Excellent diner style restaurant open for breakfast and lunch. Immediately after sitting down we were brought some sort of rasin bread/cake that was delicious. The food was plentiful, prepared very well, and served in a timely manner. You could watch the cook (Manny I think) as he prepared the dishes on the grill. I have an issue with people who give this restaurant a poor rating. Sounds like they have too much time on their hands. Is it small? Yes. Are the portions huge for the price? Yes. Is the place a little messy? Yes. Why? Because the restaurant is constantly jam packed with guests. If they had time to clean up between patrons they would. The workers there are not bored enough to do that, they are busting their @$$es serving quick, delicious food. I read on here someone complaining about them only having "one guy" cooking. That "one guy" is MANNY. You can't get any better than the owner himself cooking every item of food that goes out at that place. I sat at the bar the first and only time I've been there and I see how hard Manny and his staff work. It's pretty impressive. Anyone criticizing this place and giving it poor reviews has some serious psychological issues. read more

Manny's is one of The best family owned diners I've been too. It's this small cozy little place that's a favorite to locals as well as out of towners alike. The atmosphere is upbeat, the prices are fair and the portions are more than enough. Put it this way... you ask for 2 eggs, you're getting 4.... and that order of hashbrowns? Expect a full plate of em! It's tasty and it's always amazing to see how Manny multitasks and cooks his butt off and still has some time to crack a joke and a smile. read more

If you like huge portions of under cooked food in grease this is the place to go. Being a local we have given Mannys several try' s. The last straw was the giant burnt strawberry pancakes my granddaughter refused to eat. Followed by a plate full of under cooked eggs for my wife and I. They do have good breakfast food, but it is veeeerrrry greasy. The cinnamon roll french toast was really good but kind of pricy in my opinion (7.50 for 3 pieces and bacon). I did not get the pancakes but noticed them coming out and they were ginormous!! Also they had some kind of garbage plate - hash browns, eggs, meat, cheese... that looked like it could feed 4. It is very small, with a lot of tables compacted into a small space, but they do have very fast service. Someone came in with a wheel chair and the only wheelchair accessible table is in the back, but the aisles to get there are like a foot or foot and a half wide so no way the wheelchair could get down the aisle so they had to leave. read more

Absolutely delicious! At one point my boyfriend wanted to go every day. The prices are very cheap and the food is great! My favorite is the french toast with cinnamon butter. One of the best things I have ever tasted. Not only is the cinnamon butter amazing but they give you thick texas toast. Love it! The place is a little small but it is right on the lake, so it's a nice relaxing view. The lady who was our waitress (we have had the same lady every time we went) is extremely friendly and sociable. Where to begin...I've heard nothing but great things about Manny's, great food, huge portions, small, but charming....yeah, no. There's nothing charming about this place. Small, yes, cluttered, yes, the stink of a fry-o-later in the air....definitely. If a diner were judged on portion size alone this place would have 5 stars all the way....but portion size is irrelevant if you're serving barely edible food. We'll start with the simplest order. Scrambled eggs, bacon and American potato's. Can't screw that up, right? Now I understand the place was jam packed and there's only one guy on the grill, but if you can't handle that and you serve everything under cooked then hire another cook for a Sunday morning. Her scrambled eggs were the strangest combination of nearly burned, but still uncooked in the middle, like an under cooked omelette, the bacon....which will be a common theme throughout the review, was so severely over cooked, in no longer tasted anything like bacon, and if you're using a quality bacon, it's still delicious when it's crispy. Her American potatoes were glistening with fryer grease when they were served, and also undercooked. She did love the cinnamon butter on her toast though. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries which was huge, and loaded with about 6 pieces of bacon....also cooked beyond recognition. How to describe this burger? The word mealy comes to mind. But that would be kind, it was straight mush. It had no sear and the meat was loose and mushy. It pretty much fell apart in the bun(which was soaked with clarified butter, but was more likely just oil, and not grilled...and was soggy as a result). The only thing kind of holding it together were the unmelted pieces of processed cheese food on it. I ate half and couldn't get any further. What can I say, I was starved. The fries were fine, but I just don't like that style of Burger King style coated fries. Meh. The worst of all of the things we ordered was the steak and eggs that my girlfriend's son ordered. The steak was way under cooked--also a common theme-he was so busy, everything coming out was under, He took one bite of the steak and the look on his face was priceless. As he was chewing he asked, "why does my steak taste like fish?" He offered me a sniff of his next piece and sure enough. Smelled like two day old cod. Nasty. He still managed to eat half, because he's 13. But couldn't go any farther. His eggs which he ordered over medium were in fact, under cooked sunny side up just flipped over on his plate. The whites were so runny, he couldn't eat them....oh, and his toast was ice cold with unmelted butter on it. As for the decor, there are random things packing shelves, and an assortment of T-shirt's hanging on the wall...I was wondering why they were all covered in plastic...which is very uninviting, until I walked out and realized I smelled like I just took a bath in a deep fryer. I will never set foot in that nightmare ever again! And this from a guy that loves a greasy spoon joint. Manny's is awful. I didn't bother saying anything about any of this because everything was terrible and the place is so small and full of regulars, I honestly didn't feel comfortable saying anything. I paid my $40 and learned a valuable lesson. Not to ever go back to this hole. read more
