    Grilled asparagus

I'm obsessed with this restaurant! This place is such a vibe. I came here for brunch to celebrate my bday with my family. It's located within Hauser & Wirth which I discovered is an art gallery. When you walk through the building and enter the restaurant, it's such a big open space and doesn't feel cramped at all. Such a nice ambiance with lovely greenery and decor. Perfect for celebrations or a nice date out! Great for photos too. Across the way from the restaurant, there's even an area with fresh herbs being grown and you can even see a bunch of chickens! So if you come with little ones, they'll be super entertained and will have a great time here. We ordered a whole bunch of food and split everything. Upon seeing so many reviews for the cornbread, we had to get that and wow wow wow it is so worth the hype. Unreal. We had to order 2 because it was that good. Smoked albacore dip, ocean trout tartare, and louisiane shrimp aguachile were all good. The cara cara salad was diviiiiiine, so unique, it's a salad of oranges but it had such a unique flavor and had a slight kick to it. It's one of a kind! Both the grilled yellowtail and hangar steak were delicious, the steak comes with two eggs. Both cooked to perfection. Got a side of grilled asparagus, this one had an interesting twist with seaweed. Tasty but other dishes shined more. We ordered so much food and everything had such a beautiful presentation and was really delicious! I would come back here again in a heartbeat. One of my fave restaurants in LA, by far. Service was great too!

We came here to celebrate my sister's birthday, and so glad we did! This place is located in the arts district In LA and it definitely has that vibe. We came here with my two kiddos. We ended up sharing a ton of the dishes, but sadly they are unable to substitute or remove dairy or cheese from any of the dishes. My sister and her boyfriend don't eat dairy, so it is a little tricky. That said, the waitress was very kind and she mentioned which dishes had no dairy so they could choose those. The ones that really stood out were the cornbread---we ended up, ordering two! The albacore fish dip dish was really good. The asparagus dish was pretty good, but pretty salty. I don't recommend the grilled fish because it was really dry. The rest of the dishes were great! The ambience is awesome. You're surrounded by plants and it feels like you're eating in a garden. This place is kind of a hit or miss when it comes to kids mostly because all they have a chicken coop in the side, when my kids were wandering about next to our table in this open space, the security guards told us to make our kids sit down. It was not the greatest experience from that standpoint, but our waitress, Ally was great with the kids! TLDR: great flavors, fantastic ambience, wouldn't bring kids here

    Great drink options.

We finally made it to Manuela for date night after years of seeing it all over social media. And honestly? The space lives up to the hype. It's inside a massive historic warehouse in the Arts District and the restaurant feels like an oasis hidden inside an industrial building. There's a cool open-air courtyard in the middle where sunlight pours in, so even though you're technically indoors, it feels partially outside. Tons and tons of plants, a beautiful bar and high ceilings make the place feel special. And that's what I wanted for date night. Not just dinner 20 minutes from home, but somewhere that felt special. The food absolutely delivered. The roasted chicken was simple but perfectly executed with juicy meat and crispy skin. The smoked albacore dip with rice chips was subtle, smoky and not overly fishy. Great starter. The soft shell crab was excellent too, but I was surprised that the snap peas and yellow squash alongside it stole the show. Perfectly crisp and farmer's market fresh. I usually don't even care about those vegetables. The drink menu also deserves love. Huge wine list, beautiful cocktails, and super funny cocktail/mocktail names. My wife loved the "Ta Ta Tatiana" mocktail and I had a Japanese lager I'd never tried before and it was great. Now for the reason this is a 3-star review instead of 5. The service just didn't match the quality of the food or atmosphere. The host barely acknowledged us while fake-typing at the computer. The guy who seated us felt like he was dropping off luggage. And our waitress had absolutely zero warmth or energy. Asking her to describe the smoked albacore dip seemed to physically inconvenience her and she almost talked us out of ordering it. Overall, we were just one of her tables she had to drop food off to. I'm not trying to trash people working hard service jobs. I worked those jobs too when I was younger. But when you're charging these prices and creating this kind of experience, hospitality matters. There's so much to love about Manuela. The space is beautiful. The food is memorable. But welcoming guests should feel like part of the experience, not an afterthought. On a side note, although he wasn't our server, but the server for all the tables around us, big shout out to Angel! We longingly watched him as he chatted up his guests and made them laugh as he described dishes and told stories. Give that man a raise.

Wednesday afternoon, cool breeze , surrounded by eclectic art, bricks and old warehouse vibe . Easy service. Fresh ingredients taste better .

Wow, an amazing lunch at an amazing spot! this hit all the notes for me, easily 4+ stars We had a light lunch: the smoked tuna dip with these giant crisps somewhere between papadum and shrimp chips, also the famous biscuits -these are so fluffy and flaky, and served warm out of the oven, and third an arugula salad that was great, but compared to the other dishes -well it's hard to be a salad, amiright? I also had a phony Negroni that was pretty darn tasty, especially dressed up with lemon carve, a sprig of rosemary, and a big block of ice. The setting is gorgeous, an open indoor-outdoor space inside the Hauser & Wirth gallery, makes you want to just sit and relax all day. And the staff was super friendly.

If you're looking for the perfect Sunday plan in LA, start with brunch at Manuela and then wander through the galleries at Hauser & Wirth. They're in the same space, and it makes for such a great experience. This was my second time at Manuela, and it was even better than the first time. The brunch menu is excellent, the food is delicious, and the service is on point. The ambiance is one of my favorite parts... lush greenery everywhere with a relaxed indoor-outdoor feel that's very LA but still feels unique. We ordered the eggs Benedict (served in a brioche bread bowl) and the French toast... both so so good. Highly recommend. I'll definitely back.

We had a reservation for brunch and was seated almost immediately after checking in. Thankfully we did because the wait seemed long for those without reservations. Our server was very attentive and through in explaining the menu and providing recommendations since it's our first time here. Beignet - excellent! Super fluffy, slight chewy (tasted like mochi flour?) and not too sweet. Must order. Shrimp & grits - well balanced and good sized portion. It has a little bit of heat but overall very tasty dish. Venison burger - good burger, well balanced flavor overall, but it didn't really "wow". That's not to say it wasn't good. It's definitely still a very solid burger. Vibes are . We also walked around the art gallery after our meal. Parking can be challenging but there's valet.

It's odd how sometimes Yelp sometimes show pics from previous visits to a restaurant on a review, then in cases like this one, only showing my most recent visit. Whatever the case - it's time to finally share my thoughts ... This most recent visit was during DineLA 2/2026. Dropped in on a weeknight and enjoyed it just like I have before. This was my third time. Parking was the same. Street parking or nearby garages. This time parked in the garage behind the brewery. $25. No validation. Other lots and street parking in the area too. Service was as expected. Excellent. Attentive. Friendly. Efficient. Clearing tables (was seated at a small table and space was an issue with all the plates) and refills. A genuine nice - not something feigned making you feel like the server is working the gratuity. Food was good - see pics. Went with the DineLA menu (Venison) and added a few menu items. And drinks. Enjoyed the ingredients and how everything blended together. It may not be for all, but the dishes that this team offers works for me. By the way, there's a bar - which I didn't know is open before dinner. Had a few cocktails before dinner until my table was ready. On another note, there's both indoor and outdoor seating. I've not sat outdoors yet but next time will try. The indoors area is cool because you can see all the action but it can get a little loud. Yes, you read that right. There will be a next time.

By far one of my favorite restaurants I've tried this year. Such a cute, chic, aesthetically pleasing spot. We came for dinner not expecting much, but I am now emotionally attached to those biscuits. They were AMAZING. The cocktail list had a great sense of humor, and the wine list was extremely long -- I couldn't decide. I went with the Spritz'er I Barely Know Her... she was cute, refreshing, and definitely a must-sip. What we ordered: Miyagi Oysters -- 10/10 Burrata Persian Cucumber Salad -- 10/10 Creamed Biscuits -- 1000/1000 (good lord... incredible) Venison Burger -- 10/10 Butterball Potatoes -- 8/10 Pork Chop -- 8/10 Heirloom Half Chicken -- 8/10 For three people, we shared everything and still had leftovers. Everything was delicious. I'm already planning my return for brunch!

A must stop whenever I find myself near DTLA. The outdoor dining space on a spring or summer afternoon is the best. From service to the dishes coming from the kitchen this is a great spot. Their cocktail program goes with the season, the wine list is well curated (just like a great museum with out of touch master pieces but approachable alternatives). Their cocktail program menu follows the season and offers just the right amount of options. On my last visit the blistered snap peas were so sweet and the char just took them to another level and the crunch of the quinoa was over the top. I am a fan of a long lunch and this is the spot for that.

Wow! I must go again cause we had a lovely dinner last night! I was looking for a place that was dog friendly and had some vegetarian options for my friend and this checked all the boxes. We didn't end up brining her little pup, but the ambience was so inviting, luxurious, and natural. Surrounded by greenery and well kept patio furniture, stylistic and industrial fixtures, it was a space you wanted to stay in. The food was superb as well. Biscuits and butter were a HIT and recommended by our server. The burrata salad, so fresh and tasty as a starter. And the artichoke and Lima bean dish was delicious, satisfying, while light. And one of our favorite parts, the SPRITZ HER I barely know her drink! The St Germaine spritz they make here is worth coming back ALONE! Our service was excellent from water refilling, recommendations, to our hostess greeting us quickly, 10/10 and will be back to try more dishes!

Delicious! One of my favorite spots in arts district. Love the simple menu, the bites and ambience. Servers were incredibly nice and accommodating to my party as I came in for my graduation celebration and were able to accommodate for last minute extra guests.

Tried Manuela in the Arts District for the first time for dinner, and wow--this might have been one of the best meals we've had in a long time. We brought the family here to celebrate a birthday and were so glad we did. The restaurant has a uniquely eclectic and fun atmosphere, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Every dish we ordered was packed with amazing flavor, and honestly we loved everything we tried. Hats off to the chefs and the whole team--this place really impressed us. We'll definitely be back!

Even though my partner and I had a reservation that we showed up on time for, we waited 30 minutes to be seated. That wait time is pretty outrageous considering we reserved a table for 30 minutes earlier. Once seated, we noticed that the staff were extremely slow and inattentive. It took a while for us to get some water and even longer to get our food. The pacing between dishes was ludicrous. The food here is the saving grace for the disappointing service. We started off with the naan & dips. The dips were tahini tofu and carrot hummus. I liked the tahini tofu dip much more than the carrot hummus. It was creamy, nutty, and savory. The naan was fresh and nicely charred. Next we had the goat liver mousse. This included crumpets, biscuit crackers, craisin relish, seasonal jam, and of course, goat liver mousse. The crackers were too dry for me, but I really enjoyed the warm crumpets. All of the spreads were equally good. The goat live mousse itself was smooth and light. For the main courses, we shared the grilled kalbi-style short ribs and pork belly noodles. The short ribs were covered in a sweet-savory sauce and had a deep caramelization, while the meat was tender and juicy. As for the pork belly noodles, the overall flavor was too salty, but the glass noodles had a nice texture. Throughout our entire meal, there was a fly that kept trying to fly onto our food. It was very annoying to deal with. I was surprised that it was even an issue, considering we had indoor seating. I would have understood if only we were seated outside. Ultimately, I did not leave with a great impression of this restaurant. On top of that, there isn't any designated parking lot, so you'll be lucky if you can even find street parking. If not, you'll need to use one of the paid lots nearby. Also, beware that this restaurant adds a surcharge to all checks regardless of party size.

MAIN - *Beef Ribeye: delicious. It's good to share because of the richness of the ribeye plus the bone marrow. I personally could not eat the whole ribeye by myself. Medium rare is the way to go. - *Mushroom Crusted Pork Chop: cooked well and was delicious! Not dry whatsoever. The crust on the pork chop was great. SIDES - *Dressed Lettuce: their salad which is a necessity to have vegetables at the table. The dressing is citrusy and bright, which helps cut the richness of the food. DESSERT - *Sticky Date Pudding: this does take some time to make since it's in a skillet. But when it comes out, it's so decadent with the ice cream. I tell myself that I'm healthy eating it since it's made with dates. - Chocolate Cake: dense, rich, dark chocolate, not too sweet. I love dark chocolate so I was a fan of this cake. We even got it to go and it still tasted good a few days after the meal. It's pretty dense for a cake and I really only need a few bites -- so its a nice way to end the meal. If 2-3 people: recommend 2-3 app/sides + 1 main protein If 4-5 people: 3-5 app/sides + 1 main protein I think it's a great celebratory meal. Everyone that I've come with has stated they would go come back -- especially since the menu does change seasonally. PARKING: street parking; there is usually some around the corner and down the block; no more than 5 minutes walking

Something happened and when we arrived there was a mix up with the reservation so we ended up sitting in the bar for about 45 minutes. This place is extremely casual, think shorts, t shirts, and flip flops and you won't be out of place. Servers and bartenders all have the eagle rock/highland park grunge vibe. I went there with my wife and 2 teenage daughters. We started with the cornbread. I thought it was good (4/5) but with the amount of butter and honey anything would have been good. Wife didn't care for it, thought the buttermilk made it too sour. Just know that it's tiny. For the four of us, each had one bite. The menu for mains is pretty limited. Steak, swordfish, or porkchop. We ended up going with the steak, 2 swordfish, and then added the brown eyed peas, mashed potatoes, and then wanted to start off with the pork chile (which is really chile verde). The chile verde was the star of the night. If I ever went back, this is what I would order. Maybe it's because all the chef's are hispanic, but it was really good. They serve it with homemade tortillas and it was excellent. The steak is a large 2 pound bone in rib eye. I ordered it medium rare. It was more on the rare side, which i don't have a problem with, but the steak was a little tough. Not super tough but for $150 I definitely expected a little more "melt in your mouth" rather that fighting some pieces. Bone marrow was a nice touch. probably a 3/5. The fish was well cooked, not dry but the flavor was not amazing either. Hard to explain but the sauce was a little too sour. I like lemon on my fish but the sour almost made me think the fish was past it's prime. It wasn't, but the sauce didn't really highlight the fish. I shouldn't have ordered two and would skip this one next time. My least favorite and a 2/5 The sides were good. Mashed potatoes with garlic and butter, nothing special but good. Brown eyed peas were really just white beans. They were good, but not steal the show good. About a 3/5 For dessert we split the chocolate cake which was more like a muffin with a hazelnut whipped cream. Don't think of chocolate cake, think of it rather as a small piece of chocolate flavored loaf with no frosting or chocolate pieces. I liked it because I like things that are not very sweet but I was the only one that cared for it. Overall portions are fairly small. Between me, my wife, and two teenagers we ate everything. Total bill with tip was about $510. Pretty crazy when you think about it. Would I go back? Probably not but the ambiance was nice with the grill and real candles.

An Absolute Masterpiece of a Lunch!…read more My friend was visiting from New York, and I wanted to take her somewhere truly special for lunch. Since it was our first time at République, we didn't quite know what to expect, but we were completely blown away! From the atmosphere to the service and, of course, the food--everything was flawless. The Main Event Blueberry Pancake: My friend ordered this, and it was huge and incredibly delicious. A total crowd-pleaser. Filipino Pork Belly Adobo: I ordered this and was so impressed by how rich and deeply flavorful it was. Absolutely delicious. World-Class Service & Hospitality The service here is incredibly efficient, but what really made our day was the staff. Rambo took care of us and he was fantastic--so pleasant, attentive, and proactive with everything we needed. We also had the absolute pleasure of meeting the owner! It was so impressive to see her on the floor working just as hard as the rest of the team. She was incredibly nice and you can tell she truly cares; we watched her personally ensure the quality of the dishes was on point before they ever left the kitchen. That level of dedication explains why this place is so successful. Do Not Skip Dessert! Before you leave, you must hit the pastry counter. We grabbed a few things to try, and they were sinfully good: Kouign-Amann: Flaky, caramelized perfection. Basque Cheesecake: Rich, creamy, and beautifully baked. Chewy Chocolate Cookie: Perfectly textured and decadent. We had such a beautiful experience here. République lived up to the hype and then some. We will definitely be back, and we're bringing our friends and family next time!

I had my rehearsal dinner here last week and all in all it was a WONDERFUL experience…read more We reserved the kitchen area for 32 guests with a set menu served family style. The food was INCREDIBLE and I was SO pleasantly surprised by how much food there was! We ended up with soooooo many leftovers! Family style meals always make me a little nervous, but the portions were plentiful and all of our guests left completely stuffed. The bread and butter was a standout, as well as the corn puff pastry appetizer (I can't remember exactly what it was called!). The steak and chicken main courses were to die for and the strawberry tiramasu was incredible. I could go on and on about the food. It really exceeded our expectations. Jared, our server was WONDERFUL. He was so attentive and on top of things. He communicated with my husband and I whenever he needed to and made our entire dinner so seamless and fun. The only downside to the experience was in planning the evening. I struggled a bit when it came to communicating with Sandra in the days/weeks leading up to our dinner. I didn't feel like we were a priority and often had to call or email multiple times to get a response. I found that to be very frustrating, especially because it was such an important part of our wedding and in the days leading up to getting married, the last thing I wanted to be doing was waiting on an email from the restaurant or hunting down a response about our beverage menu. I was also really bummed to see that when we got to the restaurant, our dinner menu had the wrong date printed on it. I wanted to bring one of the menus home as a keepsake, but it felt pointless when I saw the typo. There were also drinks on the beverage menu that we had never discussed, which was another disappointment. It ultimately didn't ruin our overall experience, but I think it's worth noting for other people planning larger dinner parties at Republique because I do wish a little more care had been taken on the restaurant's end while planning our dinner.

I had dinner with a friend here and we loved everything we had. Service was the perfect level - kind but not over~the~top, checking in just the right amount, making sure we were well taken care of. Clean bathrooms, too, haha! Now the drinks and eats! I absolutely loved my Pecan Cold Brew (6.50) and was surprised to see such an option at dinner! It was perfect. My friend had the beautiful Ginger Thyme Lemonade ($6.50) which was also just delicious. I highly recommend everyone try their 'Selection of freshly baked breads with all 4 spreads' for $29 if it's your first visit in. It's a filling starter of a few of their breads (the pre-buttered & chives topped charred levain was exquisite as is - no notes!) and a few of their toppings. My personal favorite of the toppings was the fresh cheese with honey & salsa macha - our server said it was their favorite, too - but there wasn't a bad topping in the lot. Butter + Salt was simple but lovely. The Charred Eggplant spread was sweet in a good way with walnuts and pomegranate molasses. The smoked trout was nice to have a meaty option with smoked onions mixed in, topped with roe. We had the Bluefin Tuna Carpaccio ($27) starter which was light but beautiful with meyer lemon, chives, sea salt, and sourdough crisps. Everyone recommended me the Fried Brussels Sprouts ($15) before I went and y'all were right! They come lightly fried with red flame grapes, walnuts, and pecorino cheese all mixed on the plate Fell in love with Superba Food + Bread and can't wait to go back. I hear their brunch is fabulous, too!

The chopped chicken salad was actually so good and filling, I loved the vinaigrette, it was bright and refreshing. And the rainbow trout was cooked well. The cinnamon sticky bun was pretty good, but it was a little overdone so the bottom was quite hard. The black sesame matcha was okay as well, I didn't really taste the matcha or the black sesame.

Our server Ahman was attentive had great personality, funny. "Strong and cute " LOL. The food was amazing we ordered a bunch of things. That knuckle sandwich was hitting hard. That steak and mashed potatoes was delicious. OMG and the ox tail grilled cheese hands down was Completing hard with that knuckle sandwich. The food was to die for , I can't say enough about the food. This restaurant EVERYTHING WAS SO DELECTABLE!!! There's not many restaurants that you can say everything was delicious but you can say it about Linden. The chef came out , the GM came Over. The customer service made you feel like you were a VIP customer. I definitely have to go back, like ASAP. I'm dreaming about this food. The experience was unforgettable and the type of experience that whoever trained those individuals at LINDEN in creating a customer experience need to train other restaurants. I will Definitely be back. Oh and not to mention after You eat they can take you next door through the back to go to DOT. It's a bar next door with drinks and music. It gets pretty packed in there at around 11. I can't say enough wonderful amazing things about this place. Will definitely be back for sure !!!! Will be making reservations again soon.

Linden is on Sunset, so parking can be hard to come by. If you're lucky, you might find street parking, but most likely you'll need to valet unless you don't mind walking some distance. Moving on. We had a reservation so we were seated immediately. Started with drinks, and I don't remember the names (apologies). One was a passion fruit cocktail, very flavorful. The other has pineapple and was also very nice. Both drinks has a great blend of spirit and flavor. Food, we started with the Yellowtail Crudo and the Lobster & Crab Knuckle Sandwich. The crudo was excellent with a scotch bonnet ponzu sauce to dab in and scallion salad. Would definitely recommend. The Lobster & Crab Knuckle Sandwich was also one of the best lobster rolls I've had. So much lobster and crab, perfectly buttered, a great roll... so good! For entrees we did the NY strip and the Sweet Corn & Pea Agnolotti. The NY strip was cooked perfectly with the pomme puree and wilted spinach. Great bite with everything together. The Sweet Corn & Pea Agnolotti was also good with sweet corn-filled agnolotti and charred corn on top. The one thing that I felt was a little it of place was the truffle on the peas. It wasn't an overbearing amount but the truffle flavor really came through and, for me, just didn't bring it all together. It was still a good dish, but I felt the truffle did not need to be there. Might have been better with something else or just leaving it off all together. Overall, fabulous restaurant on Sunset serving a great menu with inspiration from around the world. Cocktails were amazing as was the food. Highly recommend!

Majordomo seems to be trapped in an identity crisis: it can't decide if it's an Asian restaurant, a wannabe fine-dining establishment, or just a social experiment to see how much people will pay for "creative" lettuce. The "Bing" bread was actually competent--great texture, solid flavor and dip. I suppose the kitchen peaked in the first five minutes. It was all downhill from there. The tapioca noodles were a tragedy. They lacked that signature, satisfying chew you'd expect from actual quality Asian noodles. They were less "authentic comfort food" and more "sad, limp regret." Then there was the Bok Choy, which arrived looking like it had been through a traumatic encounter with a Brussels sprout griller, doused in some bizarre, creamy-sweet sauce that I can only assume was an accident. The prime rib? A masterclass in audacity. It was priced like it had been massaged daily by a professional athlete, yet it tasted like something I could order at a chain steakhouse for a fraction of the cost. The mushroom rice was equally salty and underwhelming--I've had more excitement from a box of instant mix. Majordomo is a fascinating place if your goal is to spend a small fortune to leave feeling more confused than hungry. If you're looking for actual Asian food, keep driving. If you're looking to watch your credit card statement weep, you've found the spot.
