Dr. Peck is my guardian angel. When I went to see Dr. Peck, a year ago, I was a mess. I mentioned to her that my primary care was not very thorough, so I am looking for a new one. My cholesterol levels were extremely high, and my kidney function was poor. I was borderline diabetic and obese. She ordered test after test until I started to get everything under control. My cholesterol is normal, and my kidneys are improving. I'm no longer borderline diabetic, and I've lost 40 pounds. I have a new Primary Care Doctor due to her referral. As an endocrinologist, her care should have ended there. Not with me; she continues to see me for matters that don't even concern her. She has a particular field of expertise but still monitors every aspect of my health. She's given me back my life and so much more. I am the healthiest I have ever been. I feel and look great. Dr Peck is a well-respected endocrinologist who specializes in treating both Type I ,Type II diabetes and thyroid disease.

Dr. Peck is the best endocrinologist I have seen. She is personable and articulate. She appears to keep up on all the latest developments in endocrinology. She is not judgmental about her patients. One thing she's great about is the speed in which she will return a message from you through the patient e-portal. She's also very good about seeing patients in a timely fashion. I haven't had to wait too long in the exam room. I hope she is my doctor for many years to come. read more

After seeing over 5 different endocrinologist over a 10 year period, Dr Peck is soooo unbelievable. She is extremely reliable and very thorough. I never wait over 10-15 minutes to be seen. Despite having regular thyroid panel test results, I was sick for a long time. Dr. Peck helped my troubleshoot what might be wrong and helped me get better. She carefully monitored my endocrine function throughout my pregnancy and was kind enough to put up with messages at all hours that I sent in a panic, by responding to them promptly. I'm leaving California and I'm praying that the laws surrounding the location of a doctor or patient change so that I do not have to find a different provider. Dr. Marcia Peck is a very accommodating , very knowledgeable doctor in her field. She takes time in talking to her patients and explaining their health condition. My husband and I have been going to her for at least 3-4 years now and I have recommended her at least 2 or 3 of my diabetic friends. She has worked with us in dealing with our diabetic issues. She sits down & explain test results to us and what we should do lower our A1C or cholesterol. She aso acts as our NutritionistMost recently she recommended that I see a well known Hepatologist Dr. Holt in San Francisco because I have a liver condition .He asked me who recommended that I see him. I told him Dr. Peck did. He said she's a very good doctor & concerned about her patients. Great doctor and we highly recommend her. read more

I'd worked with three different endocrinologists to manage my diabetes before meeting Dr Peck, and though all of them were good, Dr. Peck is the best. I learned more about how different factors impact my blood sugar from Dr. Peck than all three previous doctors combined. She spends the time to answer all of my questions and is clearly dedicated. When I had to cancel appointments, she followed up with me to make sure I rescheduled and that everything was going well rather than waiting for me to follow up. During my pregnancy, she was available between appointments to answer questions and some times double booked me or saw me on her lunch hour or before her regular work hours to make sure I got in frequently enough to keep my blood sugars on track. She's wonderful! Also, her office moved to a new location at the end of 2012. The new building's set up is much more streamlined and efficient so I've experienced a lot fewer instances of waiting 10-20 minutes for my appointment as I did in the previous office. read more

I just had my first appointment with Dr. Peck. I am so glad that I met her! She listens to you, she talks to you about the courses of actions and pros and cons of each so that you can decide what is best, and is really on top of things. I do have to say that her office does overbook though. I got a last minute cancellation time slot for 9:10am and she didnt actually come in to see me until 9:50am -- 40 min late. Dr. Peck is an excellent doctor. I'm being treated for Type 2 Diabetes. She is very informed, up-to-date with latest treatments, caring and listens well. She is a professional and personal delight. Knowledgeable and thorough. She knows what patient care is... I was hospitalized for sepsis and she appeared in my hospital room out of the blue... I saw Marcia Peck because I had too many symptoms of hypothyroidism and was referred to her by my internist. She ordered a round of expensive tests and then, because my results were in the "normal" range, ignored my symptoms and told me to come back if they didn't improve or got worse. How would she know what's "normal" for me? What a waste of time and my insurance company's money. I found Dr. Linfoot in Lafayette and he had the common sense to try me on some thyroid medication. Magically, my symptoms disappeared during the next couple of months. read more

I saw Dr. Peck a few times last year for type 1. She didn't make much eye contact and was glued to her computer. She wasn't very warm or friendly, didn't seem to be interested in learning about me as a person. She told me one thing, but then presented me with another. Many factors can affect blood sugar, but she didn't seem to accept that concept, it was like I was guilty until proven innocent. She also said b/c of low blood sugars, I am increasing my risk of getting Dementia. Obviously getting news like that is alarming, but she said it so casually. I left the office crying. I met Dr. Peck for the first time yesterday afternoon. I was thoroughly impressed with her. She took the time to talk to me in great detail about my history with Thyroid disease and how to better ensure the efficacy of the medication I take for hypothyroidism. Unfortunately, I was assigned to Dr Peck after my previous dr left the practice. My initial consultation with her consisted of her accusing my previous doctor of not following up on my labs. Ahead of my 2nd appointment, she failed to respond to my messages and then advised that the ones she missed weren't "routed properly." The irony is that she failed to follow up on the labs that she ordered 3 months ago despite her earlier criticism of my previous physician. I also know that she didn't view the results because the system only releases them after the doctor views them. When I inquired about her oversight, she said that "not everyone is a good fit" and asked what I expected of her. I told her that I erroneously expected the same professionalism and empathy that I received from that department previously. She operates like a robot. The visits were a complete waste of time as she failed to read my file before my appointments and complained that she "spent 30 minutes on me during my last visit!" She was late to both appointments, so her lack of timekeeping is not my issue. Additionally, I had a new diagnostic image that my surgeon told me to bring to her attention and not only did she ignore it, she said that my symptoms weren't consistent with thyroid disease and that she wouldn't treat me. Mind you, I have goiter, nodules, loss of hair, weight changes, constitution changes, tremors, pain in neck, jaw and ears... She didn't bother to physically examine me or explain why my previous dr thought my symptoms were related, but that she independently disagrees. She said I should see a rheumatologist instead, the one that she didn't realize that I've been seeing for over a decade. She's not qualified to be in the position she's holding. read more

I've been Dr. Peck's patient for about 4 months. During our first appointment, she mentioned of several facts about my medical history; Dr Peck had clearly reviewed my medical record in detail - not just "looked it over." Her comprehensive and thorough approach give me great confidence in the medical treatment she provides me. I am often judged for being diabetic (a condition that has been in my family for generations) and I am sorry to say that this judgement often occurs within the medical community. Dr. Peck always treats me with respect and care. Dr. Peck is clearly very intelligent - I always want my doctor to be the smartest person in any room. Dr. Peck's practice is very busy - but she is more than worth the wait. I don't mind waiting a little longer for an appointment because I receive excellent care once I arrive. And. she has accommodated me with special appointments due to my long work hours and commute. I feel much better about my health now that I am Dr. Peck's patient. read more

She is very impersonal and doesn't seem to have the patients best interests in mind. Her visits are quoted as 20 minute sessions where they will weigh you and take your blood pressure. They will take your, in my case, insulin pump and print out the graphs (which you can do at your house yourself) and that's about it. Previous endocrinology doctors of mine, which I had taken for granted apparently, would go further than that and would check feet/toes, eyes, fingers, respiratory, and heart beats for regularity. Dr. Peck did nothing but the minimum, and when your 20 minutes was up she would quickly hurry off to her next appointment. If you have the choice of choosing your own doctor, I would avoid Dr. Peck. If you need to re-schedule your appointment because of a conflicting work schedule, etc. then expect your next appointment to be 2+ months later. read more

I went to her first when I was diagnosed diabetic, and she went out of her way to explain things to me, and even called me a few days later just to check in. I have always found her to be patient and willing to answer any questions or concerns. read more

I have been to many diabetic specialists but none have been as effective as Dr. Peck. I met Dr. peck during a hospital stay at Eden Hospital in Castro Valley, CA. She treated me in the hospital and followed up in her office. I have multiple medical condition including diabetic gastroparesis, Dr. peck is the first doctor to get me a specialist in this area as well as follow up with my heart condition due to bypass surgery. She got me approved for the insulin pump as well as specialist needed for my medical needs. She is very through and does extensive monitoring. I would highly recommend Dr. Peck to any/all my friends and family. Dr. Peck was also recommended to me from a friend after my first encounter with her, which just prompted me to obtain her. read more

I do not recommend. I seen her about for over four years and never been able to control my thyroid when I attend appointments always she is late and she never know anything about your studies and also when i call her she is never avaliable to answer she say can i give a call back and she is never call me and when i go to the appoinments the only think she can say its im so sorry I do not feel like she is listening to my she does not care what do you tell. I tell my symptoms and she says it's normal she did not care about the health of their patients.
