It's been 7 years the only time i am disappointed is when they don't have buffalo chicken slices up, other than that everything is excellent. Hands down, this is my official lunch spot and has been for about a year now. I usually get either a steak sub, chicken fingers or one of the many slice chooses that they offer. I never heard of this place until yesterday, when I tripped and the lasagna that I had just made for a big party fell all over the kitchen floor. What to do? I googled "Lasagna, New Haven," and up came Marco Polo. So I called and explained my situation. "You're in luc k," he said. The guy had just taken a big tray of lasagna out of his oven and he sold it to me---meaning that he had no lasagna to sell to his regular customers that night. When I picked it up , I could see that he had a good number of different pizzas out on the counter for sale by the piece, all of which looked interesting and tasty. Beware that if they make a mistake on your delivery order they may promise to come back, only to call 90 minutes later to tell you they are too busy to return with the corrected order. The reason for this poor review is because of the poor service. If you are ordering online for delivery make sure that your food is what you ordered before the delivery person leaves. My meal was supposed to come with chicken (which I had to pay extra for) and they neglected to include the chicken with my meal. I called to inquire about it and they told me that they would call me back. I waited an hour with no response and finally called them back. The best that they could do for me was to credit me back for the chicken on my next order. Suffice it to say there won't be a next order. Please order from some other restaurant in New Haven. I have visited this location fairly regularly for the last 7 years and the quality has definitely gone down hill in the past year or so. Their seems to be 1 or 2 new staff members that seem to be the cause of the drop in quality. Value wise, this place is a favorite for me. Their pasta dinners come with a good size salad and garlic knots and large pasta portions. They have great chicken cutlets too. Their pizza (when you get it fresh) is also excellent. One of the new staff members is not very friendly. Seems annoyed to be there. More then once he screwed up an order i placed. I have also been getting inconsistently heated dinners and dried out pasta on occasion. I'll still dine here, just not as often as previously. read more

I go to Marco Polo pretty much every day. When I'm in a rush, I usually just order a couple of pizza slices to go, and those ought to be the largest, tastiest slices I've ever had. However, when I have some extra time, I go for the pasta. For some reason, not a lot of people know about their pasta. But as someone who's lived in New Haven for over five years and has been to every restaurant here, I can say that this is the best pasta in town. What I like about Marco Polo is not only the quality of the food, but the diversity. There are like 12 different pasta options you can pick from.
