let us know that kids get free ice cream, which is always a plus. Horrible! That would pretty much sum up the whole experience. Horrible wait time, horrible food quality, horrible service and they just raised their menu items pricing . Went here to celebrate our son's birthday, that quickly turned into a sad occasion. We have been to Manny's many times over the years and it just keeps getting worse each time! This will be our last! They got our order wrong after we finally waited almost an hour to get seated ( if your lucky enough to get a seat in the waiting area) and felt like we were inside a smoky casino outside. Why would you allow smoking anywhere on your property at a family restaurant? Once seated we waited 10 minutes for our waiter " Bubba" to finally take our drink order, then another 10 minutes to get our drinks. Then another 8-10 minutes for our rolls and then 10 minutes to come take our order. Once he had our order it took another 10 minutes to get our salad. Once our food came the fun really started! My wife ordered the stuffed shrimp dinner with mashed side. A girl came out and severed just the shrimp ( cold BTW). When my wife asked about the side, she was told it came separately with the mashed. You guessed it, 10 minutes later they brought out the side( with a free side of attitude). The fries that most of our other party ordered where practically raw along with the half cooked cold onion rings. Speaking of raw, my prime rib that I ordered medium rare may as well have had horns and could have been still mooing. I barley ate it because I had to bring it home to cook it myself. Not one time did any of the staff or servers say sorry! We could see that others in the area we're having the same horrible experience. We tried calling ahead, and got a lot of attitude with the hostesses. I wish I had gotten the opportunity to review the food here. The location on 192 used serve really good food. Arriving on a busy Friday night my husband and I knew we were in for a wait. We had stopped by the Haines City location and there was over an hour wait. We figured what was another 8 miles away to go get some good food. Well, I wouldn't know now. After being told the wait was 20 to 25 minutes, we sat right outside the door for out buzzer to go off. After the outside and inside groups got sat, I watched 3 other groups that came in after us get sat. I went to the host stand and inquired how much longer and why were there groups that came in after us got seated. I was told in a smug manner that our pager was buzzed and when no one came up, they moved to the next party. Well, that's about where I lost my cool. While we were waiting ... right outside the door ... one of the workers (of which there were about 6 just hanging around the host stand) came out calling for "Jessica" to be seated. Needless to say, we stormed out and went elsewhere to eat. If you look at my recent review of the location on 192, you'll see it must have taken a lot for me to want to try going to Manny's again. This chain had demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge of what good customer service is at more than one location on more than one occasion. Even after leaving multiple bad reviews, I have never been contacted for questions or attempts at reconciliation. It bewilders me as to how this place has such good ratings. I will NEVER attempt to dine at a Manny's Chop House again, and I will actively tell people to beware. read more

My wife and I have driven passed and on my suggestion we went in. We won't be making that mistake again. While we waited we got to smell burning popcorn. As we had not eaten we ordered the loaded fries and chicken fajitas (fries to share). Our server (Kayla) brought the fajita wraps out with the fries. My wife asked if the wraps could be brought out with the entree so they would arrive warm and our server said 'that's how they are supposed to do it". The server was very confrontational and made it clear she was not happy. The stater came out and appeared to have lots of cheese and bacon over (as you would expect and quite honestly no flavor at all. The fajitas came out and again no spice(at all), no flavor(at all), bland as hell, the tomato and lettuce had more flavor. My wife and I will not make the same mistake again. What we found, was an epic dining experience. It wasn't long before we realized that we no longer cared about our 1-4 record in the tournament. We pulled into the parking lot around 4:40 and noticed that the restaurant did not open until 5:00. As we hung out for 20 minutes, we noticed quite the crowd building up behind us. Manny's is the pride of Polk County. Manny's is so good that people are willing to venture into the depths of Polk County to eat here. Haines City is the original Manny's and it grew so popular there are now locations in Winter Haven, Lake Wales, Lakeland, and most recently 192. This week I ate at the Winter Haven location and I am here to tell you that the quality is just as spectacular as it is at the original location in Haines City. 99% of the time I order a Manny's sirloin, which is to this day the best sirloin I've ever eaten. I'm usually a New York Strip or Filet Mignon kind of girl, but the quality of Manny's Sirloin is so good I don't feel the need to order anything else. All of Manny's steaks are served with your choice of potato. The fries are great, but I rarely get them because I ALWAYS have leftovers and fries are bad leftovers. My potato of choice is garlic smashed potatoes with white gravy. Yum! All of Manny's steaks are also served with a salad that is served family style and served to the whole table. Now, when Manny's first opened I was forced to bring my own dressing and order an individual salad because Manny's salad comes with ranch and I loathe, detest, and abhor ranch! However, they now will substitute a Caesar salad instead. Yay! They also have the most amazing yeast rolls with cinnamon butter. I am drooling just typing about them. They also have appetizers and desserts, but it is so much food I've never gotten them. If you don't like steak (what?!) they do have chicken, shrimp, etc. From 4pm-6pm they have Early Bird dining and Manny's Sirloin with all the above accompaniments is under $10! After 6 I think it is about $12. They don't do early bird on weekends, or holidays. We ate here on NYE and it was considered a holiday so no early bird. This place is packed so call ahead and put your name on the list 45 to 90 min before you go. We got here at 4pm on NYE when they opened and were seated right away. When we left about 5:20 the place was packed and lined out the door. They do not take reservations. Also, be prepared for extra crowds during snow bird season (Oct-Apr). Ordered the chopped steak medium rare, it arrived with the correct label but was over cooked and dry. The French fries were cold. The only positive I have was the wait staff, attentive yet super busy. Kicking myself for not returning the lousy meal but did not want to spoil moment for our friends with us. First visit here 4/23/21 stopped in for supper, waited 45 minutes to be seated but it was about 5:45 pm when it arrived. Once we were seated our server took our drink orders immediately, a rum runner and two waters. When she returned with our drinks, which was rather quickly she took our food orders. We chose the chips and salsa for an appetizer, a porterhouse (medium rare) with steamed vegetables and a garden, southwest grilled chicken with fries and Caesar salad. The porterhouse was cooked almost well done one was side and nearly raw on the other, steamed vegetables were very good, the rum runner tasted good but was obviously "watered down". The southwest chicken fries was perfect. We like the look of the restaurant and the decor is interesting to look at. It is noisy when it's busy but not unpleasant. The wait staff are friendly, quick and courteous. Overall it's a nice place but the food was all that impressive, especially considering how expensive it is to dine here. read more
