We mistakenly walked into the wrong place so when you go in, make sure you take the elevator upstairs if not, you'll be visiting a completely different spot. Once we did arrive, we were welcomed with open arms and in a very professional and classy way. Our server was exceptional. She not only explained the specials very eloquently, but she also answered all of our questions very patiently. I was expecting the food to be good, but it was actually excellent. We visited Maple & Ash in Miami about a month ago, and I've finally had a chance to write this review. Our party of seven decided to go with the "I Don't Give a F***" tasting menu. It's definitely a splurge, so we were excited to see what the experience would be like. The variety of dishes that came out was impressive, and there was plenty of food to share. Unfortunately, the execution didn't live up to the price. The first seafood dish that was served was so salty that our table had to send it back. While the replacement was a little better, it was still much saltier than it should have been. The biggest disappointment was the steak. It was incredibly tough and chewy, making it difficult to enjoy, especially for what should have been the highlight of the meal. On a positive note, the desserts were excellent, and the cocktails were probably the best part of the evening. The service was also friendly throughout the meal. For a restaurant with this reputation and price point, I expected a much more consistent dining experience. While there were a few highlights, the quality of some of the key dishes didn't justify the cost, and I left feeling disappointed. read more

I visited Maple & Ash today for a friend's birthday. The food was excellent, and our waiter, Zafar, was wonderful. The staff delivering our food were equally lovely, and even the doorman was incredibly warm and welcoming. They were all fantastic. Unfortunately, the front desk experience was the complete opposite. I arrived before everyone else and was told to wait at the bar, which was fine. Once five of our eight guests had arrived, I asked if we could be seated. The restaurant had plenty of empty tables, but they acted like I was asking for something outrageous. The "manager" then asked if I was comfortable ordering for my missing friends because they like everything to come out at the same time. Honestly, what? Like, HUH? I'm the guest. It's my friend's birthday. We're paying to dine there. Why am I being made to run on the restaurant's schedule instead of being made to feel comfortable? Born and raised in Miami, I know this city's restaurant scene well. I know great hospitality when I experience it, and this was NOT it. The front desk staff came across as inexperienced, dismissive, and unprofessional. There was eye-rolling over a simple seating request, which is unacceptable at a restaurant positioning itself as a luxury dining experience. The irony is that once we were finally seated, everything was great. The food was delicious. Zafar took wonderful care of us. The table service was excellent. But first impressions matter, and the front desk is doing this restaurant a huge disservice. Great food. Great waiter. Great table service. Terrible front desk customer service. The place is nice and spacious with a nice bar as well. Service has been great when I have gone and friendly. You have to find parking in a nearby garage or something as parking is scarce. I am not much of a drinker but I enjoy the entry drink they give you. Also highly recommend the Parker bread you have to order separately as a side. Delicious. Food is good overall. I have had the filet, aged meatballs, mac and cheese among other items. Prices are high so expect to spend a bit. I would definitely come back as I have a couple of times already. read more

Saw this place on Instagram a few times when I went to Miami for work so I decided to try it out. I went during the HH and got an old Fashioned that was great and the seafood tower. The seafood tower was great. It is spicy because of the chili aioli sauce but if you like spice you will love it. I'm not big on spicy but I still enjoyed it. I sat at the bar and my waitress was great and attentive. When I was leaving it was raining and I didn't have my umbrella and the doorman walked me to my car to ensure I didn't get wet. Let me start off with this has always been one of my favorite testosterone I was super excited to have them join us in Miami the drinks are amazing and the food was by far delicious and met the expectations that I already knew that it would. TDLR: sneaky over tipping off food that was not available and didn't come out correctly. Over tipped $30 on food we didn't even get or eat. I wanted to like this place since a couple of people have said they had good experiences. Sadly, it was underwhelming. I can cook a better steak at home. The only redeeming thing was the wagyu carpaccio. I think other diners deserve to know how sketchy this place is and being that it's a chain, there is no way that this is an accident. We ordered sparkling water which took 15 mins to arrive. Then we ordered skirt steak and it wasn't available so it didn't even come out of the kitchen (tipped on this). Because it was not available we got the the classic rib eye instead. The server said he can comp a couple of sides to make up for the skirt steak not being available. The first rib eye came out well done (tipped on this). So it got sent back and another one came medium which is what we wanted but it was very over salted and tasted like it was made on a dirty grill. We got sides of asparagus and fries were fine. Branzino was bland. Not worth getting. All in all, the food is below average. The service was average but seeing the way they operate by charging mandatory tip for food we didn't get, I will not be going back. read more

So tonight was my first time dining at Maple & Ash, and here is my honest review. We started at the bar for drinks, but the bartender was standoffish and it took a while to get her attention. Once seated, there was another delay before our waitress came over, and we had to ask someone to send her to our table. When she did arrive, she was very friendly and personable. For appetizers, we had the lobster dumplings, which were just okay, and the French dip that our waitress suggested, which was amazing. The oysters on the half shell were excellent, and the Maple & Ash wedge salad was outstanding. Our waitress suggested splitting the salad and serving the bacon on the side since I do not eat pork, but the salad arrived neither divided nor with the bacon on the side. The Golden Kaluga caviar was absolutely delicious, and my Mediterranean branzino was a 10 out of 10. Dessert was the flambé, which was incredible, though next time I would ask for less rum. Overall, the food was outstanding and lived up to the hype. While our server was sweet and had a great personality, the lack of attentiveness made the experience less enjoyable. This space is absolutely stunning and a great addition to downtown! The bar area is pretty and dimly lit. Once you sit, you are given a welcome drink which is such a cute touch. Our waiter was quick and efficient and gave great recommendations. He also served us potato chips with a caviar dip complimentary, so delicious. To start we had the meatballs, which were very tasty and came with a little piece of toast. I loved the caramelized tomato sauce. We also had the wedge salad, its tasty and comes with an onion ring on top. The hamachi crudo was very tasty not too fishy and i loved the ponzu sauce on top. I loved everything about this place. Walking in it's beautifully decorated and the ambiance is very romantic. Each table was lit by candlelight, as we were sat they gave us complimentary cocktails and a menu with a happy birthday printed on it. The food was amazing, for starters we had the lobster dumplings which were small and sat on top of a lobster bisque soup. I also had the beef tartar which was fantastic , that came accompanied with some toasted sourdough. For the main dish I ordered the New York strip and the Bone-In ribeye which were both fantastic , a little bit overcooked than how we ordered but so flavorful. You must get the beefed up butter to top the steaks. For sides i got the golden potato dish which was phenomenal and the Mac and cheese was good as well. Maple & Ash has long been a Chicago establishment, but its arrival in Miami has brought a new level of excitement to the city's dining scene. With a menu crafted by two Michelin star Chef Danny Grant and a wine list lauded by Wine Spectator as "one of the most outstanding in the world," expectations were sky high and somehow, the experience managed to exceed every single one. I'd been saving Maple & Ash for a special occasion, planning to celebrate our one year anniversary there. But when I saw the announcement for their exclusive Marble and Flame Australian Wagyu experience, I knew we had to grab the moment. It turned out to be one of the best dining decisions I've ever made. We arrived a little early and decided to start our evening at the bar. I ordered the Illicit Affair which is a dangerously delicious cocktail made with Grey Goose, St-Germain, dragon fruit, lemon, cucumber, and basil. It was so refreshing that I could have easily enjoyed four or five of them! My boyfriend went with the classic Old Fashioned, which he truly enjoyed as well. The bar set the tone for what would be an unforgettable night. After our drinks, we were escorted to a private room decorated with a gorgeous chandelier at its center. The atmosphere was elevated even further by a live violinist, whose music set the perfect mood for the evening ahead. We were greeted with a dramatic ice display featuring Island Creek oysters, wagyu tartare, Skull Island prawns, and passed wagyu nigiri sushi. Each bite was phenomenal so much so that I had to restrain myself from going back for seconds, knowing there was so much more to come. The next course was King River wagyu tataki with ribeye, topped with king crab in a smoked beef ponzu sauce. I can honestly say this was one of the best cuts of ribeye I've ever tasted..tender, flavorful, and unlike anything I've had before. The fact that this particular cut of beef has only been available in the U.S. for six months made it feel even more special. Following that, we enjoyed vintage Galician beef and Gudaghai lamb chops served with pomme purée with truffled onion. "Wow" is the only word that does it justice. The meats melted in your mouth, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. Just when I thought the meal couldn't get any better, dessert arrived which was a black truffle cherry sundae. The truffle vanilla ice cream was out of this world, paired with black cherry and white soy caramel. I devoured every bite and even finished what my boyfriend couldn't. The fact that some of the beef fat was used in the ice cream was a unique and delicious touch. Throughout the evening, the wine pairings were spot-on, featuring excellent selections from Penfolds. The Chardonnay and red wines complemented each course beautifully, and the attentive staff ensured our glasses were never empty. To top it all off, when I mentioned to the marketing manager that we'd originally planned to celebrate our anniversary the following week here, she surprised us with a customized menu wishing us a happy anniversary. Such a thoughtful gesture that made the night even more memorable. Maple & Ash's Marble and Flame experience was, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Wow finally a great steakhouse experience in South Florida! We made reservations on Resy and upon arrival, were seated promptly. There are 3 areas that I saw, the bar area (with some table seating), a dining area next to the bar, and *the* dining room. We were a party of two and were seated in the dining area next to the bar along the wall. What I didn't like most is that it wasn't as intimate being seated so close to others, so next time I'll reserve a table in the main dining room instead. So upon seating, the waiter immediately greeted us with a cocktail on the house. It was a light and refreshing vodka based drink. Then they gave us some chips with onion dip and caviar. Very good. We ordered a 'field greens' salad and a meatball appetizer to start. Both were shareable between two people. Our main courses were filet mignons which were cooked perfectly to order and the meat quality was on point! Side dishes were French fries and potatoes au gratin. The Au Gratin potatoes were amazing, very delicious. They were cheesy (manchego & Parmesan) and so worth it. The later it got, the more they pumped up the music, I'd say the restaurant was almost club-like, it was loud so if that's not your vibe, keep this in mind. The service, food quality and presentation and restaurant vibes were top notch. This is one of my fav restaurants in Miami. Can't want to give it another shot. read more

Szabi is their head sommelier and enough of a reason for me to pop in for drinks alone. He's an expert at his craft and will make you fall in love with wine if you haven't already. It's an art at this incredible restaurant making it an experience with every visit. I came here with a girlfriend, we both live in the area and I was raving about it so much I think we both got a little disappointed. It's a steakhouse so of course we order the skirt steak. They didn't have it so we ordered the rib eye. The waiter told us that he would make it extra special. It came overcooked so we had to send it back. This was the first time I've ever sent a steak back... and the one they served us was covered in charcoal taste. We ordered sparkling water and that took forever as well. Anyways, they comped us the sides to make up for not having the skirt steak available. And then they give you a welcome drink at the beginning that you don't ask for and charge extra for. They also put the skirt steak on the bill, and remove it as a "courtesy" but it shouldn't even be on there in the first place since they didn't have it in stock. Then they "remove" the sides that came with the steak on the bill, and so it looks like they comped us a lot of $ when they just do that so they can charge you tip on the items... this is a huge scam. I didn't even notice this the first time I came because we were in a big group but if this is how they do business then I hope they do not stick around much longer. How unfortunate, I loved it but not good for the locals!! Anyways, let's end on a good note. We also got the king crab salad, sea bass and the Wagyu beef carpaccio, the Wagyu beef carpaccio is definitely a must try here. It is my absolute favorite to appetizer. read more

What an exceptional experience. This was our second time dining here, and it was truly phenomenal. From the cocktails all the way through to dessert, everything was impeccable. The ambiance at M&A is exciting and sultry, setting the perfect tone for the evening. The service was spot-on and felt genuinely personalized, Nidia and the team were incredible, with every detail handled beautifully. We started with the bread service and freshly crisp crudités, and honestly, it may be the best bread service in the city. The amuse-bouche an oyster topped with caviar was a thoughtful and elegant touch. The seafood pot tower was outstanding. Each component tasted like it was cooked perfectly on its own and then brought together seamlessly. We were even treated to an off-menu addition where they tossed house-made curly pasta into the remaining seafood sauce absolutely delicious. The Wagyu beef carpaccio was beautifully executed, and the king crab and caviar took it to another level. The tuna tartare was also done very well. I devoured every bite of my wedge salad, because I hated it lol. The ribeye was cooked perfectly tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. The Dover sole was my favorite dish of the night: light, delicate, and flawless. We finished with an extra-large MOIST slice of chocolate cake and a house-made DIY ice-cream sundae tower, which was a perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. I COULDNT STOP EATING!! I visited Maple & Ash for the first time time last week with three girlfriends on a Thursday night. The restaurant was the perfect option for girls' night because the decor is opulent, the service was excellent (aside from our experience at the bar initially which I will get to shortly), and it was the quintessential fancy steakhouse experience. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and sat at the bar for a drink. I asked the first bar tender which of their sparkling wines was the most dry (I pointed to the sparkling wine section vs. the champagne section) and she poured me a glass of the one she recommended. The prices for the sparkling wines ranged from $16-$18. When the hostess came to tell us our table was ready, my friend asked the second bar tender to give us separate checks, and he proceeded to roll his eyes at us. When he handed me mine, I noticed I'd been charged for a $35 glass of champagne, which was not what I'd asked for. When I pointed it out, he begrudgingly (and slowly) corrected the error. Sadly, the experience with that one bar tender tainted the experience for us. He was unnecessarily hostile and rude and should probably reconsider working in the hospitality industry altogether. Fortunately, one we were seated at our table, everything improved. Our server was friendly and enthusiastic and made us feel right at home. Before we even looked at the menu she brought us all small martinis on the house which I thought was a very nice touch. We were also given potato chips with some sort of caviar dip that was delicious. To start, we shared the HAMACHI CRUDO which was great. We then ordered the following items to share: the 9 ounce FILET MIGNON, the PILLOWS OF LOVE, the FLORIDA TRIPLETAIL, the BRUSSELS SPROUTS and the YUKON GOLD POTATOES AU GRATIN. The steak was good although slightly overdone (we asked for medium). Our server raved about the pillows of love, the sprouts and the potatoes au gratin, but they were all wayyyyy overrated. For desert, we had the SUNDAE TOWER and while overpriced, it was quite good. Was the food the best I've ever had, definitely not. But, would I go back for the overall experience? Yes, probably. We started with the Seafood tower that was outstanding at the end they gave us some pasta to eat with the remaining delicious sauce. This is a must! Stunning Food, Hostile Management The food was excellent--the Tomahawk steak, oysters, mushrooms and hamachi were perfection. However, the service was a disaster. While we stepped away for a moment (restroom), the staff cleared our table, including unfinished plates of expensive food. When we addressed this with the manager, Paulo, he was incredibly rude, flatly stating he "wouldn't listen" to us. To make matters more confusing, after this hostile encounter, a waiter dropped off four glasses of wine we hadn't asked for--presumably a silent apology that the manager refused to give. It is a shame that a high-quality menu is overshadowed by Paulo's lack of professionalism. Great steak isn't worth being barked at. It's so gorgeous, it's definitely one of the prettiest restaurants in Miami for sure. I love the old, romantic, dimly lit aesthetic and this restaurant is all about that. Real candlesticks on each table on vintage chamber sticks was such a nice touch. We went for dinner the night before Valentine's Day and it was great. The music was very vibey but you could still hear each other talk. We were welcomed with a welcome drink and dip which was a nice touch. We ate the pillows of love pasta which was delicious, the wedge salad, the beef tenderloin steak tartare (wow!), and one of the wagyus. For whatever reason my drinks at the table were average, but when I ordered the same drink at the bar after dinner it was delicious. Must have been a different bartender. After our dinner, we were able to sit at the bar for a bit longer to keep enjoying the restaurant. We wanted to go to the speakeasy but it was at capacity. The food was solid, definitely well-prepared, but for the price point, it didn't quite deliver that "wow" factor. We had the French onion dip with chips, Caesar salad, ribeye, and potatoes au gratin. Everything was good and clearly made with care. the steak was cooked well and the potatoes creamy, but nothing stood out as exceptional or memorable. Dessert was a soufflé, which was honestly the highlight of the meal. Service was professional although the waitress was dressed very odd for this type of restaurant. The ambiance is exactly what you'd expect from a trendy Miami hotspot. The biggest drawback? The price. With one glass of wine for me and a whisky for my husband, the bill came to over $350. We recently had almost the same dinner, plus more drinks and a couple of extra dishes at Born and Raised in California for about $100 less and in a more beautiful setting. Miami prices are definitely getting out of control. Overall, Maple & Ash is fine, but if you're going for food value alone, there are much better options in the city. read more

This place absolutely blew it out of the park. They welcomed us with a drink each and a personalized menu for our 1 year wedding anniversary. The server (can't remember his name) was amazing. We did the IDGAF menu and it was stupendous. Every single dish was amazing. The dessert tower was phenomenal. The sundae experience felt like it was a scene out of Home Alone at the Plaza hotel in NYC. Then the server told us there was a speakeasy in the back, which we were called to go to. It was amazing. Nothing short of an AMAZING experience in terms of food, service, AND ambiance. 100/10 read more

Wednesday night with your girls and what I called an adult happy meal? Heck yeah. Sign me up! Chicken nuggets, fries, caviar, and champagne tower was so cute. Maple and Ash is such a vibe. And the aesthetics are beautiful. Oddly enough it was super empty but we still enjoyed ourselves. We always bring the party anyway! Lol. Service was great also. The only downside for me was the nuggets were definitely not the best. I'd love to see them pivot to some white meat chicken chunks. It was like processed meat and a little salty. I'd definitely go back to try some other menu items. read more

Absolutely incredible dinner!! Highly recommend this new restaurant. Been to the one in Chicago as well and I have to say this is even better. Our server Jason was a 10/10 along with all the other staff at the restaurant. The food was phenomenal; We had the Caesar salad, bone in ribeye, Dover sole, potatoes, asparagus and to finish it off the ice cream sundae!
