Since my sister and I are not huge Pinot fans, our tasting was geared around whites and roses. All of the wine we tasted was delicious! We were not that familiar with Oregon wines, but found these to be full bodied, with great aromas and wonderful finishes. The location is out of the way and sits up on a hill. You also have the option of staying at the Black Walnut Inn at the vineyard, or the Grange, which is more upscale and offered to Foley members. We did not stay here, but would consider it next time. Our only complaint was that we arrived in early August, and the wildfires in Oregon and Washington affected the air quality and the views. We are likely to go back at a different time of year when that isn't likely to be happening next time.

We did the 1880 Connection to compare wines from Beaune to Oregon and this was an amazing experience. From the start, when we walked in, we were warmly greeted until the time we left, we had an absolutely extraordinary experience. Our host, Connor, was phenomenal. He was exceptionally well-versed and shared a wealth of knowledge about the wine and the estate. Every single wine we tasted was an unforgettable experience in itself. After our tasting, we walked up to the garden on the hill overlooking the vineyards, and the views were simply breathtaking. It was the perfect finale to a wonderful visit. We cannot recommend this place highly enough and definitely want to go back! Thank you to Connor (also Vincent - helped us with our French) for an amazing and fun time.

There were no tastings available, but given the weather we had just driven through to get there, and bc my friend is a certified somm with the CMS, we decided simply to create our own tasting experience from the single pour options made available. Other reviewers have also mentioned it, but when we sought input from the staff to make our initial wine selections, our experience of service was underwhelming. It was frankly a little disappointing given the status and caliber of the house. Gratefully we met Ben who was solidly helpful; he appreciative of our Quest to create a meaningful tasting experience for ourselves, even if we had not been able to score an appointment with a venue host. He was very knowledgeable and spoke to with us without condescension, intelligently answering our questions about the vineyards, wine making processes, and house history. With his help we also learned about some excellent options for dining in the area. Ben poured our selection of four wines and we chose to take the glasses outside on the patio as the rain had stopped. We helped another couple with photos they were trying to take, and then were able to film a few tasting clips against the picturesque back drop of the vineyards. We ordered a serving of the gougères, which came out warm and were delicious. I picked up a bottle of the Zeraphine Pinot Noir for the friend who had recommended the winery, and Mac picked up three bottles including the estate chardonnay, to return to Canada with. All in all a solid self-guided tasting and learning experience.

Two of us a wine tasting, 1 grabbed a glass of red, and the other was there for company and some N/A musings. We also had the charcuterie board and cookies, both of which were good overall. I absolutely adore this spot for having N/A options which on this day was an orange creamsicle inspired slush. Service was really accommodating...since I can be quite the slow sipper at times. They definitely did not make us feel rushed. This is such a picturesque spot and I couldn't help but adore the giant tree with the tire swing in the middle. People were absolutely trekking across the lawn to enjoy it. This is a rather family friendly winery and there were tons of families, a bridal shower, and just folks enjoying the day. Knudsen Vineyards was one of the most meaningful winery experiences I've ever had…read more Our visit went far beyond an incredible wine tasting. We had the opportunity to spend time with Page Knudsen Cowles, whose family helped establish Oregon as one of the world's premier wine regions. She shared the history of her family's vineyard, the realities of running a multi generational business, and how they continue to honor her parents' legacy while moving the winery forward. One of my favorite moments was ending our visit with a private lunch in the beautiful cabin her father built for her mother, a place that now welcomes wine club members. Sitting there while hearing their family's story made us feel like we had been invited into something very special. Between the breathtaking vineyard views, wonderful wines, warm hospitality, yoga overlooking the vines, hiking the property, and the incredible personal stories, this was so much more than a winery visit. It was an experience I'll never forget.

We were greeted by the host who was friendly and gave us a sample as we found our seat on the patio. The patio is fabulous with a beautiful view of the area. We decided not to do a tasting because we wanted to try their Pinot Noir so we each got a glass of a different Pinot and settled in the shade and Beaty with some Oregon grown hazelnuts. The 2022 Backstory was a beautiful and bolder Pinot which I love. It turned out to be my favorite Pinot tasted on our trip. Additionally the host was knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. I like going to wineries where you learn about the wine you are drinking and that was definitely the case here. When I'm back in the area, I will head here first. And we also got the lowdown on the membership!

Furioso Vineyards was the last winery my group of friends visited on our self-guided tour of the…read moreWilliamette Valley, and it was quite the showstopper. Furioso is very modern and hip. Their inside tasting room is beautifully designed, and the high glass walls provide guests sweeping views of the Williamette Valley. They proudly fly the gay pride flag at their property, and I'm pretty sure an employee told me almost half of their staff are members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The customer service here is also exceptional. The weather was beautiful during my group's visit, so we opted to sit outside and enjoy our wines right by the grapevines. There was a sleek water wall right behind us that helped to cool the air around us, allowing us to enjoy the dreamy setting in style and comfort.

SB is the Oregon winery to visit. They have several spaces for tastings, both for members and guests new to SB, indoor and outdoor, kid and dog friendly, with an incredible view of the not only the vineyards but the mountains. They have several small bite food options, the charcuterie or cheese boards are perfectly paired with the tasting menu choices for that day, there was a fresh baked focaccia today that was heaven. Oh and I have not even mentioned the fantastic wines yet. Whether you are a red or white fan, like whole cluster or small, tannins or less tannins, sweet or full bodied reds, you can find them at SB. And that is not to say they make such a variety that they are spread thin cause that's what I would think if I read that. They are meticulous about every wine they make, it's special, has specific flavors, pairs with particular foods well, each year with its vintage that every one has their own favorites of. We have member members for over a decade, their wine, the winery, and the people are the perfect combination.
