Had an amazing experience at smith! We started off with french onion soups then moved on to a surf and turf accompanied by the mashed potato's and huge cesar salad. Words can't described how amazing the quality of the food a taste was. san our serve daniel and John were fantastic. The sweetest guys. We finished off with the crème brûlée and it was to die for. We will definitely be back and we will sit with these servers.

Smith and Wollensky is a long standing establishment in South Point Miami Beach. I've been coming here since I was a little girl. Inside the restaurant is nice but sitting outside bar area or outside tables is where the real magic is. I had my first oysters here back in the days and I can vouch for them. The only thing is that through the years you never created a happy hour menu for your bar area. It would be nice in today's economy. But nonetheless, if you have never made your way out to S&W I highly recommend. Great surf and turf and oysters!

Killer water views at the bottom of South Beach. Pro-tip, you can order the burger any time, even at dinner when it's not officially on the menu. A luxe burger experience! Parker House Rolls: Classically famous. They're served warm. Fluffy and airy. And the butter is whipped, so it spreads nicely. Some herbal hints with the rosemary on top. It's such a conundrum because you'll want to devour the whole thing, but you have a lot of food coming. Burger: An excellent deal at like $22 for a top-notch burger and fries. I think they use their own ground beef blend, which includes steak trimmings. That's probably why it is so much better than a Five Guys burger. Super thick. Comes with a lot of veggie toppings. Only thing was that I didn't care for the sweet pickle on the side; I prefer sour dill. The fries were plentiful and crispy. Baked Alaska: Old school luxe. Definitely save room for dessert! The meringue is torched right by the table. Then the rum is ignited and poured over the whole thing. There's a huge layer of marshmallow-like meringue, tasting excellent with that sear and the rum. Then a dense layer of rum raisin ice cream, with some big soaked raisins. Finally a cakey layer at the bottom. It went was delicious and went down so smoothly. Felt like a steal for $20.

    Fritto Misto. Very good.

I've had the pleasure of dining at Smith & Wollensky (S&W) in NYC located on 3rd Ave., for power lunches and dinners on many occasions. Each meal and service worthy of the next. On our most recent Miami Beach visit, our meal experience for lunch at this particular location had us coming back again. Returning to S&W was not due to exceptional service from servers at the outside bar. Unfortunately service was lackluster, unless you knew them personally. Our return was mainly for the food and outdoor ambiance. Our choices for lunch were perfectly prepared. The Jumbo Shrimp, were indeed jumbo and succulent. Fritto Misto, mountainous crisp and flavorful. And the Tuna Tartare with the Rye Tuile thingy was a mash up of vibrant flavors. We returned another day for drinks at the outdoor bar to capture the early evening ambiance and a stellar steak and seafood dinner in the dining room. The exterior service was still the same...lackluster. I'm aware that the outdoor is more casual, but service I think should be in line with the global Smith & Wollensky name. Dinner reservations proved to be the top notch, charm we were looking for. Attentive service by career waiters and staff, with seasoned professionals keeping the S&W name afloat. Regardless of the errs in their juxtaposition servicing ways, we will be back as the view, atmosphere plus food are well worth an additional visit. My hope is for better service that is to be expected at such a premier and global acclaimed high $$$$ restaurant. What's good for the interior, should also be good for the exterior.

Visited for the first time last night and I honestly don't understand why this place has a 3.5-star rating. We'd always been a little hesitant to try it because of the reviews, but it's always packed every time we walk by. For our anniversary, we decided to give it a chance and wow, we're so glad we did. We made a reservation and were seated by the water. Our server and runner, Jose and Henry, were outstanding super attentive, incredibly friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. They gave great recommendations and were on top of everything throughout the night. The ambiance is fantastic, especially the outdoor seating by the water. There's nothing like enjoying dinner with the Miami skyline as your backdrop. We started with bread and oysters, then ordered the lobster, ribeye, and truffle mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. The ribeye was easily one of the best I've had perfectly cooked medium-rare with an incredibly flavorful crust. The lobster was amazing (I honestly wished I'd ordered a second one, but we already had way too much food!). The truffle mac and cheese was rich, balanced, and absolutely delicious. For dessert, they surprised us with a complimentary chocolate cake for our anniversary and let me tell you, it may be the best chocolate cake I've had in Miami. It's intensely chocolatey without being overly sweet, which makes it dangerously easy to eat. The name "Giant Chocolate Cake" is no exaggeration it's huge! The cream served with it balanced everything perfectly. We left with leftovers because the portions were generous and I'm definitely not complaining (actually excited to enjoy it again throughout the week). If I had one suggestion, it would be that the hostess could have been friendlier and a bit more accommodating, especially considering we had a reservation in place. All in all, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we loved this place. We'll definitely be coming back more often, especially since it's right around the corner. Highly recommend giving it a try

Decided to come to start the new year with a good lunch and well I was a bit disappointed !! The food was ok, the service was mediocre at best !!! Several tables around complained of the service. For example our meat was overcooked and the table next to us had their's either overcooked or undercooked, and when the manager was called and he was quite dismissive of the issues. The fact that it's January 1 - should in no way be an excuse, not sure if it's worth the costs to come back !!

If you're looking for a dinner that feels both elevated and effortlessly relaxed, our recent evening at Smith & Wollensky in South Point Park, Miami Beach was exactly that -- especially with the outdoor seating and that show-stopping steak. Ambience & setting We were seated outside, right on the terrace overlooking the water, and honestly the view sets the mood. You've got shimmering channel waters, yachts/boats drifting by, and the palm-leaf breeze mixing with the glow of the patio lights -- it feels like "Miami magic" minus the nightclub chaos.: It's worth noting: the outdoor tables are first-come, first-serve. We arrived a little early to catch golden-hour light and it absolutely paid off--dinner with that warm sunset glow added something special. The star of the meal: the tomahawk We opted for the tomahawk steak and wow--it delivered. Thick, richly marbled, with a dramatic presentation (yes, that big bone and all). The flavors hit just right: char on the outside, perfectly pink inside, juicy, and satisfying in that "this is a landmark steak dinner" way. We paired it with a few sides and generous bread/butter to start. Everything worked together. End with the chocolate cake which is rhetorical largest slice of cake you will ever see. Service & extras Service was polished but not overly formal -- the kind of attentiveness you hope for without feeling stiff. Our waiter checked timing carefully (especially given the larger cut we'd ordered) and gave good pacing between courses. Also, the outdoor water-view setting naturally invites more of a relaxed pace -- we lingered, enjoyed our drinks, and the night breeze made it easy to stay at the table longer. Things to keep in mind / for next time * Get outside if you can. If the weather cooperates, the patio beats the indoors for ambiance. Just arrive early or plan to hang while you wait. * Be prepared for premium pricing. Large cuts like the tomahawk come with the steakhouse price tag; you're paying for the view + the cut. * Parking/valet can add up. Being at South Point Park & Miami Beach means parking/valet may be extra. * Reserve inside, but ask about outdoor. We reserved for inside but requested outdoor; while we got lucky, it's hit-or-miss being placed outside since it's first-come. * Dress accordingly. While not ultra-formal, a smart-casual look fits the setting nicely (you don't want to feel under-dressed for waterfront steak dinner). Bottom line If you're in Miami Beach and want a steak dinner that feels like an event -- outstanding cut (the tomahawk), gorgeous outdoor setting, waterfront breeze -- Smith & Wollensky checks all the boxes. Sit outside, order big, and savor the moment.

This is a Miami classic. the restaurant is very beautiful inside, and the seating outside is beautiful, right on the water, at south pointe. Our waiters were very friendly. Almost immediately they brought out buttery salt bread that was delicious. We started with the shrimp cocktail appetizer with delicious plump shrimp. The accompaniments were what you get when you order oysters: the cocktail sauce and the mignonette. It was delicious on top of shrimp. For mains we all had salads and added on tenderloin tips. The tips lacked flavor. i had to add salt and i rarely need to do this. they also were all overcooked. i ordered mine medium rare but it was completely grey inside. for a steakhouse, this is disappointing. They apologized with a huge slice of chocolate cake was DEVINE. i would recommend coming for cocktails and apps and enjoying the beautiful views.

Truly wanted to give this a 5 stars but something was just off about the steak and tuna, I am not a chef but my taste buds say sometimes less is more and I truly think both were too over seasoned. The carb cake however was excellent, love the sauce. The bread was nice and warm, the fries and spinach were also great. Before being seated we were standing there waiting because the host seemed busy but then she got back and we felt invisible, once seated the staff was friendly, a bit slow but friendly. Inside outdoors seating, fine dining experience. Truly think that Smith & Wollensky is a gem in South Point Miami Beach, such a great location and history but I think they can up their game because with such high prices the food and service needs improving for a better customer experience. Cheers though.

Service, drinks and ambiance A++++!!! Why have I not come here sooner?!! OMG, an incredible view from the outdoor bar and inside it feels like an old school steak house! I'll definitely be back for an all around dinner with the family!

Smith & Wollensky is an iconic steakhouse located south of 5th St. on the beach. I came here for a graduation party and the food, service, and ambiance did not disappoint. We were a group of 35 and dined indoors on the main floor with a beautiful view of the cruise ships leaving Port of Miami and awesome people watching right out of our window. We started the evening with a drink from the outdoor bar area and it was lively with quick service. I opted for the mojito and it was refreshing, although not as strong as I like my mojitos. Our group had the pre-fixed menu. For my appetizer, I went with the Caesar salad, which was fresh. The main course I went with the filet mignon, medium rare, and it was a little too "rare" for my liking but still amazing. For dessert, I went with the coconut cake, and it was very fresh and a huge serving. Pro Tip: Valet is cheaper ($15) then regular parking and worth it!

Impressive! From the wait staff to even the disposable towels in the restroom. Everything was so amazing. The bread, phenomenal. The filet mignon and Maine lobster tail. WOW. Smoked pineapple, interesting! Chocolate cake. Seriously good. Can't beat lunch by the water. Beautiful views and delicious food with kind customer service. Just beautiful.

Was trying to make a reservation, is high top seating considered outdoors?

This establishment does not have high top seating outdoors. It's an awesome restaurant tho.

    Is the inside bar open?

Hello, Both : inside and outdoor bars remain closed for now.…

When is it less busy on a Sunday?

    Do they have kids menu?

    No they did not. 😭

Do men need to wear sport coats?

Definitely not. More beach casual during the day and at night people just dress nice. No tie no cost required.

Is this a good place to go to watch the Oscars tomorrow night?

The outside bar has a few flat panel TVs. Not huge TVs but OK to see who won. Unsure if they will or can turn the volume up on these TVs.

    How's the parking the parking?

Hi Laronda, They have valet parking also there is plenty of metered parking around since this restaurant is inside a public park. Enjoy it !!!

Unfortunately, neither lived up to expectations. We started with the "jumbo" wings, which were anything but jumbo. We received only flats, and they were some of the smallest wings I've ever been served. After bringing this to the staff's attention, we were told the manager would take 50% off the order. However, when the bill arrived, we were informed that the manager had already left and the discount could no longer be honored. Instead, we were given only the $4 happy hour discount, despite being promised otherwise. For our entrées, we ordered the brisket sandwich and the half chicken. Neither was worth ordering. The chicken lacked the crispy texture it was advertised to have, and the brisket was bland and without flavor. The sandwich was also supposed to come with truffle fries, but instead we were served cold, plain fries. After mentioning it, the solution was to bring us a side of truffle oil and Parmesan cheese and ask us to mix it ourselves. The service was equally disappointing. We asked our server twice for drink refills, but she never brought them. We eventually had to flag down another server just to get our beverages refilled. Overall, this was a frustrating dining experience from start to finish. Between the poor-quality food, unfulfilled promises regarding the bill, and inattentive service, this restaurant fell well below the standard I would expect from a Miami establishment. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves one. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues because the current level of food quality and customer service is simply unacceptable. and quality is embarrassing for miami.

We chose it to celebrate our first wedding anniversary on the 4th of July, and it did not meet the bar, not on the food, and certainly not on hospitality. I have had better service at a casual bistro, and I genuinely don't understand how this place earned a star and the reviews that come with it. We did the nine-course tasting. To be fair, several courses were genuinely good. The yellowtail (course 1) and the oyster (course 2) were strong openers. The gusher (course 5), built around jalapeño, was a highlight, and the truffle popper was excellent. A few others were close but undercut by a heavy hand: the agnolotti was very good on its own, but the cream was so rich and so excessive that it buried the dish. The wagyu was fine once I set the sauce aside, though the cut itself lacked the marbling and melt you'd expect from real wagyu. From there it fell apart. The halibut was so overcooked we couldn't eat it. The foie gras was served cold and rock solid, impossible to spread on the toast as instructed, when it should have been brought to a soft, butter-like texture beforehand. The dessert was overwhelmingly sweet. The cocktails had the same problem. I ordered a tomato cocktail that should have been savory and instead came out cloying, over-sweetened with sweet vermouth and yellow chartreuse to the point that the savory character was lost entirely. The hospitality was worse than the food. I noted in our reservation that we were celebrating our first anniversary. The maître d' said "happy anniversary" when we arrived, and that was the beginning and end of it. At a starred restaurant, on an occasion you've flagged in advance, you'd expect a little more care. Instead our server was absent for most of the night. We had to flag down other staff simply to order more drinks, and we ordered four cocktails and two glasses of wine over the evening, so the fault wasn't a quiet table. The most telling moment was the recovery, or the total absence of one. When we sent back the inedible halibut, the server said it shouldn't have happened and moved on. Nothing followed. At this level, how a kitchen and floor handle a mistake matters more than the mistake itself. A comped course, or even a small pour of wine or champagne, is the expected gesture. We were offered nothing. The room didn't help. The restaurant was nearly empty, and the air conditioning was running so cold that I was uncomfortable for much of the meal. There were bright spots, and I want to be fair about them. But for a starred, tasting-menu experience, and for an anniversary we chose this place to mark, the evening fell short on nearly every measure a star is meant to represent. I'd encourage anyone looking for a special meal to consider one of Miami's other Michelin spots instead.

Happy hour clocks in at $12 for food, $12 for all house cocktails, $10 spritzes, and a flat $6 for all beer, which in Miami Beach feels almost suspicious in the best way possible. I kept it simple with an ice cold Peroni while my wife went for the Giardino 75, a gorgeous little spritz built on Empress Indigo Gin, St. Germain, mint, lime, and prosecco. She loved it. The color alone was worth the ten bucks, but it actually drank as good as it looked. For food we shared the Bolognese Grilled Cheese and let me tell you, this thing punches well above its $12 price tag. Thick cut brioche toast, griddled until the edges go deep golden brown, stacked over a rich slow simmered bolognese with cheese pulling through every bite. Dusted with parmesan and fresh herbs, plated with cherry tomato skewers that added a nice little pop of acidity. Comfort food dressed up for a night out. Service was attentive and easy, drinks came quick, plates came hot, and nobody made us feel rushed even sitting through happy hour. The room itself has that playful Sicilian energy with the Moor head planters and bright touches throughout, which fits the vibe of the menu perfectly. Would I make a special trip back to Miami Beach for it? Probably not from Fort Myers, but if you're already in the area during happy hour, this is one of the better values you'll find on the beach. Solid four stars. Good drinks, good food, great specials, and service that actually showed up.

The decor, music, and food all come together in a way that feels effortless, authentic, and chill. I stumbled in while out on a walk, and it instantly felt like home, my own Latin, artistic retreat. We stopped in mid-afternoon for a late lunch and were greeted right away. The hostess offered patio or indoor seating and thoughtfully let us know there was active construction nearby that would make the patio pretty noisy the entire time. That honesty was appreciated, we chose to sit inside so we could actually enjoy conversation. The space itself is beautiful, quaint, colorful, and perfectly in tune with that relaxed Miami Beach, art deco vibe without feeling overwhelming. It instantly felt like a calm beachside escape. When our server came over, I asked about gluten-free options. The menu had an indication of gluten-free options available but he went a step further and explained they offer a gluten-free bagel-style bread substitute, which made navigating the menu so much easier. I ordered the avocado with poached eggs (served on the gluten-free bagel thin), and it was incredible. The eggs were cooked perfectly, yolk bursting just right, and topped with fresh arugula and herbs that made every bite flavorful and fresh. Presentation was just as beautiful as the taste. My coworker had the grilled cheese and fries and loved every bite as well. Food came out quickly, everything was delicious, and the experience felt easy and thoughtful from start to finish. Huge bonus: they serve brunch-style options all day until 4pm, which is perfect when you're traveling or craving breakfast at unconventional hours. Finding a spot like this in the heart of Miami Beach on a Wednesday afternoon felt like a win. We would absolutely come back!
