I love Marcucci's! I also love Marzilli's. I usually go to the one that is easier to park at that day. Anyway, the prices are really good. I think it is only $3.50 for a small sub, I prefer Italian, and $7.00 for a large. The large is gigantic. You could cut it up and probably serve 4-5 people with it. A true Fall Riverite knows the difference and has a preference when it comes to Marcucci's vs. Marzilli's. I'm a hardcore Marcucci's girl. This is the ideal summer meal, perfect for the beach or picnic. They make the best grinders (not a sub, not a hoagie, a GRINDER) in the USA. You can't go wrong with a traditional Italian. I really enjoy the turkey and cheese. Besides their grinders, they make excellent bakery pizza. For dessert try the rice pudding (they make it very well) or the custard cups. The prices are so low you can really go crazy, so go for the large sub get a bunch of pizzas and you'll have enough food for the whole day and still money in your pocket. The chicken parm grinder was great, and not only were the prices great, but so wasn't the size of the grinder, which the medium was more like a large. Service could've been a little friendly but they were pretty busy so I get it. read more

This used to be my favorite place to buy sandwiches in Fall River and as recently as two years ago I was good for 2-3 visits each week. The staff was friendly and helpful and the sandwiches were great and reasonably priced. Not sure what forced the substantial staff turnover, but the atmosphere and general quality has deteriorated substantially. The last three times I called, I was put on hold and after waiting 10+ minutes (each time) my call was never picked up. The first time I had other things to do and left it at that. Last time I went in and politely explained to a young woman what happened, who responded that she wasn't there last time I called. Today when the same thing happened, I went back and the same young woman told me the phone wasn't on hold and that she just got there (though it was clearly her who answered the call), then proceeded to go do other things. This shop used to have a 'family feel' to it, though in recent years it's just a number of employees with no apparent personal investment who seem (and act) consistently stressed and annoyed by their jobs and the customers. It is true it stays busy (at least for the time being), so I'm not suggesting they aren't working hard, but the atmosphere has become tense and miserable and the customer service is virtually non-existent. After having been a loyal customer for more than 20 yrs and having given this shop every opportunity following turnover to return to greatness, I'm genuinely sad to say I've had enough. read more

Nice little spot to grab super cheap, simple, GIANT grinders. Their go-to grinder is the classic italian with fresh meats, cheeses, and bread. (If you want condiments, they are extra) Very friendly girls behind the counter. Some words of wisdom though... Either call your order in ahead or be prepared to wait, and bring cash because they kick it old school style. read more

Awesome. Been going here since I was a kid. Grinders and home made pizza are top notch. Now I bring my daughter here and she loves the food too. Especially the custard cups. I have been to other places that serve similar food but you cannot beat the prices and quality of the food. Owners and employees are great and always smiling. read more

The grinders here are awesome! So is the chourice (spelling??) pizza. The pizza is a little bit unconventional but full of flavor. The grinders are big and taste great. The only downside is I eat too much but that is my own fault. So yummy! I wish they had one on the west coast! read more

their red pizza is to die for.. great crust and they put a lot of sauce on the pizza and it is delicious!! Kale soup is good but could use a little more stock.. their custard cups are great.. I do not like the fact that if you order a 1/2 sheet you get it in an open cardboard tray covered with foil and paper. This is fine if you are going to eat it the day you buy it. If you order 1/4 sheet you get it in a nice white bakery box.. almost like you are being punished for ordering more.. not sure what you get if you order a full sheet. The prices are good .. The staff is rather curt..but who cares, to me this is a take out place. read more

I moved to Fall River for the summer and decided to try Marcuccis. For some reason I was expecting a traditional Italian bakery (obviously not realizing the riv is primarily Portuguese). The line was very long but moved quickly. I highly recommend calling your order in if you want something on the weekend. I was a bit overwhelmed when it was my turn to order. I wanted just a sandwich with prosciutto, mozzarella, basil and balsamic. The woman looked at me like I was crazy and said they didn't have prosciutto or mozzarella. This was surprising to me because this place is a deli too that sells cold cuts so I was a little confused as to how they wouldn't have prosciutto. Feeling flustered and unsure of what to get, I did what every single person in front of me did and ordered the italian. I assumed it came with everything already on it so was very surprised when I got home to find only meat and cheese on bread (no sauce, veggies, etc.) Apparently you have to tell them EXACTLY what you want on the sandwich. I feel like as a new customer, that's something they should have told me. All of that aside, the sandwich was good and tasted very fresh. I'm looking forward to moving to Fall River soon & this place is one of the reasons why. In Fall River, there are many small family owned places that serve up deliciousness at bargain prices. As we've been looking at properties, we've been discovering these treasures of the past that keep it real & keep prices low with excellent quality. Twice so far I've been here & I feel like I time traveled back to the 80's to get these deals. Meatball/Sausage combo, Italian w/ mixed peppers, Tuna, & Roast Beef are just a few of the awesomely tasty, massive subs we shared among our fam. The bread is outstanding, has a nice chew to it & the fillings are perfection so far, even considering the somewhat weird pricing on standard toppings like lettuce, pickle, tomatoes. I'm sure it's done to keep "base" prices down for those who like simple grinders. Anyway, I don't care how or why it's done, the place is just plain amazing & so are their offerings. Also tried the little square sicilian pizza slices & brownies & cookies. I don't think you could even make anything they sell here at home as cheaply as they sell them here so just go & try it & you'll love it. read more

Delicious subs that are huge and very inexpensive, you can split a large sub between four people. My recommendations are the steak and cheese and the Italian, but I'm sure everything is good. I have never been disappointed when getting a sub at Marcuccis, the fresh bread and ingredients make the subs worth making a drive for! read more

I hate that this place only except cash... It's 2017 come on. Anyway, I've never been here and purchased a grinder without the mixed peppers on the side without the container leaking all over the paper bag, same with mac salad. This is annoying. Also the bread is a bit hard. read more

Marcucci's is one of the best places to get a grinder, Everything is fresh from the bread to the meat. I did see a few complaints on here but they complained about things that were their own fault. If you don't order extras like lettuce and tomato, or mustard or mayo or heated, then don't expect them and I also doubt anyone has ever said they have great clam chowder. People shouldn't drop stars from their rating because of their lack of ordering common sense This isn't a pizza joint where grinders are heated to hide stale bread, and you don't pick what you want on it by looking through glass. Marcucci's gives you a good grinder at a good price even with extras. Read the menu and tell them what you want on it, always ask for your cheese on the bottom if your grinder is heated and you'll have a good sandwich.I know my Marcucci/Marzilli reviews are similar but so are the places and food. read more

Marcucci's is better for the simple reason that the bread is made on the premises and is much tastier than Marzilli's. Marzilli's bread (not all) is brought in from Providence already made and shaped and then baked in their ovens (which I find under baked almost raw). Both places have great staff and variety and always a pleasant atmosphere. read more

Love this place and the food!! This is me and my family's go-to place for our Christmas Eve party (italian grinders cut up and the amazing delicious pizza squares that disappear as soon as we place them out on the table...YUMMY!!). And whenever me and my father go to the beach we always pick up an italian grinder to share. You can't beat this place honestly. The only thing is over time their customer service has been slipping a bit and it's as if none of the staff communicate with each other about orders being placed via phone. I've had my fair share of confusion when trying to pick up orders because the person on the other end of the phone decided to write their own interpretation of the name I had given them. And I don't mean misspelling or hearing something that sounds similar...no. They have taken part of my last name and then put my first initial after it. So when I go to pick it up the employee there at the time won't be able to find it when I give my name. That's the only reason I took one star off. Other than that, great place!! read more
