I came in here for a snack and found the interior to be a delightful surprise - how charming! The brightly colored painted walls and lights made it so bright, cheery, warm, and welcoming. The service here was focused, professional, and kind. I loved how our food was brought out on a charming tray and our server removed each individual item with care and patience. It was a quaint experience to end our night with. I was also surprised at the culinary experience. We did not order much, as it was only meant to be a snack. I felt that they went above and beyond to complete our dining experience. The food felt very homemade in the best way possible - it was homey and comforting. The bread that covered the spinach pie (which was way larger than I was expecting) was fluffy, filling, warm, and just out of this world. The ideal bread experience! I am personally not a fan of the chicken shawarma here - it was reminiscent of street food/the Halal guys in the sense that it was more boiled meat than shawarma meat.. but the garlic sauce was uhhhmazing, as was the hot sauce, which was spicy with a hint of a sweet aftertaste. I am not a huge fan of soda, but if you have not tried Vimto, it is a MUST try. It complemented our food so well and I was beyond satisfied with this purchase. Whenever we are going through OC we try to grab a shish tawouk wrap. The hummus is perfect, their fresh made in house bread makes a difference. Chicken marinated and cooked perfectly. Truly a hidden gem in Brookhurst. I'm Lebanese and come here for some comfort food. They make the BEST chicken tawouk sandwiches, so we always come here for those. This time we tried the fattoush and lahme bajeen, both tasted amazing! I always come back for the tawouk sandwich with their yummy toum, but def want to try the grape leaves next time I visit. This is not located in the best possible strip of businesses and is more like a hole in the wall type of restaurant. But the food is authentic Lebanese and very good and very fresh. Their Mandi is excellent as well as kabobs and baked Chicken etc. The first time I tried them was during the month of Ramadhan when they offer an all you can eat buffet for $25 per person. The food was plentiful and there was a nice variety of appetizers and three different types of soups, cream of mushroom was the best amongst them. Taking a Star away from them due to a few issues that I would like to bring to their attention and I hope that they are reading these comments. First of all the appetizers were brought out on the buffet table about 40 minutes before iftaar time and were not covered, as a result the baked and fried items became ice cold due to the very cool breeze blowing that evening. Second, the lady at the counter treats everyone as a suspect. Maybe because they had bad experiences due to their location in the past. We were made to feel like that we were going to eat and then make a run for it without paying. They charge you money before you sit down, which I guess is fine.. and then they give you a plate and a bowl for soup. She told us that it was the only way for them to know, who has paid or not (by looking at the plate in front of each person seated) However they don't give our extra plates for the buffet. That is a big no, even when COVID-19 was not around. It is general restaurant etiquette that a fresh plate be made available every time a customer goes back for food. Coming back to the food, again it was of very high quality and the taste was very good. I have been to Lebanese restaurants all over the US and this is by far one of the top few places that I can recall. Came here after Disneyland late night at around 11pm (this place is open until 12am). We ordered Mandi and it was delicious - a huge portion with rice, lamb shank and then some, a side of yogurt with dill/cucumber. Our friends ordered sandwich wraps in Pita and loved it as well. The burger was OK not juicy - but service was great and the Mandi more than made up for the quality of the cheese burger. The portion size was huge - three people could have easily shared it, my husband and I shared and we couldn't finish it. Mandi, burger, and drink was ~$30 Great place for a late night dinner. Make sure you look at the bill before you pay. Ordered 3 different plates to go with no rice. One usually comes with chicken and 2 with lamb. I found out that they did add the chicken and still charged full price and today when i went over the bill breakdown with the owner i found out that i was over charged 8$. We called 6 restaurants in the LA area to order a custom off the menu tray of mansaf (lamb, rice, and yogurt meal) with only sudden notice for same day and were refused by all of them except the Al Wadee team. We didn't know know exactly what to expect when we arrived to pick it up but it certainly was not the incredibly perfect tray of layered bread, rice nuts, and roast lamb that was laid before us. We were provided with containers full of the special jameed yogurt and plenty of plates and utensils to go with it. When we got home, 12 adults dived into this tray and only managed to consume 2/3rds of it. Without exception, everyone agreed that it was the most succulent and best mansaf we've ever had. No amount of gratitude can fully express our appreciation for this beautiful gift. Thank you so much to the Al Wadee team. You all are a credit to the LA area!!! read more

This is the Kabob plate untouched....It is 14 dollars and this is the amount of meat you get. I have never gone to a place that has given me less, and I suggest you don't either. Al Wadees is a family owned halal restaurant which is A GREAT BIG PLUS. Not only that but the food is so fresh and very tasty. The different time's I've been here the ladies at the register who take the order have always been nice, including the men in the back which I assume is a cook. They always seem so humble and we really like that. I haven't tried everything on their menu but all the thing's I've tried so far are delicious FALAFEL WRAPS are super yummy just add siracha sauce mmm. And the pita bread it's wraped in is larger then most other's I've had at other places. (PLUS THEIR PITA BREADS ARE MADE ON THE SPOT, IN THE OVEN WHICH IS VISIBLE TO ALL) HAMBURGERS another huge hit on my list. They literally taste freshly delicious and homemade. So far this is my to go halal place whenever I am craving burgers. PIZZAS they are made from pita bread crust FYI. But I actually really enjoy them it's something new plus that's how I am use to making them at home too lol. They have lot's of varieties including nutella pizza which I have yet to try. I did try the egg and cheese pizza which seems pretty unique and good, but don't order this as your main meal because you won't get full. Plates with lamb, chicken, beef, rice and salad and side of pitta bread is a great plate I also recommend and have enjoyed plenty of time's. FYI: YOU MUST ORDER THE FOOD AT THE REGISTER THEN SIT AND LASTLY PAY BEFORE YOU LEAVE. I really recommend this place even if the outside or it's surroundings don't look super inviting or alive. The food was very bad .. and surprisingly they charged me almost $25 for a chicken plate and a small bottle of water .. I dunno where else in the world you would pay $ 25 of a microwaved 1/2 chicken that tasted like shit. And the staff were not wearing masks .. the cook and the cashier.. I was very disappointed on this restaurant as I went with my family members to celebrate my birthday. The food taste was less than average and you order and they just bring the food on the table , that's it. Their briyani flavored kabsa was awful. Anyone can make a better one just watching YouTube. Never ask them the direction of kabaa, they will misguide you. Apart from this, the most heinous act was when they by force charged me 15% tip just for bringing the food on the table. They charged without the service. Here is States we tip for the service, I guess they don't know that,what a shame. You can charge a flat tip if it's 10 plus people and it is written on a board like most restaurants.
