My review is for the outside bar, not the restaurant. We chose to look into it but not to eat at the restaurant until, or unless it changes. The last time we were there the 3 piece Fried Chicken dinner had evolved into ONE piece the breast being cut into 3 pieces. BUT we followed a personal tradition we have and actually had a margarita a the Margaritaville bar. It's more expensive a drink than most everyplace else we went to, but it is outdoors....At Broadway on the Beach with all the waterway in front of you. This was worth it!! read more

Sat at the bar, never a big deal for us. But very hard to get attention. When we did it was more like, never mind or took care of it already i.e. ketchup, more napkins. The food just isn't worth what they are charging. Shared/Ordered a club sandwich and it was just cut in half. Very difficult to eat and just fell a part. Too much of just one meat and overwhelming w mayo with no way to cut it. Also, ordered an appetizer which was over cooked. W 2 beers an iced tea bill was almost a $100. Disappointed Visit - Not Worth the Hype I had high hopes for Margaritaville in Myrtle Beach, but unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations. Our table was so wobbly the waiters had a terrible idea to stuff towels under the legs to try to balance it. To make matters worse, the air conditioning was broken. It was unbearably hot inside, which made for a miserable dining experience. Not once did staff apologize or offer any kind of accommodation. And speaking of the staff--rudeness seemed to be the theme of the day. From the hostess to our server, everyone acted like they were doing us a favor by letting us eat there. No warmth, no hospitality, just attitude. Definitely won't be coming back. There are plenty of better spots in Myrtle Beach that actually care about their customers. It's with mixed emotion I write this review as I loved Jimmy Buffet and his music - and still do. But our experience yesterday was so-so. We had a reservation which got us to seats quickly. Drinks were good but it's hard to mess up beer and iced tea. We had a variety of food choices. My husband ordered the hot chicken sandwich and they must have left out-off the "hot" as it was just a plain chicken sandwich. My brother in law got the club sandwich - which was huge and looked like the picture on the menu. He stated it was very good. My sister Had the grilled chicken sandwich and said it was good. My granddaughter had the cheeseburger and it was good- maybe a bit overcooked despite asking for it to be medium but came out well done. I ordered the fire cracker shrimp and mashed potatoes - which I realize is an odd choice! That said, the shrimp were great but potatoes were sent back as cold only to be returned in a hot bowl but still cold. Oh well. We presented a military id for a discount which they said they don't take now - but was on their website (?). Unfortunately, service was our issue. Our waiters was never to be found and we waited and waited. They would have made more money from us had she been around as we had planned on appetizers and dessert but she wasn't around and so we passed on the apps and ordered dinner. First, it was crowded when we arrived so we sat at the bar and ordered our food. The Appetizer Trio was tasty although the carribean chicken egg rolls I would have like more carribean spice it the chicken fingers were delicious the artichoke dip was bland; however, I was able to change it for a tosssed salad that was fresh and chicken. One Star - Only because zero isn't an option If you've ever wondered what it feels like to wait two full years for a bowl of overpriced Kraft Mac & Cheese, just head to Margaritaville in South Carolina. I'm not kidding -- I think I've aged visibly since placing the order. The cheese wasn't even gourmet, artisan, or remotely special. It was the same stuff you'd microwave at home in your pajamas for $1.29 -- except here, it cost more than a concert ticket and arrived slower than the DMV. By the time the mac & cheese finally showed up (after what felt like two trips around the sun), I half-expected it to be hand-delivered by Jimmy Buffett's ghost in a golden chariot. Nope. Just a regular bowl, lukewarm, sitting there in all its neon-orange, powdered-cheese mediocrity. I cried a little. The ONLY saving grace in this culinary purgatory was our waitress -- bless her patient, sunburned soul. She smiled through the chaos, apologized for the geological wait time, and brought extra napkins like a hero. She deserves a raise, a vacation, and maybe therapy for working there. Staff: very nice bartender outside -quick with our drinks. Our waitress inside was a sweetheart. Atmosphere: Loved the hurricane and water pouring in blender while playing JB music. The airplane lights and propellers ran during music too. I was the only one in restaurant singing..not even a single soul shouting Salt..salt..salt ...except me. ‍ Drinks: Margarita and last mango were good. Boys had virgin strawberry daiquiri...downed them in seconds. Food: huge stack of nachos! Yummy! Jambalaya was ok, I've had better. Fish taco was good. Overall, food was just ok. Margaritaville was a cool experience. The atmosphere was very friendly and of course Jimmy Buffet was playing the whole time. The service was really great too, our server was so kind! Get the Appetizer Trio!! The spinach & artichoke dip was delightful!!! The chicken tenders and egg rolls were good, the honey mustard made them sooo yummy. Gluten free bun was worst ever. Might have been because it took an hour to get our food after ordering. Most of our food was cold. The server was apologetic but the kitchen was horrible. Apparently the manager had to go back and cook. Why let people in if you can't serve them. 20 minutes to get in so they were not that busy just wrong or under staffed. read more

We arrived at Margaritaville and we were advised that it would be at least a 50 minute wait for our party of 6! We decided to take a scroll and we received notification that our table ready. We headed back in the direction of the restaurant and then received a notification that we only had 6 minutes to get back, then 3 minutes. We made it just in time! Our server was great! My salad was not as fresh and crispy as I desired but decent and I liked the sauce on the Lava Lava Shrimp. Many of my parties entrees seemed like frozen food instead of freshly prepared items. I'm a Keylime fan so I ordered the "Homemade" Keylime pie and it was pretty tasty. 3 of my friends ordered frozen margaritas and advised they were watery and the server advised that the drinks on the rocks are better! Yum! The first time I ate at a Margaritaville was back in 2002 when I was in New Orleans. So, dining here was a major flashback for me. There's no Margaritavilles in WV, obviously. We have visited this location a few times over the years and this will be our last. Parking is plentiful around the boardwalk area. We were told a 20 minute wait but it was shorter. We were seated and our waiter, Rick, seemed to be nonplussed at being there to begin with upon arriving at our table. We ordered waters, cokes, Sam Adams, and blue moon. He returned with the drinks sliding them across the table almost spilling the contents. Then he seemed put out that we were not immediately ready to order. We ordered the appetizer trio of egg rolls, chicken tenders, and spinach/artichoke dip which was good. Next we ordered kids Mac and cheese (Kraft boxed Mac and cheese), kids fried shrimp, fried seafood platter and two cheeseburgers in paradise. All was good but nothing to brag about. Disappointed in the burgers as they were super greasy and charred even though we asked for medium. The kids did get a Wikki Stix package of craft materials to play with which was nice. There is a large tequila bottle that emerged from the ceiling to make a large blender margarita drink. Also, there was a man on stilts that made cool balloon animals for the kids. Very loud and somewhat crammed into the place so be careful walking to and from tables. Not a place for anyone with sensory issues at all. Changes need to be made. read more

No waiting area to sit either! Stood for the entire time with a five year old was not pleasant. It was a gorgeous day yet no outdoor seating was available. I ordered the new chipotle steak bowl for 22.99 and they brought it out and I never question anything in a restaurant but when I saw this I could help myself they bring out a huge plate with a little bit of food thrown in it honestly i thought it was a kids portion size food.... I would advise anyone going there to maybe try another establishment because it looks to me they are getting cheap in things like how hard is it to add more rice and beans to make the plate look full?? I expressed this concern with our server who said the reviews were correct and nachos were not made right here. I have been coming here for well over a decade and always enjoy. The cocktails are great! The Don't Stop The Carnival is my favorite! I always add a Myers Dark Rum floater which makes it even better. The bartenders have come to realize whenever they get that order I'm somewhere in the restaurant. The bartenders are great! They are always friendly and do a great job with the cocktails. The food is great too but unfortunately the menu has changed a lot recently and many things aren't there anymore. I also feel like the Volcano nachos, which is always a go to, are not quite as great as they use to be. I will say I still always order them so they are still pretty great. I arrived at 3 pm on a Saturday and the line to get in was immense. Thankfully, I was able to score a seat at the bar. I ordered the Who's To Blame margarita on the rocks and with salt. It had Margaritaville Gold Tequila, Margaritaville Triple Sec and the house margarita blend. Well balanced, very refreshing, not too strong. I really like how they have uniquely shaped tables, for instance there is a giant boat in the middle of the restaurant and they have a 5-person table at the mast of the boat. Super creative. And right near the center of the restaurant, there is a giant margarita bottle that repels from the ceiling at certain times and fills up an oversized blender.
