I confirmed that our prepaid VIP cards would work before hanging up. Drive 20 minutes to get there, now it looks run down and dingy. And upon arrival, they refused to take the VIP cards. Apparently new ownership, and I have to reach out to the previous owners to discuss the pre-payment that I'm owed. Lied to get us there and hope we pay anyway? Language barrier? Either way, we prefer The Spa and Massage on Decatur. So we left and are paying more for quality.

I was visiting family and knew I needed to get this taken care of ASAP. I looked up spas that were close by and found Refresh Massage just down the street. I booked my appointment online for the following hour. When I arrived, I was greeted by Brian (?) who said Sara would be just a moment. The lobby was very clean. They have a menu of services listed along with a note of which services they do not...it was amusing and disturbing that they needed to acknowledge these "requests." Sara came out and showed me to a clean, tidy room. I wasn't sure of which service I needed and after discussing it with her it was decided that the Focus massage would be the best. She did my neck and shoulders over a thin sheet which was not uncomfortable. Towards the end she did use some oil on my neck. She used the perfect amount of pressure for me and she was very kind. When I got back to the house, my daughter mentioned that she goes to Refresh Massage and asks for Sara...She was at work when I made the appointment so I wasn't able to consult her prior. :-) I was very pleased with my experience and I would highly recommend this spa! The therapists I've worked with have always been knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely attentive. They take the time to listen to my concerns before each session and tailor the treatment accordingly. I always leave feeling significantly better than when I walked in, and that's why I've remained a loyal customer for so many years. Unfortunately, I recently learned that IMR is now charging a 3% surcharge for credit card payments, and I have to say, it really annoys me. In today's world, paying with a credit card is the norm, and accepting those processing fees has traditionally just been part of the cost of doing business. Seeing that expense passed directly on to loyal customers, especially members, was disappointing. I truly enjoy supporting this business and would much rather continue my membership, but this new surcharge has honestly made me question whether I want to keep it. It's unfortunate because the quality of the massages has never been the issue. I sincerely hope they reconsider this policy, because it's the one thing that's making me think twice about continuing as a member.

I let Linda know that I'm pretty sensitive when it comes to pressure, and though there were a few times that the pressure did feel a little too strong for me, she did adjust once I reminded her that I'd prefer a lighter touch. I really enjoyed the stretching portion of the massage, it helped me to relax more deeply. There were times that the room did feel a bit chilly at times, and for some reason though a certain area was not being worked on there were times I was not covered so that made me feel colder some of the massage. Over all I feel Linda did a really nice job and though there were times it did feel uncomfortable, I did leave with a lot less tension and I felt so sleepy and ready for a nap which is a great sign of nervous system reset. My daughter also enjoyed her massage with Weeya, and said she also felt so tired and relaxed after. The ambiance of this space is very relaxing, minimal and clean. Booked a 10:15 AM appointment for my sister and me and got the special: $130 for two 60-minute massages. We were warmly greeted by Connie, Tony, and ShiShi. The massage room was clean, smelled great, and had calming music playing . The massage itself was AMAZING--deep pressure, strong hands, and incredibly relaxing.
